Here's part 2 to my 2023 crochet recap!
Tumblr media
Mittens I made for someone's baby sister. I made similar ones in blue for the kid I babysit sometimes
May? I think may.

Tumblr media
My first ever actual clothing item, a crochet shrug! (Yes it's on my matress.)
This was made around the end of May for my best friend, and she loved it (she looks amazing in it)
~ • ~
Tumblr media
Cat ear beanie with ruffled brim rather than folded, for the same friend that the shrug was for. One of her favourites ^^
July-August, I believe, but I'm really not positive
~ • ~

A maple leaf because, fun fact, I love maple leaves, and have been wanting to make one for ages, and finally got the thread yarn to make it. It didn't turn out exactly how I'd hoped, but I still think it's cute ^^
About August timeframe

Potholders, hot pads, whatever you call them, things that you can put a hot pan on so it doesn't burn your table. I made three colour variations of circles and squares
June-July

Keychains! My first time actually making keychains, and they turned out pretty well! The jellyfish was a commission (they loved it!) And the mushrooms were based off of me and my best friend, because my hair was split dyed, and she wanted one that would be pink because part of her hair is pink
All made in July-August
~ • ~
Tumblr media
Two pairs of dragon scale fingerless gloves. I'd shared the colourful ones before, but not the gray ones, but both pairs have scales on only one side so that they're still usable.
January-February?

Tumblr media
I made a bunch of these, mesh bucket hats, while I was at a camp, intending on selling them and having them be cheaper since they're mesh. They didn't sell, but they look pretty cool!
July ^^
I'm gonna have to make another part oh goodness I'm so sorry

(Image description: an unfinished lace parasol. End description.)
This is roughly 3 days of work! I'm already two thirds done!!! This may be the fastest I have ever crocheted, relatively speaking. Getting a 48 inch thread weight lace parasol done in 9 days felt like something I would barely be able to manage in time, but now I'm thinking I could get this done like tomorrow if I focus well enough.
My ancestors are clearly lending me all their fiber arts strength lol

I finally achieved my dream dice bag. Dragon scale/crocodile stitch. Pretty dice bag for my pretty dice.
I fit 4 full dice sets in there. Also would be a perfect accessory for my renaissance faire outfit.

The Green Dragon blanket update!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have finished the first stripe of cream and I love the way it looks against the green. These are not attached yet, but I folded the scales against each other to get the right number of rows on the cream and frogged back the extra rows.
Now I start another green!

I tried my hand at making some dragon scale gloves, thinking I might add them to the shop when I get going. Lil too bulky for using at a PC but perfect for outside I'd say.

💖First dragon scale bag!💖
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
💖Pattern down below!💖 4.5 mm is recommended as the pattern says but I only had a 4.25mm hook lol!
I crocheted this after coming back from North Carolina and attending a local Ren faire and being inspired by a dice bag that I actually acquired from when the local vendors.
I chose this color way because I liked how it transitioned and as I was working, I was getting more and more excited and I only used one single scheme for this and I was left about a third of the original size hence the comparison picture on top.
I started on Monday last week and just finished it today mostly because it was very time-consuming when it came to the scales and use the pattern below to basically make a bag with a liner.
I may have botched the liner a little bit because it ended up actually being slightly bigger than the scales despite having similar stitch, counts on the top when the two layers were joined back on top. I chained the drawstring myself.
I’d recommend you try it, it was written by 12 squared creations!
I hope you have a wonderful day and enjoy this pattern. And give the creator a lot of love.

One strip of green scales is done. 5 skeins of Red Heart green tones, which are 236 yards each, so 1180 yards for the stripe.
450 individual scales with 10 stitches each. 45,000 stitches for scales alone, not including foundation stitches for each row.
The blue blanket underneath was gifted to me by my aunt years ago and I love the size of it, so I'm using that as a general guide for size and shape of this new one who is tentatively named The Green Dragon. I expect to add a border, but I haven't settled on a stitch design for that. Suggestions welcome.
Next up, a tiny stripe of flecked cream scales. Then we start the next green stripe.
