Arm warmers and balaclava hood. Improved version of the balaclava hood! I like the more loose knit style for the arm warmers! Arm warmers are a test run and were knitted with crochet for the edging. I had a few colours in mind for the arm warmers but thought I'd try with the basic cream yarn first.

Small crochet project :) arm warmers up to my elbows without thumb holes. I slightly modified this pattern to have ribbing on both ends. I also narrowed the pattern at the wrists —did 31 rows sc 2ch, then did decrease row by chaining just one between sc.
As all my recent projects, I used Yarnart Pacific Chunky. Got a really good price on it so I bought a good amount LOL

Sale on my Etsy going from today to Nov 1st! I've unfortunately had to change my free shipping to only apply to orders over $30, as for some listings Etsy takes almost all the money I'd make. :( I hope the sale makes up for that for now though!

Crochet project #3: Arm Warmers
You might notice there are three of these. No, I don't have three arms.
I am always cold, and honestly this kind of project was behind my original impulse to learn to crochet to begin with.
I bought yarn for the first time, my sole criteria being "is it soft" and "do I like the colors", and checked out a book from the library -- Crochet That Fits by Mary Jane Hall -- for the pattern.
To me, the quality difference between the first and second one I completed was noticeable enough that I made a third one to have a complete "pair" that matched more closely.
I still wear all three on a rotating basis, usually as an additional layer under a windbreaker when I don't want to commit to a sweater or thicker jacket but am still too cold to want to go outside otherwise.

Crochet #1

Hii! So, I've recently got super into crochet and I figured out I should do a blog thingy to track my progress! I think that will be fun!
My final push to start was a crochet tutorial by Savannah Fletcher! Their tutorial shows how to crochet leg warmers, I've started the project and it was a little hard at first. It wasn't my first time crocheting, I did some of it in arts and crafts class in 7th/6th grade. Unfortunately, all of the stuff I used then and my knowledge of crotcheting got lost somewhere in the portal to the 6th dimension in my house that my socks like to get lost in... So I had to buy crotchet materials and learn everything again.
After some progress I gave up after the 3rd time I accidentally ripped the work thread...
I have only remains of the third and last attempt:
Tumblr media
It was the prettiest attempt but I wasn't doing the half-double crochet right which I only realized while doing my second project TvT
My innability wasn't the only reason why I dropped it, I just thought it was too big of a project for first time for me. I wanted something smaller to gradually go up the scale and learn more.
So I'll get you one day! You tricky leg warmers!
My second ongoing project is arm warmers!
I lost my black arm warmers so I decided to crochet a pare of two white arm warmers :D logic :D
I learned from a tutorial by ABoC Studio!! I managed to finish my first attempt at it with some success! I'm not a big fan of it, it doesn't look as aesthetically pleasing as I'd like it to be but it only inspires me to do better!
Tumblr media
The tutorial shows how to make longer arm warmers, unfortunately, I measured incorrectly and as means of giving up I did a shorter version. They fit a bit tight which is my fault.. but hey! They fit and I can wear them!! I finished a project!! I call this a victory!
I'm currently working on my second attempt which I measured right! I think it looks good already!
Tumblr media
It's still a work in progress but I'm sure it'll turn out great! Wish me luck!!
I have a YouTube playlist with stuff I want to crochet or just inspiration for crocheting. I don't want to post my YouTube channel here because it's completely off-topic
but I have an idea! In every post, at the bottom, there will be a link to one of the videos in the playlist!
Go give some love to the awesome ikoxun with their tutorial on crocheting a patchwork cardigan!
