What are the 5 elements of critically thinking in a child during school days?
Critical thinking is an essential skill that all children should develop during their school days. It is the ability to analyze information, evaluate arguments, and make logical decisions.
Here are the five elements of critical thinking that children should learn:
Observation: Children should learn to observe and analyze the world around them. They should be encouraged to ask questions, make observations, and gather information to understand how things work.
Analysis: Once children have gathered information, they should learn to analyze it critically. This involves identifying patterns, making connections, and evaluating the evidence to draw conclusions.
Evaluation: Children should learn to evaluate arguments and ideas critically. They should be taught to question assumptions, identify biases, and consider alternative perspectives before making a judgment.
Inference: Children should learn to make inferences based on evidence and reasoning. This involves drawing conclusions based on the available evidence and using logic to arrive at a solution or decision.
Problem-solving: Children should learn to apply critical thinking skills to solve problems. They should be taught to identify the problem, gather information, analyze the evidence, and use logic to arrive at a solution.
In order to develop these skills, teachers and parents can use a variety of strategies, including:
Encouraging open-ended questions: Instead of asking closed-ended questions that require a simple yes or no answer, teachers and parents can encourage children to ask open-ended questions that require critical thinking to answer.
Providing opportunities for exploration: Teachers and parents can provide children with opportunities to explore new ideas and concepts, encouraging them to think critically and draw their own conclusions.
Using real-world examples: Teachers and parents can use real-world examples to help children develop critical thinking skills. This can help them understand how the skills they are learning can be applied in the real world.
Encouraging collaboration: Teachers and parents can encourage children to collaborate with their peers to solve problems and share ideas. This can help children learn to consider multiple perspectives and work together to arrive at a solution.
Promoting reflection: Teachers and parents can encourage children to reflect on their thinking, helping them identify areas where they need to improve.

Things I've seen tumblr memeing about James Somerton doing à la "How did no one see how bigoted he was!" as if those things haven't been a significant part of tumblr culture for over a decade :
Presenting untrue and bordering on conspiratorial versions of (queer or otherwise marginalised) history without any sources
Completely disregarding and disrespecting any expertise on socio-cultural topics/humanities and distrusting academics and historians (incl. acting as if no academics or historians could be queer or marginalised)
Downplaying the role misogyny played in the historical oppression of queer women and concluding that queer men must have been more oppressed than queer women
Bi women are, at best, not as queer as "real" queer ppl, and at worst, simply equivalent to straight women
Despite nominal trans inclusivity, transmasculine ppl are functionally women when convenient (combined with the above, bi transmascs are functionally straight women)
Despite nominal trans inclusivity (bis), shamelessly attacking, threatening and actively endangering any trans woman who questions them or smth they find important (often by unfairly presenting her as violent or as a threat)
Having absolutely fucking wild and reductive takes about ace ppl, the oppression they face and their place in the queer community
Stating that marriage equality is an assimilationist fight while completely ignoring its direct roots in the horrifying consequences of the AIDS crisis for partners of ppl who died of AIDS
Praising western media creators from the past for queer coding even under censure and in the same breath condemning current non western media creators for being homophobic bc their representation isn't explicit enough
Blaming China for all existing homophobic censoring in western media
Assuming all queer media would be better told by western creators and by western standards
Only out queer ppl get to tell queer stories
Heavily criticising almost all queer media created by women or ppl they see as such (see above points about trans ppl) or involving/starring a significant amount of women for any perceived or real amount of "problematicness", but fawning over and praising and negating criticism of queer media created by and starring mostly or even functionally exclusively men (even when it could be argued that, you know, not involving/seriously sidelining women is a pretty clear example of misogyny which should probably be considered "problematic")
And I'm probably forgetting stuff or there's stuff I have internalised myself and don't recognise as an issue
Like idk but I feel like the takeaway from Hbomberguy and Toddintheshadow's videos should maybe be "be aware of such patterns in your communities bc they definitely exist" and not "this guy is uniquely awful" and I feel like a lot of the discussion I've seen surrounding this has been severely failing at that. Most ppl who've spent any significant amount of time on tumblr prob either have internalised at least one of those thought patterns, have had to de-internalise them, or have had to be extremely vigilant to not internalise them (which is done by, you know, seeking out other sources, which also seemed like an important takeaway from the videos)
#Also I'm saying this as someone who actually watched quite a few of Somerton's videos#And noticed those patterns and stopped watching bc I recognised them from here#and had already learned to unlearn them after being so exposed to them here#And tbh I think anyone who hasn't had the luck or made the conscious choice to seek out ppl who pushed against those narratives#Would absolutely have fallen for this man's bullshit. Like let's not kid ourselves we see takes like this every day on this hellsite#2014 me would have. For sure.#This is next to the plagiarism issue which as Harris points out is an Internet wide issue and this includes tumblr#James Somerton#hbomberguy#todd in the shadows#This brought to you by a conversation with my wife yesterday#So many ppl on here don't deserve to meme or be this self absolvingly critical of this man#The call is coming from inside the house#The man has a tumblr it would legit not surprise me if some of the things he supposedly made up himself he did actually get from somewhere#And that somewhere was a tumblr post

Why do so many trans-identified people call themselves communists? Don't they see how extremely capitalistic the ideology they base their entire life upon is? Come on, really?? 😭😭 You think that your "true self" can be bought through cosmetic surgery and hormone injections and you still call yourself a marxist how are you not embarassed...

Jaecaerys continues to be the only person with any sort of common sense. Obviously I'm not excusing what he says about people from the lower classes, but he makes a good point about his legitimacy being endangered by clear proof Targaryen bastards can claim dragons. Which is why the book makes SO much more sense bc the entire dragonseed idea is his idea, not Mysaria/Rhaenyra's. We can't know for sure bc of how F&B is written, but with it being Jace's idea it's implied at the very least that he's weighed the benefits versus the consequences to his own legitimacy and their dire need to win the war and decided in favor of having the dragonseeds claim dragons. Taking that idea from him though and having it basically be Mysaria's is a complete insult to him and a politically damaging decision he didn't agree to. And not only does he have to deal with that but also in this version he has to be the one consistently wrangling Rhaenyra's council because she's literally NEVER there. I sympathize more with Jacaerys every week bc I'm frustrated, so I can't imagine being him.
#and I do understand Rhaenyra's point about her options being limited#but still I think there were better ways to address Jace's concerns other than “get over it”#also wild that Jace didn't bring up the fact that sleeping with Harwin and getting a kid that looks like him once is a mistake#but three times is actual insanity#jacaerys velaryon#rhaenyra targaryen#mysaria#hotd critical#hotd#house of the dragon#hotd season 2#hotd spoilers#hotd season 2 spoilers

Love, Dhes
Parker,
It's unfair how time with you feels so short. How the last 10 years have felt like no time at all. I like to think there are other versions of us out there, somewhere. Maybe in another timeline, another universe. I like to think we find each other no matter where we are or what we're doing. That we're together and happy and I get to love you in a dozen different lifetimes. That's what I hope, anyway. And I hope when this lifetime ends, we get to start over and do it all again. Because once just isn't enough. Not for me. Not with you.
I hope the next 10 years pass slower.
Love, Dhes

The thing about Ludinus is that he clearly doesn't have a plan for after. And I don't think it's a case of him not thinking that far ahead, I think this is him, in his arrogance, believing that mortals will just figure it out. The gods are dead, and mortals' great potential is unleashed! They'll survive and thrive, of course they will! Any casualties are necessary sacrifices for the great new order.
And what will Ludinus be doing? Nothing. He'll be dead. I think Ludinus desperately wants to be a martyr, eternally memorialized as Exandria's great savior. He'll die for the cause, but he won't live to see its consequences.

[ID: A digital illustration of Orym and Will from Critical Role. They're both children, approximately five years old. They're standing together, Will with his hands together in front of him looking down at Orym with a smile and Orym with his hands at his sides looking up at Will with a grin. Will is wearing a cream shirt with some blue stylised vines on it, wide legged blue trousers that stop a little above his ankles, simple brown sandles, and a leather belt made of brown and blue leather. Orym is wearing a white shirt with leaves and flowers embroidered on it, green trousers that are loose but gather at the bottom, just above his ankles, and no shoes. Orym is drawn with a thin tail that has a fluffy end. End description.]
Planning to do a little comic with little kid Orym and Will so I did some designs!

i actually think ppl dealing with religious trauma by having an edgy atheist phase is fine. I actually think maybe the kid who makes sorta cringey jokes at the expense of a cult they're trapped in should be allowed to do that. Yes I roll my eyes when I see people calling it "the book of moron" but I also remember being fourteen and seeing someone do that and how incredibly powerful it felt so I think maybe it being a bit cringe in retrospect is fine.
#no one ever fucking. mentions that part of cringe culture. when theyre criticizing it#like no one's willing to defend teenagers who are maybe kinda annoying abt their religious trauma!! worst crime in the world i guess#oh noooo the kid who's forced to attend a church that tells them theyre evil for existing said god is fake and they were SMUG abt it!! 😱😱#who caressss if u think its stupid its not FOR you#ties into my feelings about teenage rebellion being 'cringe' in general tbh. like sorry the person who has zero autonomy is acting out#maybe you should! treat them like a person! that might help who knows!#exmo#exmormon#religious trauma

had to draw this to understand the way i feel about him now that the manga's ended. 🥲 on that note: if you like hawks and his ending, maybe don't read my tags lol. it's not bashing (imo) but they're not v nice. 😅
bg + unobstructed pose under the cut!
his expression's a lil different 'cuz i only changed the merged layer, all the lighting effects already flattened onto it. 💀 alas.
#hawks#mha hawks#bnha hawks#takami keigo#keigo takami#bnha#bnha fanart#mha#mha fanart#spoilers#bnha spoilers#mha spoilers#it's not very positive lol i don't really like the way his character ended 🥲#i think his hero worship for endeavor blinded him from seeing or doing anything that could make a difference#i was so let down when he didm't have any sort of critique or moral dilemma after the touya reveal#and just immediately supported endeavor--it made me think he wss incapable of being critical of his idol.#only further underscored with the way he remembers his endeavor plushie while he defends the rabking system.#like. he thinks about his childhood toy of his hero while he defends the system that ultimately caused that ''hero'' to ruin his family.#so blinded by that pedestal that he unironically thinks about the BIGGEST example of why the ranking system does NOT work#WHILE he defends said system.#he was introduced as this morally complicated guy and instead of his childhood worship of a flawed guy making him more interesting#by having him really THINK about what it means that his hero inadvertently created a super villain#he was instead flattened into an endeavor fan boy. and even tho he was introduced as a guy w a complicated bg of#villainous father + harshly trained by the HPSC from a young age he still doesn't do very much with the system of which he's gained charge.#if he thought of the plushie as a memory of what it meant to have a symbol of hope in his hands it's like...#hawks... abolishing the ranking system wont stop merch and news articles and good PR from happening...#anyways yeah. he was one of my faves for a really long time but the way he ends... i dont like that guy.#that being said him becoming president of the HPSC isnt smth i hate even tho idve given him a vacay and his sought-after free time.#and i like that he brings a katana around now. i tried to make the projection make it look like his epilogue self has wings.#oh and i hated the tiny epilogue panel that made it look like endeavor replaced his entire set of kids. :) just. absolutely loathed it. :))

Pike and Scanlan's kids (friendly reminder, they do canonically have two kids) must be SO embarrassed by their parents. The constant divorce and remarriage, the various kinds of sex that come with that, the uh. The centaur thing.
And considering their son is fuckin' named WILHAND'ILDAN, I imagine it must take either a lot or very little to embarrass these kids. There's no middle ground.
#vox machina#critical role#cr spoilers#(I haven't watched the back half of the episode yet but I got spoiled about the Scanlantaur and I HAVE QUESTIONS)#it's also unrelated but I like to think that one of their kids is a gnome aasimar given Pike's connection to Sarenrae and Scanlan and Ioun#probably Juniper

Personally the amount of people who are either "Jake is a stupid himbo" or "Jake is actively malicious" blow my mind. No, Jake isn't stupid, and he's not evil. He's a sixteen year old who is implied to have a mental disability and/or brain damage (it's not exactly clear, Caliborn claims they have the same developmental disorder and Dirk iirc worries that Jake hit his head too much, I guess you can take either with a grain of salt but I digress), and has not had meaningful real life interactions with other human beings in years. He is in the wrong for his actions, but it feels. Purposefully ignorant to claim he's just stupid or just evil for them.
He's socially stunted. He wants to emulate heroes in movies but lacks self esteem and experience. If the alpha kids had enough time to be more fleshed out (and let's be real, if Hussie cared about Jake) this might have been explored more thoroughly. He'd never had the opportunity to learn how to cope with a relationship, how to communicate his needs, or understand that he can't control how other people perceive him like he can through a computer screen.
He doesn't know healthy boundaries because he's never had to use them, and this goes both ways (allowing his friends to sexualise him and treat him like an object, as well as constantly complaining about his relationship with Dirk to Jane) Like yeah he does run away instead of communicating with Dirk and yeah he does dump all his problems on Jane. I love Jane, but one of her problems is her bottling up her feelings and people pleasing until everything blows up. She should have told him off much sooner, and while he was being a dick, it was partly because she allowed him to feel like it was okay to do, since she never told him it wasn't after the first few times or when she was starting to get aggravated.
His problems with Dirk are a little more complicated because we're never actually shown their relationship or how it broke down, but from what we can gather, Jake felt overwhelmed by Dirk's intensity and decided to ignore him rather than tell him try and avoid confrontation but leading to Dirk being frustrated and breaking up with him. Dirk claims he feels like he bullied Jake into a relationship, and though I personally think that's him making it seem worse than it was, it does mean that Dirk probably was trying to go too fast. I've best heard it is Jake being an introvert pretending to be an extrovert.
This is not to say I don't think people can't dislike or even hate Jake, but it's like. Idk. Misinterpreting a character and disliking that version of them is a little redundant to me.
#homestuck#dirkjake#jake english#dirk strider#jane crocker#character meta#homestuck meta#this is kind of in response to those people in the “worst homestuck character” tourney lol#the notes on those posts are atrocious especially the ones about the alpha kids. especially roxy#god if you think roxy is a perfect sngel i assume you haven't read the comic#btw im not mad at the person running the polls or whatever for that they seem fairly chill#its just that homestuck fans are sometimes stupid#and lack reading comprehension and critical analysis#long post#ummm jake dislikers ur fine but please. be correct about him if you're going to not like him#ok bye lol

hello 911 why are all the LO volumes classified as grades 6-12 except for the newest volume which is more appropriately categorized as grades 9-12
please no
#and no i'm not trying to be all 'think of the children'#but it also squicks me out to think of the potential of 11-12 year olds learning about sex through the onscreen rape scene in vol 1#and also minthe verbally abusing hades during sex#esp when these categories are also meant for PARENTS not just kids#the parents are the ones buying the books and being told that these books are appropriate for their kids#like why is the trial arc volume the one that gets the age bump LOL#what about the trial arc is more “mature” than the rest of it lmao#“kids under 12 won't understand courtroom proceedings” ok first of all the courtroom proceedings in LO are completely made up and stupid#but also the trial arc isn't appropriate for kids but all the other shit in LO leading up to it is ??? hello ???#i know i'm probably blowing it way out of proportion but ughgh it's still ick#know your audience jfc#on the flipside it's really funny because it goes to show that anyone older than 18 is probably too old for LO lmaoooo#makes me think of all the ppl who talk about how they liked LO when they were younger and then later realized how gross it is#lore olympus critical#anti lore olympus#lo critical
