I've learned something as an American with a British wife.

I've learned that British people can, and WILL, make anything into a sandwich.

I just watched Sel put walkers chips into a cheese sandwich and crunch down on it.

Random question, but I just had the biggest craving for a crisp sandwich (90's kid staple), and it made me wonder, is this just an English thing? And also, what is your go-to flavour of crisps?

Mine as a kid was always Pickled Onion Monster Munch 🤤 Today was Ready Salted Hula Hoops.

Nevermind writing the date backwards, I want to know why y'all seem to think it's acceptable to put baked beans on your toast? Y'all like your toast wet and soggy, huh? Although when my British friend first told me about beans on toast I thought she meant string beans and was even more bewildered. That is a crime against humanity in itself and potato chips in a sandwich? Please explain what that's about.

Well, let me tell you, us Brits have a peculiar taste when it comes to breakfast (or any meal for that matter). Baked beans on toast is a classic, it's our version of peanut butter and jelly!

The fact it was the concept of baked beans on toast seems to be an iconic British staple, this was thought up by Heinz (yep, the ketchup company) they claim the combo was invented by one of its executives in 1927.

But It's a perfect combination of protein and carbs, and let's be real, who wants dry toast anyway?

As for the potato chips (crisps) in a sandwich, it's all about the crunch and flavour from salt and vinegar, cheese and onion to beef & onion and even roast dinner flavour!

We like to add some texture to our sandwiches, and what better way to do that than with some crispy, salty goodness? So, while it may seem strange to some, to us it's just another delicious snack.

And hey, don't knock it until you've tried it!

Cupboard Door

You were making yours and James’ lunch, a simple sandwich. Well for him, you were having a crisp sandwich.

You finished making James’ sandwich and called him into the kitchen to get it, hearing a thud and his exited and fast footsteps coming towards the kitchen. Then, you hear him enter the kitchen, turning on his feet, a smack, and a relatively loud ‘fuck’.

Ok so you left the cupboard door open, why wasn’t he watching where he was going?

“Careful.” You look up at him holding his head as he looked at you.

“That was not funny.” He gave me a look like he was trying not to cry, and slammed the cupboard shut.

“Bro, i’m not laughing.” you defended, throwing your hands up by your head.

“You tell me off for leaving doors open.” he grumbled, resting his hip against the granite countertop.

“Yeah, but that door doesn’t bother me.” You shrugged, handing him his lunch, seeing him hide a smirk.

“That’s because you’re fuckin tiny. Don’t know the struggle of bein’ tall.” he complained, snatching his plate from your hands.

“Oi, don’t snatch.”

“What was that?” he put a hand to his ear and furrowed his brows.

“Don’t snatch shit from-”

“Gosh, it’s hard to hear you from down there.” he sighed, taking a bite from his sandwich, looking extremely proud of himself.

You would be very sure to leave that cupboard door open every time you’re in the kitchen from now on 🥰

Why do you call these chips. These are long sticks of pure potato flesh these are a mockery of god

they're chips!! a little boy is a chip off the old block, five blocks down you'll find the chippie, don't go searching for a chipper attitude when you try to spend a few quid though cause we're all as miserable as the weather here xx

I usually ordered my ham in advance but this year I decided to try cash and carry instead. Whether I preorder or buy off the shelf, the price is still the same, except that I don’t get the cooler bag and cranberry sauce if I did the latter. Here is the boneless Ham Royale (±1.8 kg before cooking) I bought from NTUC supermarket.

Woke up early to slice up the ham and prepare the rest of the ingredients while toasting the Rosemary & Olive Panini Roll in the oven. Pan-fried the ham then the brown button mushrooms and king oyster mushrooms with olive oil and black pepper. Time to assemble the sandwich with a layer of green & red coral lettuces, ham, cheese, canned pineapple rings and the sautéed mushrooms to make my Ham & Panini Sandwich with a side of potato crisps. Later on, sis makes her own with an extra fried egg added to the sandwich.

those viral sandwiches where u just chop the ingredients into a sludgy gooey mess make me so irrationally mad !!! bcs like im not tryna yuck someone’s yum , but i made sandwiches for a living for yearsss & the genuine art of a great sandwich is ALL ABOUT the layers so u have a fine divide btwn all of the ingredients that compliment each other when stacked, both visually & taste-wise ! ……… otherwise u just hav glorified hog feed in btwn two pieces of bread beautiful …..
