I finished the crinoline cage. This is a picture of it on me but with me stealthily concealed
Not the perfect shape I wanted but it's pretty close and I don't want to spent 15$ more on shipping for more bones :/

And here, as promised to the dear @vinceaddams come a lot of extant Garments from my recent Visit at the German National Museum in Nuremberg. I am trying to give as much Information about each Picture as I can though unfortunately not all of the Pictures were taken by me and I could take Pictures as extensively (including Info Signs) as I would have wanted, lest I be abandoned in the Clothing Section. Also the whole Section was awfully dim, which made it rather difficult to read some of the Signs. The last three Pictures were taken in a different Section, thus the more pleasant Lighting.
Servant Livery, bavarian Court, mid 19th Century (left); Servant of the Count of Cannotreadhisname, first half 19th Century (right)
Woman's Folkdress, Lötschental/Wallis (Switzerland), Museum dates it 1830/1905 which is an awfully broad Range, but maybe it was altered later; shows wonderfully how late 18th Century Styles were preserved in european Folkdress that came to be in the 19th Century proper
Various Men's Garments throughout the 18th Century, as there are Closeups of each, the respective Detailinformation will be provided further down.
Men's Spencer, c. 1810s-1820s, Linen and Cotton, the Sign didn't say it explicitely but due to it's Placement in the Exhibition and comparable other Pieces I have seen, I think this is more of a common Man's Piece of Clothing.
Three Men's Shirts, various Shoebuckles, a cocked Hat, a Periwig and what I assume to be a Hair Bag. This Display Case had a rather badly illuminated Sign, so sadly I have no further Details about the Pieces.
Justeaucorps, c. 1695, Wool, Silk, Metal Trim.
Waistcoat, c. 1695, Silk, according to the Museum it was worn together with the Justeaucorps, which seems to be a nice Colour-Combination.
Breeches, 1790-1800, Silk. Very pretty Pair, but the bad Lighting doesn't really let it show.
Habit à la francaise, c. 1790, Wool, Silk, Embroidery (What a Material Specification...). I really like the Combination of those subtle dark on dark Stripes and the Embroidery.
Tailcoat, c. 1790/1795, Cotton, Silk, Linen, really peak 1790s Look honestly.
Very wide Court Panniers, with Pocket Hoops and Crinoline in the Background. Alas no Detail Information for this and the next two Pictures.
Frontal View of the Pannier. I suppose I have to get one of those at some Point, if only for how extra they are.
Three Pairs of Stays, two from the Front, one from the Back. Sadly I don't feel confident enough to Date those and I have no Pictures showing the Info Signs well enough.
Lots of pretty Dresses that were exhibited in another Section of the Museum. The right one is a Robe à l'Anglaise, but that's all I can tell.
Another beautiful Anglaise, notable for being preserved in its Entirety with original Ruffles.
More pretty Dresses. Unfortunately due to Time Reasons I have no Pictures of the Suits displayed across the Dresses in the U-shaped Display, though I have to say one of them had a very much not authentic Lacebib hanging from the Neck...
That's all the cool Clothing Pics I have, at some Point I will return and take loooots more Pictures from all the Angles too. Also at some Point I might write to the Museum about the Lighting, there surely is a better Solution when having your Objects barely visible with unreadable Signs while still protecting them from UV-Rays.
Bonus-Pic 1:
Me, in historical Dress, c. 1750 (minus the Shoes), standing in a historical Kitchen.
Bonus-Pic 2, for the Boat-Crowd:
Beautifully detailed Modell Sailing Ship, early to mid 17th Century if I remember correctly. Interestingly enough all the little Sailor Figurines on it were very much early 19th Century in Style, so I assume the previous owner had those added at some Point, before the Museum acquired the Model in the late 19th Century. (The Incongruence sadly wasn't addressed on the Info Sign, so I might contact them about this too.)

Getting Dressed with Addy Walker
It's Addy's turn to receive a set of cute and historically accurate undies!
I made these pieces for her based on her original set released in 1994, shortly after Addy's debut the year before. It included a chemise, a crinoline, and a red plaid petticoat. I reproduced all three items. Everything else Addy wears is made by Pleasant Company.
When Addy gets dressed in the morning, she starts with a pair of drawers.
They're long enough to reach just past her knees, and their lacy trim peeks out below the hems of her dresses.
Next is a chemise, which buttons at the neck.
Over that she wears a crinoline, which is a wooden hoop that hangs from Addy's waist and makes her skirts stand out.
For extra fullness and warmth, she puts a plaid flannel petticoat over the crinoline. It has a ruffle at the hem to better hide the crinoline.
Addy always wears knee-length knit stockings, no matter the weather. She laces up her pretty blue boots.
She ties up her braids and secures them with black velvet hairbows. The finishing touch is her cowrie shell necklace, which reminds her of her family's love.
Addy is dressed and ready for the walk to school. She was one of two students from her school chosen to receive higher education at the ICY, and today she'll look just as fashionable as her wealthier classmates.

"All the hopes, fears, capabilities of her nature were yet folded around her like the wings within a chrysalis." (Marian Withers – Geraldine Jewsbury, 1851)
the next decade in the timeline: the 1850s. a decade of large social turmoil and even larger skirts. these skirts were created by layering numerous petticoats, which made it unwieldy, uncomfortable, and at times unsafe. that is, up until cage crinoline of 1856! this allowed for skirts to continue to grow even further than before. another development that shifted fashion were the improvements in the sewing machine. these improvements and mass production of the singer sewing machine allowed for even the lower classes to take part in fashion trends. we also see a more "natural" waistline (natural in where it lays on the body) and soft, drooping shoulders. once again, i deviated in one outfit. i know it's technically a swimsuit. but when i saw it, it reminded me of this illustration of amelia bloomer, who famously made a stir with elizabeth smith miller and elizabeth cady stanton in 1851 when they began to wear loose trousers paired with shorter dresses, now referred to as "bloomer suits". this never caught on, but it's an important moment in the history of women's fashion in america.

I had a question about the Victorian!AU
When you say victorian, what time period are you referring to?
Like, is logan wearing a lighter dress with a snatched waist from the time nearing the turn of the century, or is he on a big puffy dress from earlier in the period?
Ahh I’m so glad you’re asking this!
So I am referring to the later time period, specifically the year 1876. Dyes were commonplaces (even if some of them were poisonous), the princess line and bustle were in style, and while the dresses were form-fitting they also allowed for greater movement compare to the crinoline and hoop skirts. Laces, ribbons, ruffles, and frills are also popular at this time and I wanted Logan in all of them. The hats also look absolutely spectacular around this time.
The reason for 1876 is because it is in the middle of the decade. The upper-class looked to France, particularly Paris, for what was the next big thing. French fashion would travel over to England, the nobility would wear it and the market would attempt to copy it. This lets me dip into the fashion at the end of the 1870s early 1880s when it comes to dressing the characters.
Each family and character has an assigned color scheme, fabric/print type, stones and metal, and even the scent they are described with are associated with real world fragrances. (I went to the mall many times to see what fragrances worked with who)- if anyone is interested I will happily talk about this more.
Thank you for asking this! Sorry if I got a bit off topic😅

Lolita clothes r so pretty i love them so much ajkfaj
YESSS OMG SO SO SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG OHMIGOSH I WAS SOSOSOSSOSOSOOOOO BURNT OUT I NEEDED A LITTLE BREAK!!!!!!!!
A LOLITA LAYOVER?! ft MILGRAM ( ♡ )
synopsis: You’ve been making clothing for each of the prisoners for what feels like years; now they have a request for something you could make them.
warning: none!
alo’s notes: I LOVE THIS IDEAAAAAA I LOVE LOLITAS AND JFASHION IN GEN THIS IS SO CUTEE
ES
“ES! C’mere I need you to try something for me!” You’d yell from your cell as you heard ES groan, begrudgingly you watched the 15 year old stomp their way to your cell like a child.
“What?!” ES complained as you held out a pastel colored suit for them, along with a larger cape you had made previously.
“Try these on for me, I put a lot of hard work into making them so you should be appreciative of it!” You remarked proudly as ES took the garments from you going back into their room to change.
Es came out hunched over as you smiled, taking off their hat and ruffling their hair. “Essie!~ Oh your so cute like this!” Es scoffed, rolling their eyes as they swatted your hand from their hair;
“How many times have I told you not to call me that?”
001 SAKURAI HARUKA
It’d been a few months since you’d given Haruka a piece to wear, you’d been thinking about something to make him when you remembered an idea you had months ago.
“Haruka! C’mere I wanna see something!” You called for the blue haired boy, holding something in the small of your hands; he came into your cell with a small ‘huh’ sounding noise as you placed a blueberry pie themed hat onto his head.
Look! It’s a hat I made! You want it?” You asked gingerly as Haruka pulled the hat from his head flipping it around in his hands.
“Mhm.. can I keep it..? Please..?” He’d look at you with expecting eyes, his brow noticeably tugging upwards as he did his best to hold eye contact.
“Yeah of course! I made it just for you!” You’d grin as you watched his face light up, a wobbly smile on his face as he hugged you. “You're the best [Name]!”
002 YUNO KASHIKI
“‘Nother dress for me [Name]?~” Yuno chuckled as you came into her cell with another dress for her to check out. You’d made fairly simple dresses for Yuno as she seemed like the kind of girl to like simple dresses but this time you wanted to be a bit more extravagant.
“Yep! I think you’ll like this one too!~” You smiled, handing Yuno the crinoline lined dress, it had an iconic cupcake shape and special hand threaded lacing on the front, it complemented her hair color.
She gave you a cheeky grin running away to go try it on; coming out shortly after with her uniform in hand and a large smile on her face as she spun around.
“I might just steal this from you [Name]~”
003 FUUTA KAJIYAMA
Fuuta didn't understand the purpose of you bringing him outfits but as time passed he’d ask you to bring him one every few weeks or months, this time around he had come with a request.
A drawing made with Amane’s fresh pack of crayons that he had drawn up on the floor of his cell, showing it to Mahiru before approaching you with it.
It was one of a large bunny sweater, blues and whites with hints of red everywhere.
His face would flush as you listened to his idea of the outfit, happily you obliged, picking out anything that you had to get the job done.
You handed over the bunny sweater watching him pull the large garment over his head as he smiled admiring the feeling of the soft fabric as he felt it through his fingers.
The rough-edged boy seemed dull at that moment, holding your new creation with as much care and delicacy as possible, muttering words of thanks and gratitude as much as he could.
“Thank you.. [Name].. it's fucking amazing..”
004 KUSUNOKI MUU
Muu was never one to ask you for much, she’d never really talk to you either, Muu had been simple and timid when it came to your ability to make clothing for her she wanted to make your life a little bit easier.
She explained the concept of a yellow chiffon-like dress which she had thought about before not knowing how to make or get one.
Reluctantly you made it for her, adding long droopy sleeves and slimmed boning, finally, you handed it over to her the expression on her face reading of both shock and happiness.
“[Name]..! I didn't actually need you to make this! I.. dunno what to say..”
005 KIRISAKI SHIDOU
He’d seen your work with Mahiru and Fuuta, so much so that he wanted to get something from you as well.
You’d look over to the purple patterned fabric lord knows how many times as you stitched it to the inner side of the coat, sighing deeply as your fingers held the needle tightly.
You questioned your ability as you gripped the fabric, feeling your shoulder become warmer with a tight yet soft grip.
“The coat looks good.. I can't wait to see the finished product.”
006 SHIINA MAHIRU
Mahiru had always been fashionable, looking so dolled up even in her prison uniform. Now Mahiru cuddles up to you while you make her a new dress.
“This fabric is so much cuter than this one.. oh! But this one is so much softer!”
She doted over the fabrics you'd placed in front of her as she felt the difference between them.
“[Name]!~ Help me pick out one of these!~” She’d squeal as she hugged your shoulders playfully, nuzzling her face into the crook of your neck as she smiled at you.
008 MOMOSE AMANE
Throughout your time knowing Amane she had never once asked you for anything large, majority of the time the only thing she'd ask of you was just if you could patch up the uniform they supplied her.
Amane seemed to be working with her impulses today instead of usually working against them, coming up to you requesting a green and blue dress.
As to your surprise she wanted to watch you make her dress, not only that but she wanted to be actively involved in it as well, even going as far to ask for large changes throughout the process.
009 MIKOTO KAYANO
Mikoto was the first person to ask you if you'd be willing to make clothing for him, whether it’d be hats, sweaters, or socks he’d always have something for you.
Tonight was no different, Mikoto and you just sat there in your cell as you stitched together a pair of mittens by hand, he’d just watch over you, his hand over yours as he inspected your handy work.
Your legs thrown over each other as you leaned into his chest, your back pressed up against his body, his chin on your shoulder.

Hi! Do you have references of clothes and hairstyles for characters?
I don't have any visual references right now. I did give a description before, but I'd like to better clarify it. I hope this gives a more clear idea:
Imagine a blend of Middle-Ages and 18th Century styles infused with heavy fantasy elements. As I mentioned before, it's akin to the aesthetic of the game Bloodborne, but with a shift away from the Victorian towards more medieval influences, and not as dark ─ think 'grim dark' but with a touch of whimsy.
The fashion includes poet shirts adorned with ruffles, laces, fitted bodices, and an absence of crinolines. For armor, it leans more towards fantasy rather than historical accuracy, and it incorporates elements from the aforementioned styles. Armor can have a bodice and fancy laces, for example.
As for hairstyles, I like to imagine them elegant yet not overly extravagant. They are similar to the time periods I've stated.
As I had said in the post this was asked in before, I plan to expand on this in an entry coming with the Codex update, which I hope will provide even more detail. For now, I hope this description helps you!

Your post about the Victorians’ attitudes towards the Regency is so interesting!! Do we have any examples of them satirizing or otherwise lambasting the attire of other eras? My teacher once said they hated the Georgians but I’ve also read that was a big 1870s influence so unsure if that’s right.
I think this is where it helps to remember that the Victorian EraTM was a 60-year span of time, and the Georgian era similarly expansive. Parts of it were in and out of favor during parts of the former, so it's not quite correct to say "the Victorians hated the Georgians."
(Also, for fellow non-Brits who were confused by the Georgian/Regency distinction like I first was: the Regency was part of the Georgian era. So were most of the 1820s and 1830s. Georgian does not just refer to the panniers/powdered wigs period. The more you know!)
There was a massive late 17th/early-mid 18th-century influence on fashion in the 1870s and 80s, yes! It's why I get annoyed when people claim that bustles are based on the- very real -exploitation and fetishization of Sarah Baartman (c. 1789-1815). They became popular nearly 60 years after her death, and took inspiration from clothing that went out of style decades before she was born.
(La Comtesse de Mailly, 1698)
(1720s dress, National Museum, Norway.)
(Gown from the Met Museum's collection, c. 1872. Note the ruffled 3/4 sleeves, skirt back fullness, and appearance of an underskirt/overskirt arrangement. Low-ish, square necklines were also popular at the time, though not universal.)
As for satirizing other eras of fashion, I'm sure it happened in abundance; what interests me more, however, is the spreading of outright misinformation about how their ancestors dressed. One of the best-known examples is their take on the "iron corset" of the Medieval and Renaissance periods:
(Illustration from The Corset and the Crinoline, published 1868. One 1871 writer from the London Times dismissed the notion that such garments were orthopedic devices as "superficial falsehood," despite the fact that we now know- and clearly at least some people did back then, too! -that primary sources identify them exactly that way.)
While real examples of iron support garments do exist- as do extant accounts identifying them as medical aids -a roaring reproduction trade sprung up during the Victorian era. At least partially for fetish reasons, it is now believed, echoing the anonymous tightlacing erotica found in such publications as the misleadingly-named Englishwoman's Domestic Magazine.
And that's just one example. The more things change, the more we remain convinced that our ancestors were complete idiots who had no idea how to dress themselves sensibly.

"Would you do me the honour of this dance,"
A SIGMA x FEM!READER !!!
!!WARNING!! : OCC(?) SIGMA, BAD WRITING?? (• ▽ •;)
MASQUERADE
My second time writing :3
The end was rushed since I ran out of ideas, please do give suggestions on improvements if you can!!❤️
I'm only writing purely because I'm bored and have nothing better to do!!! Please do reblog/like if you enjoyed reading this!!!!
Cinching your waist, doing your makeup, trying to get your hair to look glorious. You've been preparing for the past few hours for an upcoming masquerade ball. You were put into the crinoline cage and then get dressed into the beautiful, elegant dark purple ball gown.
The gown was adorned with multiple glimmering gems, captivating even your worst enemies. It was embellished with ravishing ruffles and silk. Oh but of course, you can't possibly forget your laced gloves can you? Lastly, it was the mask, that's the core element of a masquerade ball after all, is it not? The mast was detailed and designed to match the ball gown you've gotten.
The clock strikes nine, indicating that it was time to set off to the masquerade ball.
You've arrived, it was beautiful just from the first glance of the exterior. As you've stepped into the party, you were blinded by how divine the interior looks. you strolled in, greeting the other guests that were present at the ball before walking straight to the bartending area. There, you see a particular man that has caught your eyes. He had long and silky luxurious hair, his hair color stood out from the rest of the crowd. He, too also seems to take quite a liking to you.
He sauntered towards you, giving you a warm smile before reaching out his gloved hands and speaking :
"Would you do me the honour of this dance, milady?" He stared, lovingly into your eyes.
You reached your hand onto his, feeling his cold gloved hands. His other free hand went across your back to your waist. Gracefully waltzing with you in his arms, staring into your eyes as if it's the most precious thing he has ever seen.
"So, darling,
if you smell Something burning,
it's my heart
'Scuse me!"
The dance eventually came to a stop, both exchanged glances. The split colored hair man bowed to you then spoke:
"The names Sigma. What would your name be?"
"Y/N."
You replied. He took your hand into his and gave it a quick kiss. You blushed slightly, quickly brushing it off.
Sigma suddenly had to go, a man wearing an ushanka with short black hair and a man with platinum white hair was calling out to him. He looked panicked and gave you a worried look.
"I'm sorry milady, it seems it is our time to part. Farewell."
He quickly ran away, appearing as if he wanted to hide from them. You were left confused, but you decided to carry on whatever you had in mind anyway.
Little did you know, the man with the ushanka was staring right at you without you even noticing. You seemed to have caught his eyes.
This is gonna be a hell of a mess to deal with.

FFXIV Write 2024 Day 28: Deleterious
Martyn chewed on his lip, considering his options. The cute perky compliant act had not gone well, especially when Dollmaker seemed to assume worst intentions no matter what. So, a rarity in Ul'dah - being honest might actually work to his favor. "So you're saying you don't want to use me because you know I'm an actual person, not just some blank slate you can project onto?"
Dollmaker busied itself with adjusting the dresses on their hangers, its long neck bowed sullenly. "You must think me pathetic. Not just a monster, but a monster trying to buy its way into pretending anyone thinks it's not a monster."
"I reckon the Platinum Mirage has a dozen of those any given day of the week, they just look more mortal than you do."
"Hah." It pronounced the word sullenly and formally, without a shred of humor. "But for them, you'd show no fear."
"Are you kidding? The people at the Mirage are terrifying." Martyn slid over to the edge of the worktable and sat on it, his legs dangling. "And they treat you like even less of a person."
"Don't lie to me, doll. It's not the same." The voidsent's head sunk further, until the mask was buried in the crinoline ruffles of a Hatchingtide dress.
Well, fuck it. "You know, you don't actually know who I am," Martyn insisted. Dollmaker tilted his head, peering at him with one blank eye.
"I'm not a mindless little cute thing, sure. I've never been cute a day in my life. But I'm not exactly the most normal guy in the world. If I just wanted a consistant paycheck I'd have stuck to arcanism." Sure, getting paid to just lay there was nice, but.
"You know how you learn that spell I used on you? You stand there and you let a living bomb detonate close enough to be caught in the explosion."
"That's insane."
"Yeah. Little bit, yeah. You kinda have to be to do this sort of magic at a high level." Most of the Whalaqee only learned basic spells, self defense and getting the tasks of the day done. But no, Martyn had to go and be a dramatic bitch about it. "Which means I am not the most normal guy in the world either."

FASHION CREDITS: JAZZ & PIANO SHOW 4.0 PART II
Due to the first part being a tad too long, here is the second part of the fourth leg of Lady Gaga's Jazz & Piano residency stage looks styled by Tom Eerebout and Sandra Amador!
For June 30th, Lady Gaga brought out her bespoke Adrián Manceras silver crystal and intricate chain fringe mini dress which she debuted in Vegas back in February!
She‘s donning the white showgirl-inspired headdress with turkey feathers and Swarovski crystals by Arturo Rios!
Of course, she can't miss out on her custom pair of Laruicci crystal statement earrings...
...and her favorite Jimmy Choo metallic silver Anouk stiletto pumps.
The same night, Lady Gaga left tongues wagging as she entered the stage in a bespoke Michael Costello fuchsia pleated cape gown with bejeweled neck and matching belt.
One of her headpieces is the Astrea black crinoline birdcage mask with bow on top (£1,500) by London-based Turkish milliner Merve Bayindir.
The penultimate show, which took place on July 5th, saw Lady Gaga taking over the stage in a custom Michael Costello x Mother Plucker Feather Company red crystallized and plummeted V-neck silk caftan with bejeweled waist.
It was topped off with a custom Haus of Gaga red crystal-embellished domed headband.
My favorite look of the night was this dreamy turquoise-colored total sequin on tulle column dress from Alberta Ferretti's Resort 2024 collection which the Haus of Gaga customized by adding plush black velvet puff sleeves.
This look was completed with the Carrie Jenkinson Millinery Spring/Summer 2024 Valencia exploding feather fascinator (£579),…
...silver-tone mixed crystal flower linear drop earrings by I.N.C. International Concepts exclusively sold at Macy’s,...
… and the Cornelia James Melissa opera-length black velvet gloves (£160).
So grateful to finally introduce designer Pamella Roland to you!
Gaga chose her Pre-Fall 2024 silver sequined tulle cape gown with starburst embroidery ($5,995) which she got customized with grey ostrich feathers at the hem.
Roland’s Pre-Fall 2024 collection is a mesmerizing homage to "the timeless allure of Dutch floral still life paintings of the 17th century by such masters as Jan Bruegal the Elder & Rachel Ruysch. This season transforms into a canvas where light, shadow, and perspective dance harmoniously, echoing the captivating essence of those masterpieces. Pre-Fall’s, asymmetrical compositions and an enigmatic mood weave their way into the collection’s silhouettes, unveiling sculptural gowns adorned with cascading ruffles and sleeves that evoke the opulent abundance found in floral arrangements."
Her vintage 1993 Jose & Maria Barrera crystal necklace completed the look.
