This is assuming that broppy had some kind of relationship prior to the first movie. What if "true colors" wasn't the first time poppy saw branch at his most colorful? Every time they'd hang out for a while, poppy can see it, the sincerity creeping behind every little grin, and his skin starting to color a faint blue tint. Every day he return to his gray state, but every time poppy get a hold of him, she can see his true colors perking up behind his gloom, filing her with hope and excitement.

The first time they kiss, has poppy slowly took a peek through squinted eyes, she gasp in shock seeing his face up to the root of his hair beaming with the most vibrant blue she has ever seen. When alerted, branch ask her what's wrong, she gently take his hand and kiss it, showing the effect on his colors. Branch look in disbelief, from his hand up to poppy's face. Her eyes shining with surprise, love and excitement. She jump on him, kissing her everywhere, his cheeks, his shoulders, his chest, loving how bright his skin get under her lips. Branch can only pretend to protest and push her away. He's actually giggling like an idiot, like the first happy laugh he ever had in forever.

I looked at one and I think I had some sort of mega cringe moment (I dunno if it even was cringe) where my eyes literally WATERED and my head went all light headed and hurty.

I may have realized that I can just make my own, so. I did that. As for how they got switched up, it was just some mystic nonsense. Likely the aftermath of fighting a mutant that uses magic like Hypno, or even a case of Donnie's inventions going on the fritz

And no this isn't one of those swap stories where the characters inexplicably keep their original voices (which always makes zero sense imo, they switched minds not vocal chords). Just clarifying in case the use of color-coded speech bubbles causes confusion

Donnie physically cannot wear his goggles now but made up for it by giving himself eyebrows. Mikey is on a power trip soon-to-be identity crisis. Leo is suffering as the official shortest brother, but also will definitely be trying out Mikey's mystic powers soon enough. Raph is...dealing.
