I'm not here to stomp on HCs. If you want him to be trans in your mind, go ahead. But IMO he's just a very fruity biological man. In the Madagascar universe they had lemur queens like IRL until one day a man took over and started a line of kings instead.

You know who I think IS trans? CRIMSON. Look at her colors. The way Clover always says they're "identical" even tho clearly one of them changed their fur and eye color.

we REALLY could've used a Clover & Crimson backstory episode

we know soooo little about the crimclo parents and their relationship to rose.

The only thing we learned about their mom: she didn't approve of Clover training with Rose.

The only we learned about their dad: Rose once disapprovingly told Crimson she's just like her father.

According to Crimson, she was the parents' favorite. She said this to hurt Clover.

According to Crimson, actually Clover was the one they were proud of. She said this to explain to Clover why she's always hurting her.

IS THIS IT? IS THIS REALLY IT? And there is something soo twisty about Crimson's "I'm mean to you because I won their approval" -> "actually wait I'm mean because YOU won their approval" pipeline, when the only thing we know for sure is Clover did NOT have her mom's approval over something that was really important to her. Also, the fact that crimson can't explain anything she does except through the lens of competition.

Theme 5 Rivals

for today's theme I decided to write about my favorite rivalry in AHKJ

the sister rivalry between Clover and Crimson

it all started in the season two episode Crimson and Clover in this episode Crimson made her debut and although their rivalry was not the main element of the plot of this episode the seeds were planted here which will become the basis for future episodes

for the real rivalry between them we have to wait until Crimson's next appearance in the next episode The Man in the Iron Booty

in this episode we see a serious rivalry with Crimson trying to kill Clover and we see them actually fighting each other

then we have to wait until season three episode Jungle Games for the next portion of their rivalry, and I will say here we learned an interesting thing and more or less such that Clover is ready to compromise her views in the name of rivalry with Crimson (she was ready to cheat)

then Crimson appeared for a moment at the end of season three in the episode Eye of the Clover where she helped Clover avenge their grandmother's death, and she said quite interestingly that she and Clover have a lot of problems between them (yes Crimson this doesn't even begin to describe your train wreck of a sisterly relationship)

then apart from a brief appearance in Exiled Crimson doesn't show up until the very end of the series where she and Clover compete with each other for the last time (unfortunately over who will marry Sage) and in the very last episode the sisters finally make peace with each other

I'll say this, their rivalry is great, their whole sisterly relationship is beautifully complicated and has really great story potential, unfortunately I feel like AHKJ writers really dropped the ball here and wasted good story potential

a lot more could have been done with their rivalry and their relationship
