If you've been following me or reading through my blog, you might notice I've posted recently about Pastra. More specifically the Jeff The Killer rewrite they did. Now watching that got me to watch a stream they did a few months back on quinnamon's channel with some other people where they talked about the Jeff the killer fandom, and I left a comment on that video regarding an observation I've had stuck in my head for a while now about internet media in general that I feel the need to also voice here because I find it so fascinating.
With that context out of the way, here's my copy pasted (but slightly cleaned up) analysis of human mythology and memetic evolution of stories and canons as it pertains to the internet, creepypasta OCs, popular AU fanfiction, Star Wars, and The Bible:
The Jeff The Killer OC rabbithole reminds me of the Undertale AU community. The Undertale community in general has people convincing themselves that fan additions are canon, but the OC fanfic network of OCs being made to interact with other OCs is the same thing basically, except with the multiverse involved. Which, I'm told, was also the main basis of the Onceler fandom beyond the initial selfcest pairing.
But as I mentioned it also reminds me of the Undertale fandom in general and over there, there are arguments about what is fanon and what is canon to this day. Canon is a term we invented because of similar arguments regarding religion, more specifically christianity. The modern depiction of both hell and Lucifer are based on fanfiction, that being Dante's Inferno and Paradise Lost. Which goes to show that religion and mythology is just a big web of fanfiction that becomes considered canon with time and popularity. Its all a game of telephone but with people intentionally changing stuff to add OCs or headcanons. As another commenter pointed out, this is also the entire basis of Arthurian Legend. And I've also seen people make comparisons between fandom and religion plenty of times, notably, someone once said that people argue over star wars canon down to the smallest details as special editions or original edition, and they treat it the same way different denominations of Christianity treat the different versions of the Bible that exist. And I can see exactly what they mean by that and they have a point
The thing is though, is that the internet allows these things, like Creepypasta OCs, and AU versions of characters, to happen much faster and without being nearly as limited by geographical concerns. It's like a sped up, but less mainstream, version of that phenomenon. People say comics are the modern american mythology or whatever, and its kinda true, but this is how it really works, because this is entirely in the hands of the people and there is no true canon.
In conclusion, Jeffrey Woods is Sans Undertale who is also Jesus Christ, none of which actually have those last names by the way. Thanks for reading.

I hate how anti cringe fandoms have become: “He wouldn’t say that,"  “That’s not accurate to the canon”, “OC x canon is gross”
Where’s your sense of wonder? Where’s your sense of embracing cringe?
I’m just saying,You wouldn’t have survived 11-year-old creepypasta fans in 2014 who had never read any of the source material and just pretended that all the creepy pastas lived in a mansion together.

Have you ever been with any humans romantically before?
Yes I have, unfortunately they’ve all long since died. I have no gender preferences. It’s too bad that humans lives are so short, I still think about them sometimes.

Explaining my most recent OCs part 5 (the final part): dot (full name: dothelhin the all-powerful)
Tumblr media
Dot was born in the deep cosmos of space as an eldritch creature; as they grew and learned how to control their powers, they developed an interest in horror and all things macabre which soon turned to them essentially making it their whole brand. Dot especially got a kick out of possessing various pieces of fiction and scaring mortals by doing so. One day in the mid 2000's they found an arcade in ohio and saw it as a perfect oppertunity to give some good scares, while there they met pixel: a ghost who haunts the arcade and poly: a robotic creature of unknown origin, dot befriended the two creatures and decided to live at the arcade with them
While dot is roughly estimated to be thousands of years old, they behave a LOT like a high school freshman in the sense that they're extremely overdramatic and loud-mouthed with the teenage angst to boot! I even imagine their theme song is the dotEXE remix of monster by meg and dia....y'know, to REALLY push that early gen Z fandom culture feel!
Like their ref sheet shows: dot is able to create portals and open pocket dimensions. One of said pocket dimensions is made to look like an emo kid's bedroom and when dot is feeling REALLY emotional, they go there to calm down (plus it's really funny to imagine them throwing a bitchfit and instead of stomping up to their room and slamming the door they just REALLY aggressively open a pocket dimension and slam the opening)
Dot is also REALLY into blogging, they often talk about their time in the arcade and the kind of pranks they pull but nobody actually believes any of it to be real and just think that dot's blog is some kind of horror art project or even an ARG!
Just like pixel, dot LOVES pulling pranks and causing mischief! Though much to pixel's dismay, dot is a lot more cruel with them than she is so they have a sort of friendly rivalry going on. On the flipside, dot has a sort of "mordecai and rigby" esque friendship with poly and they often call him "big P" as a nickname.

Some concept sketches for EWJ.AVI! I plan on drawing over these to use as potential frames. Of course I can’t animate and it’ll take too long either way, so there’ll just be stills.
Here’s some in-progress ones and some sneak peaks!

Me when I hyperfixate on a character, ready to blorbify them, just for them to literally just be satan oh my god I hate my life- (and I mean LITERALLY. They were a vessel for satan to take souls and all personality traits aren’t real. 😀)

People will be like, “cringe culture is dead” “fuck cringe culture and don’t let anyone bully you for what you like ” and then proceed to make fun of/shit on the following
-Disney Adults(obviously we should be boycotting Disney rn but adults are allowed to like “childish” things along with stories about fairytales and magical wonder)
-Adults who enjoy any type of kids media(unless you’re sexualizing the child characters in the series or shipping the child characters with adults then yeah that’s gross. Also not all bronies/male mlp fans are gross creeps)
-Fangirls or fanboys of any kind
-Minors literally just existing(and yall wonder why kids wanna grow up so fast, because adults/older people are making fun of/complain about them for anything they do)
-Skinny Twink tumblr sexyman character designs and people who are attracted to them
-Skinny twink anime male character designs and people who are attracted to them(or any attractive male or female anime character designs tbh)
-Tumblr sexymen in general
-Anyone’s own headcanon human designs for non human characters you personally don’t find appealing(yes I mean people who make Twink/anime human designs for non human characters too. Although if you’re making a fat character skinny and or whitewashing a non white character then don’t do that)
-Creepypasta
-Anime lovers(yes including the ones who larp as anime characters, Naruto run, owning a death note notebook, ect.)
-Danganronpa(obviously there’s a lot of stuff in Danganronpa that’s not good but most people have this misconception that we are okay with the sexualizing of the minor characters or the Nazi skull thingy on Kokichi’s hat, racism, ect. Most of us don’t like that stuff AT ALL. We just wanna enjoy the story and different characters. People can like something while still criticizing it)
-People who discover music through TikTok
-Female gojo fans/any female who simps for any of the jjk men(I’m literally holding off on trying to catch up on jjk because I don’t wanna be made fun of for liking Toji..as for Sukuna, if you’re gonna simp for him, do it for who he was before he possessed Yuji because Sukuna is currently possessing a 15 year old)
-Character x listener audios(Especially the MHA ones)
-My hero Academia
-Twilight(yes there’s a lot of valid criticisms for the movie and book series but no one should be made fun of for liking them)
-People who enjoy spicy books/fanfiction
-VTubers/PNGtubers
-Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss
-People who like cutecore and or cutegore(kawaiicore/kawaii kei and or gurokawaii)
-People who wear alternative fashion/alternative people in general(yes the “2020 alt kids” and bunny hat alt kids count too along with e-girls)
-People who are into jfashion/kawaii fashion(especially people who wear Lolita and jojifuku. Lolita fashion has nothing to do with the book or for “trying to impress men”nor is it a fetish thing it’s just about wearing poofy frilly dresses and looking cute. As for jojifuku, jojifuku is NOT AN INHERENTLY BAD FASHION IT WAS NEVER SUPPOSED TO BE SEXUALIZED AT ALL CREEPS/PEDOS HAVE JUST TAINTED ITS REPUTATION ITS ALSO JUST ABOUT LOOKING CUTE. I’d also like to say that jfashion does count as alternative fashion too)
-People who dress “childish” in general
-Age regression(that’s not supposed to be sexualized either. Age regression is a coping mechanism not a fetish or kink.)
-Furries
-Beginner artists/animators/artists and animators that aren’t beginners but are still learning
-Animation memes
-People who selfship with fictional characters(including men. Men should be allowed to selfship too)
-“Marysue” ocs/characters
-self inserts
-Shoujo romance stories
-Miraculous Ladybug
-Genshin impact(same thing as I said with Danganronpa. You can like something while also criticizing it. As a black person who likes Genshin I hate mihoyo for their racism and colorism but I still enjoy the story and its characters. Also stop making fun of the short male characters’ body types. Y’all wanna preach about body positivity but then make fun of the body types of Xiao, Cyno, Tighnari even though there’s people WHO HAVE THOSE BODY TYPES IN REAL LIFE)
-Anything that seems too happy or too whimsical
-Fnaf
-Gamers
-Poppy Playtime
-People who simp for characters that you personally don’t consider attractive
-Cosplayers(yes even the ones who lipsync to music and do dances/poses)
-BL or GL(it is possible to enjoy these things without fetishizing gay people in the process)
-Anime art styles with big eyes(big eyes has always been a staple in most if not all anime art styles, but I’m more or so talking about the 2000’s anime art style along with Kamichama Karin)
-Yandere characters(most people find comfort in this trope because they wanna feel loved by someone. Most people who like yanderes don’t want an irl stalker)
-Undertale/Deltarune
-Skibidi toilet memes
-Sanrio/Hello Kitty girls
-Steven Universe
-The Amazing Digital Circus
-Marvel fans
-Sonic
-Cookie Run/Cookie Run Kingdom
-LPS and LPS YouTube videos
-People who enjoy kpop or jpop
-Wattpad fanfics/fanfiction in general
-“Wattpad Y/N”
-Y/N
- the concept of a “cringy Y/N”/Comparing characters to that type of Y/N archetype. Just because you don’t see yourself in most “typical Y/N” fics doesn’t mean other people don’t nor is there anything wrong with those types of Y/Ns
If you preach against cringe culture but turn back around and make fun of what I listed above then you’re not actually against cringe culture

Ok here’s my two cents that no one asked for on the current (sort of?) debate going on in the Creepypasta fandom on here rn.
For starters, I grew up with Creepypasta. I also grew up mentally ill. I am also autistic. So I know my way around good and bad mental health rep at this point. And to be honest? A lot of the original stories DID suck balls at representation or just horror writing in general.
However, nowadays I see other people on here, often mentally ill or any other social outcast, taking these characters and reshaping them as their own to fit their own feelings and experiences, and I don’t think anyone has the authority to criticize things like that. Cringe culture is supposed to be dead anyways, nevermind the fact it’s inherently ableist at its core.
We also need to take into account kids still exist in the fandom. Pre teens who got tired of shit like scooby doo and wanted something more “mature” or “edgy” to get into without fully going off the deep end into full blown horror movies. At least that’s how it was for me. Not everyone, especially someone who’s younger, is gonna be comfortable with the grit and gore a lot of Creepypasta “purists” are pushing for these days, and that’s okay! When a fandom gets popular it’s always inevitable and unavoidable to have the popular characters get two dimensionalized.
There’s also the whole mascot horror thing that I don’t wanna get into, but I’m 90% sure that also plays a part in the old favorites like Jeff and slenderman being brought up again. They were and still are recognizable characters. Recognizable characters aren’t a bad thing. Making horror more approachable for younger audiences isn’t a bad thing. People having their own interpretations based out of their own experiences isn’t a bad thing.
Some of us grew up and wanted the more edgy and reality based content, and that’s also not a bad thing! But neither side should be dictating or policing how the other enjoys content in this fandom. If you personally don’t like the way something is written, characterized, depicted, or drawn, no one’s forcing you to look at it. No one’s claiming it as canon. No one’s asking for you to accept it as the end all be all.
At the end of the day this fandom was built on OCs and personal depictions of stuff. I can’t name a single character or story in this community that was created by some outside party like a movie or TV studio FIRST (because I know some got so popular they breached the fandom and got their own shows/movies/comics/etc). Everything here was created by someone who wanted an outlet for their creativity, or their pain, or their coping, or whatever else.
Realism and dark headcanons aren’t bad, and neither are any of the headcanons out there who just wanna make a goofy found family of social rejects as a form of escapism.
A 13 year old drawing a fictional layout of a fictional mansion where these fictional characters live isn’t going to suddenly invalidate the horror, I promise, it’s not that deep and it never was.
A 22 year old making a dark comic on the realistic origins of Jeff who is a fictional character in a fictional world isn’t going to suddenly invalidate the more softhearted side of the fandom.
Sure, there can still be a split if people are so adamant about that, but as someone who personally enjoys both the brutal horror side and the “haha Jeff is 15 and gay” sides equally, y’all need to at least learn to be civil to anyone who has a different headcanon than you. And if that seems like too much still, the block button exists for a reason.
TL:DR this fandom is based entirely off OCs and headcanons and people can do whatever the fuck they want because none of it is real and horror comes in many shapes and sizes and intensities and no one should be bashing anyone on their headcanons or views or rewrites or whatever else.
EDIT:
Actually wait I think I have more to say-
Horror, like any genre, has NO AGE LIMIT. And by that I mean, if someone younger wants to delve into scary stuff, they should be allowed to do so without criticism. I personally grew up on “child friendly” horror media like Scooby-Doo, and the older I got the more horror I wanted to experience.
There’s no right or wrong way to “understand” horror, and I frankly think it’s ignorant and stupid to say if you don’t fully “understand” something, then you shouldn’t be involved in it at all. Horror isn’t always about gore and unspeakable violence and the eldritch entity that wants everyone’s skin inside out. That’s why horror has sub genres for fucks sake. Gut wrenching brutality against innocent people isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and that’s okay!
However, bashing anyone’s tamer headcanons, or calling anything anyone interprets differently than you “stupid”, that’s not okay. God, I feel like an exhausted parent giving this lecture to fellow adults, but this really needs to be said and stressed.
I am an adult. I like when stuff in the fandom takes a dark turn. But for nostalgia’s sake, I also love the fanon so much, because that’s what I was exposed to.
And for fucks sake if it comes down to picking sides, I would rather stick with the part of this fandom that gives zero shits how you see a character as long as you’re having fun.
You can have your serial killer 30 year old Jeff and your canon-accurate-to-that-one-image eyeless Jack, but don’t shit on other people if they don’t want the same thing. Your interpretation isn’t canon, and neither is anyone else’s for that matter.
Realistic, dark, gritty Creepypasta isn’t a new concept, and neither is “adult” Creepypasta. And by the way, Creepypasta was never stated to be for adults. That’s like saying kids and only kids can eat trix cereal. It sounds that stupid on paper.
Let people interpret things the way they wanna interpret. No one is infringing on YOUR character ideas. Creepypasta has no age limit, nor a set way the horror has to be presented. Those who do continue to claim that just sound like pretentious assholes.
Very small side note, I personally think it’s inappropriate and rude to keep using Toby as a “bad example” of mental health rep when the creator has stated multiple times the character is old, not researched, and not even in the fandom anymore. Leave the poor guy alone.

Creepypasta Server Announcement!
Hello! Are you a Creepypasta fan? Do you want to hang out somewhere cool and fun? Rejoice, because I and @reaminaart have made our own Creepypasta Community Discord server!
The Basics:
- This server is mainly focused on sharing Creepypasta-related art, stories, and headcanons! We also want to focus on building a really relaxing, yet fun social space for Creepypasta fans to meet, roleplay, tell jokes, and share ideas.
- Our rules are fairly simple, and as someone who has moderated quite a few servers in the past, I am determined to make this server a safe and fun place for all who join.
- There is a 16+ age limit. No sexual content is allowed in any channel.
What we Have:
- A comfortable, organized space to hang out and talk.
- Places to share your art and thoughts, and people who will actually respond and engage with you!
- A concise, no-frills channel system, with moderators who will listen and consider your suggestions for new channels, categories, and/or essential bots!
- An entire roleplay category of channels, where you can request your own, self-moderated channel for any specific plotlines, characters, or scenarios you want to roleplay! OCs are allowed and encouraged! No character applications required, no character reservations, and no limit to the amount of characters you can play.
What we Don't Have:
- Drama, exclusionism, judgment, promotion of cringe culture, spamming, and non-consensual assholery is explicitly banned. We will do our best to keep that out!
- We do not have a moderator/non-moderator social heirarchy. Outside of the ability to perform necessary server functions, moderators are members of the server like anyone else.
- A lot of our server is currently a Work-in-Progress. However, any and all suggestions for improvement will be taken into consideration.
- We don't have you! Our server is very quiet and empty right now. We'd like you and your friends to change that!
If all of this sounds cool to you, join us at:
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to message me here, or add me on Discord! (laughingjackinabox)
See you there!

Ok
This bitch on tiktok was arguing with me about creepypasta (dont ask. idk why it's on my fyp either, I left that fandom when I was 16).
It was about people mixing CRPs and Marble Hornets and changing Brian and Tim into Slenderman's (The Operator's) proxies rather than his enemies as they are in Marble Hornets.
He was tryna tell me that if you mix them together and change it like that, you are "media illiterate" and are "uneducated in fandom culture." Let's get one thing straight - Marble Hornets did not create The Operator. The Operator is literally just Slenderman renamed. Sorry, not sorry to break it to anyone who didn't know; you've had over a decade to watch it. Slenderman was one of the OG creepypastas that blew up. It's not even a different version of him in the series. It's just exactly him with a different name.
So (and correct me if I'm wrong) (I'm not), that makes Tim (Masky) and Brian (Hoodie) a creepypasta's enemies.
WHICH MEANS THEY ARE TECHNICALLY CREEPYPASTA OCS AND THEREFORE YOU CAN HAVE A SILLY LIL HEADCANON THAT THEY ARE HIS PROXIES.
It's technically not even mixing fandoms, bc, again, Slenderman is a CRP, and Marble Hornets uses Slenderman as the main villain, meaning Marble Hornets is basically a CRP web series.
Now...
I grew up watching Marble Hornets while simultaneously loving creepypasta stories. But even though I knew they were different veins of a similar subject, I still enjoyed the silly little stories people made with them mixed like that.
Do I mix them now that I'm an adult? No. But I'm not going to lie and say I never did. And I'm also not going to shit on people who still enjoy that dynamic.
It's not "mischaracterization" and it's not "media illiteracy". It's quite simply just having fun with different medias.
Mixing fandoms is, like, a large aspect of the fandom world.
An example based on the first fandom I started writing for: MHA. A pretty popular au for it is Spiderman despite them being vastly different medias.
It's just a small, fun thing that people do.
I know I'm rambling, and that this is out of left field. I just don't get why this man at his big age of 34 had to get so up in a tizzy about two fandoms (that I would argue are technically one fandom) being mixed together by a bunch of 10 year olds to the point of cursing people out and writing whole ass thesis papers in the comments on why he disagrees and that he's right and you're wrong because "how dare you have fun with the content you consume😡😤".
But that's just me.
