So glad someone noticed that, I was originally going to have him name EVERYONE except Boost but then I was like “nah, Mania is just too annoying for Paradox to tolerate him”

Well, starting with the obvious, Paradox goes to therapy as I’ve mentioned which I think is hilarious. He and Lance are the only Shadows who really have their shit together which is why I think Sonadow works well for them? (we stan healthy relationships guys)

I do head canon that Eight doesn’t like being touched really at all anymore. After the metal virus, he grew so used to the fact that he couldn’t touch anyone that it sorta just stuck. He does it to save people, but not anything more. :(

And while I’m a sucker for the Trans Sonic HC I decided not to implement it in this particular AU!

I really want to include Captain Sonic and Shadow, but I haven’t played nor watched a serious play through of the game. (I’ve only really listened to a bit of the Snapcube dub..)

can someone tell me if Shadow is a Barista or a Mechanic in that game btw?? I google it, nothing pops up. I could’ve sworn there was something about a mechanic.

Uhh I LOVE Sonic Frontiers, fire game. If I include that one, it’ll ALSO be Sonamy since I’m pretty sure that game takes place before SA2 in canon?

I’m trying to keep the Sonics and Shadows balanced but I’d love to add Generations Shadow and Sonic. Just thinking of names already I get “Doom” for Shadow and “Emerald” for Sonic. (Referencing the fake emerald from their interaction in the shadow story)

Unfortunately I haven’t seen the Archie comics or Sonic Underground so I wouldn’t even know where to begin.

Someone also asked about if I’d ever include different AU’s: maybe if those AU creators gave me permission I’d be down to do a collab for a few asks or something!

Ahahah just kidding! But I am very fast. A few years ago I convinced myself I was a “slow drawer” because I was in a discord server with someone I looked up to (and holy cheese they could draw out fully articulate sketches in like 30 seconds!)

So I got insecure and taught myself to draw really fast. So now I just.. zoom! This does have a terrible draw back where I will very frequently forget smaller details.

Like if you look at half the posts, Shadow is missing his eyeliner and other markings frequently.

I notice a lot of people (rightfully) complain about the Black Rose arc coming out of nowhere. I think the bigger problem was the Glorious Evolution arc. Once Viktor shows up in space with white hair, his and Jayce's story and the Anomaly practically bulldoze any grounding the plot has to the rest of the cast. It was so beautiful, but just as unnecessary in its execution too.

I firmly believe s2 should have stuck with with Act 1 with 3/5ths to 3/4ths of its runtime and keep that trajectory. Would that have made s2 infinitely better? No. The writers have weird priorities that bias them against actually examining the implications of their story. But they would have been forced to keep the cast together and are less likely to send them off to alternate timelines/pocket dimensions to learn lessons that didn't need to be learned in alternate timelines/pocket dimensions.

I'm proud of writing a story that makes people laugh even during the intense moments.

I'm proud that I decided to take this chance and write what will probably be my longest story yet when I'm done.

I'm proud I made a non binary lead with Neo pronouns. Similar to what I wish I was brave enough to use in my life.

I'm proud I made something that mixes some of the unsettling horror elements I rotted my brain with as a kid.

I'm proud I found recipes to go with the bits of story as Enoki goes to craft the feast for the gods so the races are not destroyed.

No matter what. I'm proud of this. And I hope others enjoy it.

Hey, sorry, I have a question about mononoke, and, well. You seem to know a lot about it so perhaps you could find the time to answer?

I was wondering, is there any more media connected to the medicine sellers beside the bakeneko arc in Ayakashi, the Mononoke series from 2007 and the recent movie?

Because I saw people talking about another three movies too, and I was already quite confused by the two series and the movie and the internet wasn't really helpful ^^'

I have so far only watched Ayakashi and the series, but the new movie is next (and I am excited)! I really enjoy the memes and interpretations and other stuff on your blog, it's really funny, although I can't read some of it yet due to spoilers.

At the moment, there's no animated media for Mononoke other than the Ayakashi "Bakeneko" arc, the series, and the movie Karakasa (Chinese Umbrella), which has the alternate title Phantom in the Rain. However, there are two movies planned as sequels to Karakasa. Those three movies will be a trilogy, and that's probably what you've seen people talking about.

We don't yet know the name of the third movie. The second one will be called Hinezumi (Fire Rat), and has also been given the alternate title Ashes of Rage.

As for non-animated media, there are...

Manga adaptations for every arc of the series. I think all have been translated into English. I haven't tried to hunt them down, but I'm guessing they wouldn't be too difficult to find.

Two manga adaptations of Ayakashi "Bakeneko." They're both by the artist who also adapted the other arcs, but one version is more recent. At least one has been translated—I think both—but I haven't looked for them either.

A manga adaptation of Karakasa, created by the movie's character designer. As far as I know, only the first six chapters are available, and they've been translated into English by @naonoholics [1-2] [3-4] [5-6]

A light novel adaptation of Karakasa. I don't know if it's available in English anywhere.

Stage plays of Ayakashi "Bakeneko" and "Zashiki Warashi." I think the "Zashiki Warashi" play is or was available on DVD/Bluray, but only from Japan and in Japanese. I'm not sure if there's a recording of "Bakeneko," or if any other stories were adapted this way.

Spinoff light novels called Mononoke Shu and Mononoke Oni. @the-mononoke-facade has translated all of the stories from Shu and the first story from Oni.

I think that's it for official media. Pretty much everything is an adaptation of one kind or another, except for the spinoff novels.

There is a bunch of backstory connected to the Medicine Sellers, which isn't discussed in the media at all except for a brief mention in Karakasa. The creator flung it at us quite unceremoniously this past summer. If you're not familiar with it, the posts linked here cover most of what we know.

Sometimes I think about how Kenny was just intended to be South Park's literal running gag and punching bag and some of us just found him endearing despite of that. Like I'm pretty sure Matt & Trey never intended to give Kenny more attention than they had to let alone give him any lore or any superhero alter egos. In fact there was a point where they literally tried to kill him off for good. But there was something charming about him maybe it was his simple orange hooded design, maybe it was because no matter how many times or how he died he'd always return like the badass we saw him as...maybe it was his selfless heroic nature, maybe a mix of all the above. I don't know I just love how this unlucky immortal boi feels so special to me and a good number of other fans even if he was just literally created to die for laughs. He's certainly somehow became a lot more than the literal punching bag he was meant to be.
