i like to hc that sj has chronic pain from recurrent qi deviations and his terrible childhood, so sqh is not really surprised with that. he does question how on earth sy just goes with it so easily though. like peerless cucumber??? not complaining about smth on sqh's novel??? sounds very unlikely.

the (kind of) funny thing is sy was terminally ill in his prev life so he's very very used to chronic pain. it just doesn't click in his funky little brain that it's not normal. he just assumed that it was something that came along with his transmigration, so he ignores it. even the pain of without-a-cure is easily disregarded. (mqf was having a Lot of Thoughts regarding sqq's pain tolerance).

so sqh is like "BRO why aren't you saying anything about the pain??? everything hurts???"

and sy goes "what pain??? oh. oh yeah that must be from me."

depending on the timeline lqg and lbh are worried. yqy is, as always, very worried. sqh gets discovered pretty quickly bc of his hamster vibes. sy has no idea how to run an ding, but they seem to be doing pretty well without his input!! the merchants scramble to give cqm what they need when he smiles at them. (the merchants are absolutely terrified of sqh smiling).

What were the inspirations and process behind it?

my process is also very straightforward!:

1. sketch

2. clean up/lineart (optional! I really only do it on animations/commissions)

3. color

4. shade (optional!)

5. adjustments and other things afterwards!! (fixing lineart/ofther things)

every time I replay the THH chapter 1 trial I get a little more annoyed at this fucking cast. Like, I get that the reason no one investigated and all the debates are Baby Questions For Babies is because they're focusing on teaching you the mechanics with easy questions, I get that, I really do. However, having a grand total of TWO PEOPLE actually TRY investigating, and the vast majority of the cast never so much as LOOKING AT the crime scene is so fucking infuriating. Like half the trial would'nt even be necessary if anyone had actually bothered trying.

The only characters who even SEE the crime scene are Makoto, Kyoko, Mondo, Sakura, and presumably Hiro since he's the one who carried Makoto to the gym. Two of those characters were only guarding the body and did it expressly so they wouldn't have to investigate for real. One of those characters then spent the entire investigation in a panic attack(valid). Chihiro was mourning Mukuro(also valid). Literally everyone else heard Celeste read out the Monokuma File and decided they were All Done. All Done! Like guys. Guys. Byakuya and Celeste in particular. What the fuck. What the fuck guys. No wonder Leon didn't confess he probably would've been told how noble he was for not assuming the worst in Makoto 😭
