I think cross stitching is becoming a new hyper fixation 😅

NEED ONE MORE TO SUMMON! It took my longer than I care to admit to make this, but I'm happy with how it turned out. Now if it holds up to the weather, I'll be a happy camper.

Impromptu Mittens!

Not only did we get a bit of snow yesterday, we got enough snow that my daughter can make a proper snowman today. In Florida. We went outside for a bit yesterday, with her wearing my boots and my mittens that I knit from handspun yarn a couple years back. They were to big for her, seeing as she's in kindergarten and all, but they let her frolic in the snow without soaking her hands and feet.

She'll wear my boots again today, but further snow activities will require us both to have mitten-ed hands. I have plenty of handspun wool, and her hands are small, so they shouldn't take too long to make. Last night I got the first one mostly done, and this morning I got it done and started the second.

First attempt, turned out too narrow at the top because I stared the decreases too soon and did them every other round instead of every round which made it taper too much.

Undid the top to just before I started the decreases, then continued straight for a bit more and decreasing every round for a better shape.

The thumb is a bit wonky, but not so much that I can be bothered to redo it. Onto the second mitten!

I finally put together my Flower Cube Light, it was a fun little project and I think it turned out so pretty! ^_^

Kits can be found on Temu/Amazon etc. for around $5 USD. Mine didn’t come with instructions, but it was easy enough to figure out thankfully! 😅

Supplies needed: Scissors to cut the tape into strips, and a glue gun to hot-glue the pieces down. And 2-3 hours of free time ^^

To Assemble Your Flower Cube: (test light first to make sure it works!)

String the flowers onto the wire

Slide the first flower up to have the first light inside it, then twist the wires together to form the stem

Repeat until all lights have flowers

Put down a line of glue onto mirror piece, then press a line of flowers down into the glue

Keep going in a zig-zag until all flowers are glued down

Glue leaf pieces down at the base of flower stems

Glue rocks down to fill gaps between flowers (Mine ran out ^^')

Cut strips of tape and put it on each corner, then assemble mirrors into a cube

Voila! Flower cube is complete! Bask in its radiance and the fruit of your work! ^_^

I dusted off my Silhouette machine (literally…) to make some Decals To Go On Things!

First up, the Gokaiger logo, which is going on the external hard drive where we store all of our Totally Legally Obtained toku show video files.

I hope it sticks, since the surface is textured. Backup plan is to use the same design as a stencil and have my husband paint the logo on with his airbrush.

Next up is the Decade logo to go on the base of a Decade figure (which was also painted with the airbrush).

Decade is coming with us to PowerMorphicon in a couple weeks (!!) so that we can have the other side of the base signed by Masahiro Inoue (!!!)

Finally, I put the Ex-Aid logo on our neon-pink-and-green Joycons.

Technically it’s just on the green one for now. I cut out two copies but it didn’t quite fit on the other side. I’m not sure what I’ll end up doing on the pink one..it’s already as small as I can make it and still be able to get all the details right.
