A few reminders as we head into what is often the most heated bidding-war time:

Google is still being a weirdo in a variety of ways, so check those bid sheets on desktop or mobile browser + app both to be sure they’re loading all bids.

Not all forms will close right at 8pm - any bids that register with timestamps later than 8:00:05 EST will be considered invalid.

Once auction close, sit tight! If you’re a high bidder you’ll get email from us within a day or so, confirming that you are the winner and giving you the link to our new donation proof form. This is a different process than in previous years! Do not send us proof until you get this email.

Don’t forget to check out the golden needle tag to find those hidden treasures without bids - in particular, there are some really interesting offers of specialist expertise that are still looking for someone who needs that particular bit of knowledge

If you find yourself outbid on everything (or have some extra donation budget to spread around), be sure to take a look at the Fan Crafts Bazaar, which is not closing today. Individual crafters can close their stalls at any time (for example, if they run out of stock), but most will be open for at least another week.

Hello! Sorry I’m bothering you but I want to ask why am I not seeing my Friends or other supports cards in the Crafter’s Gauntlet? It was working well yesterday but today it won’t show me any card apart from the in-game support card.

I did clear cache but still no difference. What do I do?

I did check there is no filter on and no such settings because as I said, yesterday it was working fine for me.

For Rent (FR) New option to unlock the Detective career -Unlock townies AND -Have at least three sims with the evil trait in your town or Have at least ten households or Complete the Seeker of Secrets Aspiration Nifty Knitting (NK) New rule for Plopsy - Have a retail shop or thrift store and 2 worlds unlocks

Crystal Creations (CC)

Mystical Moonlight Charging Grid - Have a Spellcaster be the first to buy and use it or use it while completing the Crystal Crafter aspiration and after that it's fully unlocked New option to unlock the Scientist career -Unlock Townies AND -Reach Level 10 in the Fishing Skill or Complete one of the collections (this requirement is fulfilled when the game considers a collection to be complete; so there is no need to collect additional EP/GP items in the list that aren’t included in the “official” count) or Reach level 10 in the Gemology skill

Cupid corner app - Can be used after you unlock Townies, Services and 3 worlds. Love hotel - Have Ciudad Enamorada unlocked Attractions are similar to Like and Dislikes. It can be chosen freely Ciudad Enamorada can only be used as the third world or later. It can't de the starting world second world! Otherwise it will be a default world. Romance consultant - Level 10 Romance and the sim taking it must have the Love Bug trait

Life and Death (LD)

Occult sim Ghost is now moved away from the "can't be made in cas" section Favor can only be done when townies are unlocked and by sims living in Ravenwood Give Tarot card Reading have Ravenwood or Glimmerbrook unlocked Inheritance and wills - Have someone in the Law career AND have 4 Elder Sim pass away Wishing well (also for Romantic Garden) to use it Complete the Ghost Historian aspiration or the sim that uses it has Level 5 Gardening and Level 5 Logic. Once used it's unlocked for all. Reaper - be BFF with Grim and have unlocked 2 worlds Undertaker - Level 5 thanatology and cemetery unlocked Ravenwood - Is a special world. You can unlock with a rebirth. Cemetery - A active Sim in the BACC gets a golden Funeral

prettycolors - a Tumblr blog that posts random colours along with the hex code and this can be a helpful resource for fibrecrafters when they are trying to pick a colour for their project(s).

colour-palettes - a blog that posts user submitted colour palettes and I think that this blog can also be used as inspiration for fibrecrafters when selecting colours to use in their project(s).

Swatches - this app allows you to swatch colours from photos as well as being able to swatch colours in real time.

John James Needle Guide - a guide to different types of needle and their uses.

Cable Patterns - allows you to make your own cable patterns for knitting

RSN collection and archive- photographs of objects in the Royal School of needle work collection. The first 100 objects have just been digitised and put online.

Hand exercises for knitters- these can also be used by other crafters in general

Things that I suggest you buy

A colour wheel - this will enable you to choose the best colours for your projects

Multicoloured cases - this box filled with multicoloured cases will help you to organise your threads ant to easily take them on the go.

Plastic embroidery hoops- I find that plastic hoops are able to maintain tension and keep your projects drum tight.

Embroidery Floss Organisers- these help you to keep all of the various colours that you are using in your projects in one convenient place.

Pellon Stick-N-Washaway Embroidery Stabilizer - allows you to trace or print out your design and stick it onto your fabric, stitch over it and then wash it off once you’re done.

I’m thinking about sewing/crocheting small items and selling online/doing some local craft fairs to earn a little money while I’m looking for a permanent job. Do you have any suggestions, success stories, or things to avoid?

Ten years ago I would've said start with Etsy, but I actually shut my shop down completely last year because they've destroyed the site. It's a waste of time and money now. I haven't really had any success online outside of Etsy, so I can't help you there.

Craft shows are a whole different animal. I'm about to start my fourth year at our local farmers market. I find that people show up to a farmers market expecting to spend money, and to a craft show just to get out of the house. Some people need to see you around for a while before they get around to buying, so if you get in somewhere consistent, don't worry if your first couple of weeks go really poorly.

The square app + chip reader (you don't need the whole terminal thing) is, in my experience, the most convenient way to take non cash payments, which is a good thing to do if you're doing any shows regularly. Consistently half of my income is card / tap. But keep in mind that you will likely (depending on your state laws) have to take and remit sales tax if you do any electronic payments. It's not at all a difficult thing to do in Ohio, but I don't know about elsewhere.

Seasonal things go over really well, especially anything pumpkin themed. There are accusations thrown around all the time on places like tiktok about crafters allegedly buying things from China and reselling them, so having something there to work on so people can immediately see that you're the creator goes a long way.

The thing you don't like will definitely be the most popular.

Nobody will read your beautifully designed and printed signs. Cardstock and black sharpie is your only hope.

Have a wide range of prices. Mine are anywhere from $1-$40. And remember that people looking for deals should not be at a craft show, so don't let them bully you 😂

Yes, the TikTok ban motivated me to come back here but I've had this profile sitting unused for a while as I couldn't find a good way to jump back in, and ..well....the TT ban was a convenient personal segue.

But I've been meaning to come back here anyway to post and share my art and whatever other creative thing I'm up to. It'll be fandom heavy (think 2009 ish) and VERY SAPPHIC

I left this app around the time Orphan Black was peaking (I thiiink?) and when the app was still new and mistrusted. I witnessed so many Tumblr specific events from before 2017...but had left due to mental health reasons (unrelated to this site) but am now back for take 2 electric boogaloo...that is to say, I'm not a new user. I'm a returning user and hoping the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th time around will stick 😅
