I know intellectually that Orym's heartfelt, "Ash, you saved me," was probably Liam stirring the simmering Dorym pot, since Dorian teleported Orym out of danger while uncomscious, especially with Dorian mouthing something like "But I was the one who..." and Liam giving Robbie that cute smirk afterwards...

But since Orym doesn't know that, in my heart Orym was referring not just to the potion that Ashton gave him, but to how Ashton reacted to the last incident with Delilah, and the perspective he provided on Laudna needing to be able to trust them and how it feels to be the villain, because I feel like Orym was edging towards a different path (I think Liam alluded to it on a 4sd or something) that would have been evident in this battle, but seeing Ashton's reaction last time helped pull him back to the kind person he wants to be, who put down his sword and tried to help his friend...

none of which Orym would ever say in full because he's pretty reserved about himself, but it would bleed out when he responded to being given a healing potion by saying, in that tone of voice, "Ash, you saved me."

As you turn back into the chamber, you are now suddenly within a blood red rock tunnel, as you see pieces of metal scattered across the ground. Matt (as "FCG"): "Not so smiley day, is it?

"I was waiting for you to do something. I didn't want to make this choice, why did you let me die?"

Ashton: "First off, whoever you are, you are not making friends with this right now."

Matt (as "FCG"): "You said you've always been waiting for it. Were you hoping? You were hoping, weren't you? Waiting for a chance to make me do what you couldn't bring yourself to do."

Ashton: *scoffs* "Oh. My god.

"I'm just going to walk right to that fucking little robot. I'm going to get right down in his face.

"Don't you even pull that bullshit with me. You know damn well how much energy I put into getting this bullshit out of your head. So fuck you, child."

Matt: "The cracked lens flashes from blue to red as the hand grabs the front of you, and pulls it close, eye to eye. The energy of the remnants of FCG grow softer."

Matt (as "FCG"): "I cannot pass on, Ashton. My soul, the one you all knew was there, it's stuck in these ruins. The place of my birth. The place of my eternal torment. Only you can set me free, Ashton. Find the crystal in the engine. Destroy it. And my spirit will find peace."

Ashton: *drawn out, exasperated sigh* "You know you can just fucking talk to us, you don't need to play these fucking head games! It doesn't. Make us. Like you. Make a deal."

Matt: "The hand dislodges from your chest and clatters to the ground, falling into seven pieces."

Ashton: "And how fucking dare you." *scoffs again* "Tempted to leave you in that damn thing for this shit.

CR3 EPISODE 98 SPOILERS

???????????? im not sure where to start or end.

lets just start with how incredibly beautiful the cast looked at the live show. and how much i enjoyed seeing both brennan and aabria present (we will get to brennan again in a second)

as far as the actual episode, i think this episode is both one of the best episodes and one of my favourite episodes. dominox's visions were brutal but it was really interesting seeing how the hells handled them. chetney and dorian seemed the most affected, and honestly chetney's was the most mindfuck-y, but the way that ashton and imogen just got to the root of the manipulation, trying to reach out to dominox.... *chefs kiss*

i loved the mystery of this episode... smth abt how creepy dominox is and bells hells going back and forth on what they should do with it/him/her. dominox manifesting as a little girl was so??? creepy but also the greatest shit ever, i found it so compelling and far scarier than the big scary demon form. something something the corruption of innocence something something

it is really fucked up to give ashton that fcg vision just after sam got back to the table... like that was just twisting the knife deeper and deeper.

we NEED to lock braius up or something, i thought fearne was the most horny poly pc with chetney but GOD he really locked tf in as soon as he took bells hells in. in all seriousness i cannot wait for more braius (in like....a fucking MONTH I CANT DO THIS ANYMORE). interested in whatever the fuck he's got going on with dorian, ashton and fearne... will need him to flirt with chetney cause we didnt get around to it.

speaking of fearne... teven saying they're bound together and expressing desire to have her join him in the hells... love toxic romance idc. also him saying he's bound to a lot of people and then fearne saying SHE IS TOO??? can y;all stop the ship wars now please how much more explicit can fearne get about being poly and not wanting or needing to CHOOSE. hell... ashton literally keeps flriting with other dudes, i.e: essek, and now braius. HERE'S HOW POLY HELLS CAN FINALLY BECOME REAL.

bells hells morality in question is always my favourite bit at the table becausse like... they're good people, i guess but really they care more about each other than other people. (and then theres orym who is just a little guy with trauma... he'll match our freak eventually)

LUDINUS APPEARANCE WAS SO INCREDIBLY INSANE LIKE HE WAS WAY TOO CASUAL ABOUT IT AND THAT WAS SO FUNNY TO ME. GOD. AM I IN LOVE WITH LUDA??? (a little yeah). tag teaming dominox with ludinus is literally the greatest shit ever i am so SO sorry keyleth i know we were supposed to kill him on sight or whatever (and they did attack him immediately) but i want to ask him my silly little questions.

i have never thought that ludinus was... wrong, idealogically, as the discourse can have us going in circles, i mostly just dont like people who murder hundreds for their own agendas. however comma i do love a motivated hot old man with religious trauma.

whatever the hell ludinus found... if it shifts bells hells' reality to the point they join him (unlikely but not totally impossible) i will lose my fucking mind. regardless i WANT ludinus to do what he said he said he wanted to do -- show exandria what the gods want BURIED.

Surprised your little react to CR3-98 didn't include a reaction to Dominox pushing the FCG button with Ashton. That shit was deliciously cruel.

Sometimes I am too invested in actually watching to comment on the events, which I'm aware kinda defeats the purpose of a liveblog, but 😂

In that case I think I just didn't have much to say. It was very predictable that Dominox would go for that part of it, so I think my brain just went "ah yeah, that would be the thing to get Ashton with, huh"

WAIT hold on hi abt the tags on the post about terfs being stupid about periods you reblogged - does HRT really end up causing similar hormone change cycles to periods? i've never heard abt that before and it's kind of boggling my mind because on the one hand why WOULDN'T HRT do that but on the other hand why WOULD it?

for wip wednesday, a wee peek of that shadowgast fake marriage au i talked about on the weekend, tell me what you think

And Essek is without an escape plan. 

Trapped masterfully in an endgame he’s failed to see occurring in the shadows around him. He let his old arrogance ruin him, he should have seen the knife coming long before he felt it in his back. 

“A welcome union between our Den’s, long overdue,” The world screeches back into focus as Deirta offers the usual platitudes and Ulric Tasithar nods along, barely containing his smirk, a plan well executed and just a moment away from being finalised. The clock ticks ominously in the back of the room and Essek feels every second like a vice around his chest. 

So Essek does something he’s rarely done before. He panics. 

“I’m afraid that won’t be possible,” he says, a touch too loudly. The only visible sign he’s not in full control of himself. 

His mother sniff’s haughtily, fully aware he has no way out and not in the mood to indulge his silver tongue’s attempt to earn his freedom. Or at least a moment’s reprieve to think. “My boy you -”

“I’m already married,” Essek states as calmly as he can, trying not to show the cold panic that has settled into every inch of him. His mother blinks at the outburst, momentarily stunned. A good thing, with Deirta on the back foot he could wrangle a way out of this horrible situation. After all, the Umavi of Den Thelyss had been expecting cool, calculated arguments from him. 

Not this. 

And in all honesty neither had he. 

Outwardly he is calm, relaxed in his seat and presenting an aura of control as he lets the statement settle like dust on the furniture. Internally Essek desperately tries to fumble together something to cover for his outlandish declaration. 

It’s not unusual to bypass the pomp and circumstance of a public wedding for a quieter affair but he can tell from the faces around the table that they can see it for what it is. A desperate attempt to maintain his freedom. 

“It was a lovely ceremony,” Uraya pipes up and Essek exhales slowly to avoid doubling over in gasping relief. He could kiss his dear friend. A witness, a respected one at that, adds more weight to Essek’s words and he looks less like a child clamouring for any exit and more like a man in control of the situation.  

“To who?” Deirta asks stonily. 

Fuck, Essek thinks sharply.
