Imogen was never someone who the gods really cared for, and now she is going to make this power of the god eater her own so she can actually sit down at a table and invite them to a conversation on her terms, for their own good.

The Exandrian pantheon is stuck in an endless cycle of the trolly problem. They will choose sacrificing mortals, 10/10 times. Even the Everlight, when given the choice in Aeor, chose to stay and play her part in destroying the city, over her very real flesh and blood children, who were actively being threatened by devils sent by the very god she was staying to protect.

There is genuine love and care for mortals, but it will never be enough.

Bells Hells, especially Imogen, understands this, and have taken it upon themselves to help build a different track. Fuck the trolly problem, they are making a new option and leveling the goddamn playing ground.

Imogen Temult continues to show the most empathy of any being on Exandria. She was just told that the pantheon, who vouched for, and sent Bells Hells on this mission via the Exandrian Concord, are currently sending forces to lock her in the prison of a god eater. Sacrificing her, so they can bury the threat for another force to dig up in the future. They used her as cannon fodder, and she is still so willing to give them another option. I don't want to ever hear someone call her selfish. She has every reason to ignore their pleas like they have hers, but has instead chosen to show empathy, all while having no confirmation of her safety. Something the gods would never do.

I feel like Sam’s been holding this move in his pocket ever since Imahara Joe told FCG he had a bomb in his chest. That said, I think this was about the most brilliant way he could have deployed it.

Think about it—FCG wakes up in a cave surrounded by the corpses of his dead friends, only to learn later that he was the one who murdered them. Now he’s in a cave with his new best friends, and he’s going killbot mode again, but this time, he’s fully aware of his state of mind, and fully in control of his decisions. And in picking his target, he saves all of their lives.

I just think that’s neat.

Sometimes I remember that Ludinus' entire plan hinged on the love between two people who were ripped apart by fate for more than 30 years. Somehow he knew that, when it came down to it, not even Vax's transformation into a servant of the gods would prevent him from loving Keyleth of the Air Ashari. No amount of removal of his personhood, or distance from the person he used to be could snuff that out and prevent him from breaking the non-interference accords to be there when she was in danger. Their love was always going to be doomed by the narrative, and in the end it doomed the narrative too. Everyone talks about Delilah and her willingness to rip the world apart for love, but for Vax it wasn't even really will anymore, just the inevitability of all that was left of him other than the Champion.

c3e111 delivered on the high-cha/low-int party (bell's hells) vs high-int/low-cha party (mighty nein) interactions.

and as an m9 girlie, absolutely love the energy the mighty nein brought in this episode. it's just so THEM. they're mean, intense, unapologetic, and just completely unfettered.

yet still manages to give off this air of hypercompetence and authority despite being the only party with such an anonymous reputation that out of most of world leaders only a select few knew them and trusted them, and turning out to be truly independent, feral ride-or-die bitches who will bite your head off when given the slightest reason.

and they are just generally pretty no-nonsense compared to bh. just. does not put up with any of bells hells' attempts to bullshit.

—said lovingly. i like bh's distinct dynamic of deflecting and keeping things in until something violently explodes, but it says a lot that it has been less than a day with the m9 and several deliberate "why dont you talk to me/them" within that time frame, and by the end of the episode, a lot of progress was made on bell's hells' relationships and issues (not that i'm dismissing all the setup made by the players throughout the campaign).

just. the m9 also being so genuine, helpful, straight-to-the-point, understanding, and willing to give someone the benefit of the doubt.
