You sat on the couch, legs crossed over Price’s lap, both of you watching the TV as the other three go back and forth while doing their own things. You eventually got up and got dressed, meeting up with a dressed up Price at the front door with both of you giving the other guys sneaky grins. You and Price headed out to a restaurant, dining for a while and chatting about topics besides the military as you both enjoyed your time together. Once you both left, he took you into a nearby alley, feeling your body while he also softly put his lips to yours. His hands were moving around your body, unbuttoning and unzipping your pants as his right hand slipped into your soft and comfortable underwear, his hand wrapping around your slowly erecting penis while his other hand unbuttoned your shirt and he took to a nipple of yours after separating his lips from yours. He turned you around, playing with your nipple he isn’t sucking or gently biting on with his hand, his other hand pushing your underwear down as he begins to masturbate your cock. He let go of your cock and undid his belt and unbuttoned and unzipped his pants, him slamming his erect and hard penis into you before he began to masturbate your cock again. He moved back and forth in your rectum evenly and consistently as he now started to kiss, bite, lick, and move his teeth against your neck while his hands still messed with your penis and nipples. His cock kept being slammed into you, from head to hilt at an incredible speed before he slammed into you one last time, hitting your prostate as goes fully into your rectum, sperm rushing out and getting spread around in your ass. You then release your sperm, shooting it out with a few hitting your own chest, most hitting the brick wall, and some of it just running down onto Price’s hand. Price moved, licking your cum off his hand and off your chest, swallowing it before kissing you on the lips, soon taking you back to the house.
Once you were back with Price, Gaz and Soap helped you onto the couch since you very much drained from getting fucked heavily by Price, who went to his room which seemed more like a damn study, with Soap and Gaz helping you with your needs before Gaz ended up leaving so you and soap were left alone with one another, the mischievous prick took the opportunity and fiddled around with your clothes, getting you left in just your underwear as he straddled your lower half and fondled your pecs, playing with your nipples in the process. He wasn’t giving you ample time to actually recover after you and Price having sex, maybe it was because he was jealous Price got to fuck you first before deployment instead of him, but who knows, all that matters is the right now, and in the right now, Soap is jackhammering his penis in you after pulling your underwear down by using his waist to cause friction and tug it down far enough for him to comfortably start fucking Price’s sperm out of you. He knew you were spent but didn’t care, he just wanted you full of his liquid lust since he wanted no one else in you, even the one commanding him, Price. He kept a steady pace while jackhammering himself into you, and once he reached his climax, he let a steady stream of spunk flow into you, enough so that it started seeping from your anus and getting Price’s sperm out of you in the process.
You and Simon sat there on your bed, him cuddling you as he actually helps you rest since Soap and Price did what they want to your body. He kissed you all over from the forehead to all the way down to the waist before going back up to around the neck and face. Simon having his hips straddle you as he kissed your neck repeatedly, his left hand rubbing your back, fingers going back and forth in the natural divot of your torso. His right hand running through and messing with your hair on your head as he just gives you nonsexual affection, a smile on his face before he gives you a kiss on the cheek. After a while you began moaning as he started running his teeth down your skin and gently moved his fingers down your body, his fingernails leaving little white but quickly fading lines before they are dug into the skin of your ass after his hands slid into your pants. He moved his hands and undid your pants and pulled your underwear down, and did the same to himself, having his cock and yours out as he begins rubbing his and yours together, frotting. He put his lips to yours as he moved his hand up and down on his and your moving back and forth cocks, you and him making out in the process with your hands gripping his ass in response with that smug look in your eyes because of ghost now bucking his hips as he frots you and himself with a bit of red on his face. At this point, Ghost laid on the bed with his backside to you, your cock going in him as you begin kissing his body, fucking him slowly and full of affection. You kissed his back as your hand moved up and down on his throbbing penis with your other hand fondle his balls, gently squeezing and playing with them making Ghost moan out as he slowly starts just becoming a moaning mess from you messing around with his body and seeing what will turn him on even more. Once he moaned out again, you then began thrusting and slamming into him after going slow for a while, you slamming into him with your erection making him moan loudly with him bucking his hips to push your cock into him further, after one more exhilarating slam into Ghost you moaned out, releasing your sperm into him as his spewed out onto the sheets and ran down onto your hand, your hand moving up and down his erection, keeping it stiff and throbbing in a painful way, getting all of him out through his cock before falling asleep after adjusting yourselves to sleep more comfortably with one another.
Gaz was on the couch as you walked through after having a good sleep, you resting most of your body on the couch with your legs and feet dangling over the arm of the couch and your head is resting on his lap. You fiddled with his pants strings, unable to go back to sleep which your surprised that you even slept that long considering the guy you fucked had been laying on top of you and you still somehow managed to get up. You and Gaz watched the TV, Gaz scrolling through channels with you sighing at how many military movies are currently being shown but you deal with it, sneaking your right hand into Gaz’s shirt making him squirm at very cold flesh touching warm flesh from under a piece of cloth. You then move and begin kissing Gaz’s chest, slowly moving down until you get to the bulge of his pants, your hands undoing his pants with your lips immediately kissing the reactive bulge of Gaz’s underwear with his hand soon on the back of your head. You then pull his underwear down, kissing and licking his cock until it’s eventually fully erect, but you don’t let him climax as you put your lips to his. You wanted to savor his penis and he begrudgingly allowed you to, but when you began to frot him before shoving him in you, he went wild. He began spanking your ass, running his teeth along your body, and bucking himself into you, trying to get his cock further in you while you kept moving up to keep him from fully being in you which just makes him a whining mess. You kissed him along his neck, face, and anywhere you could easily reach with your lips without crouching or lowering. Once you got him whining heavily for the lust of your asshole, you slammed down on him, making him shake and having him grip your asscheeks, his hands roughly gripping your ass as he begins to slam his penis back and forth in you while his balls slap against your ass. Gaz was just a moaning and whining mess as he fucked you while his and your lips were repeatedly touching and not touching as you both made out. He let out a loud moaning whine after a while of fucking as he orgasmed, his “cream” filling you up as you made out with him after his climax.
It had been a few days after all that and you were laying on the couch, Soap slamming his penis back and forth in you as you fuck Gaz, your hands gripping and squeezing his asscheeks while also making out with him, your tongue in his mouth as presses himself hard against your body, the friction between the two of you being rough but it is increasing his and your sensual desires for one another. Ghost and Price giving each other handjobs as they watch the three of you “get down and dirty”. The two eventually giving in once they felt like they were close enough, in their opinion, to climaxing. Price filling up Gaz harshly, leaving barely enough room within Gaz’s asshole for movement between the two penises now in him. Ghost and Soap being a moaning mess as Ghost roughly and dominantly fucks Soap, having Soap press into Price’s hairy, but not exactly too hairy, back. You got flipped over, being on top of Gaz and Price now as Soap begins to kiss your back, dragging his teeth slowly and gently as he wasn’t trying to cause any damages to your skin, your skin had goosebumps on it as he drug his teeth against your skin. He while doing all that, even inserted his right hand’s middle finger and ring finger into your ass as he fucked you, opening you up more before he released his spunk into you. Price moaned loudly as he, to your own interpretation, was shooting his sperm into Gaz. Soap moaned out he has his ass spanked roughly, and while his mouth was open, Ghost took the opportunity and shoved his index and middle fingers into Soap’s mouth, getting the mohawk haired male to moan out sounds around the fingers while sucking on them. Ghost took another opportunity but it was with you this time, his thumb harshly pushing against your lower back, near your ass, making Soap’s back and forth slamming into you that he is still doing along with his two fingers up your rectum even more invigorating, you biting down on Gaz’s shoulder but not hard enough to make him bleed as you convulse and begin ejaculating your sperm into Gaz, your cock rubbing against Prices making you just that more lustful as you continued to release your essence into Gaz. Ghost eventually did one last slam into Soap, groping Soap’s ballsack and gently biting Soap’s neck as he finally came, licking Soap’s neck as he continued releasing himself into Soap from the walls of Soap’s anus squeezing his cock, wanting all of him in his asshole. After a while, all of you were laying on the couch, overlapping with one another’s naked bodies, you eventually getting up and heading to your room and getting yourself ready and dressed up in your gear and stuff. You hopped out the window and paged into your Walkie Talkie, being sure to be loud enough for the other person to hear you but not loud enough for the gang inside the house to hear you. A smile on your unmasked face, and your cock throbbing a little at the thought of having sex with the gang when you’re back from duty or when you finally retire.

*at the watchtower*
Flashdad “hello dear husband, what’s going on here?”
Barry “the computers not working and they don’t know what’s the problem”
Flashdad “have you to looked at it?”
Captain Atom “I’m not sure you comedians could help, I mean you two aren’t the sharpest knife in the draw”
Flashdad “I’ll show you a sharp knife”
*gets under the console and starts fiddling*
Damian “did you say you needed a sharp knife, uncle?”
Barry “maybe start stabbing in a minute”
Cpt Atom “I don’t think you’re go-“
*computer starts working*
Flashdad “there you go, loose wire was coming in contact with a circuit board. Surprised none of you PHD nerds saw that was the problem… or made sure all your wires were insulated”
Barry “not too bad for a couple comedians”
Damian “what about my knives?”
Flashdad “ask your father”
I mean, to be fair, Captain Atom is a chemist and not a computer scientist lol. But still, there's a point in there about even when you're a talented specialist, you have to realize other people will have different skills than you that are useful

jrwi music headcannons bc why not:
(no spoilers. sry for the long post lmao)
Caspien and Cpt. Lizzie play the violin/fiddle
Chip plays guitar, specifically an acoustic guitar with low-tension nickel or copper strings, mainly finger style. He hates thumb picks for no discernible reason. He can also play piano, but he can’t read music
(Based on the fact that Chip knows a shitton of languages, so he p knows people from all over) Chip knows how to dance really well, and knows loads of different styles and techniques, both for parties and shows. He likes to square dance, and does partner ones w Jay. He like bluegrass and folk
Gillion does percussion, maybe bongo-type drums, (also hc that they don’t have many wind instruments in the Undersea because the sound wouldn’t travel very well underwater), or something similar to a lyre
Gillion likes 80-style pop music. He likes to listen to it on blast when he’s “getting limber” and working out, his favorite song is “Holding Out For A Hero” by Bonnie Tyler
Earl plays the accordion (no I am not accepting criticism here). He has also created several cursed instruments that only he knows how to play, out of gourds they found on random islands. He likes EDM.
Jay plays a flute (this one might be canon actually, I think they’ve mentioned it before). She likes punk and alt/indie genres, and bands like MSI, Will Wood And The Tapeworms, and the occasional Flatsound or Crywank
They always give Olly a cowbell when they play together, on party nights, but he can also play trumpet. He likes indie pop, like Two Door Cinema Club and The Temper Trap
Jay knows how to tap dance, and she is trying to teach Gillion. Chip thinks this is hilarious, considering Gillion’s absolute lack of dexterity a lot of the time
Marshal John plays the ukulele and the saxophone. He tells everyone he likes metal, but his favorite genre is classical, especially orchestral, music
Pretzel plays kazoo. She really like metal, her favorite bands are p the Architects, Slayer, and Gorguts

warnings: some teasing ahem 👀 but nothing too serious
———
You genuinely didn’t know what was going on now. It had been a couple days since .. that happened and you just left confused on what the next move was from either you or Carol.
The following days from that night, you had been in contact with her as she would call you about contracts and what to ask your father for clarification but that would be all. You usually would be short with her on the phone and she immediately took the hint that something was wrong.
It didn’t feel good to know that something went sideways that night. Carol kept thinking back and wondering if she had been too bold but for some reason she couldn’t help it. But of course, maybe she shouldn’t have pushed it onto you.
Your father had planned for a meeting to happen between his board and Carols which meant you’d have to see her and it only put a bit of pressure on you.
Dialing the phone in your office, it rang twice before the line was picked up. “IT Department” Sam said as a small smile grew on your face.
“Hey nerd, I was just checking to see if the screens working in the conference room since it was having trouble earlier” you said as you heard him chuckle on the other end.
“You should be lucky that I like you enough that I let the name ‘nerd’ pass” he said as you felt your face heat up a bit. “The screen should be good to go. Let me know if it freezes or anything, I’ll be up there quick” he finished as you nodded.
“You got it” you smiled as you hung up the phone.
Letting out a breath, you walked over to the conference room, walking in and taking a seat next to your father as you waited for Carol and her team to walk in.
“Everything alright?” Your dad asked, turning towards you as you looked at him, smiling and nodded.
“Yeah, all good” you said as he looked at you a bit longer, seeing right through your lie but not wanting to push you. Giving you a soft smile he patted your hand lightly before hearing the door open.
Looking up, you see Carol smiling as he team walked in before her eyes met yours. You stayed looking at each other before looking down at your notepad, fidgeting with the pen ontop of it as your father stood up to shake her hand.
“Carol. It’s good to see you” Tony said, as she smiled and shook his hand before letting go.
“You as well. Glad to be here” she said as she quickly looked over at you and felt that small guilt rise up in her again. Looking away, she smiled at everyone before taking a seat nearest to her that was empty.
“So” you father said as everyone else sat down and opened their folders with the presentation slides. “Let’s get started” he smiled at Carol as she nodded, opening her file and standing up. Her slideshow popped up on the big screen as she began to go over the percentages and recent benefits that the companies have had.
The whole meeting seemed to drag along. You couldn’t bring yourself to look up the presentation at the fault of meeting eyes with Carol. You took notes every once in a while as you thought about approaching her to clear the air. Part of you missed her flirty and cocky nature but the other part of you knew that confrontation was going to have to happen if you wanted that energy back.
“Uh” You heard Carol pause as she kept trying to click the remote to change the slide but it stayed stuck as you looked up and saw the screen freeze and glitch a bit.
“It’s been freezing up all morning” you said, standing up insitinctly and went up to Carol, motioning for the remote in her hand. Pausing, she looked at you a hit stunned as you were stunned at your quick actions before you registered what you were doing.
Putting your hand down, you chuckled before putting your hand out again. “May I?” You asked as Carol placed the remote in your hand softly, still staring at you. You broke eye contact as you felt everyone’s eyes on you and began fiddling with the remote, eventually getting the screen to turn off from its glitched state.
“I’ll have IT look at this. In the meantime, the slides are on the file” you father said, looking at you before looking around the table then to Carol. He found that interaction a bit weird and his fatherly instincts had heightened a bit, feeling like something was happening but ultimately brushed it off.
“Yes” Carol started, clearing her throat before facing the people around the table with a smile. “It’s all on the folders. I was meant to show the last slide but I guess the screen doesn’t like good news” she chuckled as everyone else began to chuckle a bit.
“That’s good to hear! I guess the meeting is done. Thank you all for coming” you father smiled as everyone began to pack up.
You stepped aside and pulled out your phone, sending Sam a quick text about the screen freezing up, just as he predicted, you quickly revived a response.
Sam: alright, the nerd will check on it for you ;)
Smiling down at your phone, you quickly composed yourself and cleared your throat as you looked up and saw Carol’s eyes on you while she was talking to someone you didn’t recognize. Pulling her eyes away, she smiled at the man infront of her and shook his hand before packing up her bag on the desk.
Clearing your throat, you felt as though this was your opputunity. Time to clear the air between you both. Grabbing your things from where you sat at the table, you walked over to Carol, tapping her on the shoulder and catching her attention quickly.
“Ms. Danvers, can I speak to you privately about something?” You asked which caught the attention of your father as well from behind you as he was in conversation with his colleague.
Taken aback, Carol nodded her head slowly before fully comprehending what was happening.
“Uh, y-yeah sure” she said as you smiled before following you out the conference room and over to your office. Tony watched you both and couldn’t help the feeling that feeling come back to him. He pushed it to the back of his mind as he went back to the conversation, smiling but his mind began to race a bit.
Walking over to your office, you let out a nervous sigh as you walked in, motioning for Carol to take a seat to which she shook her head as you sat down behind your desk.
“I’m alright, thank you” Carol smiled at you before looking down at the floor. Right when she began speaking, you began at the same time before your both laughed.
“Please” Carol said, feeling her hands get a bit sweaty from how nervous she was.
“Thank you. I um-“ you started, pausing before leaning your arms up against your desk. “I want to talk about the other night. Carol, I-“ you started but Carol shook her head and cut you off.
“I want to apologize for that. I don’t know what came over me. I just want to say I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable in anyway from my actions and-“ she continued on as it was your turn to shake you head
“No it’s just-“ you started, cutting her off and sighing while looking away “It took me a bit by surprise” you chuckled as Carol nodded lightly before walking over to the desk and taking your hand in hers and giving it a slight squeeze.
Looking up at her, she was looking at your hands before looking back at you. “To say I’m not attracted to you would be a lie” she started, smiling at you as you chuckled.
“But, I won’t do anything in that matter anymore if you don’t want me to. I’m sorry if I over stepped anything” she said, squeezing your hand lightly as you smiled at her, placing your other hand ontop of hers just staring at her.
“Thank you” you said, rubbing your thumb lightly against the back of her hand. It felt nice having her hand in yours. As cliche as it sounds, it felt as though it fit perfectly and it only made your stomach feel light butterflies.
“I too can say that you are very attractive” you chuckled as Carol let out a soft laugh before you stood up, letting go of her hand. Carol frowned a bit from the loss of touch, she felt happy on the inside just holding your hand.
“And if you let me” you said, grabbing her hand again and pulling it to her side as you stepped close to her. Carol’s breathing hitched as she watched her movements. She could feel your breath lightly fanning her face as a smirk grew on your face. Her body pressed against your desk, the complete opposite of how it was the other night.
“I want to show you an apologize for keeping you on your toes for so long” you said, leaning in before placing a small kiss against her jawline. Your free hand moved to grip her hip and she couldn’t help the small moan that came out of her. Closing her eyes, she relaxed her body as you continued to let kisses down her neck before pulling back to look at her.
“What do you think of that?” You smirked as she opened her eyes to look at you, a small smile growing on her lips. You started to lean in to press your lips against hers but you were interrupted by the door opening.
“Hey, (Y/N) I just came to tell you-“ Sam paused as he saw the scene infront of him as his eyes grew wide. “Holy shit”

Chapter I: Before the Fall
BT-7274 MCS JAMES MACALLAN // TITAN BAY 4 EN ROUTE PLANET TYPHON, IMC-CONTROLLED SPACE
The Titan hangar was busy with pre-mission jitters. Pilots worked with their Titans to complete last-minute checks, ensuring that all systems and hardware were functional before their inevitable deployment. The spacious area reverberated with the sounds of heavy machinery and pilot banter, intermingling to create a pleasant, familiar ambience that told BT-7274 everything was… fine. The humans were comfortable. His fellow Titans— even if they weren’t Vanguard-class— were functional. And according to the Command frequency, the 9th Militia Fleet was making good time to their destination.
They had to make good time. They were too far from home, too deep within enemy territory, to risk anything but. Still, he was— in his pilot’s words— itching to be deployed and start working. Operation 217 had been attached to Protocol Two: Uphold the Mission for so long that its presence in his subroutines was frustrating. Worse, his pilot did not seem to share his frustration, or his singular focus on what they had ahead of them.
For that matter, no one seemed to be focused on the mission. BT-7274 allowed itself to sink down to the floor, legs and arms pulled tight to its chassis. He does not look at his pilot, instead lifting his ‘eye’ to watch the two other Titan-pilot pairs at the opposite end of the hangar. They were new to the Marauder Corps., but experienced in their own right…
When they weren’t goofing off.
BT willfully cycles a puff of air through its vents to synthesize a sigh. Lieutenant Shaver was lazily tossing a ball between himself, Lt. Freeborn, and their respective Titans, both of whom got inevitably tied up in passing it between themselves. He watches Shaver climb up the distinctive steel-blue hull of his Titan and shimmy across its bent arm, plucking the ball out from between her massive fingers.
“Careful, BT. Grumble any louder and I might think you want to play a round of catch.”
BT-7274 switches its gaze instantly to his pilot, Captain Tai Lastimosa.
“That would be irresponsible,” BT-7274 says. “Titan bays are not for playing in.”
Tai laughs. BT looks away again, now inspecting the ceiling and the various moving parts composing it.
“I know you’re bored, BT. Here— I’ll give you something to do. Can you find Jack Cooper for me? He was supposed to be here five minutes ago… and well, I think he’s lost,” Tai says. “These new carriers of the Militia are a mess to navigate.”
“That is a hazard of repurposing captured scrap,” BT-7274 says passively. “I will look.”
Not that he wanted to, necessarily. But Tai was invested in Jack Cooper, so he would support his pilot in all related endeavors, because the rules and protocols Tai was violating did not intersect BT’s hardwired regulations. Additionally, all personnel in the hangar currently knew of Jack Cooper’s existence.
“Captain Cole is bringing Cooper now,” BT-7274 says. “ETA one minute.”
Technically, BT was also not supposed to be accessing the ship’s surveillance systems, or the comm chatter, but no one had stopped him yet— and it directly benefited his pilot. He tracks Cpt. Cole and Cooper through the ship, noting that the latter looked anxious, maybe even uncomfortable. Curious.
“Don’t just sit there, BT. Help me get this simpod ready,” Tai calls.
BT-7274 picks his way across the hangar floor. Attached to the wall was a raised catwalk equipped with pilot gear, weapons, lockers, and exactly four simulation pods. All four were of IMC make, stolen years ago by the Militia and reprogrammed for pilot training. BT knew that Tai disliked them— because he couldn’t fit comfortably in them.
Tai snorts, looking up at him with a hand placed on his hip. Whatever he was going to say, however, is lost, as the massive powered gate leading to the rest of the ship starts to grind open. BT-7274 rocks back into a resting position and diverts all his focus into passive observation.
Through it, two people enter. The shorter of the two jogs ahead, climbing up the stairs to where Tai stood fiddling with the simulation pods. BT sympathizes with the older Cole as he shakes his head in good-natured exasperation.
“I got lost,” Jack says sheepishly.
“That means we have no time to waste,” Tai replies. “Into the pod, Coop.”
“You sure about this, sir?” Jack asks.
He’s nervous, BT can tell, but less so than the first time he and Tai had engaged in training. BT squints his optical array at him when they make eye contact, a short acknowledgment. Jack quickly diverts his gaze, then climbs into the cramped space of the pod. He looks small in it, like it could swallow him whole once the door closed.
Tai swears as he moves to power-cycle it and BT-7274 reluctantly accesses it to match their neural link with that of the pod’s. As soon as his pilot and Jack are loaded in, he retreats— it would be sometime before he was needed. Someone had to keep Tai upright while his mind was elsewhere, after all.
But that left BT open to play interference with the rest of the hangar’s occupants. Already, Shaver and Freeborn were approaching, expressions plain and curious.
“What do you think of the kid, BT?” Shaver asks. “Where’d Lastimosa even meet him?”
BT-7274 restrains himself from venting a sigh. Cooper is breezing through the pod’s initial lessons, despite Tai trying to show off his home planet. A brief search shows that Harmony is not where Jack Cooper was born.
“I heard it was boot camp,” Cole says. “Is that true?”
He snaps his optic to the Militia officer and says nothing. In his experience, if he was silent long enough, humans figured out how to entertain themselves among each other. At any rate, he did have other things to focus on, like keeping the modified sim stable. Jack was performing well enough to impress Tai.
He would have to begrudgingly agree.

I was tagged by @cpt-s-america to post a snippet of my up coming story ‘Ivre’ which I’m very excited to finish and post (lmao who knows when that will be), so here we are :)
--
“What’s Xavier got y’ doin’ now?” He asked, amused.
“Now that ain’t a conversation either of us especially want to have right now.” She raised an eyebrow and he almost let out a laugh.
“Y’ got my attention either way.”
She stared at him, so conscious of his touch and his presence. He hadn’t changed, not really, and seeing him so suddenly, so abruptly, it felt like an old part of her had just nuzzled itself back into her being and started to settle down for the long haul—she cringed.
“Where have you been?” Rogue asked, her voice not as harsh as before.
“Workin’.”
“Is that why you’re here? You’re ‘workin’’?”
Gambit swiftly changed to a faster pace, his grip firm and strong.
“I meant to drop by.” He told her, “See how y’ were holdin’ up after Apocalypse.”
Vaguely, she noted that he was purposely avoiding her question, but the sincerity of his tone was too distracting to really acknowledge it. She really hated how unreadable he was, always had been, and she hated that it put her at such a disadvantage. Even his voice was like silk when he played it right. But God, he was speaking like he did at Mardi Gras, when reality blended into a thick haze of music and grins.
“Is that a lie?” Rogue asked hesitantly, searching his face for just a flicker of dishonesty, a crack in the facade.
He looked at her fully, dark eyes flaring and his hold tightening, drawing her closer.
“What do y’ want it to be?”
“I don’t know.” She said truthfully. “It just doesn’t…” she let the sentence trail off. He didn’t try to further encourage her.
“You look different.” He mused, a trace of a smirk beginning to spread across his features once more. Gambit let the hand placed on the small of her back trail a hot line up her waist, ribs, shoulder and jaw, to briefly fiddle with a loose lock of blonde hair that had fallen out of its bun. Burning channels of touch sent goosebumps across the back of her neck and a shiver through the churning pit of her stomach. This wasn’t the sort of touch she’d experienced. “What happened to the hair?”
And just like that, the tone changed again, and he was playful, light and easy. She could deal with this Gambit.
“I needed a change.” Rogue smiled mockingly.
“S’ shame,” Gambit hummed amusedly, tilting his head, “I liked the stripes,” and then his fingers trailed back down the same path it had taken before, etching the feeling into her skin like molten bronze.
They danced. He moved silently, just like always. Trailing the light scent of his cologne with each glide and sway of their bodies.
“What happened to the eyes?” She countered.
“They were an occupational hazard.” He grinned lopsidedly as he moved his hand further down the small of her back.
“Never stopped you before,” Rogue remarked drily.
“Non. Only where they like to take our any mutants lookin’ for a good buy in fine antiquities.”
“Yes, because I’m sure you’re here to bid for the fine woodwork and jewels,” she shot back, voice dripping with sarcasm.
He chuckled at that. A low, velvety rumble in his chest which she could feel through the fabric of his suit and up through the shivers of her spine.
“Smart girl,” he flashed his eyes titillatingly; she could’ve sworn she’d seen a tinge of scarlet.

Display
Combo GPS units that are built with 7-and 9-inch displays and waterproof are an excellent choice for the best fish finder GPS combos for small boats. The good display should have a resolution of at least 800x480 pixels and LED backlight technology to be easily readable in all lighting or weather conditions. Note that IPX6 means that the device is resistant to water jet from a 12.5 mm nozzle, with the rate of 100 liters per minute, for at least three minutes, while IPX7 means that the device is resistant to immersion in water, up to 3.2 feet deep, for 30 minutes.
Transducers
Different fishing types need various appropriately corresponding transducers. Open-water anglers would require deep-signal sending transducers, whereas inland-water fishers prefer transducers with a wider angle of sound wave transmission.
Frequency
Higher fishfinder frequency yields higher-detail reception on to your fish finder screen. Open-water trawlers require low-frequency transducers, whereas the high-frequency versions are ideal for the shallow-water fishing. The most common frequencies range from 50 to 200 kHz.
Display Screen
When buying fishfinder combos, do consider the display. The best ones are equipped with modern, full-color displays, in place of the traditional black-and-white. These clearer-color screens have become increasingly popular, so chances are that the device of your choice would anyway bring a color display.
GPS
As far as navigational features and capabilities are concerned, do take note of certain aspects. If you need a decent GPS combo device, it’s a great idea to get one that has more GPS channels, as such provide sheer sensitivity, positioning, and precision. GPS augmentation via SBAS and WAAs systems is a major advantage.
In conjunction with the previous guides we wrote on the best fish finder GPS combos under 300 and combos GPS under 500, respectively, here is a brief buying guide and our impartial reviews on what we gather are the best fish finder GPS combos under 1,000 on the market today.

Design
The Raymarine Axiom 7 features a 7-inch, 800x480-pixel LCD display. It’s optically bonded, with LED backlight and offers excellent readability from different angles. It’s IPX6 and IPX7 waterproof, which means it can withstand incidental water exposure with no problem and thus, one of the best fishfinder GPS combos for small boats.
The display is multitouch type, which means you navigate through the apps and functions by touching on the screen, as you do on your smartphone or tablet. As mentioned, the device operates on LightHouse 3, which comes with a user-friendly interface. You can pin the main applications on to the main start page for quick access and create a split-screen in different modes with several apps simultaneously. Its quadcore processor lets the device quickly respond to commands.
The Axiom 7 is Wi-Fi enabled, allowing connection to the latest Raymarine apps for tablets and smartphones possible. Finally, the device comes with a sun cover as well as a trunnion bracket, a flush mount, and a gasket for surface mounting.
CHIRP Sonar and Transducer
The Axiom 7, as its name simples, is built with a 600W traditional 2D sonar and an integrated DownVision sonar module, which provides a spectacular view of the underwater. Bearing striking similarities as the Axiom 7 RV variant, the device comes with an internal solar app that is also ready for RealVision 3D and SideVision sonar, but you need to use an RV-100 transducer for RV 3D and CPT200 SideVision external sonar module for SideVision. So to clear up the confusion, the included transducer for the device is for 2D High-Frequency CHIRP and DownVision only.
The Raymarine Axiom 7’s DownVision sonar provides a relatively better depth capability compared to the RV-100’s RealVision 3D. The former can scan waters up to 600 feet deep, while the 2D sonar can reach depths up to 900 feet, respectively.
GPS and Navigation
The device is built with a 72-channel, 10 Hz GPS/GLONASS receiver, which refreshes your positions 10 times/second. Due to its fast processor, the movement on the boat on the display appears seamless.
The device comes with the Navionics Nav+ US & Canada charts, which not only cover more than 20,000 inland lakes and the U.S. / Canada coastal waters, but also open multiple useful features.
The Axiom 7 device has an Autopilot app, which must be integrated with an Evolution autopilot system. This way, it will act as the autopilot’s controller. Radar and AIS applications are also available with this unit, but you’ll need an AIS and Radar module to enable their functionality.
The Axiom 7 device can record up to 10,000 waypoints, allowing you to assign various icons for them and mark your points of interest. You can organize up to 200 waypoints per group and create up to 150 routes with up to 250 waypoints per route. You can record up to 16 tracks, with up to 10,000 track points per track.
2. Raymarine Dragonfly-5 Pro Sonar/GPS with US C-Map Essentials
The year 2017 marked the release of one of Raymarine’s best fish finder GPS combos under 1,000— the Dragonfly 5PRO. The device employs state-of-the-art sonar and DownVision technology to provide all anglers, novice or seasoned, with a splendid underwater view.
The Dragonfly 5 PRO has a solid, rugged design, installs easily, and doesn’t require a steep learning curve, which means that if you’re a newbie, you won’t have to spend days fiddling with your equipment to get the hang of it. With its large screen, Wi-Fi and mapping capabilities, ease of use, and advanced sonar feature, the Dragonfly 5PRO is, indeed, so much more than a mere fish finder.
PROS
Clear, concise, easy-to-view maps
Further ability to custom map a body of water
IPX6 and IPX7 waterproof
Compatibility with Lighthouse Charts, SonarChart, C-MAP by Jeppesen and Navionics Gold and HotMaps
One of the lowest price points in its class
Target Depth ID
The LCD bonding technology employed in the 5PRO’s display
Upgradable software
WiFish mobile app
CONS
Sun cover has to be paid for as an accessory
Design
Like all the other Dragonfly models, the 5PRO is designed on simplicity. It only has four buttons and one control pad. Its menu system is user-friendly and allows the user to have the most intuitive use of technology. As with the other Dragonfly models, the 5 PRO is waterproof the IPX6/7 standards. Its screen is equipped with optically-bonded LCD technology, offering both bright and high contrast for excellent readability even on the sunniest of days.
A lot of fishermen enjoy using different watercrafts for different locations. If you’re one of them, you need a device such as the Raymarine Dragonfly 5 Pro, which is easy to set up and breakdown. No wonder, this model is widely preferred as a good inexpensive fish finder for kayaks.
CHIRP Sonar and Transducer
Dragonfly 5 Pro features both DownVision and 2D CHIRP sonar. All in all, the CHIRP technology in both types of sonar offer neat, crisp imaging and excellent target separation. The transducer includes a water temperature sensor.
We want to mention a few other aspects regarding this device’s sonar. For starters, the sonar feed scrolls from right to left. The scroll speed can be adjusted. By default, it’s set to 100%, but it can be downgraded to 10%. Pause and zoom are also included functions, but the device does not have a snapshot function.
The device features a similar function to the Selective Fish ID in Humminbird Helix units or the Fish Symbol ID in Garmin echoMAP units. It’s called Target Depth ID and it’s a function that displays the depths of targets onscreen. The strength of targets, which displays depth ID is related to the Fish sensitivity setting, accessible from the Alarms menu. However, this function does not assign fish icons to targets.
GPS and Navigation
The 5PRO comes with a particular chart bundle, the Navionics+, covering North American waters, all the Great Lakes details, plus 18,000 US Inland Lakes (2,500 lakes containing 1-foot contour) as well as all Canadian lakes found on the HotMaps Canada product.
The device includes a powerful, quick, accurate 72-channel internal GPS. It also offers the possibility to save waypoints and tracks, having a capacity of 3,000 waypoints, and 15 tracks with 10,000 points each.
The device also allows you to categorize waypoints, as it is able to store 100-waypoint groups, with up to 3,000 waypoints per group. However, if one group has 3,000 (which is the maximum amount for one unit), you won’t be able to save other waypoints in another group. Saved waypoints and tracks can be imported and exported via microSD card.
3. Raymarine Dragonfly-7 Pro Sonar/GPS with US C-Map Essentials
Belonging to the series metaphorically described as a glance to the future of sonars, the Dragonfly 7 Pro is a great choice for the best fish finder GPS combos under 1,000. It is packed to the brim with user-friendly features, allowing you to spend less time fiddling with the device and more time reeling in more fish. Its CHIRP technology is one of its outstanding features, enabling transmission of a wide spectrum of frequencies, resulting in crisp, clear images. With the Dragonfly 7’s trackback feature lets you rest easy, as it stores search history and retraces waypoints easily, saving your fuel and time.
PROS
Compatible with various chart bundles
Dual-channel sonar
Excellent depth capability, up to 900 feet
Fast and accurate GPS, with 72 GPS / GLONASS channels
Quick disconnection connector, unified power/transducer cable
U.S. Navionics+ charts included
Wi-Fi enabled
CONS
No Fish ID feature
No integrated sonar recording function
No NMEA connectivity
No touchscreen technology for its price
Design
The Dragonfly 7 Pro is created to be visually appealing, sporting a compact, lightweight design. Its waterproof display protects the screen from fogging up when it is cold. Its 7-inch 800x480-pixel display screen is noticeably brighter and crisper, also constructed from optically-bonded technology, producing brighter colors, higher resolution, and sharper contrast.
This fish finder features only a rotary dial and three buttons. This reduction makes the device significantly easier to operate. You can easily switch between GPS, split screen, and sonar features fluidly. You can use the rotary dial to navigate to your preferred screen.
CHIRP Technology
As with all the other models in the Dragonfly lineup, the 7 Pro features a broad-spectrum, CHIRP down-imaging sonar, which means that more sonar waves are sent out into the water, yielding more data for the computer and a more detailed image for the fisher. You’ll find this capability handy when you are trying to determine if you are looking at a fish or some inanimate object underwater. It also helps you to see the detail on the cover and structure you are fishing like never before possible.GPS and Navigation
The Dragonfly 7 PRO is equipped with a 72-channel, internal GPS / GLONASS module. It supplies extremely fast and accurate fixes and also able to track your boat’s speed.
Like 5 PRO, the device comes with the U.S. Raymarine-chart-view-05 Navionics+ charts, which cover the North American waters — all the Great Lakes details, plus 18,000 US Inland Lakes (approx. 2,500 lakes containing 1-foot contour) as well as all Canadian lakes found on the HotMaps Canada product. This device can also work with LightHouse vector and raster charts, SonarChart, Navionics Gold and HotMaps, and C-MAP by Jeppesen. The Dragonfly 7 PRO also allows you to save up to 3,000 waypoints and 15 tracks with 10,000 points each. And because this device is closely similar to the 5 PRO, you can also categorize its waypoints. The device is also able to store 100 waypoint groups, with up to 3,000 waypoints per group.
4. Raymarine Dragonfly 6 Navionics+ Fish Finder with CPT-60 Transducer
We have another Raymarine qualifier on this list of the best fish finder GPS combos under 1,000. The Dragonfly 6 actually bagged the 2013 Innovation Award for Consumer Electronics, Mobile Applications, and Software, presented by the National Marine Manufacturers Association, at the Miami International Show. Albeit this model has been around for quite a while now, it’s not equipped with the latest features as those of the Dragonfly PRO units. However, with its 50-channel GPS, horizontal-vertical split-screen capability, amazing depth capability, to name some, we believe the Dragonfly 6 is exceptional and does have plenty to offer.
PROS
Clear, bright display
Dual-channel sonar
Easy-to-use, straightforward multifunctional displays
Highly-precise GPS
Instant, accurate results
Made for both, professionals and beginners
Superior target separation
CONS
Depth finder does not work well sometimes
Does not give results when the boat is stationary
No sonar recording function
Not Wi-Fi capable
Design
Dragonfly 6’s screen offers just enough space for a proper reading of the sonar and maps. The split-screen function allows the view of two applications simultaneously. There are options for horizontal and vertical split screen views.
The device is ideal for open cockpit installations, due to its superior waterproofing capability. It’s built to withstand rain, heavy splashes, and even complete but quick submersion. The display offers great readability even when you’re wearing polarized sunglasses. The head unit is designed with a tilt-and-swivel mounting system. One of the features specific to the Raymarine units is their unified connector for the transducer cable and power.
Navigation through the menus and options is done mostly via the rotary controller. In terms of buttons, the device is pretty much simple, featuring only three: the Power and Shortcuts, the Back and View Switcher, and the UniControl buttons.CHIRP Sonar and Transducer
The standard transducer for this unit is the CPT-60, designed for transom mounting. It comes with a built-in temperature sensor. The cable length for it is 19.7 feet, which should be enough for a wide range of boats. However, in case you own a longer boat, you can opt for a 13.1-feet cable extension.
The advertised standard depth capability of this unit is 600 feet, for both DownVision and conventional CHIRP sonar. However, tests have shown that you can achieve 700 feet for freshwater and 890 feet for saltwater with it. The absolute minimum depth the Raymarine Dragonfly 6 can be used for is 2 feet. The underwater views provided by both types of sonar are very clear and sharp, without unnecessary noise. The target separation that can be achieved with this unit is 1.25 inches for the conventional CHIRP sonar and 1 inch for DownVision.
The transducer uses two distinctive sonar beams, one for each type of sonar. For the conventional CHIRP sonar, it uses a conical beam, with a 25-inch opening. For DownVision, it uses a fan-shaped sonar beam, with 60 inches side-to-side, and 1.4 inches front to back.GPS and Navigation
The 50-channel GPS locks pretty quickly and excels in accuracy. As mentioned in the specs above, the device comes with the Navionics Gold SD card and a mapping pack that covers Coastal, Inland US, and Canada waters.
This device features as waypoint function, being able to store up to 3,000 waypoints. Also, you can save up to 15 tracks (10,000 points each track). You will be able to backup your waypoints and tracks on a microSD card.
5. Garmin Echomap Chirp 74Cv with transducer
Dubbed as a combo with some “serious connections,” the ECHOMAP™ Plus 74cv is built with a 7" diagonal touchscreen with keypad-assist in case the screen gets wet and a transom mount transducer that dials in two kinds of sonar: ClearVü scanning and mid-band CHIRP traditional sonar. It creates a simple yet solid connection between your compatible mobile device and your charts, Chartplotter, maps and the community. It features Panoptix, which is an innovative sonar technology that lets you see live sonar images and view your bait and the fish attacking it in real time.
PROS
Compatible with various other chart types
Enhanced Auto Guidance-capable
Multiple Depth Range Shading
Preloaded with BlueChart g2 charts
Quick disconnection (tilt-swivel) and flush mount included
Supports AIS and DSC-capable VHF radio
Tide tables information
Sonar recording and rewind
CONS
Information on the manual isn’t specific to this model
Design
All the newer Garmin echoMAP CHIRP units feature a different connection system than those released in 2015. All cables plug into the mount, while the device plugs into the mount via a multiple pin connector. It offers NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 connectivity possibilities, an out for Panoptix transducers, and also features a microSD card slot for software updates, new charts, data transfer etc. The device is also compatible with various other equipment, such as AIS units, autopilot units etc.
As its name suggests, the device features a 7-inch WVGA display, with an 800 x 480-pixel matrix, LED backlight, also being IPX7 waterproof. There are various image combos available, with the device allowing you to view up to three panels simultaneously.
The box also includes tilt-and-swivel mount, flush mount, and a protective cover.
CHIRP Sonar
The echoMAP CHIRP 74cv unit is capable of 50/77/200 kHz frequencies for its traditional 2D sonar, but since it can use CHIRP, with the given transducer, it’s able to use Mid-Band CHIRP, the pulse being modulated between 80-160 kHz.
For ClearVü, the device can scan at 260/455/800 kHz, and the supplied transducer supports the 260/455 kHz modes.
Also, via CHIRP, the system can modulate the sonar pulse between 245-275 kHz and 445-465 kHz.
Transducer
Just as the Garmin echoMAP CHIRP 54cv, this unit comes with the GT23M-TM transducer. However, its cable features an 8-pin connector and not a 4-pin one.
With the supplied transducer, the system can scan depths up to 1,800 feet for 2D, and 1,000 feet (305) for Cv. However, with a deep-water transducer, capable of 50 kHz, it should be able to scan depths up to 2,300 feet. Also, the sailing speed recommended for a maximum amount of information delivered by the transducer is 1 to 6 MPH.
Just like the other Garmin units in this feature range, the echoMAP CHIRP 74cv includes several other sonar-related functions. Among these we can enumerate: Split-Zoom, Split-Frequency, Sonar Recording and Sonar Rewind, Circular Flasher, Bottom Lock, Data Graphs and more.
One last but equally important aspect to mention here is the Panoptix compatibility of the device. Panoptix is actually one of the newest sonar technologies available, which lets you see live sonar images and view your lure and the fish attacking it in real time.
GPS and Navigation
The ECHOMAP™ Plus 74cv is equipped with a fast and accurate, 5Hz internal GPS system, which can offer the position and heading updates five times per second. The speed of your vessel is also tracked via GPS. The device can also save up to 5,000 waypoints, and 100 routes. It also has a track recording function, allowing you to save 50,000 track points and up to 50 tracks.
This device has the BlueChart g2 maps, which cover the coastal waters of the U.S. and Bahamas, including West Coast, East Coast, the U.S. part of the Great Lakes and the Gulf of Mexico. BlueChart g2 also opens several functions, such as the Safety Shading option, via which you can designate up to 10 different depth ranges, and assign them to the depth contours, making it much easier to see target depth at a glance.
The ECHOMAP™ Plus 74cv is compatible with various other chart bundles, such as BlueChart g2 Vision and LakeVü HD Ultra (US or Canada). These chart packs come with an Enhanced Auto Guidance function, which instantly searches through your charts to offer the safest virtual paths between two points of interest.
6. Garmin Striker Plus 9SV with CV52HW-TM transducer
The powerhouse Garmin® Striker™ Plus 9sv Fishfinder/GPS Combo combines a big-screen view and optimized performance for the best fishfinder experience. One of the best fish finder GPS combos under 1,000, the device brings built-in high-sensitivity GPS, a transducer for built-in Garmin CHIRP traditional sonar plus CHIRP ClearVu and CHIRP SideVu scanning sonars, and the unique Garmin Quickdraw Contours live mapping system, which lets you create 1-foot contours of the area beneath and around you, live as you boat and fish, for up to an astonishing 2 million acres.
PROS
Depth Range Shading
Dual-frequency sonar
Integrated Wi-Fi and ActiveCaptainTM compatibility
IPX7 waterproof
Large, ultra-bright display
Quickdraw Contours
CONS
No microSD or SD card reader
Not networkable
Design
The Striker Plus 9sv comes with 800 x 480-pixel, WGVA-color display. It has incorporated LED backlight and is IPX7 waterproof, like the rest of the fish finder models in this list. The package only includes classic-tilt mount; unit cover and flush mount aren’t included.
One of the new features common in all the 7-inch and 9-inch Striker units is their Wi-Fi capability, which allows you to access the ActiveCaptain™ app. When hooked to a Wi-Fi connection, the device can receive smart notifications, get instant software updates, and access the QuickDraw Contours Community for waypoints and map sharing.
CHIRP Sonar and Transducer
The Striker Plus 9sv is built with the CV52HW-TM transducer, which integrates a temperature sensor, has 20 feet of cable with a transom mount, and a 12-pin connector. This transducer is capable of a High Wide CHIRP beam at 150-240 kHz, and 455 kHz (425-485 kHz) / 800 kHz (790-850 kHz) for ClearVü and SideVü.
The depth capability of this sonar beam is approximately 800 feet, but with a 50/200 kHz transducer, the system should be able to reach greater depths, up to 2,300 feet.
Like the ECHOMAP Plus units, the Striker Plus 9sv offers a full range of standard sonar features, including Fish Symbol ID sonar view, UltraScroll, AutoGain, Flasher mode for ice fishing, A-Scope, Bottom Lock, Fish Alarm, Depth Alarm, and many more.
GPS and Navigation
Although it’s not a full chartplotter as the ECHOMAP Plus 93sv for example, this Garmin fish finder does offer a basic set of navigation features. To begin with, it has the basic GPS plotter which shows the position of your boat on a blank sheet, without any charts.
The device doesn’t have a microSD or an SD card reader, so it cannot be upgraded, nor it is compatible with any charts. The device can also save up to 5,000 waypoints within its memory, show coordinates for any point marked and for your current location, and calculate the speed of your boat.
A track recording function and a route creation function are also available, enabling you to record your course to review or retrace later. You can also create routes by connecting several waypoints.
Although the device doesn’t have charts, it does have the Quickdraw Contours feature. The device utilizes the 2D sonar and the GPS information to determine and draw the depth contours of the body of water where you’re fishing. In other words, you can create personalized maps with up to 1-foot depth contours. The device can record up to 2 million acres and save up to 1,500 hours of recording.
Our Verdict
With a multitude of fish finder GPS models claiming to be as great as the Dragonfly 5 Pro, to see is indeed to believe. Without any qualms, we dare you to check for yourself all of its features and see if it is not the best fish finder GPS combo under 1,000 (at least, on this list). Its reasonable price tag—making it the least expensive device in this list—is the cherry on the cake. Apart from minor caveats such as its small screen size, it boasts virtually the same sophisticated specs and quality as its closest, more expensive relative, the Dragonfly 7.
When you decide to buy a fish finder combo, you would want to see if you’re putting your hard-earned money into one that lives up to its promises. The Dragonfly 5 Pro brings state-of-the-art sonar performance that will not only leave you in awe but also a productive, fun fishing experience every time you go out on the water.

Far from home. Part 1/?
The air was thick with heat and the smell of oil and sweat, the occasional puff of steam escaping from the pipes going about the room. but while most ponies would find this uncomfortable, the brown pony working on the engine loved it, it made Him feel at home. Bronze Heart sat up from His work on the engine, wiping His hooves off on a rag He had near Him, “well that should keep us going for a good while” He said to Himself. Bronze was the shipwright/fix-it stallion of the S.S. Shining Hope, it was His job the keep the ol’ girl soaring thru the skies.
The S.S. Shining Hope was primarily a research vessel, though it did have to serve as a scout at times. It wasn’t great, But such was the price of freedom in these war torn times. Sighing softly Bronze sat down at His workbench, fiddling with one of His personal projects that He worked on in His free time. Smiling softly as His thought drifted while He worked, thinking about the captain. Cpt. Aster was amazing, Bronze admired Her wisdom, grace, kind heart, it would be a lie to say He didn’t have a bit of a crush on Her. But He was happy just to work with Her and help Her achieve Her goals.
Bronze was torn from His thought when He heard a loud explosion and felt the ship pitch to one side, sending Him to the floor. He got Himself up to the sounds of the ship’s alarms going off and the cpt’s voice over the intercom, “all hooves to their stations, we’re under attack!” She said. His heart racing He ran to the nearest porthole and looked out, what He saw filled Him with dread, a griffon warship. “S-Sweet Celestia, w-where’d they come from!” He said to Himself, His voice shaking a lil, shaking His head to focus He grabed His tools, ready to do His part. Taking a deep breath He started heading up thru the ship, explosions shaking the whole ship all the way.
As He reached the deck of the ship a massive boom rung out as one of the stabilizers exploded, sending the ship pitching to the right. As the ship started pitching Bronze managed to activate the magnetizers in His front hooves, keeping Him from going sliding with it. Gritting His teeth He slowly made His way to the captins quarters and got inside. The captain was trying Her best to get the ship back under control, but without one of the stabilizers it was not looking good. Just then there was another explosion and with it the ship started nose diving.
The captain tumbled into Bronze, His mag-locked hooves keeping them from both going tumbling further to the former wall. “T-Thanks Bronze” the cpt said quicky, casting a quick spell to allow Her to walk on the now wall. Bronze blushed a lil but shook it off, things were way to bad for Him to get flustered, “what do we do captian?!” He said, a lil panic in His voice. She sighed and shook Her head, “not much we can do at this point, we can’t save the ship at this point and with the griffons out there… well this might be the end…” She said saddly. Bronze watched in shock, the idea that He was going to die paralyzing Him, “s-so we’re all d-dead” He said quietly.
Cpt. Aster shook Her head, “not necessarily, as you know the ship has plenty of stuff in place in case of a crash landing” She said as She went thru Her notes. Bronze nodded, doing His best to calm down, “what are you doing?” He asked as He looked over at Her. She smiled nervously as She packed all Her notes into a saddle bag and put it on Him, “making sure that no matter what, our time out here was not for nothing” She said softly as Her horn glowed. “W-What do you mean!?” Bronze asked, confused and worried, “I’m gona test my new spell on you and hopefully make sure you and our hopes live on…” She said with a sad smile. Gathering all Her magic She began casting the spell, “goodbye my good friend, may we meet again in better times” She said and casted the spell on Him before He could protest.
Before He could say a word the world around Him was replaced with far off lights and emptiness. Bronze fell thru the “void” for what felt like forever, when suddenly one of those far off light came crashing into Him. A feeling like electricity rushed thru His body as the world appeared around Him, His head throbing like crazy. The world around Him was bright and colorful, completely different from His home, “ughh.. w-where am I?” He said quietly as His legs gave out and crashed to the dirt. He saw hooves quickly approaching along the dirt, “a-are you ok!?” Said a deep voice above Him as the world faded to black.

Campaign 1 Part 4: Off to Thundertree
From part 3
When last we left our heroes, they had just completed clearing out the Rembrants’ crash pad. They made friend with a monster and looted a bunch of crap. Mirea and Traxion needed to stay in town the following day, so the rest of our crew finished up a bunch of piddly little side trips. First, they visited the unfortunately named Nards, completed the “take out an Orc waffle bar” mission, hit on an elf ghost for a book, get recruited by the Scientologists and finally, get sauced…
Part 4
Sitting around the breakfast table, our heroes are recovering from their various hangovers. Well, most of them…
“I got the innkeeper to make us bacon and toast!” says Teiris, cheerily. “There’s also coffee and eggs if you’re feeling up to it.” She sets down plates with bacon, eggs, and toast points arranged in the shape of a happy face.
Mirea glares at her compatriot. “Coffee. Now.”
Teiris hands out tankards of coffee as she starts singing:
Mr. Sun came up and he smiled at me Said it's gonna be a good one just wait and see Jumped out of bed and I ran outside Feeling so extra ecstatified It's the best day ever /(Best day ever) It's the best day ever/ (Best day ever) I'm so busy got nothing to do Spent the last two hours just tying my shoe Every flower, every grain of sand Is reaching out to shake my hand
Baze and Maik wonder loudly if they threw a dagger right now, would it make Teiris shut up. Silvanhost slowly takes one of the plates and starts to eat.
Traxion takes a plate and coffee with a smile and thanks her cheerily and starts singing along. More grunts and glares are thrown around.
Korrin takes his plate with a grunt. “I hate morning people…”
Capt. Aerostar sticks with coffee. “So what are we doing today?”
“Didn’t we want to go get Whatshisface?”
“I thought we were waiting for that elf dude to get back.”
“Oh, yeah…” More silence. “So are we sitting around doing nothing?”
“I thought we had to go to that one place… lightning bush?” Teiris asks.
They all stare at each other. “Thundertree.”
~~~~
“You know,” Teiris mused aloud, “for a place called Thundertree, you’d expect more thunder and less trees.”
Cpt. Aerostar glances back at her, rolling her eyes. She swings her short sword and clears more of the brush off the path.
Baze takes the lead and notices some interesting plant life. “Hey, guys. You know those plants we’ve been whacking?”
Maik replies, “Yeah, what about them?”
“One of them just said hi.”
The group looks around at the plants, then at each other.
“Sentient plants…” Silvenhost murmurs. “Who knew?” He starts slashing away again.
In the distance, they see a bunch of buildings. Traxion and Silvenhost look at each other. “Race you!” and take off running towards one that looks suspiciously like a mausoleum.
“Hey, shouldn’t we go with them?” Teiris asks?
Korrin shakes his head. “They need the XP.”
~~~~~
Traxion and Silvenhost make it to the building and stop at the entrance. “Should we check for traps?”
“Sure!”
“Cool. You first.”
Traxion shuffles in. “No traps, just some Ash Zombies.”
Cue battle music. Both gents are surprisingly effective in the battle, but when they stagger back to the group, Traxion is unhealthily pale. “Healing please? Please?”
Korrin shakes his head and lays hands upside his head, healing him. Teiris pulls out her fiddle and throws a few healing words his way too. (I HEAL GOOD/NA NA NA NA NA NA NA/I KNEW THAT I WOULD/NA NA NA NA NA NA NA)
In another building, Teiris kneels down to play with some of the twigblights. “They’re like bowtruckles, guys!” She lets them be while investigating the building near her. Korrin and the Captain stomp in, trampling the twigblights, and in turn, cheesing them off. They attack. After one of the more violent episodes of garden wars, the building is clear and they find a chest of coins.
Baze, Mirea, and Gerrol stumble into the other building and are surprised by more twigblights. These ones aren’t as nice as bowtruckles, so they start attacking. Baze attacks the nearest shrubbery while Mirea mutters, “Oh for Gary’s sake” and starts roasting everything. Roasted shrubbery smells surprisingly like weed, notes Baze who attempts (and fails) to hide. Instead, he wanders off…
~~~~~
Maik, in the meantime, turns into a weasel and starts scouting ahead. But he doesn’t find zombies. He finds giant spiders.
Half of the party almost nopes out right then and there.
Baze heads into the tower ruins. He hears growling and faint moaning from a closed door and cautiously investigates. Opening the door, he sees a sleeping green dragon. He slowly backs out the doorway, desperately trying not to wake it.
He doesn’t succeed.
~~~~~
Maik and Mirea have the “good” luck of stumbling into a ruin strewn with spiderwebs. Several giant spiders turn their attention to the duo. Maik backs out without an incident. Mirea, not so much…
“Eww Eww Eww It’s all over me!!!” she shrieks.
Maik attacks one of the spiders, cutting a hole in its abdomen. Mirea cheers, “Make the hole in the butt bigger!!”
After a series of unlucky swings, Mirea finally kills the spider. The others go running.
Gerrol, Traxion and Cpt. Aerostar enter the next building, an old farmhouse. Traxion investigates, but gets distracted by how nice he looks in the window reflection. Aerostar sees more twigblights, which attack Traxion. Traxion, feeling a bit weak, touches himself and heals. Invigorated, he then casts weedwhacker and takes out two of the twigblights. Cpt. takes out two more… and two more… Gerrol hits the last one and the trio is victorious. They search the room and find… dust.
~~~~~
Korrin and Teiris investigate another building. They attack the door and succeed, committing B & E. As they’re wandering through the room, a man enters, brandishing a large stick.
“What the hell are you doing?” he yells.
They turn around, ready to throw down. “AAAHHH!!!”
The rest of the crew hear the yelling and come running.
Radolf, seeing the rest of the attackers, starts to babble. “Wait, wait! I’m part of the Emerald Enclave! I need your help!”
Maik step forward. “You’re Emerald Enclave? I’m Emerald Enclave! Which division?”
“The Lime Lodge!”
“Chartreuse Chamberlains!”
They do their secret handshake, jump in the air for a chest bump and cheer.
“What’s up, dude?” Maik asks.
“Well, see, there’s this dragon…”
~~~~~
Baze, jumps into a pile of dead spiders in a valiant attempt to hide from a waking dragon. He sees another giant spider running towards him and attacks it in desperation. It goes down, dead. Baze runs down the hill screaming. “Dragon! Dragon!”
~~~~~
They hear flapping and their rogue screaming and head outside. Yep, there’s a dragon…
“Not it!”
“Nose goes!”
“Viking!”
“You’re putting the bard in front!?” Teiris looks around. “What the heck am I supposed to do?” She flails a bit and starts to sing:
Mmm, I'm shattered, unh Sha oobie, shattered, unh Sha oobie, shattered Sha oobie, shattered, shattered
Shatter is cast and hits. Captain Aerostar tries to halt the battle, seeing the dragon is a young one, but panic has already set in and the fight is on. After a long, drawn out battle, they’re victorious. As they take a few moments to recover, Maik goes drone as a bunch of ravens and scopes out the rest of the area. Korrin, Teiris and Aerostar follow after him, clearing the last bunch of ash zombies.
They all end up at the last building not in ruins. Here they come across a group of cultists. Maik comes down and does the secret handshake with the head cultist and all is well. Maik gets a field promotion to Spring Warden Second Class, complete with the 15% coupon for Jamba Juice.
Next: Off to rescue Greyworm Rotunda.
AMA and United Healthcare Combine Efforts to Once Again To Push CMS To Institute Algorithmic and ICD Coding To Rip Off Patients/Deny Access–It’s the Next Chapter of Excess Scoring in the US To Keeps Inequality/Segmentation Rolling
If you have not seen the latest with these two, take a look at to how they want to use segmentation for profit. It is so much of a "One Trick Algo” World out there anymore, the can’t hardly create enough bullshit commentary to cover up what’s really going on. These two have been doing stuff like this for years, as I’ve written about a lot of it during the active years of my blog. Way back in the early days of small developers creating EMRs before the government got involved, there were many of us that just sat back and wondered why the AMA always showed full on preference for anything United Healthcare (namely the Ingenix subsidiary which was being run by former CMS director Andy Slavitt at the time) came out with. It just went on and on and you too can search in the web’s archives and find a lot of it, as well as just searching my blog for that matter. AMA has been making money selling Ingenix (now Optum) coding books forever on their site. Here’s a link from 2010 below as an example of the cushy AMA/UNH relationship over the years. ClickFreeMD Selling Software EHR, Practice Management Bundled Records Solution–Emphasis on AMA Endorsement And Software “Powered” by Ingenix–Tethered or Untethered Now we have this data plague as I call it of an issue of Excess Scoring. I wrote about that a few years ago as our entire country is totally whacked out on the fact that everything needs to be scored, and that’s not true at all, some of the best things in life are NOT scored. Here’s some back links. Excess Scoring of US Consumers, US Citizens-Scored into Oblivion By Proprietary Algorithms and Formulas, Never Duplicated or Tested for Accuracy-Profits of Big Business And A White House Executive Command To Continue the Abuse.. The End of “Consumer Common Sense” in the US-Fueled by Excess Scoring for Profit, Sustained By Media Publications Serving To Further The Inability For Simple Every Day Life Decisions… United Healthcare Now Offering Employers Wearable Wellness Devices- UnitedHealthcareMotion–More Data To Mine And Sell With Related Risk Assessment Scoring Processes About You-Excess Scoring Actually when I was communicating with a former CMS executive about this, they said it was right out of United Healthcare's 2010 report, the stratification report, which also went way over the top on telling people how UNH thought they should raise their kids and indeed this is right on the same line of thought with these ICD Codes. Doctors, nurses alike think the the AMA and United Healthcare are out of their minds and can see especially with Part D, its a way to lop on more risk so UNH can bill the government more money, called RISK FIDDLING. So get a load of this nonsense on how the AMA and United Healthcare want to code you, so they can use the result sin run you through a ton of other data bases to deny or allow access. That’s what this is all about if you haven’t figured it out yet. You should also know that once you get coded or tagged with this nonsense coding and US caste system type of scores, that it never comes off. You will be stuck with one of these balls and chains forever, so hey WTF, let’s score everyone with Z60.82 for Inadequate social interactions. This is such a piss poor model that I bet even the Quants that created it must be cringing, you know they don’t have to like or believe all the crap their employers want them to do but they have families to feed.
You are already getting the crap scored out of you every time you fill a prescription, and yes it’s the PBMS using this scoring system that was created with Ingenix algorithms that were sold to Express Scripts in 2010, yeah another Andy Slavitt algo game for cash, as UNH made him and his former partner, Senator Warren’s daughter, Amelia quite wealthy in 1999 when UNH bought their company, which was basically nothing more than a script discount operation and they made money from the PBMs. So here’s how the pharmacists are directed to “score” you or they can lose their jobs. Patients Who Pay “Cash” When Filling Prescriptions Are Now Called “Outliers, Pharmacists Required to Fix Outliers as They Show Up As Non Medication Adherence Compliant With 5 Star Systems Full of Flawed Data… The bottom line here is that the AMA and United Healthcare are making complete fools of everyone thinking that some brainchild coding is going to change anything, as it won’t, it will more than likely end up costing more money as of course it will end up requiring software updates, right…LOL…and the AMA will get paid royalties for creating new CPT codes that will have to go along to match the ICD diagnosis codes so doctors can get paid to throw you under the Bad Algo Coding bus where you will not only see potential limitations in care today, but this will follow you forever and make it harder for you to jump through more algorithmic hoops that the Quants will model. If you’re not getting this, then watch my video at the link below and then continue on to watch the 4 videos from others and see how far down in the algo toilet you might be. Algorithms, Scoring Metrics, Privacy and more in today’s Healthcare business world–The Healthcare Algo Cartel Again I’ve been writing about algo abuse and and cheating code for years, and it’s happening everywhere, as with software you can do something about anything, create little virtual worlds where folks function and create new little virtual values, but what happens when the real world comes knocking? The dupes sadly go click on One Trick Algos for even a deeper saturation of perception deception. That’s what this coding BS for care here is all about and somebody needed to say it, as they are virtual values that will not end up helping you one bit, but the AMA and UNH will profit royally as they have practices algorithms deception for years. I think today it’s only 15% of the MDs in the US are members of the AMA, so many have dropped out as it’s more of a lobby for money now versus representing doctors in the US and this movement has been going on for years. UNH is and has been the king pin for Quant modelers for years so everything modeled mathematically from that corporation needs extensive scrutiny as it geared for shareholders first, patients second, the massive number of algorithmic subsidiaries tells that story well. We need to index and license ALL data sellers so we can get an idea of what’s really going on in the black box scoring algorithms executing code unknown everyday, and remember we just see the front ends so remember there’s a whole other reality in how those algos collect your data, score you, screw you, etc. for the sake of corporate profits. “One Trick Algo World” Needs to be Licensed and Indexed–Spurious Correlations “For Profit” Are Out of Control
Journal Entry #2
Vianne and I (carrying young Sophie) welcoming Captain Beck, who chose to billet in our house during the German occupation in France.
Update: July 1940
A few days later after the unexpected turn of events, I decided to tune in to the local radio news station when Cpt. Beck was out running errands to discover the ultimate fate of France. I bent down to turn on the radio mounted on top of the coffee table. Static filled the silence in the living room until I finally turned the knob to the correct station. Listening to the news intently alongside my sister and her daughter Sophie, I could not retract my gaping mouth as I took in the news. Basically, Marshal Pétain, the war hero of France in the Great War, surrendered without a fight! I mean seriously, at least let your men die for France instead of freely handing them to the Germans to put them in concentration camps! The surrender was a hard pill to swallow but I had no voice in military decisions, so what could I do? Shutting off the radio, I slowly looked up to find Vianne with tears flowing down her plump cheeks, murmuring “Antoine..” over and over again and I realized that her husband was one of the inexperienced French soldiers who was stationed at the front lines. I fiddled around with the radio knob, hoping to find another news network that would have a different take on the situation at hand until the static gave way to a deep voice. I could not hold back the tears that flowed down my cheeks. Someone out there by the name of General de Gaulle has offered me a once in a lifetime opportunity to join the French resistance and all I had to figure out was how to answer his call. With my morale a little higher than usual, I took our ration cards (which are now used to obtain leftover food these days since the Germans destroyed the economy and looted most of the good food), put on my boots, and opened the front door. I flew through the stone gate past Captain Beck who just came back from work and ran into the city with a smile on my face, knowing that the French have not given up just yet.
