- Branch was following poppy to help get the cows that they had lost from pop village and poppy new one perosn Delta Dawn who could help them! - That's when you two first met of course, The country architecture makes use of natural colors with patchwork fabrics, using of a lot of wood and natural structures like cactuses being in common use. Colors tend to be beige, with use of sandy colors like yellow, pale orange and brown as the air smelled like BBQ and an mix of smell of spring, wild flowers, primroses and bluebells, honeysuckle, and blackthorn. - Delta nodded listening to poppy as branch raised an brow when hearing Delta call behind her to an F/C Troll fitting with all the other trolls... Well to poppy (name) did but to branch he couldn't help but purse his lips - As soon as you now stood beside Delta Dawn you chuckled smirking tipping your cowboy hat towards Branch who froze staring at you - "It's darn good ta see some awful new folk!" you said laughing crossing your arms beside Delta who rolled her eyes playfully "Meet my friend (name) queen poppy... They are the best roper in our town" Delta said placing an hand on your shoulder as you chuckled "Done heard y'all fancy pop trolls need some help" poppy squealed as branch eyes you suspiciously

- Branch didn't trust you for a bit but he can't believe eyeing your figure. - You looked like the common Country Troll you had the basic troll body type from the waist upwards, save their choice of attire, with the lower half of their bodies being that of a horse, complete with hooves and tails.  - He noticed you have large front teeth at the front of their upper jaw and either rounded or pointy ears. Your hair was puffy, but does stick up. They tend to have a beigetone coloration. -Your Colors vary per individual and they either wear full-body outfits that cover everything but their head, hooves and tail, though some are seen wearing typical 10 gallon cowboy hats and trucker caps, or just a jacket or shirt around their chest area. Their legs are quite small, and their overall body tends to be the biggest part of their physical build, with a lot of it taken up by their centaur-like part. Their upper area often is comparable to other Trolls despite this, and isn't much different in size at all. Despite the differences, they physically stand about the same height as other Trolls from head to feet, though their overall size is smaller due to how they keep their hair. At first glance, they all appeared friendly but you? He couldn't help but pause - "Ain'tcha pretty as a peach" You said bending down towards him as his eyes wiened gone from his thoughts as he raises an brow as you chuckle lightly - When you three left to help Poppy asked you everything about yourself which you laughed an enjoyed unaware that Branch was noting all the information down... He didn't know why but he just did - But when poppy asked about your genre of country you told her you wrote country rock which branch was invested in asking you about it out of nowhere taking out an note book and pencil from his hair as you explained to him. - "Country rock is a style of music that fuses traditional country music with rock 'n' roll. While country rock bears close resemblance to some folk rock and rockabilly, it is considered a genre unto itself!" you explained with an smile as Branch nodded - After helping them out and he couldn't help but watch you easily lasso all the missing cows back towards the fenced area - He couldn't help but be fascinated about how you appreciate the simpler things in life like natural beauty and spending time with those you cared for.

- Would listen to your Country rock songs and how you were able to mix the two together - You told him how The Country Trolls love Country music, and their life is one big shindig. Although all of you appear friendly at first, these Trolls can be mistrusting towards strangers, especially towards Trolls of other Tribes, and can show aggression like before they made peace - You told him that Country Children might be expected to work from the moment they're born by their parents. The typical Country Troll is simple and laid-back, but can be highly-strung when angered or things go wrong. - He wanted to be one of those people he didn't know why but he needed. - They also have a strong sense of family and community, and value traditional values. - Dating you had given branch and small break of pop trolls as when he goes hanging out with you. - Branch soon started to hangout with you on the country side when he gets to sick of everybody - He likes to sit on this tree beside you as he talks about his interests and plans he had about safety that you listened to as you tuned your guitar

- You two would start visiting each other more then usual some times staying over at eachothers people starting to suspect your dating - Branch learns country slang and had gotten used to your accent was wheezing and laughing when you curse someone out who seemed rude - He fell first and you fell harder for him

- You two would confess to each other when you made an new country rock song - he's been tryiing to confess for awhile but gave up last minute so when he was lucky and relaxed he confessed. He's so romantic and would confess to you with an huge relaxed face as you turn into an flustered mess "Heavens To Betsy! Branch" You said laughing covering your face abit

- You too would officially date after like 5 dates

- when you two are together and your speaking in slanged words in annoyance or arguing with someone. Poppy and the other pop trolls have to turn to eachother then turn to branch who has to explain with an bored expression about teh slang words or go to other country trolls who were chuckling at the scene. - You love eachother so much and when he takes you to meet his family for the first time in ever... it was whoa... so much

- When he introduced you to his brothers your jaw dropped so fast your boyfriend was in the famous boy band but you didnt care and just kissed his cheek - You would call him by weird southern pet names like baby, sweetheart, precious, buttercup, princess, love bug. The list could go on. You loves how flustered he gets whenever you call him any of these names.

New g/t fic Concept:

A borrower grows up and currently lives in a western themed antique shop.

He lost his family at a young age and with what little survival skills he had he learned to survive and has been on his own since.

The only skill he knew for sure was to stay hidden from Beans, because if you got caught then surly you would meet death or worse. His family had made a fine example of that.

But the one constant in this borrowers young life without parents to raise him is the never ending playing of old westerns on the many retro t.v.’s He sees these characters in himself and the many ways the these hero’s survived the Wild West.

His favorite film was about a simple boy named Jessie. Jessie just like the borrower grew up with very little and no family, he lived a very hard life.

But when Jessie was falsely accused of stealing the towns cattle and money, the boy has to go on the run and become the ultimate gunslinger, cattle roper, and hero to prove his innocence and find the real culprit to save the town.

And the borrower swore there was no better film on this earth. Jessie could do anything and be anything. Not to mention Jessie’s actor was in many other western films where he was this unstoppable hero.

So from then on the young Borrower decided he himself would be called Jessie, and he would live up to his name. He dressed like him, talked like him, and tried his best to live like him, while all the while hiding from the many beans who entered the shop.

And so the Cowboy Borrower was born…

Katie is a young woman who had just recently inherited a small amount of farmers land and the simple cottage that came with it. She’s ready to start her new life with her college friends the town over to help support her.

After living in her new home for about three months she has managed to start to raise chickens, a single dairy cow, of course her trusted barn cat Lucy.

It is after these three months that her college friends invite her on an outing to go antique shopping, and with at a glance at an empty shelf and her friends calling her how could she decline on a fun outing.

The group had just finished walking the square of this small town when a certain antique shop caught the young women’s eye. It was almost completely western themed.

It was no secret that Katie’s house was decorated in almost every fashion imaginable, but she did have a western collection that she would like to grow, and what better place to do that then here?

It was in that shop that she found truly the best find. A whole set of cowboy themed tea cups with a matching picnic blanket and basket, and the best part yet was the adorable tiny cowboy doll inside.

went to the rodeo hadn't been to a real rodeo for a long time last one was near Standing Rock in Mo- bridge South Dakota a real western rodeo great riders & ropers best as I can remember after the rodeo there was a demolition derby with and then show of firecrackers & fireworks

this rodeo wasn't so real western it was wisconsin rodeo with wisconsin riders, sconnie livestock, little sheep small horses mere bullocks and local men for ropers & riders not the lean lupine travellers with dislocated hips instead 45 minutes every town kid making a mutton bust

these tired sheeps plunged from their pen at fractions a mile an hour kid clung on til they flopped them off after a few seconds that's a 62.5 called the announcer in the ugly baritone of a lawn edger from iowa

after the kids all fell off the announcer announced we'd be ceremonizing this gathering with the our father and nat'l anthem "two books you have to read before you die the holy bible & the us constitution, both of them are about the same thing, one nation under god".

Synopsis: A collector of occult items finds herself stranded on an island with a lighthouse and its keeper, and the ghosts of her past come back to haunt her.

Setting: Rocky shores somewhere off the coast of Oregon, 1938

Vibe: mist, gulls, rocky shores, candle wax against floorboards and window panes, loose parchment, ink-stained fingertips, the chill of breath against your neck, brine-bleached pant cuffs, the taste of charcoal and ash

Touchstones & Inspiration: Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Mummy, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lighthouse, As Above So Below

Characters:

Mim - A headstrong and well-educated young woman who had her childhood stolen by grievers and grifters alike, mind now set to debunk the occult and acquire mystical and magical items if for no other reason than to prove the science (and often, coincidence) behind them. Often seen as a ‘tomboy’ or ‘unladylike’, Mim isn’t afraid to roll up her sleeves and get her hands dirty.

Buck - The keeper of a lighthouse, appointed decades, maybe centuries, before to ferry lost souls from one life onto the next. He’s set in his ways, resigned to the task gifted to him by whatever higher power, and grateful. He keeps to himself, only traveling off the island every month or so to restock his own supplies and to send trinkets back to the loved ones of those who had passed on. 

Excerpt:

One such a thunderstorm, big lightning in the clouds and crocodile tears, moved Cecily’s birth into the barn. Ropers and ranchers, big men with bigger hands, all huddled around mama in her pile of hay, ready to catch knobby ankles and pull. Rain beat a steady rhythm against the ground, pooling dirt to mud, and Cecily bleated her woeful lament in tandem, big eyes bulging on either side of that wide, caramel forehead. Mim shushed, petting the patch of fur there, hoping it’d soothe the great, wide bovine while she struggled to birth what they all were sure to be twins.  Laid out behind Mama Cow was a slender little calf, four legs, two ears, slowly blinking open two big, brown eyes. Black and white spots were dyed a deep purple-red like the mashing of grapes between toes, and the hay beneath the new baby clung to him like feathers to tar.

Interview with Cari Lynn Webb and the Three Springs Texas Series

The first four books in the “Three Springs Texas series” by Cari Lynn Webb will draw on reader’s emotions.  They will smile, cry, and take a journey with the characters.

The Texas Seal’s Surprise has Abby James coming to visit her cousin, Tess, in the small town of Three Springs Texas. She is a single pregnant woman whose fiancé cheated on her. She initially meets Wes, the hero, after her car has a flat tire.  Wes is a grieving son, the angry brother, the loyal friend. He’s a man who has tried his best to avoid roots as he puts his life on hold to chase what he thinks will make him happy. That is until he meets Abby who is the direct opposite, someone who wants roots and a family. Yet, although both try to avoid their feelings, they realize how much they are attracted to each other.

Trusting The Rancher with Christmas is probably the best book of the series although all are great. Paige Palmer is on "vacation" for the holidays and visiting her sister, Tess, and her cousin, Abby. Her vacation wasn't her idea, but after a huge blow-up at the veterinary clinic in Chicago where she works, she's put on a two-week cooling-off period. She is struggling internally to try to find what she really wants. Because the current vet is laid up, Paige is asked by a little girl, Riley, to save her favorite pet cow who is very sick. After consulting with the vet, Paige goes to the ranch owned by Evan Bishop to help cure the sick animals.  But what ends up happening is that Evan and Paige end up healing their hearts with the help of Riley. 

Her Cowboy Wedding Date Is Tess’s story. She has two weeks to plan her cousin Abby’s wedding to Wes. She wants to make the ceremony perfect and enlists the help of best man Carter Sloan. Even though he has other concerns like starting a business and helping his brothers reunite their grandfather, Sam, with their uncle Roy, he agrees to help Tess. The two clash and have differing opinions, but both realize there is a spark between them. The question is can Carter overcome his cynicism and can she open her heart again.

Falling for the Cowboy Doc is the book that transitions the series from city gals who find their cowboys to working cowgirls. Maggie Orr along with her sister, Kelsey, are professional ropers. They are looking forward to a possibility of obtaining a national sponsorship. This is what they have dreamed of doing, but Kelsey is injured. The doctor, Grant Sloan, gives the bad news that she cannot compete and will need shoulder surgery. Fate and an instant attraction put Maggie and Grant together. Both keep telling themselves that they must focus on their careers and are not the dating type. After her sister Kelsey finds someone, Maggie wants to spend more time with Evan. She loosens her heart a bit, and Grant realizes that between Maggie and his brothers he might want to stay in Three Springs.

Readers will enjoy the plot lines and the chemistry between the characters.  There is a heartwarming overall theme that has the hero and heroine needing to make decisions regarding the future each of them wants and wondering if they are willing to make sacrifices to have a future together.

Elise Cooper: How did you get the idea for the stories?

Cari Lynn Webb: I like to write my characters as people I would hang out with and the setting of Three Springs with a strong community. Each book in the series has instant attraction, but not instant love.  The series is split into two parts.  The first part has the female lead, a city gal who comes to a small town and meets her cowboy.  The stories have the women as “fish out of water,” a little out of their comfort zone, but they end up thriving. Each of the first three books highlights a sister and a cousin.  The second part of the series has real cowgirls, which is their profession. I approached the stories from that angle. The cowgirls have stories to tell.

EC:  Each of the first three books in the series gives a role to the horses?

CLW:  My dog is more like a person in my life.  I speak to my dog. I have a Goldendoodle. She is my princess people with animals, whether horses, dogs, cows, bunnies, or goats, consider them family members. In the stories the horses are named and have personalities.  

EC:  How would you describe the heroine, Abby in the first book, The Texas Seal’s Surprise?

CLW:  She is a city gal, a daydreamer, optimist, spirited, gritty, and sincere. She learns by the end of the story to believe in herself and finds her way. 

EC:  The hero, Wes?

CLW:  Composed, confident, stubborn, level-headed, practical, cynical, and arrogant. 

EC:  Their relationship?

CLW:  With each other they are infuriating, distracted, and intrigued.  He sees her as a complication, and she sees him as a challenge. Not on Wes’s priority list is a romance.

EC:  In book two, Trusting the Rancher with Christmas, how would you describe the heroine, Paige?

CLW:  She is another city gal who is observant, frustrated, restless, likes challenges, and loves animals.  In the beginning she goes along to get along and does not have the Christmas spirit because of her dad’s passing. 

EC:  The hero in this book, Evan?

CLW:  He is a good single dad who is doting.  He is hard working, dedicated, protective, and easy going. Sometimes we do not hear a lot about the single dads out there.

EC:  What is the role of Riley, Evan’s six-year-old daughter?

CLW: She is motherless. She thinks of her pet cows as her daughters.  Riley can be fierce, determined, sweet, innocent, enthusiastic, and humorous.  Her goal in life is to want her dad happy.

EC:  The relationship between Paige and Evan?

CLW: They both avoid their feelings. Riley is the go-between.�� Paige loosens up because of Riley who brings Paige back to finding some happiness.  Paige and Evan know each other’s mannerisms and small details, which brings them closer together. 

EC:  This book goes a lot into the relationship between the sisters Paige and Tess?

CLW:  They walk on eggshells with each other.  There are secrets they are not sharing.  Both feel the relationship is fractured and distant but want to find that bond again. 

EC: In book three, Her Cowboy Wedding Date, Tess gets her happy ending?

CLW: She is patient, caring, and determined.  Readers realize that in book one Tess mourned her husband, but in this book, they also understand that he was not the one for her. By book three she has a different attitude toward her late husband.  In book one she was grieving him, so some stuff was not quite clear. As time went on, she looked back and can see things differently because she is in a different headspace.

EC:  How would you describe the hero, Carter?

CLW:  Charming, a businessman, driven, stubborn, very competitive, overbearing, and blunt. Being the oldest of five brothers he shouldered a ton of responsibility. 

EC:  Their relationship?

CLW:  Tess is hesitant to open her heart up again. She wants something she did not have in the first marriage, someone who is a friend, honest, and loyal. She finds Carter irritating, who gets under her skin.  He sees her as complicated but is fascinated by her.  Both had loving grandparents with a good marriage, so Tess and Carter had role models. 

EC:  The book just released, Falling for the Cowboy Doc, is the one that makes the transition in the series?

CLW:  This book has the rest of the Sloan brothers along with Carter. I am immediately hooked by the Sloan family. This is the first book in the cowgirl story.

EC:  The hero is Dr. Grant Sloan, an orthopedic surgeon?

CLW:  He is stubborn, headstrong, who I nicknamed “Dr. Dry Clean,” because he is so stiff.  He is also a loner, vulnerable, serious, focused, dedicated, and reserved. He was close to his brothers as a child, but now has built a wall.

EC:  How about the heroine, Maggie?

CLW:  She is decisive, charming, sweet, and likes to blend in. 

EC:  What about her sister Kelsey?

CLW:  She is strong-minded, reckless, and protective. I put in a brief love story for her. Although on a smaller scale than Maggie she has her own growth as well.

EC:  What about the relationship between Maggie and Kelsey?

CLW:  They are loyal to each other, business partners, teammates, and each other’s anchor. They also have secrets from each other.  Basically, holding back information. 

EC:  The relationship between Maggie and Grant?

CLW:  They try to avoid their feelings for one another. They are both career minded.  She tells him her mind and keeps him off balance. They are exasperated with each other. It seems to them an impossible situation because each is going in different directions. 

EC:  Can you explain the book quote, “growing up does not mean growing apart”?

CLW:  I have seen from personal experiences how people get together in a relationship and try to stop the other from growing.  Who someone is at the beginning is not who they will be at the end. People grow and change, and they should have someone who will grow and change with them. There should be a commitment to grow together and to challenge one another to become a better person.

EC: What about the older characters, Sam, Roy, and Boone?

CLW: In the second round of books readers will see a lot of Sam and Roy.  I wanted to write these characters because I was very close with my grandparents, on both sides. They can teach by having someone sit down with them and have a conversation.  We need to listen to the older generations’ life experiences and advice.

EC:  The next books?

CLW:  His Christmas Cowgirl comes out in November.  March 2024 is the next book. The last one in the series comes out in August 2024.

Diesel and Chance had won their round -- fastest team ropers that the Montana rodeo had seen in ten years. They'd worked their asses off to get here, to get to this circuit.

Smiling, the cowboy reached out to take the cowboy-actor's hand in happy cow-poke fashion. He was a good old boy, kind and sweet. They spoke on the small things, about the race mostly, but there was something Diesel had truly wanted to ask him. He knew his baby sister would kick his ass if he'd left her out.

"If you don't mind, could I call my lil sister over," Diesel asked, pointing to Lisa in the distance who was in line for a beer and nachos before the bronc riding started ( her favorite part of the rodeo, mind you ). "Lisa's a big fan and I know she'd kill me if I met you and she didn't."

Cooper had fans, that he knew, and he was no stranger to a woman's affections. Yet seeing her blow him a kiss kicked something loose in him and made his stomach flip. The divorce had been hard, his move had been harder, and he wasn't sure he was even in the mental space to be with someone new yet but getting a small taste of affection from a complete stranger felt invigorating somehow. He may have been blackballed in Hollywood, yet someone still loved him as he was.

Try as he may he couldn't stop his gaze from floating back to the stands, and back to this mystery woman. He did his job, of course, shooting the shit with some of the other riders and the officials during his downtime, taking photographs with fans and signing autographs. But when he got a spare moment, he found himself watching her, trying to assess for himself what it was that drew his attention to her. He was off to the side where it was easier for him to see her than the other way around, and he was grateful for the opportunity to be the voyeur for once.

Suddenly the crowd erupted as the next event began and he saw her stand and cheer, hollering much louder for this rider than she'd been previously. His attention shifted from her to the open arena to watch.
