I’ll tell you the psychology. When we are children, we have a phase of social-emotional development called the self-centered phase, where we have not yet developed the capacity to empathize or to consider others' perspectives, especially during decision making, which is largely still guided by meeting the needs and wants of the self. Some people do not grow out of this phase.

Yes, yes … Boris Johnson. I’m waiting for updates on the medical condition of the gloriously world weary and ravaged Marianne Faithfull. Over the weekend the news broke that the 73-year old chanteuse / post-punk equivalent of Edith Piaf is now hospitalized in London. Faithfull initially went into hospital with suspected pneumonia, but inevitably then tested positive for coronavirus. The official statement from her management company is that she is stable, responding to treatment and not on a ventilator, but this development is alarming because Faithfull ticks all the “high risk” boxes (she’s over seventy and has multiple health problems including emphysema). If Marianne Faithfull survives this, she really is indestructible!
Let’s face it: the puritanical, hypocritical and homophobic hellsite Tumblr has become a dying platform since it banned adult content in December 2018. I post here less and less. Follow me instead on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook or on my blog. Fuck Tumblr!

PWUDS COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE TO COVID19
1) DON’T SHARE pipe, bongs, vapes or joints, nasal tubes (for inhaling/snorting)’ and all injection equipment (including sterilized water)
2) If you’ve got the money, try to STOCK UP on your drugs of choice before tings deteriorate much further.
3) If you are a client of drug substitution programs (ie: OTP, MAT, OBOT, methadone, bupe, stims, marijuana, etc.) and particularly if you have a pre-existing condition that makes you vulnerable to infection, ask your doctor if you can GET A 3 MONTH TAKE HOME PRESCRIPTION (Most likely, due to US laws you wont be able to get this for methadone and Bupe) Most MAT or methadone clinics will have contingency plans on how best to serve their clients. Listen to your service provider!
4) If you have an opiate habit and are currently using the illegal drug trade to obtain your drugs, BE PREPARED TO GO THROUGH INVOLUNTARY WITHDRAWAL if your dealer(s) get sick. Have backup plans that include increasing the number of dealers you can score off of, drug substitution programs, & make sure you have all the necessary medications, food/drinks (especially protein-based and electrolyte boosting liquids) you will need to detox.
5) STOCK UP ON DRUG USING EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS and get enough to last you at least 3-4 weeks (longer if you are at high risk for infection and if programs can manage it.
6) WIPE DOWN drug packages/wraps with alcohol-based cleansers after your dealer drops them off or once you’ve picked them up (a minimum 60% alcohol concentration has been shown to effectively kill the virus). If your dealers are in the habit of carrying dope in their mouths ask them if they can change this habit during this outbreak- if they won’t, be careful handling the packages and do the cleaning as advised up above. Remember that anti-bacterial washes don’t kill viruses but can be better than nothing, especially if they contain alcohol.
7) AVOID PUTTING DRUG BAGS/WRAPS IN YOUR MOUTH, VAGINA OR ANUS. If you must carry it in your body, clean vigorously with an alcohol-based cleanser both before and after you take it out, and if carried in your mouth use an alcohol-based mouthwash afterwards.
😎 WASH YOUR HANDS!!! WITH, soap and hot water vigorously for at least 20 seconds (but longer if you can) every time you come into contact with others, after handling money and after you get your drug packages. Paper towels are preferred for drying hands, or at least use a clean towel.
9) PREPARE YOUR DRUGS YOURSELF and ensure that you don’t handle or touch other people’s equipment/drugs and don’t let them touch yours.
10) If you have symptoms or think you’re getting sick, AVOID GOING TO YOUR LOCAL HR PROGRAMS – HAVE THEM DELIVER TO YOU and tell them you are unwell so they can take the necessary precautions for their safety.
11) Be prepared for the POSSIBILITY OF NEEDLE EXCHANGES AND DRUG TREATMENT PROGRAMS CLOSING DOWN (and possibly drug detoxes) and follow steps 2, 3, 4 and 5 to reduce any problems related to running out of suplies or equipment.
12) Remember that people with compromised immune systems, lung diseases and other preexisting conditions are more at risk of contracting COVID19 and help keep them safe by keeping yourself safe – follow these and other harm reduction

FIVE TIPS FOR WORKING REMOTELY
With #COVID-19 now being a pandemic and the news being dominated by it, one topic is being moved to the forefront when talking about how to keep businesses running during this period: working remotely.
Working remotely is vastly different from being in an office building, with your co-workers. While some might argue about the effectiveness of either working environment, I think most people can agree to this: remote collaboration is not as effective as face-to-face collaboration.
With these challenges facing virtually every country on the planet, here are some tips on how to be effective while collaborating remotely to get you through these weeks of relative (or complete) isolation!
Webcams on!
While this may seem like an open door, I notice how little teams actually do this. Or that when teams do it, it’s not full teams doing it but only part of the team. Being able to see each other while you speak, work, collaborate adds considerable context to your interactions.
I’ve seen teams not just do this on conference calls, but also during times they do regular work, just like they’d be sitting next to each other. You’ll see when someone’s stepped out for a bit to grab a coffee, you’ll see if someone focus and know not to disturb them, yet you can talk to them when needed. It’s almost like sitting in the same office together!
Use the right communication tools
Use the right communication tools for the message you want to send. Something urgent? Give someone a phone call. It’s direct, synchronous communication and usually helps resolve those urgent matters.
Not in a hurry? Use an asynchronous tool like Microsoft Teams or Slack. This gives people a chance to respond at a time that suits them. Be sure to set expectations around response times though, as to not wait people days for an answer.
Is it something official that doesn’t need a response within 24 hours? E-mail is typically your friend here. Longer pieces of text don’t do well on tools like Microsoft Teams and they typically lack the formatting capabilities of e-mail. Try to limit the number of e-mails you send though, as not to overwhelm others with lots of reading work.
Set expectations about your working hours
When working remotely, it’s very easy to get sucked into long days or to sneak in a couple of extra hours at night. This is a self-accelerating scenario though. When working longer hours frequently, people start to expect that of you. That means it’s harder to stop doing it when you want to (or when things turn back to normal).
Set clear expectations with your co-workers on when you work: when does your day start, when do you take a break and when does your day end? This prevents issues with regard to other people’s expectations and helps you manage your work-life balance more effectively.
Take some extra breaks
When working in an office, people typically take some more (usually unnoticed) mental breaks. A chat at the coffee machine, running into someone on the way to your next meeting or the restroom, or having lunch with your co-workers. All of these things disappear when you’re working remotely, while these mental breaks are very important. They help you take a break from whatever you’re doing and allow you to continue work with a clearer mind after.
So, when working remotely, step away from your computer regularly. Stretch your legs a bit, get some fresh air, or even try to have an off-topic chat with a co-worker.
Run meetings differently
Remote meetings are vastly different from in-person meetings, so the setup and facilitation of these meetings should be vastly different as well. An hour-long PowerPoint presentation? It’s challenging to keep people focused on that in an in-person meeting, so it’s virtually impossible when it’s a video conference and people have all kinds of distractions available. It’s also a lot harder to use visual tools like whiteboards when on a video conference, tools that typically keep people naturally engaged during an in-person meeting.
Quick breakouts are typically a great way to keep people more engaged, especially if tasked with something for that breakout to be used as input for a follow-up conversation. Another great tool us using those tools created to support interaction while on a video conference, like virtual collaborative whiteboards or co-creation tools that allow everyone to participate.
Recognizing things are different during remote meetings though is typically the start. This should make everyone aware that the circumstances are different, and they will need to adapt.
In closing
While some might favor remote working over coming into the office, being co-located with your team or even in the office with your co-workers provide very valuable interaction that you simply can’t get when working remotely. So, while these tips might help you be more effective in working remotely, going back to the office once the COVID-19 pandemic is over or on its return is likely the best tip of them all!b

Let's all of us contribute towards defeating the demon called hashtag#covid19. WFM Media urges you to stay at home to break the chain of coronavirus. While you are staying home, we are taking an initiative to educate you to make your indoors healthy.
Did You Know: Excessive insulation and inadequate ventilation create dead and stale air which accumulates mites, viruses, bacteria, as well as moisture and harmful chemicals and breathing larger amounts of these pollutants can affect your health. Check out the article to make your indoors healthy, authored by Makarand Kendre, Area Sales Manager India, RENSON Ventilation - Sunprotection - Outdoor.
