(1) First Love: They dated during her 5th year. As you might've already guessed, their relationship was innocent, sweet, and fun-loving.

(2) Garreth Weasley: They started to date during their 7th year, and man, their journey was more of a slow burn. They both find a lot of fun in their relationship but also a good balance of depth, which Val loves.

You committed a crime and don't know what to do about it? Come here, let's work it out. This kid is sometimes even loyal to a fault, but she'll always have your back. WHAT'S YOUR MCs BACKSTORY?

— Val is the only child of a dark witch and wizard who constantly traversed the globe to do their illegal business. At some point, this business of theirs led to their untimely end. Then their now orphaned daughter was only four years old when it happened. Even though she was very young and can barely understand what occurred, this actually affected her deeply. Her parent's death caused a change in her appearance. Her pink hair become black, and her pink eyes became green.

Val was then taken in by her Uncle Phineas and Aunt Ursula. She lived with them in London alongside her two cousins at that time.

Growing up wasn't a particularly pleasant experience for Val. For instance, she would always get blamed or punished for things she didn't do. She doesn't get equal treatment like her cousins. Her uncle begrudgingly took her only because Val's father is his favorite sibling. And her extended family are just really something else (in a bad way).

Despite that, this kid created her own little world where she found solace, and that is her reading books and secretly attempting to follow some basic potion recipes. It feels illegal and sneaky for the young Val, but it gave her the chance to feel control of her life.

On the contrary, she eventually became her uncle and aunt's favorite when they noticed that the kid is brilliant and undeniably creative. But then, this was where the cousin rivalry started.

This became even worse when she didn't receive any acceptance letter from Hogwarts while her cousins did. For this reason itself, Val almost got disowned by her uncle, but was persuaded by her aunt to send her to a boarding school instead.

After she was successful sent there, it didn't go any better. Val had a hard time not feeling like a failure Squib. Other than that, she find it difficult to make friends, cope up with societal norms, carry the burden of family expectations, deal with adolescence, and worst, tragic loss of a friend.

After years of living in a constant state of darkness, she got into an accident that she unknowingly caused that time that would change the course of her life forever.

— A PARTY ANIMAL/LIFE OF THE PARTY!

I mean, sure, she's usually chill and all that, BUT when she's drunk, this gal be bustin' some sick moves! and the vibes? IMMACULATE. But sometimes, she just gets sleepy.

IN MODERN DAY, WHAT WOULD YOUR MC BE LIKE?

— Val would be that one charismatic/cool but very grounded person you'd meet. This kid probably doesn't use her social media (just for communication with friends only). She'd probably be an entrepreneur and/or pursue something in the arts. Her aesthetic would mainly be grunge/rock but also wears some classic pieces and something comfortable ! Also, I feel like this kid would have those cool cars (since she has like a lot of brooms). Another is, I think that she'd enjoy doing makeup, too! Probably, a philantropist as well. And most importantly, someone who wants to leave a good mark in the world.

WHAT IS YOUR MCs BIGGEST HEARTBREAK?

— When her first best friend took her life. This took a huge toll on Val. She'd get nightmares about it and sometimes blame herself for not doing enough to save her friend's life.

Another is her breakup with her first love. She loved him so much, but she knows that if they stay together, it's gonna hurt them. Choosing the right decisions isn't the easiest one to do. But in the grand scheme of things, it's for the best.

Kip & Tommy: ✨ORIGINS✨vol. 2!! Tommy’s origin story is sad, kinda bittersweet. (I’m not the most ~experienced~ comic maker and this story carries a much more serious tone than my usual stuff so I hope it has at least conveyed my narrative intentions appropriately and respectfully 🙏)

Background:

Tommy’s mom, Ruth, had a cousin named Tom with whom she was inseparable. In the 80’s, the two loved to go out drinking and clubbing, spent late nights gossiping, discussing men, dating, life, dreams, etc. They were true besties. 👯 Tom would even eventually introduce Ruth to one of his coworkers— her future husband, Mel.

Some years later, Ruth and Mel found themselves married with two little boys (Andy and John) and overwhelmed with parenting responsibilities. Busy with family life and now living further away, Ruth had sorta lost touch with her cousin. One day, she decided it was time to reach out. Upon reconnecting, she suddenly learned of his HIV diagnosis and immediately made efforts to go see him. They had a chance to spend some time and laugh together again, albeit not enough time. He gifted her a large chest which contained sentimental belongings, and told her to open it when the time was right. It was the last time she saw him.

This was an excruciating loss for Ruth. But about a month after Tom’s funeral, she found out she was pregnant. A wild miracle in a sea of grief. That child would be named after her dear late cousin Tom; he would grow up bearing a unique resemblance to his namesake, and even carry himself with a similar energy. Ruth sees so much of Tom in her son- it’s the sort of uncanny thing that often makes her emotional and ponder the nature of rebirth. She plans on someday giving that special chest to Tommy, when the time is right.

I think would have to be Carmy's scene in The Bear, when he's at the AA meeting and finally opens up. I just related so much, he says he didn't have friends growing up, he had a stutter, never had a girlfriend...here's the scene if you want to watch it. Trigger Warning though! And then at the end of the series ... god I don't want to spoil it for you, but I have never cried and laughed so loudly and so much at the same time.

When Jesper and Kaz are taken to see Dresden (or whatever his name is) but it's really to see Nikolai and just ... god the interaction, the witty banter. Kaz's side eye with Jesper about knowing about him being a durast.

In William Shakespeare's play, 'Much Ado About Nothing,' the scene where Beatrice and Benedick are talking and she yells, "O if I were a man! I would eat his heart in the marketplace!" (Here's the scene if you want to check it out). I got it tattooed actually, except it says "I'll eat his heart in the marketplace." To me, in the play, it means the social constructs are obstructing Beatrice from standing up for her cousin, but my tattoo means ... f*ck the social norm, f*ck tradition - I can and I will call anyone out. Let me know if anyone wants to see the tattoo... if no one cares, that's totally chill as well lol

My favourite quote would be Genya talking about her abuse from the King. It's so much more hard-hitting than in the tv show. I cried and cried while reading it. Because I think the King was still alive, and she got to say it to his face while Nikolai was there as well.

👯: What canon character are you most similar to?

Probably a cross between Wednesday and Eugene! I also share the "late bloomer with a rainbow aesthetic and a close relationship with a much more macabre character" that Enid has, but our personalities are pretty different.

📝: How would your story in canon go? How would you influence the events of the original story?

The gist is that my S/I is a distant cousin of the Addams Family who met Wednesday and Pugsley and showed them some of the video games I liked when they were younger, making me like an estranged relative that they have fond memories of thinking of as the "cool cousin". Then all my mysterious disappearances make me the prime suspect for the murders, effectively replacing Xavier in that role and making him more an accessory for Bianca and Wednesday's character arcs than anything. I get locked up and interrogated but it wasn't me, it was still Laurel and Tyler, I was just made complicit against my will without realizing it. Angst ensues before Laurel ultimately rejects her family's ideology that's driven her to such horrible things in order to save me in the end. And then we smooch.

There are also other changes, like making the focus on Wednesday, Enid, Eugene, and Bianca moreso than the love triangle (though it would still come into play, just more subtly), but those are more me treating the canon as a playground to make it more to my tastes than anything directly related to my S/I! The four of them and I would basically become a group of mystery solvers post-Season 1, where I'm their older mentor.

I talk about the parts of this specifically related to my ship in a good amount of detail (or about as good amount of detail as I'll get before I just outright finish the fic I'm planning) in this slideshow here if you're interested in reading more about that!
