It is okay to need pain medication to function with your chronic pain. It is okay. I promise. I know everywhere you turn pain medication is demonized. I know that it is scary to talk about. It is okay to be grateful that you have access to pain medication. Pain meds have greatly improved my quality of life and I wouldn't be able to live my life outside of my bed without them. truly videogames are such a good medium for stories where Something Is Wrong With Time... every game with a saving mechanic has a time travel function, be it acknowledged in universe or not. games can give you the option to experience pieces of story in a non-linear fashion or skip them entirely. time and timing is no longer bound to the confines of a movie's runtime or pages of a book...!

reminder to everyone that trauma IS a valid reason to use aspec labels. "i don't know if i'm aspec or just traumatized—" protip!!! you can be both!!!! the thing about labels is that they're not immutable states of being that you're born as. they're literally just words that we use to describe our lived experiences, and if asexual or aromantic or any related label feel relevant to the way that you experience attraction, whether it's a result of trauma or not, they're there for you to use. having trauma as a cause does not invalidate the fact that someone is experiencing lesser or no attraction. that's still the aspec experience babey. use the label if you want it's there for you <3

I think what really kicked in my whole rants about internet privacy was that time I went to Google and it showed my home city address right there on the bottom, even after I told it not to use my location. I remember a time when that was an unthinkable breach of privacy. Now they were almost flaunting it. It's like "yes, we know where you are, what are you gonna do about it?"

In fact, you log into Google Maps and the first thing it offers you, before anything that could be used as a service like say local events, is a prompt to enter your home and work address. It's insane.

It was always insane, actually, and I know ticking some boxes won't exactly stop all the data collection. But it was almost insulting to me. It really opened my eyes to say "oh, this has gone too far". I've always used Firefox and other free software, but now that everything is turning to shit, I'm accelerating my plans to move away from Google, Microsoft, Meta, and basically everything else.
