Proxies x reader NSFW HCs
alot of these scenes will actually most likely end up in this story im writing lmao, so stick around if you want to see them fleshed out
Let's get the obvious beginner out of the way.
Toby is a tits man, Brian likes ass, and Tim is happy with whatever (he likes tits more he just doesn't want to be rude)
Now, let's start with Toby
Toby is the most submissive bottom you will meet in your life.
Has slipped a bit too far into subspace a few times, and you've had to stop immediately once you realized.
Motherfucker just wants to be dommed and dommed hard. Just tell him what to do, please.
Has the biggest fucking mommy kink (which contributes to his love for tits because the motherfucker will lavish those bitches like no other when given the chance)
Also has the biggest praise kink you will ever see. Has came embarrassingly fast because you called him your good boy.
99 percent of his knowledge of sex comes from porn so,, he's going to have to be retaught most everything.
Has definitely groped your tit too hard on multiple occasions because he thought it was the right thing to do.
Surprisingly good learner, though. Just wants to make you happy.
He's the best one for quickies out of all of them only because he cums extremely fast while still prioritizing you.
(He makes up for how fast he cums by how many times he can do it. Motherfucker will paint you white all over before his body gives out. Plus, his CIPA makes it to where he can't feel the burning in his legs as he fucks you for hours. Has literally kept going until his body gave out because you wanted him to.)
All the boys have very specific thoughts on oral. Toby will give or receive, whichever makes you happier, but when he's allowed to go down on you, it's like you're his last meal.
It's one of the only time's he'll disobey your commands because it doesn't matter if you've already came three times??? He's still eating, lady, shhh.
Tried to dom one (1) time. Not doing that again. Dude started crying half-way through because he thought he was hurting you and your feelings by ordering you around.
You had to pause and take a bath with him afterwards while he calmed down. He spent half the bath blubbering into your neck and apologizing more times than you could count.
Now, Brian is the exact opposite of Toby.
You asked to try and let him be the bottom a single time and he fucked you so hard you couldn't walk the next day.
A little shithead who loves blowjobs. Will give you head, but much prefers you on your knees with him stuffed so far in that he’s tapping the back of your throat and you’re gripping his thighs while he uses you for nothing more than his pleasure in the moment.
Will mix degradation in with praise like he's been doing it his entire life. Has given you whiplash multiple times because of it.
He's so loud, too. Toby is whiny and begs, but this dude is in your ear with low grunts and groans, his voice spilling the foulest words he can think of.
Has you seeing stars while mumbling into your neck shit like "your pretty little pussy's taking me so well - like you were built to be my cocksleeve. Just a cumslut who takes whatever I give you. Look at you, all fucked out of your mind, pretty little baby. Can't wait to paint your fuckin' insides. It's what whores like you deserve."
He's also the best at aftercare, though. You normally have to take care of Toby after, and Tim does jack shit unless needed.
Brian, though, has his dresser packed with shit to take care of you with after. Will bathe you, dress you, tell you little reassurances, make sure you're okay.
He's also best at knowing when to stop. He can sense your hesitation as if he's the one feeling it.
Because of his dirty mouth, he's had to break off sessions early a few times. The biggest was when you started crying halfway through him fucking you missionary, and not the kind of crying he liked (because let's be real, this motherfucker loves to see you cry and beg to cum.)
He had called you a whore a few too many times through the session, and you had taken it a bit too close to heart (it was something that hit a bit harder than needed since you were dating multiple men at once.)
He spent the whole night cuddling you and reassuring you that he didn't really mean it. He loved you, they all did, it was just for the roleplay. "Stop crying, pretty baby, we're okay. I'm not actually mad. Let me see a smile, c'mon, doll."
Also, let me mention that because y'all are so fucking loud, Tim has banged on the door quite a few times trying to get you to calm down.
Tim made the mistake of grumbling to himself during dinner one time in front of you and Brian that 'you're so fucking loud it sounds like you're recording a goddamn porno in there.'
If you hadn't been choking on your food so hard, you might have noticed the sly grin that crossed Brian's face, though it was brought back later when he ended up filming you quite a few times from that night. It wouldn't be posted anywhere - fuck that, you were theirs, and no one else's.
(he did accidentally share a video of you cumming to the group chat all four of you were in on accident while sending cute pictures of the two of you. The mortification of hearing your moans come through the speaker of Toby's phone while he stared at it dumbfounded was enough for you to not talk to Brian for a whole week. It didn't matter if they had seen you like that before, it was still embarrassing!)
(Brian didn't tell you that the other two - Tim especially - had been sent worse videos than that.)
SPEAKING OF TIM.
Let's get started with this man. Tim is the laziest motherfucker known to man but it is nice.
Really, he’s not lazy, he’s just tired a lot, and he doesn’t want to put the effort in the fuck you senseless when you’ve got two others for that.
He prefers sleepy fucking where you’re both half-out-of-it and breathless. He enjoys both of you on your sides with him spooning you, his hips moving just enough to give enough friction for the both of you to cum after a while. You can and will fall alseep right after with him still buried inside of you.
Speaking of, what’s the best way to get y’all’s sexual tension out while still being lazy (besides just making you ride him which he does very often) ? Cockwarming.
He won’t even just do it in bed when it’s the two of you. He’s shimmied his pants down just enough for his cock to slip out and pushed your panties aside (since you were only wearing an oversized shirt and underwear. I mean, what did you think would happen?) and made you sit on him in the middle of the living room while the other two were lounging around, too distracted to notice.
However, if someone does notice (Especially in the beginning because you were horrible at hiding your flushed cheeks and heavy breathing from understimulation) he would not hide it.
“H-hey, y/-y/n, what’s-sss-s with the f-fa-face?” Toby had asked innocently one night while you were all watching TV together. You knew Tim was smirking behind you as he lifted the hem of the big shirt just enough to let Toby know what was going on. Boy blushed so hard and covered his eyes, smacking his face harshly in the process, and Tim and Brian snickered (because of course Brian already knew.)
Cockwarming also means that the second you finally - finally - start fucking, it’s over for the two of you in less than a minute, your fingers clawing at him as you finally get your release after hours. (the longest he’s made the two of you wait was four hours because we’re watching Toby’s favorite movies, we can’t interrupt him, now can we, darlin’?’
He’s also a huge fan of facesitting. Not the biggest fan of receiving blowjobs only because it makes him feel too vulnerable, but he could have you sit on his face for hours and not complain, his hands gripping your ass tight enough to leave bruises as he laved his tongue over your clit over and over.
The only - only - times Tim has fucked you rough was when it wasn’t even really him. You had been half-asleep with your back to him one time as he rutted into you slowly when you suddenly felt yourself flipped so you were ass up with your face being pushed into the mattress, his hips jutting at a speed you didn’t know he could reach.
You didn’t even have to look back to know that Masky - his alter that didn’t show himself too often around you - had taken over.
During getting fucked that time by Masky, you ended up so deep in subspace, trying to please the man you didn’t get too see that often that you let him him rip orgasm after orgasm from you until you couldn’t think straight and you entered a space where all you felt was pleasure, and you couldn’t even see straight.
You were brought out of it by Tim pressing a cold rag to your forehead, whispering sweet nothings to you as he tried to get you to come to, apologizing profusely for letting it happen. You had just grinned and - though your voice was thoroughly fucked up from screaming - told him to let Masky know he could do that again any time. Tim had gotten so flustered that he walked out of the room for a few minutes.
Speaking of alters real quick.
Tim and Brian are the only ones to have them - Masky and Hoody respectfully, of course - and they come out around you very little. Hoody comes out more than Masky though, and you can tell the difference in how quiet Brian will get.
Hoody and Masky have fucked you both separately and together (so have Tim and Brian but we’ll get to that in a second)
Masky loves you ass and prefers to have you in doggystyle over anything while Brian’s love for blowjobs is only intensified in his alter who will have you gagging on him until you almost pass out. He’ll give you a moment to breathe in just a second, just hold on a little longer, okay?
Hoody is almost always silent besides grunts that let him communicate with Masky. This is apparent even when you’re not fucking, and the three of you have to teach yourselves how to decipher the man’s made up language.
Masky is quiet too, but will grumble to himself more than anything, calling you the worst name’s he can think of while he slams into you so hard that you don’t even have to move yourself to give Hoody a proper blowjob, his grip on your hips and force of his thrusts are enough to have you bouncing back and forth quickly.
It’s not like you could really move anyways, not when Masky’s picking you up by your thighs and holding your hips up as he plows into you.
They love spitroasting but have definitely done double penetration even if you complain that you’re not prepped. Who cares? You’re obviously ready for it, look at you already cumming even though they haven’t moved.
Now, as for threesomes and or foursomes
Nine times out of ten, Toby is too embarrassed to do anything in front of the other two. Maybe if you coax him enough, reassure him that nobody will judge, he might join in for the night, but it’s an incredibly rare occurrence. Watching Brian boss you around is enough to make him squirm. You were supposed to be in change, not him? But there you were with your tongue sticking out as you rolled your hips against Tim, ready to fit either of them in your mouth. The other can always take another hole.
Toby not wanting to join doesn’t really both the other two though, and though it’s still not as common to have a threesome compared to one on one, Tim and Brian are always ready to share. Especially when you look so pretty whining into the air as you take both of them at once.
You don’t mind if Brian takes a few photos, right? I mean, just look at you! This is a perfect moment to capture. Ignore the fact that you’re now Tim’s home screen, your pretty tits out in the open as his cock is buried inside of you, Brian’s hand gripping the flesh of your hip. Why wouldn’t he want to see it all the time?
The same applies to them as their alters. Spitroasting is their absolute favorite, though Tim prefers it if you ride him while you slobber all over Brian instead of him having to use his energy to fuck you into oblivion.
They love double penetration as well, but once they tried to fit both of them in your pussy instead of one in your ass and you came so hard that you passed out. It’s brought out on special occasions after a l o t of prep.
really, overall. you have a boy for whatever mood you're in and you're literally never horny because the second you mention it someone is on top of you.

A Change of Scenery - C.W.
Charlie Weasley x fem!reader
Tumblr media
Requested: yes!
omg hi! I just saw the fanart of the oldest Weasley brothers(đŸ„”đŸ„”đŸ„”) and was hoping you could do a Charlie x reader thing? Maybe the reader is a healer at the sanctuary and Charlie doesn't mind getting hurt because he gets to see her but she literally has no idea he adores her till he spells it out. With promt 42 of your list maybe? Totally cool if you want to leave it out 😁 love you and your work! -🍄
“what the hell were you thinking?”
Word count: 3.1k
Summary: moving to romania for your absolute dream job, you did not expect to meet a cheeky, flirty redhead along the way.
Warnings: mentions of injuries, food, & drinks. charlie is a dragon tamer, reader is a healer, of course he’s going to end up with a few cuts and bruises.
A/N: god i love charlie weasley with all of my heart. that is all.
prompt is in bold
-
Being connected to and living somewhere very in tune with the earth had always been a dream of yours. It just so happened that your new job had you transferred to the perfect place: Romania.
Sure, it was quite far from England and had quite a different culture, but the beauty of the mountains and the picturesque scenery made up for it. The fact that you were also working in one of the best medical wings in the country, on a dragon reserve on top of that, was basically your dream come true.
“Alright, and this right here is your station,” announced the head healer, who insisted you call him Gerry, gesturing to a decently sized office space. “You can decorate it anyway you like, as long as it’s appropriate. Most of the folks around here aren’t locals either, so we’ve got loads of photos up and lots of owls coming in and out everyday.”
“It’s perfect,” you grinned.
Gerry left you alone to get settled, and you didn’t want to admit it to anyone, but the first thing you did once he was out of earshot was to squeal excitedly and do a little happy dance.
It was just all too exciting, really. Dream job, dream location, dream view even. After your burst of excitement, you spent a bit of time just staring out of the window, taking in everything. In the distance, you could even see the silhouette of a dragon peeking over the canopy of trees. The fact that this was going to be a regular occurrence just spurred even more delight in your heart.
Later in the day, after most of the introductions were made and tours were finished, you could be found familiarizing yourself with the medical wing of the sanctuary.
“C’mon Gerry, I’m completely fine!” you heard a gruff voice complain. It was coming from the hallway outside, but the accompanying footsteps sounded as if they were on the way to the wing.
“You know it’s protocol, Weasley,” a very amused Gerry replied as they rounded the corner.
Beside your boss was one of the most gorgeous men you had ever laid eyes on. With wind ruffled hair the color of sunsets and lightly tanned skin, you almost didn’t notice the small, almost inconspicuous limp he was sporting. It also took you a few seconds to realize that he was probably one of the dragon tamers of the reserve, the first one you were going to meet and treat, it seemed.
“Ah, Healer L/N, perfect!” Gerry called out to you, “This is Charlie Weasley, one of our on-site dragon tamers.”
“Nice to meet you,” he smiled, holding out his hand for you to shake.
“You too,” you said in reply, trying not to think about how warm and calloused his hand was in yours.
“His leg got swiped by the tail of a Chinese Fireball,” Gerry explained as he motioned to the leg that Charlie wasn’t putting much of his weight on.
You could see the redhead roll his eyes, “Honestly, I’ll be fine! This has happened more times than you know.”
Despite his best efforts, both you and Gerry managed to get Charlie to take a seat on one of the beds that lined the wall. With a sigh, he rolled up his trousers just enough for you to see the area of the wound.
“Lucky for you, treating this doesn’t take much time,” you smiled. Swiftly, you took your wand out and muttered the correct incantation, “There. Good as new!”
“If I get to be under the care of Ms. L/N here, I wouldn’t mind getting injured more often,” he flirted, sending you a cheeky wink.
Gerry just guffawed a loud belly laugh, patting Charlie on the shoulder fondly, “Don’t you go running off with one of my best healers now, Weasley. We just got her!”
“Don’t worry, Gerry,” you smiled, “I think this one’s too injury-prone to run anywhere.”
–
As the last work day of your first week at the reserve was coming to an end, you were surprised to see Charlie Weasley knocking on the open door to your office.
“Hey,” you said, sending him a small smile.
“Hey,” he parroted, stepping inside.
“Anything I can help you with?” you asked over your shoulder while putting away the last of your files and slipping out of your healer robes, “You’re not injured again are you?”
Behind you, Charlie gulped as he saw the little sundress you wore underneath. His head spun at the sight of your exposed legs and he nearly forgot what he was about to say.
“Nah I’ve got a better track record than that, thankfully,” he chuckled. Doing his best to keep the calm facade he had going on, he leant against the doorframe as he asked, “Got any plans tonight? I was wondering if you’d fancy getting a bite to eat.”
You were caught off guard by how nonchalant and straightforward his invitation was.
“Is this your way of asking me on a date?” you asked, finally turning around to face him once again.
He raised an eyebrow, “Do you want it to be? Because I just wanted to be a nice person and show you around Romania, but if you’re looking for a date
”
“Oh shut it, Weasley,” you groaned, “The tab is on you tonight, then.”
Charlie sent you a grin as you strode out of your office. Despite your faux-annoyance, you were happy to have someone show you around. Being a healer was your dream job, but it did have some setbacks. Obviously, you were needed at the medical wing of the reserve for the majority of the week and that didn’t give you much time to familiarize yourself with the town and the people.
Because of how remote the reserve was, most staff and employees lived on site. There was a designated area for the many different cabins and living quarters. To give you more of a tour of the little Romanian town nearest the reserve, Charlie offered to side-along apparate you.
You could feel heat creep up your neck and spread along your cheeks as you gripped firmly on to his muscular arm.
The sun was just about to set and cast gorgeous hues of orange and pink across the sky as the two of you landed just outside the town. Charlie led you along, showing you where the most important areas were; you saw the town square, the little street bazaars, and the most popular eating places.
By the time the pair of you got to one of his favorite restaurants, a quaint little place in one of the sidestreets, your cheeks were sore from laughing too much. After the initial awkwardness as you tried to navigate topics that interested the both of you, you found yourselves chatting away animatedly.
“Yeah, Fred and George were an absolute nightmare when they were little,” he chuckled, fondly recalling the many times he and his older brother Bill were left to babysit their younger siblings, “But they’re great. They’ve got a shop in Diagon Alley now, selling prank products of all things. It’s wild.”
“Your family sounds absolutely lovely,” you said. It warmed your heart seeing how his eyes lit up talking about them. “It must be so hard being so far away from everyone.”
He nodded slightly before taking a sip of his drink, “Definitely. My first year here was such a big transition. I’m lucky I get to go home every so often.”
There was a lull in the conversation as you dug into your food, but it was far from the awkward silence you were expecting.
Maybe working in Romania wasn’t going to be so bad after all.
–
“Why is it that when you get hurt, I’m always the healer on call?” you sighed playfully as Charlie walked through the door of the medical wing.
It was the fourth week in a row he had to come and get something patched up. They weren’t major injuries, thankfully, but you had come to learn that the dragon tamers were required to know how to perform the basic healing spells. The things Charlie would come in for were almost always resolved with a quick episkey.
“You know me,” he joked, taking a seat on one of the empty beds, “Always so accident prone.”
“Sure.” You rolled your eyes.
Still, with your wand in hand, you gestured for him to show you where the injury was.
“I’ve got two things today,” he began. You raised your eyebrows in response. “This is the first.”
Charlie quickly rolled the sleeve of his top, his toned arm flexing at the movement. In all the time you had worked at the reserve, which wasn’t that long at all, you still hadn’t gotten used to how fit he was. A quick intake of breath had you re-centering and focusing on the task at hand. There was a small burn on his forearm, not enough to cause too much concern.
You cast the charm quickly so as not to be distracted further, “There, all done.”
“There’s still one more place that’s hurt Y/N.”
By the way Charlie spoke, you knew he was up to something. Inwardly you sighed, “Alright, let’s get to it then.”
Your heart seemed to stop as he began to unbutton the first few buttons of his top.
“What’re you doing, Weasley?” you asked, trying your hardest to keep your composure as you got a peek of his very toned chest.
With a dramatic sigh, Charlie leant back and pointed to an area above his chest, “My heart hurts, Y/N.”
For a moment you just stared at him, looking absolutely ridiculous in the position he chose to don, eyes blinking owlishly. Truthfully, you didn’t know whether to laugh or to send the strongest stinging hex in his direction.
“Charlie Weasley, you thank Merlin and Morgana right now that I’m not hexing your balls off,” you said, rolling your eyes.
“I’m being serious, Y/N!” he continued, “I don’t know if I’ll survive this!”
“Pity, does that mean I’m losing my ticket to free weekly meals?” she joked, already turning on her heel to get back to what she had been doing before he entered the wing.
There were sounds of shuffling as if Charlie had gotten back up on his feet again and then, “Definitely not! I’m banking on those meals, one of these days you’re going to be begging me for an actual date. You’ll see.”
“Keep dreaming, Weasley.”
You sent the redheaded dragon tamer a sarcastic smile, but he just sent you a flirty wink in reply.
–
“Code white. Need extra hands in the medical wing ASAP.”
The shimmering white bloodhound soon dissolved into nothing as it delivered its message to you, early one morning. You had just gotten to work, not even in your healer's robes yet, when Gerry’s patronus appeared.
As you rushed to the medical wing, another patronus made an appearance and rattled off what had happened and who was hurt. Your heart dropped the moment you heard who you were going to be treating.
“Oh Merlin,” you whispered to yourself the moment you saw the state Charlie was in, “What did you get yourself into?”
In all the time you had been working at the reserve and as a healer in general, it was not unusual for you to treat severe injuries. In fact, you liked to think that when you were faced with someone’s life or quality of life in your hands, you worked even harder and smarter. However, seeing Charlie more battered and bruised than you had ever seen him made your heart pound loudly in your chest.
“Healer L/N, you’re right on time,” Gerry spoke to you clearly, rapidly explaining the situation and what you needed to do.
In a flash, you had your wand out and were muttering all the healing spells that came to mind alongside your head healer. You didn’t notice how you were holding your breath and clenching your wandless hand until you let out a sigh of relief when Charlie began to stir.
“He’s stable,” Gerry announced and released a breath.
You felt a soft pat on your shoulder as he left you to deal with the patient, deeming it alright for him to step out and get back to his other responsibilities. Carefully, you walked towards the redhead whose eyes were fluttering open.
“What the hell were you thinking, Weasley?” you murmured softly, your wand sweeping over him one last time to check is vitals. A soft hand reached out to push the stray strands of hair that had fallen in front of his face and you felt him lean into your touch.
“Y/N?” Charlie mumbled, his eyes still half-closed.
“I’m right here,” you said in reply.
“What happened?” he asked, trying to prop himself up but groaning in pain.
“What happened,” you began, going to help him get to the seated position he wanted to be in. He smiled up at you and you could barely remember what you were trying to say. With a small shake of your head and clearing of your throat you continued, “What happened was that you were being an absolute idiot who absolutely did not call for backup when a nesting mother was going on a rampage.”
Despite his obvious discomfort, Charlie had the audacity to chuckle slightly, “Sounds about right.”
“Don’t you dare do that to me again, Weasley,” you admonished, pulling back and shooting him the dirtiest stare you could muster. “You nearly gave me a heart attack. When I got Gerry’s patronus, all I could think about was–”
As if an electric jolt shocked you, you cut yourself off before anything else escaped your lips.
“Was what, Y/N?” he asked softly.
His eyes were shining with something you couldn’t quite name, but the sincerity in his face gave you pause.
You shook your head, “It’s nothing. Don’t worry about it.”
Instead of continuing to reprimand him for his foolishness, you busied yourself making sure he was comfortable and that everything was alright. The potions he needed to take later in the day and the different salves to be applied to his skin were placed on the bedside table. Pillows were summoned, fluffed, and placed behind him.
As you shuffled around the room, purposely ignoring the redhead, his eyes were trained on you.
The moment his eyes opened and he felt your hand brush gently across his face, he thought he had to have been dreaming. If it weren’t for the ache in his muscles and the sting of his burns, he would’ve believed that he was in some alternate reality wherein he woke up next to you every morning.
He was tired of waiting for his fantasies to come true, he decided.
“Y/N.”
The way he said your name sent shivers down your spine. Your whole body froze for a microsecond before you turned to face him.
“Yeah, Charlie?”
“Look at me please,” he begged.
With a deep breath, your eyes locked with his and you were almost blown away with the look on his face.
Sincerity pooled in his eyes as they scanned your face, trying to see if your own expression gave anything away. You felt like a deer caught in the headlights, unable to move or look away from him.
“Tell me what you were thinking,” he whispered gently.
It was now or never.
“All I could think about was how,” you gulped, taking a steadying breath, “How you could’ve died or gotten so hurt, when I hadn’t even had the chance to tell you how I felt about you.”
You could hear Charlie’s sharp intake of breath and you had to look away, unable to face the rejection you were ultimately going to hear.
“Y/N–”
“And, and I know that you don’t feel the same–”
“Y/N–”
“But, just seeing you lying there–”
“Y/N!”
Charlie’s voice rang through the whole wing, a sharp contrast to the otherwise silent space. You sucked in a deep breath, surprised.
“Y/N you have to know I’m absolutely mad for you,” he said clearly.
You blinked furiously at him.
“You-I, what?”
Charlie tried to reposition himself so that he could face you properly, but you could see that he was still in a bit of pain. Instead of letting him maneuver himself uncomfortably, you placed a soft hand on his shoulder before taking a seat by his legs.
Immediately, he went to take your hand in his. “I think you’re absolutely breathtaking, and talented, and passionate. I just haven’t had the balls to ask you out on a real date.”
“Then what are you waiting for, Weasley?” You offered him a small smile, glancing back down at your intertwined hands.
The smile he sent you left you breathless.
–
“You ready to go?” Charlie asked, leaning against the doorframe with his legs crossed just like when he had visited your office that first week.
A small grin inched its way on to your face at the sight of your boyfriend. His hair was just a tad bit windswept, adding to the rugged look he insisted he could pull off (and he definitely did, you just didn’t like feeding his ego too much).
“Just about,” you smiled. “Let me get out of these stuffy robes first.”
And, just like the first time he had knocked on the door to your office, you turned to shrug off your uniform and hang it up in one of the hooks beside your desk. Instead of keeping his thoughts to himself, Charlie grinned widely and whistled at the sight of you in your dress.
Just as you were about to chide him for being inappropriate, strong arms wrapped around your waist and pulled you backwards. A small ‘oof’ escaped your lips as your back made contact with Charlie’s strong chest.
“Charlie!” you slapped his arm lightly, “C’mon, I’m still at work!”
“What so I can’t show my girlfriend some appreciation for being absolutely drop dead gorgeous?” he mumbled, pressing soft kisses on the joint where your neck met your shoulders.
You rolled your eyes, “You know I love a good compliment. I would just rather you do it outside my place of work.”
With a chuckle, Charlie released his grip on your waist. “Alright, alright.”
“Just for that, the tab’s on you tonight, Weasley.”
“Ah so the usual, love?”
“Of course.”
Charlie held his hand out for you to take, and unlike the first time he took you out, you allowed yourself to blush, take his calloused hand in yours, and press a soft kiss on his lips.

“Morning, baby.”
You smiled when your Mum came up behind you and softly kissed your head.
“Morning, Mum. I made you some breakfast.”
You said, pouring coffee into the seasoned profiler’s ‘No.1 Mom’ mug that you’d gotten for her several years ago.
You’d gifted it to her on the first Mother’s Day you had with her after she adopted you. And she used it that morning and every morning since.
“God, what’d I do to deserve a daughter like you?”
JJ said proudly as she dug into her breakfast, happily munching on a piece of toast as she looked through her case file. Whatever dark, horrific crime she and her team were investigating simplified down to a few pages in that brown file.
“Busy day?” You asked, leaning against the kitchen counter, staring across at her.
“You have no idea. I’ve been up for a few hours trying to compile some notes on this case we’re working. Young, relatively low-risk, women are being raped in alleyways and there are no witnesses.”
She explained as she continued to eat whilst scribbling shorthand notes on a notepad.
“Any ideas on who you’re looking for yet?”
She hummed in answer. Swallowing her food, she replied, “Yeah, I think we have a preliminary profile that we want to release to the public later today.”
Pouring the rest of her coffee into a travel cup, she put her files in her bag and placed it on the counter you were resting against.
“You got class today?”
You were studying criminology, wanting to follow in your mother’s footsteps and become a profiler.
Nodding, you answered, “Yeah, then some of my friends and I are gonna head to the mall. And yes, I’ll message you constantly, so you know.”
You added when your mother opened her mouth to presumably ask that very question.
“Thanks, sweetie. Whoever our unsub is, he’s targeting women your age and considering he’s probably here right now, I need to know you’re safe.”
“I know, Mum. Now go, you don’t want to be late for work. Hotch only lets you be late once, you know.” You smirked.
“Yes, I know. Bye, y/n. I love you.” Your mother mirrored your expression and kissed your cheek.
“I love you too.” You replied, handing your Mum her keys and you watched her leave as the white door closed gently behind her.
***
“Maybe just call him out on it and see what he says?”
You suggested to your friend, Kerri, after she explained her boyfriend troubles to you and your other friend, Ally.
“I mean, the worst that could happen is-”
You stopped mid-sentence when you heard a muffled scream. Furrowing your brows, you walked closer to where the sound came from; an alleyway behind an old warehouse.
Remembering your mother’s earlier profile, you whispered to your friends, “Stay behind me.”
“Y/N, what is it?”
“Not sure.”
Inching around the corner, you saw two figures behind a dumpster. The smaller figure, who appeared to be a blonde female, was struggling against the male standing over her.
“Hey! Get away from her!”
Shouting, you ran up to the two and watched as the man’s head whipped around to face you before he darted off, jumping over a fence.
Approaching the woman, you saw she was half naked and had blood seeping from her nose.
“Oh god. Call 911, she’s been assaulted.” You said quickly to your friends who stood behind you, shocked at what they had just witnessed.
Hearing Kerri following your instructions, you took off the jacket you were wearing and wrapped it around the exposed girl.
“H-He tried to r-r-”
Unable to form the words, the girl started to sob at her ordeal.
“I know. It’s okay, honey. What’s your name?” You asked, speaking quietly to try to calm her as if she was a spooked animal.
“A-Annie.” She choked out as she tugged your jacket closer around her.
“Annie, you’re safe now. He can’t hurt you.”
The former began to sob harder and fell against your chest. Wrapping one arm around her, you used the other to take out your phone to call your Mum.
“Shh, it’s okay, Annie. You’re okay.” You said, soothing the distraught girl who was currently crying her heart out against you.
“Hey, y/n, what’s up?”
After quickly explaining what had just transpired, JJ told you and your friends to remain where you were since you were all witnesses and that she’d be there soon.
“You did good, babygirl.”
Morgan said, handing you a cup of coffee.
You were currently sitting at your mother’s desk at the BAU, having already given your statement to both local police and your Mum’s team at the crime scene. Emily and Spencer had driven your friends home whilst you came with your Mum to her work - she refused to leave you alone, even though you’d argued that it was still daylight and you’d be fine.
You didn’t reply, deciding to sip the hot drink, wincing when it burned your tongue.
“He’s right, y/n. Most people probably wouldn’t have heard anything.”
You glanced up at your Mum who stood above you, her hand resting on your shoulder.
“What will happen now? To the unsub, I mean. I interrupted him so he never managed to rape Annie.”
“He’ll probably try to hurt someone else.”
You turned to face Hotch as he approached you and the rest of his team.
“I just got off the phone with the hospital. They’ve discharged Annie into the care of her parents. She wanted me to tell you ‘thank you’.”
“I’m glad she’s okay. Physically anyways. So, you think he’ll get sloppy? Since he never got to...finish, he’s probably going to be antsy right? He might make a mistake?” You asked, hopeful that your Mum would catch him soon.
“More than likely. He’s definitely going to be angry, especially since we’ve just released the profile along with the sketch you helped us with, y/n.ïżœïżœïżœ Hotch answered, a gleam of pride in his eyes.
“Anything I could do to help,” you replied.
Standing up, you faced your Mum, “I think I’m going to go home. I’m kind of exhausted.”
“I’ll drive you h-”
“It’s okay,” you interrupted your Mum, “you’re busy here and you’ve got a lot of work to do. Besides, it’s only mid-afternoon so I’ll be fine. I-I just need some air.” You said, your voice faltering when you felt tears forming.
Clearing your throat, you held back your emotions and kissed your Mum on her cheek, “I’ll message you when I get home.”
“Okay, baby. I’m proud of you.”
The tall blonde hugged you close to her which you returned with as much ferocity, her hands stroking your hair as she cradled your head against her.
Bidding your goodbyes to the rest of the team, you left the federal building.
“JJ, you okay?” Morgan asked.
JJ had heard the emotion in your voice and though she was proud to have seen you comforting the most recent victim, it had hurt her heart to see what came after the ambulance drove away with an injured Annie in the back.
Once you’d given your statement and described the unsub to her and her team, she’d followed you to her old vacant office from her media liason days where you’d broken down.
She had watched you hold yourself together by a thread all throughout the questioning but had known that the adrenaline high would crash soon. And you quite literally did crash. In her arms, the moment she had closed the door behind her.
She had fought back her own tears as she gathered you into her arms, soothing you as you did earlier with Annie.
She’d tried as hard as she could to keep you away from her world.
She didn’t want you to be exposed to any more darkness than you’d already experienced when you were younger, before you’d met her.
“JJ?”
The blonde blinked, breaking away from her thoughts to stare back at the rest of the team.
“She did good, JJ.” Morgan repeated as JJ simply nodded, not knowing what to say.
***
Taking out your phone, you sent a message to your group chat with Kerri and Ally, wanting to make sure they were okay.
After receiving replies from the both of them confirming that they were fine and just a bit shaken up, you placed your phone back in your pocket.
Sighing, you continued walking down the relatively empty street; the majority of people either at work or school, unaware of what had happened just a few hours earlier.
You thought about Annie and later crying in your Mum’s arms. You didn’t even know why you did. Spencer probably would have given you some fact about adrenaline crashes but you shook your head, feeling self-conscious.
There was no need for you to break down like that.
All it achieved was your Mum being worried about you which was the last thing you wanted because it meant she’d be distracted from doing her job. Catching this asshole.
Hands in your pockets, you felt the bright sun shine down on your face.
Stopping for a brief moment, you glanced up at the sky, and allowed yourself to breathe.
As you were about to carry on walking, you felt a harsh grip on your arm pull you into an abandoned parking lot.
You thrashed against the strong hold, the self-defence skills your Mum taught you kicking in.
Stomping on the large figure’s foot, you smirked at the grunt of pain that fell from his lips. Then you elbowed them in their stomach and threw your head back into theirs. Hearing more shouts of pain, you started to run before you were roughly pushed against a brick wall.
Your breaths came out in heavy pants and your eyes widened as you stared into familiar eyes.
It was the unsub.
He held himself tight against you, pulling a switchblade from his pocket and into your view. Your eyes flickered from the sharp blade to his eyes. They were filled with fury as blood dripped from his nose - from when you’d head butted him.
“Good. So you recognise me.” His voice was hoarse, as if he’d swallowed a bunch of nails.
“What do you want?” You spat out, refusing to show any indication of fear to him.
“You ruined the other girl for me. But you seem like a challenge. I like that.”
Pressing the knife against your neck, he used his free hand to undo his belt.
You barely controlled the terror that threatened to rise through your body. Instead, you tried to focus on the pressure of his weapon, waiting for a slight reprieve where you could make your move to escape.
That moment came when he unzipped his trousers.
The pressure lightened for a few seconds which was all you needed.
Grabbing his wrist, you twisted the knife away from you and kneed him in the groin. Pushing him away, you stumbled, trying to escape.
But he was quick on his feet.
He swiftly picked up the knife that had fallen to the floor and thrust it into your stomach.
You groaned, the pain unlike anything you had ever experienced before. Your hand instinctively went to your stomach as blood started to coat your clothing.
You slumped down the wall as the unsub crouched down, sneering at you, “Bitch.”
Tapping the ground behind you, you felt a piece of broken glass in your fingers. Gripping it tightly, you gathered all your strength and plunged it into his neck.
He yelled out, his hand going to the glass that was still in his flesh.
Recognising what he was about to do, you clambered to your feet and watched as he pulled the shard, of what appeared to be from a broken beer bottle, out of his skin. Blood splatted all over the wall that you had been against, just moments before.
Blood continued to seep out from your wound.
You took off your jacket - the one you had previously wrapped around Annie - and pressed it against your skin. You groaned at the white hot pain that seared through your skin.
Knowing you were only down the street from the Quantico building, you took out your phone and called your Mum as you walked, as well as you could in your condition, back to the federal building.
“You home already?”
“M-Mum, c-come outside. I-I need you.” You choked out, trying to steady your breathing.
“Y/N? Are you okay?”
You could hear her shouting to the rest of her team before she continued to talk into the phone.
You made it to the entrance of the federal building but you were too overcome with exhaustion and you felt yourself drop to the floor.
You could hear shouts from the people around you as they watched blood pool around you.
“Oh my god. Y/N!”
You heard your Mum yell as she fell to your side, pressing her hands heavily against your wound.
You barely heard as Hotch called 911, stating his name and rank and urged for an ambulance to be sent immediately.
You struggled to keep your eyes open as you looked up at your Mum.
“Come on, baby. Stay awake for me.” JJ begged, tears carelessly running down her face.
“It hurts, Mum.”
“I know, baby. I know. But you’re strong. Stay with me. How’d this happen?”
JJ knew the only way to keep you awake was to continue talking so your brain could still remain active.
“H-He’s dead. He attacked me. I-In a car park. Down there.”
You weakly raised your hand and pointed towards the direction you had come from.
“Good girl. Just stay with me. You’re going to be okay. Y/N? Y/N!”
JJ screamed when she watched your eyes flutter closed as you lost consciousness.
***
“Woah, y/n. It’s just me.”
JJ said quickly when you jumped as she came up behind you to kiss your head.
It had been a few weeks since you’d been stabbed.
You’d woken up in a hospital, hooked up to all sorts of machines monitoring your heart rate. Your eyes had fallen on your mother who, once she saw you were awake, started to cry and hug you close to her. That then made you start crying and the two of you were just a pile of tears as you clung to each other.
After the tears had stopped and the doctors had checked up on you, JJ had told you that they’d found the unsub in a parking lot a few blocks from the BAU.
A couple of days after, you’d been discharged from the hospital. Your mother had stayed by your side up until this week when you had urged her to go back to work.
That had led you to now. She’d just arrived home from work and you hated that you were still on edge after your attack, despite your Mum telling you it was normal.
“I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay, honey.” JJ said softly as she came to sit beside you on the sofa.
You both sat in silence for a few moments before you spoke, your voice coming out in a whisper.
“I’m scared, Mum.”
You felt her eyes on you as she spoke, “Scared? He’s dead, y/n. He can’t hurt you.”
“I know, I just-In that moment when I fought him, I was so defenceless. And I’m scared of what will happen the next time I can’t defend myself.”
You continued, tears welling in your eyes as you stared ahead, unable to face your mother.
“Y/N,” JJ gently turned your face so she could look into your eyes.
“Am I defenceless?”
You blinked, having not expected that question. “What? No.”
“Exactly. I’m not. But I felt like it after I was kidnapped and tortured a few years ago. It’s normal to feel like that, y/n. But it’ll pass. I can promise you that.”
“It’s like I can feel him stabbing me over and over again.” You choked out, failing to force your tears back down.
“Oh, baby.”
JJ gently pulled you to her as she wrapped her arms around your body. She cradled your head against her chest as you clung to her arms, now sobbing.
“I got you, y/n. You’re safe. I got you.” She repeated, soothing you as you continued to cry.
Still hugging you against her, she kissed your head,
“As long as you have me, you’ll never be defenceless.”

It’s the night of Tony’s party and you are in your room getting ready. You exit the bathroom after a shower to see a gift box on your bed. It’s wrapped in a blue bow and you know it can only be from two certain men. The note reads “To the most beautiful woman in any galaxy, please wear this tonight. We love you.” Inside you find a beautiful dress. It’s blue and has a style reminiscent of the 40s. You do yourself up and put on the dress. A knock on the door has you grinning as you answer it.
“Wow. You look beautiful.” Steve says, returning your grin.
“Beautiful doesn’t even begin to cover it.” Bucky charms.
“It’s a good start,” you kiss each of them. “I love the dress. Thank you.”
“It looks great on you, doll.”
The party tonight was one of Tony’s penthouse parties at the tower. Only family, partners, and close friends were invited. After arriving, the three of you made rounds greeting everyone. You’re excited when you finally make it to Sam.
“Hey Sam! Wanna introduce the beauty on your arm?” you grin widely.
“Of course,” Sam puffs out his chest as he motions to her, “This is my girlfriend, Kaziah.” He gives her each of your names and you spend twenty minutes or so chatting with all of them. Kaziah is sweet and you enjoy meeting her immensely. You are distracted a few minutes later when Loki strolls in wearing an all black suit.
“Well, don’t you look like a million bucks!” you hug his neck as he chuckles.
“You like it?” Loki preens.
“Very much. You look great. Are you still planning to go back to Asgard tomorrow?”
“Yes. And before you ask, yes, I’m going to tell her.”
“Yay. I look forward to your return and hearing how it went. Can I introduce you around a bit?”
“Lead the way.” Loki offers his arm.
You guide him to different groups introducing him, smoothing any ruffled feathers, and making him feel comfortable in the setting. Loki relaxed as the evening passed. You enjoyed yourself, spending most of your time with Steve and Bucky, dancing, eating, drinking, and having fun with your friends and people you know and trust. It was fun.
A couple of hours in, you notice Kaziah sitting by herself on one of the couches. Sam is in a group nearby with Rhodey and a few others cutting up. You grab an extra glass of champagne and sit beside her, holding out the drink to her, “Are you enjoying yourself?”
“Yeah, there is always that little bit of awkwardness when you don’t know many people.” Kaziah flashes a nervous smile.
“I understand,” you laugh, “I was basically dropped on the team with no warning, having never met any of them.”
“Wow. But it worked out? You’re dating Bucky and Steve?” She asks.
“It worked out better than I ever hoped. And, yes, we are in a relationship together. We know it’s not conventional, but we’re very happy.”
“I saw you with Loki earlier. Are you with him also?” Kaziah asks carefully.
“No. Loki is a good friend and we train together. He’s a really good guy once you get to know him.” You happen to catch his eye across the room and he smiles at you. That’s when you feel the ice pick to your head and immediately open your mind to him.
“You’re needed in the rooftop garden, darling.” Loki’s voice drifts into your mind.
“What? Why?” You asked confused.
“I don’t know. I was just asked to relay the message quietly.” Loki’s chuckle echoes through your head and you grin.
“What was that? It looked like you were having a conversation.” Kaziah asks curiously.
“Oh, nothing,” you answer evasively, “Will you excuse me?”
“Uh, of course.” Kaziah looks confused.
“It was nice talking to you.”
“You, too.”
You head to the elevator while looking for Steve and Bucky but, not finding them, you shrug and hit the button for the rooftop. Suspicion and curiosity curl in your stomach as the elevator goes up. When the doors open, you notice a trail of petals leading into the garden. You smile as you follow it.
--
Steve and Bucky had spent most of the day of Tony’s party shopping for you. They found the perfect dress to give you fairly quickly but finding the perfect engagement ring had proven nearly impossible. They didn’t know what they were looking for exactly but everything they were shown just wasn’t the one. It had to be perfect. As they visited the sixth jewelry store, they knew time was running out. The proprietor showed them several options but then, recognizing both men, he smiled and kindly suggested they check the antique store next door. He told them his brother was the owner and he kept a beautiful selection of estate jewelry.
Steve and Bucky weren’t sure what he meant by estate jewelry but since they weren’t having any luck at traditional jewelry stores they decided to give it a try. The owner greeted them immediately and guided them to the jewelry case while offering to show them anything they’d like to see.
“Buck.” Steve’s eyes go wide as a ring catches his attention.
“That one? It’s not very traditional.” Bucky asks.
“Neither are we.” Steve chuckles.
“You’re right about that. And the ring. It’s perfect,” he turns to the owner, “Can we see that one?”
“Of course. It’s one of a kind. I’ve never seen another like it. It came from a family in upstate New York. I thought it was a lovely piece.” He hands over the ring nestled in a small heart shaped box.
“This is it.” Steve says.
“It’s perfect,” Bucky agrees.
They paid for the ring and exit wearing grins. Tony had agreed to help them with the proposal and was having the rooftop garden turned into a paradise. Now they just had to get you to the roof and the rest would fall into place.
--
The trail of petals leads you into the center of the rooftop garden where your men stand with smiles. Bucky and Steve are both handsome in their suits. A small table of desserts and champagne are off to one side. The garden is filled with lights and candles. There are blooming flowers everywhere and you have no idea what is happening.
“What is all this?” you ask, all smiles.
“We wanted tonight to be special.” Bucky says.
“It’s beautiful,” you smile but tremble as nerves set in. What could this be about?
“Doll, we love you. You’re the love of our lives and this relationship is everything we ever wanted. So, we have something we want to ask you.” Steve says. He and Bucky take a knee in tandem and each take one of your hands.
“Will you marry us?” Bucky asks, looking up at you with a grin but you see the fear behind his eyes. You look at Steve and recognize the same expression on him.
“M-marry? You want to, to ,to get married? To me?” you stammer.
“Yes.” They say in perfect unison.
They hold up a ring and you stare at it mouth agape. A star sapphire set in a halo of diamonds. The ring was obviously a vintage piece and it was the most beautiful piece of jewelry you’d ever seen.
Tumblr media
“You’re serious?” you breathe as tears flood your eyes.
“Yes.” Bucky says.
“Absolutely. Please marry us. We love you so much.” Steve says.
“Yes! Yes, of course I’ll marry you! Yes! I love you both. So much.” You exclaim as the men surge to their feet and swing you around. When your feet touch the ground again, Bucky takes the ring out of the box and places it on your finger.
“It’s a star sapphire since both mine and Bucky’s symbol is a star.” Steve explains.
“Blue because honesty always comes first in our relationship.” Bucky says.
“Surrounded by diamonds because our love will always surround you.” Steve continues.
“And antique because you’re marrying two old men.” Bucky chuckles.
You laugh but stare at the ring that they chose with admiration, “It’s perfect. Thank you.”
“Let’s toast to our engagement.” Bucky goes to open the bottle of champagne. The three of you share champagne, strawberries, and cake as they tell you about how they decided to ask you and their day of shopping to find the perfect ring.
You stare at it saying, “I never thought I’d get married again. I just assumed in this relationship we’d just be together.”
“You are okay with getting married, right?” Steve asks.
“Yes! I want to marry both of you. I guess it will be more of a commitment ceremony since we can’t legally get married,” you explain.
“Actually, I’ve been thinking about it and I think you and Steve should get married legally and we can have a commitment ceremony for the three of us. There would be a lot of protection for you in being Mrs. Rogers.” Bucky states.
“I’m
I won’t be changing my name. I never did with Charlie.”
“You don’t have to. Bucky, you hadn’t said anything about this before. Are you sure?” Steve asks.
“Yes. It just makes sense. If you’re okay with it, doll.” Bucky says.
“I get it from a legal standpoint but no matter what the THREE of us will be married,” you smile.
Steve nods, “While we’re on our honeymoon, Tony is going to renovate our rooms into an apartment. We just have to pick a date. We-”
“We can go over all the details later,” you interrupt Steve. “Right now, I’d like to go to our room and celebrate with less clothing on.”
“I love the way you think,” Bucky says as he helps you to stand and kisses you.
Steve grabs the bottle of champagne and bowl of strawberries, “I’m sure we’ll work up an appetite.” He winks and kisses you.
You can’t keep your hands off each other in the elevator and find yourself sandwiched between the two men with their lips wandering over every expanse of exposed skin. You stumble into the guest room the three of you are staying in and gasp. The room is full of flowers, a small table covered in candles and food, another bottle of champagne, three fluffy robes with your names embroidered on them and matching slippers, a wedding planning book, and a note of congratulations from Tony and Pepper.
“This is so sweet! They are so thoughtful.” you exclaim.
“They definitely know we plan to work up an appetite.” Bucky chuckles.
“We should get to it. Unzip me?” you whisper.
“My pleasure.” Bucky complies and gently guides the dress down for you to step out of it. You’re wearing a beautiful lingerie set complete with garter and heels and both men devour you with their eyes. You sit on the end of the bed, lean back on your arms and cross your legs while eyeing the two.
“Naked. Now,” you say playfully.
“Yes, ma’am,” Bucky grins as they shuck their clothing quickly. When both stand before you gloriously naked you look them up and down, licking your lips. You go to them and put a hand on each of their chests before lowering yourself to your knees. You stroke both of their cocks and take turns swirling your tongue around each of their heads.
“You’re both so good to me. I love you so much. I love fucking both of you.” You make comments each time you switch between them and they’re both looking at you with a feral expression as you praise and tease them.
“Fuck, doll.” Bucky says as he grabs you and pulls you to your feet, “Get up here.” His mouth claims yours and Steve is behind you in an instant, removing your bra, cupping your breasts and kissing your shoulders. You feel his hard length pressed to your ass and Bucky’s pressed to your mound. You moan loudly as their hands and mouths wander over you, divesting you of your lingerie..
“I
I want to try something,” you moan.
“Anything, sweetheart. What do you want?” Steve asks with his lips against your neck.
“I want you both inside me. Both inside me at the same time.” You say breathlessly.
“You mean, both of us inside your pussy, doll?” Bucky clarifies.
“Please. Want to feel all of us together.” You whimper.
“If it’s too much, you have to tell us, doll. Don’t let us hurt you.” Steve says as he picks you up and carries you to the bed. “Promise?”
“I promise.” you agree as he lays you in the middle of the bed.
“Fuck, that’s hot. I want inside you so bad.” Bucky groans from behind you, both men are flush against your front and back. He pulls your leg up and runs his fingers through your slick folds. He dips two fingers inside to ensure that you’re ready. A third finger is added and you moan loudly.
“Bucky, please. I need you. Please!” You beg.
Bucky’s head finds your entrance and slowly presses in. You stare into Steve’s eyes as you grab Bucky and encourage him on. Bucky thrusts into you a few times languidly, working your pleasure and coating himself in your slick. “Come on, Stevie. Our girl’s ready for you.”
Steve slides his cock against you to coat himself before slowly pressing his head in. You gasp at the sensation.
“Okay?” Steve groans.
“Yes, it’s good. Don’t stop.” you moan and then cry out as Bucky gives a gentle thrust.
“Fuck, baby, feeling both of you is so hot.” Steve groans.
“Then don’t stop. Keep going, please.” You whisper.
“Move, Stevie. We need it.” Bucky groans.
Steve presses in by millimeters and keeps checking in. You feel so incredibly full and the pleasure is immense. When Steve stops again, you begin to roll your hips, loving the friction of feeling both of them in you.
“Oh, fuck.” Bucky moans as he takes a gentle bite out of your shoulder.
“I can feel both of you. Fuck, it’s so hot.” Steve says as he begins to move with you.
Your moans mingle as you cling to each other and writhe in pleasure.
“Oh, God. I’m
” the words fail you as your body shakes with the orgasm. The intensity nearly takes your breath and once it subsides you feel it immediately begin to build again.
“You’re trembling and clenching so tight, doll. You’re so fucking perfect for us. So perfect. Fuck, can’t believe we found you. Love you so much.” Bucky groans as he begins to move a little more quickly.
“Buck! Can feel you. Feels so good. You both feel so good. Want it to be like this forever.” Steve moans.
You’re trembling uncontrollably. The words, the men, the intense pleasure are enveloping you, body, mind, and soul. You cry out as you fall over the precipice again. Your body shudders and your hips move of their own volition.
“Oh, fuck. Fuck.” Bucky groans as he releases inside of you.
Steve’s hands cup your face and he kisses you intensely before his own orgasm overtakes him and he presses his forehead to yours. As he comes down from the high, he whispers to you, “Bucky’s always been right about you. You’re perfect for us.”
“You are. You’re perfect for us.” Bucky says, wrapping an arm around both of you.
You lift your hand and look at the ring that sparkles on it, “We’re perfect together.”

this is how the story goes
word count: 4249
warnings: mentions of death, disassociation, alcoholism and small mention of toxic masculinity
ao3 link
summary: In which Fabian deals with the fact that he doesn't always have to be the hero.
“Let me read to you tonight, my darling.” Mama says to him, holding out her hand. Fabian, being the small boy he is, lets out a giggle and runs over to her, taking it excitedly. She smiles down at him and he sees his own dimples on her cheeks. Fabian can’t help but think that she must be the most beautiful lady to ever live, because of course that would be his Mama. Her silver hair falls like waves down her shoulders and he wonders if one day his hair will grow as long as hers.
She leads him to their library, hoisting him up briefly so he can pick out a book. He can’t quite read all the titles yet, so he picks the one he can reach, which is a small picture book. Mama brings him close to her chest, holding him with one arm. “Ah, that’s a fine choice, Fabian.”
“What’s it about, Mama?” He asks her, letting her flip the book over in his hands.
“Hmm
let’s see.” She says softly. “It looks like you’ve picked an Elven tale tonight, one about a handsome adventurer who sails the seas in search of a great sea monster.”
“That sounds like Papa!” This earns a laugh from his mother, who kisses him on the cheek.
“It does, doesn’t it?” Mama lets go of the book, letting Fabian press it to his chest. Then she carries him out of the library and towards the stairs. “It’s time to get you to bed now, Fabian.”

Fabian recalls that day as one of the last days that his Mama ever read to him before bed.
But that was alright, because he’s been fine with that for a while now. He knew even then when little boys grow up, their mamas don’t read them to bed anymore.
When Fabian gets up for school that morning, he sees her when he glances out his window. Cathilda is patiently watering the rose bushes as she always does in the mornings and Mama is sitting in one of her kimonos, beautiful as always, but carrying with her the heavy weight of time. Time that has caused bags to form under her eyes, her frame to grow thinner and dull her eyes each passing day. Time that has aged her, with every sip of wine she takes from the glass in her hand.
He turns away from the window.
Fabian’s morning routine is easy. It’s about a half hour of dancing, then he takes a cold shower to wake himself up. Usually, he would go straight to training afterwards, but his Mama has allowed him this single day without morning training. He takes another hour to do his hair and then his makeup. It’s nothing too fancy, just a bit of eyeliner and the tiniest amount of concealer. If it was too heavy, he would sweat it off during practice and Fabian Aramais Seacaster does not let his makeup run.
By the time Fabian heads downstairs, Cathilda is now cooking in the kitchen. She’s humming an old sea shanty, one that she’s sung for him time and time again as a child. When he walks by, he hums along with her, dancing around her to grab his green smoothie.
“Good morning, Master Fabian!” Cathilda greets him, shaking the frying pan. “Do you mind taking this plate to yer mother? She’s waitin' in the dining room.”
“Good morning, Cathilda!” Fabian says proudly, placing a kiss on her cheek. “Of course, I can.” He scoops the plate up off the counter, carrying it to the dining room. Mama sits at the head of the table, where Papa used to sit. To her right is none other than Gilear, thankfully not in his father's robes again. Fabian tries hard not to fling the dish right at his head and keeps his shoulders up.
"Oh Fabian, my baby boy, how are you this morning? Off to that little adventuring academy again are we?" Mama says, nurturing a glass in her hand.
"Morning Mama," Fabian greets, setting her plate in front of her. Mama puts down her drink to lovingly pinch his cheeks. He laughs, hoping she doesn't notice when he slides it further away. "I believe me and the boys are going to meet at Basrar's this morning before school, since we aren't training today."
"We stop training for one day and you're already eating ice cream for breakfast? Whatever will we do with you?" Mama teases with a wave of her hand. He takes the seat to her left, purposely not making eye contact with Gilear.
Here's the thing about Gilear. He may be the Chosen One, something that Fabian is willing to admit and even defend, however, Gilear is still Gilear, and Gilear is a sad, pathetic little man who did not deserve his Mama.
Fabian could admit that his Mama and Gilear did have some similarities, as they seem to be both inept at the simplest of tasks. That being said, Hallariel Seacaster was an accomplished and renowned fencer, who dashingly took his father's own eye. Gilear Faeth was an ex-diplomat who couldn't get the yogurt stains out of his shirt even with the highest levels of magic money could provide.
This isn’t how the story is supposed to go. After Fabian heroically killed his own father, his mother was supposed to find another adventurous and even in some ways, more deserving man. In the story, Mama does not end up with a man like Gilear, but with a man far better than maybe even his father ever was. Or perhaps, she remains a widow, vowing never to remarry because her love for her deceased husband is so strong.
And in the story, Fabian is supposed to feel proud for killing his father, laying the final blow that his Papa craved so adamantly. But all Fabian is left with is a vacancy, the same vacancy that still rests in his mother's heart.
At times, it almost feels hereditary.
He stares down at his smoothie and thinks he hears Gilear say something to him, but it goes unaddressed.
Fabian thought it would get easier after sophomore year. Seeing his Papa was a treat, surely. Knowing his father is having such a good time in Hell helps him sleep a little easier, but it’s not enough to snuff out the flames of guilt that still burn in his chest.
Ever since his Papa died, his mother used the sensory deprivation egg less and less. To Fabian’s surprise, it was his mother’s decision, with Cathilda helping her steadily ease out of it. Cathilda told him that if they were able to get her out of the egg, they might be able to move onto her sobriety. He still holds onto that hope, even on the harder days when his mother can only greet him after school and then retire to her room soon after.
“You know she loves you with all her heart, Master Fabian.” Cathilda said to him one night. “People are complicated, ya see
Just because she’s struggling doesn’t mean she loves you any less.”
Fabian comes back to reality when he hears his mother’s laughter. He downs the rest of his smoothie, a little too warm now, to distract himself. He pulls out his crystal to check the Boyz’ group chat. “Well Mama, I think I’ll be off!” Fabian says, getting up from his chair.
“Off already, darling?” Mama asks him, brushing a lock of hair behind her ear. She’s barely touched her food. “Come here.”
He leans down and lets her place a kiss on his cheek. “You have a good day, my boy.” She tells him.
“Of course, Mama.” Fabian smiles at her, then nods his head. “Gilear.”
Gilear nods back. “I wish you a good day, Fabian.”
He walks out of the dining room, giving Cathilda a wave before heading towards the front door.
“Hangman,” Fabian thinks. “Ready for the day?”
He hears the purr of the engine start up as soon as he closes his front door. “I am ready for anything, sire. Where shall we go?”
“Head to the Ball’s apartment. I’m picking him up this morning.”
“Hangman...” Fabian warns, watching him roll out of the garage in front of him. The Hangman revs in response. “We are picking up the Ball.”
“Master, I remind you that the Ball no longer needs a ride to school.”
Fabian is sure if the Hangman could, it would sigh in disappointment. “Of course, sire.” He leans slightly to let him climb on. Then, Fabian revs the engine himself and tears down the street towards Strongtower Luxury Apartments.
---
“Fabian, for the last time.” Riz starts, walking out of the apartment building. “I’m never gonna get enough driving hours if you keep giving me rides to school.”
Riz lost his hat after sophomore year, and thank goodness because Fabian didn’t have the heart to tell him it wasn’t going to work forever. He wouldn’t admit it to Riz, but he was quite fond of the way his hair fell. It seemed impossible to Fabian that Riz didn’t style it in any way, but one day while they were hanging out, Fabian spotted a bottle of all in one shampoo and conditioner and chucked it into the garbage can.
Fabian laughs, putting a hand on his chest. “As if you would prefer to drive your mother’s car over a ride on the Hangman?” The Hangman revs underneath him for emphasis. He can see the smile creeping on Riz’s lips, so he keeps going. “Besides, everyone lies about their driving hours anyway. Who has the time to drive a whole forty hours both night and day? I certainly don’t.”
Riz looks like he’s about to protest, but instead his face spreads into a big smile. Fabian pats the Hangman’s seat victoriously. “Come on, The Ball. To Basrar’s.”
With a roll of his eyes, Riz climbs onto the Hangman, situating his briefcase against his chest. Then, his arms wrap around Fabian’s torso tightly. “You aren’t always gonna be around to give me rides, you know. I should-- uh, probably learn how to drive at some point.” He says. It’s supposed to be casual, but in reality, Riz just dropped a whale sized weight on Fabian’s chest. It threatens to leave him breathless and not in a good way.
Fabian revs the engine instead, letting the purr drown out his thoughts. “Don’t say stuff like that, Riz.” He says under his breath, before taking off down the road. He isn’t going to start thinking about this right now.
They are almost to Basrar’s when Riz shouts over the wind, “Oh hey, Fabian! Do you want to come over to the office after practice?”
Fabian smiles. “Cracking another case, The Ball?”
“You know it!” Fabian can practically hear the smile in his voice. “I always need someone to hold my string.”
Fabian feels the laughter bubble from his chest. “Yes, one of my many talents. Fabian Aramais Seacaster, holder of string!”
“It’s extremely crucial to my casework!” Riz adds. “I couldn’t solve them without it!”
Fabian feels Riz’s arms tighten around him and he lets out another laugh, pulling into Basrar’s.
---
They walk into the cool air of the shop and see Gorgug sitting at a booth in the corner. He waves to them as they approach.
“Hey guys!” Gorgug greets, giving them a toothy grin. He’s hunching over, like always, with a pink milkshake in his hand. He always ordered strawberry with extra whipped cream.
“Hey Gorgug!” Riz greets, letting Fabian take the window seat. “Dude, I gotta tell you about this show I’ve been watching. It’s awesome.”
“Oh yeah?” Gorgug says, sipping his milkshake. “Zelda’s been looking for more shows to watch, cause you know, all her parents watch is like those crazy reality TV shows.”
Fabian watches as Basrar floats over to their table. “Boys! Good to see you, and so early in the morning too. What can I get you?”
Riz orders a weird concoction of chocolate mint, coffee, and pistachio ice cream topped with gummy bears and chocolate drizzle. Fabian never understood why the gummy bears had to be added to it, something that Riz no doubt picked up from Fig. The gummy bears become hard as rocks because the ice cream makes them too cold, but he’s been friends with Riz long enough to know he would eat almost anything. And so, Fabian orders a simple banana split with caramel sauce.
By the time their ice cream gets here, Riz is already waist deep in the intricate world building of the tv show he’s been watching. The thing about Riz is that whenever he got really excited about something, he’d explain it so fast he’d have to keep back tracking and then return to his previous thought. It could get a bit confusing at times, but the Bad Kidz, at least Fabian, didn’t mind. They just made sure to ask a lot of questions.
"Here's the real catch, though. It wasn't the butler, but it was actually--" Riz gets cut off by his crystal ringtone buzz loudly on the table. He grabs it immediately and presses it to his ear. A few moments pass before he says, "Mom? What's going on?"
Fabian immediately sits up straighter before Riz holds his hand out. "I'll be right back." He mouths to them, scooting out of the booth. Fabian watches as he walks out of Basrar's.
Gorgug plays with the straw of his milkshake for a moment."So
how are you and Aelwyn doing?" He asks innocently, because Gorgug would never ask a question he didn't want the answer to. Fabian suddenly feels a little sick, putting his spoon down.
"It-- uh, well--" Fabian is tripping over himself now. He hates when he gets like this. His thoughts race through his head and try to force themselves out his mouth all at once before he can even think of what to say.
"I--I get it, if that's like--" Gorgug stumbles a bit. "Too private or something, I just, you know, was wondering."
"No, no, it's fine, Gorgug. We just
broke up a few weeks ago."
"Oh." He says simply. "Why didn't you
"
"Say anything?" Fabian finishes for him. "I guess it was somewhat embarrassing."
"Embarrassing? Did she break up with you?"
Fabian shrugs. "No, it was more mutual, if anything." He starts playing with his ice cream now, getting spoonfuls of caramel sauce and pouring it back into the bowl over and over again.
"Then why would you be embarrassed?" Gorgug presses. "I mean, my parents would say that's pretty mature."
"It just wasn't what I-- We? Expected it to be." Fabian admits. It feels weird to say it out loud after it's been rattling in his head for weeks. "I guess, maybe I expected it to be like you and Zelda. Two matches made in nerd heaven."
"You know, not every relationship is gonna be perfect, Fabian." Gorgug reminds him. "Zelda and I get along great, sure, but that doesn't mean I don't fuck up every now and then or that I never get upset with her." He shrugs. "But that's a part of like, I don't know, loving someone. You guys kinda just get to figure stuff out together."
"I guess Aelwyn and I never really tried figuring anything out together."
"Maybe you just expected too much from each other." Gorgug shrugs again. "Cause, you can't only love the best version of someone, you know?"
Fabian opens his mouth to speak, but before he can, the front door jingles and Riz makes his way back to the booth.
"Sorry about that guys." Riz says, sitting back in the booth next to Fabian. "My mom needed to know where I put the law books I borrowed from her last weekend. Where was I?"
Gorgug responds, but not before casting a reassuring glance at Fabian. "Uh
I think you were about to tell us who the killer was, right?"
Fabian can't tell if Riz notices and adds, "Oh yes, something about how it wasn't the butler?"
"Right, right!" He says excitedly. "Okay, so
"
He continues telling them about the tv show, which Fabian doesn’t mean to tune out of, but he can’t stop himself from thinking about Aelwyn.
Their breakup had been mutual. They quickly realized that they simply weren’t compatible with one another. Fabian wishes he didn’t take it hard, but Aelwyn was technically the first girlfriend he ever had, and his first kiss.
Fabian was supposed to go straight to Fallinel, take on the Elven army and break Aelwyn out of imprisonment in a feat of gorgeous heroism. Which, if you left some parts out and moved a few things around, he did, technically. But then Aelwyn was supposed to be so impressed with his prowess that they would start dating, eventually get married out on the sea and then have beautiful children, born out of both Aelwyn and his exceptional talents.
At least, that’s what he told himself.
But when they actually got together, Fabian realized that he didn’t understand Aelwyn at all, and she didn’t understand him. They had both been through copious amounts of stress during sophomore year, with Aelwyn having to adjust to a new life without her parents, and Fabian having to grapple with the events of Leviathan and his own residual fears. It was just too much for them to sort out together, too many parts of themselves that they didn’t understand, so how could they ask the other to?
“You have this version of me built in your head, Fabian.” Aelwyn said to him. “Maybe, before all of this, I could have been that person for you. But, I’m not even sure who I am right now.”
And he agreed with her, and that was that.
Their crystals all buzz on their table, and Fabian reaches over to check the message.
figgy pudding: Hey losers, where you guys at?
He types back.
fabian: Basrar’s, be there soon.
“I guess that’s our cue, huh.” Gorgug says, gathering the dishes onto the table, like he always does. “Make sure to text me the name of that show, Riz, so I won't forget.”
“Will do.” Riz replies, already sending the text to Gorgug. He gets up from the booth to let Fabian out and turns to him. “You ready to go?”
From the way Riz is looking at him, he can’t help but feel like he’s asking a different question, but he brushes past it. “Yeah, of course.”
---
"Is something wrong?" Riz asks that night, because Riz is too perceptive for his own good and Fabian acknowledges that he hasn't said a word to him in over 10 minutes. “You were kinda acting weird today.”
"Hm? Oh it's nothing, The Ball. Don't worry about it. What were you saying?" Fabian replies, sitting up a little straighter.
They are sitting in Riz's office, with it's stale mugs of coffee and scattered evidence. If this was anyone else's office, Fabian would hate being here. Sometimes, Riz is so deep in a mystery it becomes cramped with case files and boxes, but it always feels good to be in a space that is truly lived in. It’s nothing like home, and maybe that’s why Fabian likes it.
"You can talk to me, you know." Riz says, taking the red string Fabian's been playing with out of his hands. He pins a photo up on his corkboard.
Fabian doesn't respond. He knows he should, but at this moment, talking to his best friend seems like one of the hardest things he can do.
Riz notices this, and looks at him. "I know how you get. We don't have to talk about it." He runs a hand through his hair. "You, uh-- wanna watch a movie, maybe?"
Fabian blinks at him for a moment before replying, "You want to take a break?"
Riz laughs at that. "Come on, Fabian. I'm not that bad."
Fabian scoffs. "Please, you almost missed homecoming because you were here piecing together your clues." He gestures to the corkboard.
"And then I closed that case the same weekend." Riz says proudly, puffing up his chest a bit.
Fabian smiles, then makes the mistake of looking down at the floor beneath them. He runs his fingers over the scratch marks carved into the wood.
He tried to call and Riz didn’t pick up. Riz never ever misses his calls and his ringer is always on, so why wasn’t he--
Riz’s eyes go from soft to panicked almost immediately. “Hey, don’t do that.” He tells Fabian, pushing his hands away from the floor. “I, uh-- still need to get someone to fix those.”
“I could get someone to do it.” Fabian says immediately. Riz shakes his head.
“You know I wouldn’t let you.”
“But I could.”
“Fabian, it wasn’t your fault.”
And when Riz says this, Fabian lets out a breath of air.
Because he knows, deep down, the situation with Riz last year wasn’t his fault. But maybe if he had been a better friend and called more, or came around the office more, or had just been there when it happened... then Riz wouldn’t have to pay someone to replace his floorboards. Maybe, he wouldn’t have such a hard time looking at himself in the mirror.
“You aren’t the only one who fails, Fabian.” Riz continues, seemingly reading his thoughts. He sighs. “Y--You do this thing where you think you are the only person in the world who can do anything. The only person who can save the princess in the tower, the only person who can kill your father’s rival, like you are trying to hold the whole world up on your shoulders because you are Fabian Aramais Seacaster. And I get it, you know? I’ve had some pretty big shoes to fill myself.” He lets out a short laugh. “But, you don’t have to
prove yourself to me. Or to-- uh, anyone, really.”
“Riz, I--” Fabian’s words fail him, because figuring things out was always Riz’s job. He knows he will pay to get Riz’s floors done, because maybe Fabian didn’t have to prove himself to anyone, but as well as being a Seacaster, he was also Riz Gukgak’s best friend, and that he needed people to know.
“It’s okay, Fabian, really it is.” Riz says, interrupting him. “I’m not gonna lie, you haven’t always been-- uh, a perfect friend. I know I haven’t either.” He shrugs. “But you always try to be, and that means more to me than you probably know.”
Fabian reaches over and pulls Riz into the tightest hug he’s given since he got out of the Forest of the Nightmare King. He feels Riz tense up at first, but then his arms wrap around his neck.
“You are my best friend.” Fabian says into Riz’s shirt, because if he doesn’t say this now the flames that stir inside his chest will burn the words to ash before they reach his mouth. It was easier to say when Riz wasn’t staring back at him, picking him apart. A habit that Riz could never shake, but sometimes, Fabian welcomed it. He didn’t have to say much, because Riz always just seemed to understand.
Fabian has never had a best friend before. His family sailed so often when he was younger that it was hard to make friends with any of the kids. He was constantly being pulled out of school and thrown into the next. Every time he did so he would play his little charade of being Fabian Aramais Seacaster, impressing the children in his class, and then his family set sail once again.
Near the end of freshman year, Riz pulled Fabian aside to thank him for the briefcase and the business cards. Fabian had brushed it off, saying it wasn’t that big of a deal, but it took him hours to hand write all those business cards. Something that, to this day, Fabian still hasn’t told Riz.
After that, Riz never stopped calling him his best friend, and Fabian quickly realized that Riz is one of the only people who had ever really tried to be his friend. He denied it at first, but eventually he came to accept it as a fact.
And maybe it was the same for Riz too. Like Fabian, he didn’t like talking about personal issues. It wasn’t until sophomore year when Riz was finally able to talk about his dad in front of everyone. And much like Fabian and his own charade, he much preferred his role as a detective versus a teenage boy trying to figure the world out.
But that was just it, wasn’t it? Because maybe, they could be two teenage boys trying to figure out the world together.
And so, Fabian may not write his name upon the world. Every living being in Spyre may not know the name Fabian Aramais Seacaster, but he is okay with this.
Because Fabian doesn’t always need to be the hero, the knight who saves the princess, or the son who kills his father’s rival. Because even when he’s not the hero, there are people who still love him. And to be a part of a story that continues to write itself, that is bigger than his own, with Riz and the rest of the Bad Kidz?
Fabian couldn’t think of anything else he would rather do.

Let the Stars Witness

Okay okay holy— omg I did it! My first request and from an admired writer of mine no less!
From @kim-monsterlings : Hi and welcome!! Really looking forward to seeing your work! ~ If you would, could I request some form of friends to lovers with an orc? (Prompts maybe like, "you deserve better.") Thank you! <3
Since it wasn't specified on what their genders are, I hope your okay with what I went with! And I kinda trailed off from the prompt (or rather it's different but similar)
Anyways you'll know when you read!

Pairing: Male Orc (Duruk) x Human Fem!Reader

"You know, I never thought I would be friends with anyone here, especially with someone other than my, well, species," you tell your companion, your eyes not leaving the cloudless night sky as you lied on your back on the roof of his house. The stars were out tonight.
If you told your younger self that you'd be having great escapades (if running away and getting into a series of trouble fall under that) with an orc, you would most definitely cry your eyes out because you thought were being teased, taking it as a hurtful comment. You were sensitive like that. Part of the reason why no one would even go near you, afraid they might hurt you with a pat on the shoulder or with one word alone. You became the prime target of bullies, finding twisted amusement at your pathetic reactions. A crybaby, they called you. But it wasn't your fault you didn't have much control over your emotions. You were weird, asocial, timid, maybe even depressed. Having a neglectful family didn't help either, it just worsened.
‱
The morning you met Duruk was after the orientation. And it was not so good for a first impression.
Long story short, you cried.
But since you're perhaps curious as to what happened exactly, let's elaborate.
You had your headphones on, the melodic sound of gentle rain played in a 3-hour loop and blocked out other noises, your eyes glued to the path you were on. You took long and hurried steps, wishing you could teleport to your classroom and hide in the back, disappear or become invisible.
You were distracted, or should we say, focused on the ground and expecting everyone to step aside and let you through.
Well, except for the one who had his back on you.
You crashed—not an exaggeration— into something- someone massive. You stumbled back and landed on your bum, wincing from the impact. Luckily, your headphones were safe (ah yes, priorities), detaching from your ears and landing on your shoulders. When you looked up to see who it was, you thought your eyes were gonna fall off, grow little legs, and scamper away.
Before you stood an orc, halfway turned to glance at whoever it was that tried to push him, his sharp tusks jutting out from his maw. His brows were furrowed as he looked down on you. Sure, he wasn't as tall as the orcs you've seen around the city and campus but still was over 6 feet, with muscles thicker than your thighs, easily hulking you.
You tried to get out an apology and run as far as you could go, but you just sat there, frozen as you strained your neck to meet his gaze, you couldn't look away. Your heart was trying to claw its way out into the surface.
Then you felt the tears swell up.
They cascaded down your face before you even could stop them.
The orc's eyes widened at your reaction and crouched down to your level in an instant that he almost fell over. His hands hovered, not sure what to do.
"Hey, hey, please don't cry. Please don't—"
"I-I-I'm re..really s-sorry p-please don't hurt m-me..." You managed to choke out pathetically, hiccuping in every word.
"Shhh now hey, it's okay. It was an accident— what? No! Why would I do that?" he replied. The orc peeked over his shoulder and to the sides. "Let's get you to somewhere, uh, less crowded," he added. You turned your head and saw that you had an audience, whispers went around as they sent pitiful and disgusted glances in your direction, only making you cry even more.
He proceeded to unceremoniously lift you into his arms, bridal style, and dashed away. You gripped the front of his shirt and shut your eyes. You were trembling now, scared of what he might do to you. How could you even fight back with your small stature?
It wasn't long until you felt him slow down and placed you carefully on a bench. The orc knelt in front of you, brows scrunched up as he studied your face.
"You okay? I didn't hurt you, did I?"
You didn't reply, only staring at him through your glassy eyes as you heaved.
You flinched when his hand started rubbing your back, his other hand placed on the side of the bench to balance himself.
He continued to caress your back and murmured soothing words in hopes of calming you down.
Your tears didn't stop falling until moments later when you came down from your initial fear, the warmth of his palm leaving your back once you did. All the while the orc remained where he was, at a loss of what to do next.
You rubbed your sticky face with the collar of your pale and blotchy crimson sweater, sniffing and taking slow, deep breaths before you spoke.
"I... I'm sorry for causing you trouble. E-Even going as far as to take me somewhere quiet. I...appreciate that." You thought you'd pass out with the way people gathered around you, it was suffocating. "Thank you..."
"I panicked," he started, "Sorry—I mean, it's okay, you didn't do anything wrong. I get that a lot of people run away from the sight of me, but you didn't, and just froze there on the ground so..." he shrugged and rubbed the back of his neck.
You shook your head. He was such an imposing figure to many, their first thought was most likely to get away or scream at him.
"You looked angry... When I bumped into you." You slammed into him actually, but he didn't budge an inch. Guess it was one-sided.
"Oh, that? Well, my brother scolds me a lot for having such a grumpy face, scaring humans away. Like he was the one to talk when he's taller and bigger than me! People would faint on the spot when they see him, I bet!"
The image your mind conjured up tore a laugh out of your body, two orcs arguing about how not to terrify people at sight was damn hilarious. When was the last time someone made you laugh like this?
The orc grinned, your reaction a contrast to that of earlier.
You opened your mouth to say something but the ringing of the great bell resounded, cutting you off. The two of you stood up as you realized you were late for your first class of the school year.
"So, uh, what now?" you asked.
"How about we go to our class, then maybe meet up later? Oh, fu— my mother will gut me— I haven't introduced myself!" He blurted out, his voice making you yelp with the sudden outburst.
Clearing his throat, he reached out, "I'm Duruk."
In turn, you gave him your name, taking his hand and smiled. "Hello, Duruk."
‱
True to his word, you met again later when lunch came. The cafeteria was packed so you settled on getting the convenience food they offered and eat somewhere quiet.
Your conversation that day spiraled when you found out the two of you had a lot in common. From your favorite rock band to your favorite flavor of ice cream.
You both strongly agreed that vanilla ice cream was superior.
You agreed to meet up during breaks, always having something to chat about.
Eventually, you became inseparable.
He even changed and transferred to your class just so the two of you could be together at the start of the day rather than walk half of the campus to see each other every time.
You became best friends, sharing each moment in school, may it be helping the other stay awake in a boring class, or copying homework when one of you forgot to do it. Soon enough, Duruk started inviting you to his house to hang out. He did mention he had four other siblings, but he lived alone. You came by almost every night and on whole weekends to escape from home, only a few miles in between. No one would notice you gone anyways, but you returned around midnight, not wanting to impose on Duruk no matter what he says, so he walks you back instead.
You basked in each other's company. The odd and scrutinizing glares didn't go unnoticed when you two were together, but you shrugged them all off.
It didn't take long before you started having feelings for the orc, a little wishful thinking that you could be more than friends. You noted lately that his touches would linger seconds longer than usual, hugs and even a hand on your shoulder and back seem to be warmer and —you dare say— affectionate. It weighed heavily on your heart, your simple crush turned into something else, and it only grew with each passing day, and every laugh you shared.
But of course, you swatted those away, buried them deep inside every damn time they climb back up. Who could even love you? Yes, you have Duruk, he likes you, you think. But that's the end of it. Just close buddies. You can't take the risk of ruining your friendship with him and make things awkward with the only one you had! What if he stops talking to you, weirded out by your confession? You don't want to go back to being alone again, your heart can't take the rejection that came with it.
So you endured.
‱
A little over five months ever since the embarrassing accident, here you are now, stargazing with your best friend.
"Well, good thing you didn't watch where you were going that time then," he says, chuckling beside you. His hands cushioned his head against the hard surface. "I wouldn't have..." he trails off.
"Hm, what?" you ask. Duruk went silent and didn't answer you for a time. You were about to let it slide but then he breathes in audibly.
"I wouldn't have met an angel if you did. Should've caught you in my arms, but sadly I didn't move fast enough." He replies, his voice deep and mellow.
You straighten up and turn to face him, your brows shot up, incredulous to what he just implied.
"W-Wait. What?" you squeak, your heart thumping hard in your chest, your skin warming up even in the chilled night air.
Is he—
"You're so cute, y'know that? Fuck it, it's all or nothing," he whispers under his breath as he sits up to face you. His expression was unreadable, but you see in his mahogany eyes a familiar glint of determination. "I'm not good with long-ass speeches so I'll make this short," he breathes in before he continues, "I feel something for you, for a while now, more than a best friend does, like...in a romantic sense. I want to cherish you and hold you in my arms every time I see you, I- ah fuck- damn it I just—" he growls, "I love you, so much and if you don't love me back then please re—"
You shut him off with your lips against his, Duruk's tusks pressing against your cheeks as you held his face in your hands. He was stunned for two solid seconds before returning the kiss, his arms snaking around your waist and pulling you close and into his lap.
You feel something wet roll down your hand and you immediately jerked back to see his face. The orc was crying.
Did you do it wrong? Were you so terrible at it—
"I don't deserve you... A monster like me doesn't deserve an angel like you."
Where was this coming from??
"Say that again, I dare you."
"I don't de—"
This idiot!
You pecked his lips to cut him off.
"You big dummy," you begin, "I love you too, idiot. You may be a monster but not what everyone else defines you as. I love you as you are. You're my best friend, and dare I say my l-lover now. Is that right...?"
Duruk gives you a small, gentle smile, "If you'll have me, then yes, for as long as you want me to be." He says, sniffling a sob as a couple more tears tumbled down his rugged face.
You never thought you'd see him like this. He was the one who kept making you laugh with his stories and terrible jokes. Before you, in your hands was someone vulnerable, his eyes soft and fond as he gazed into yours.
It made your heart pound and it hurt.
You leaned in and he met you halfway, kissing once again, deeper and more intimate this time. Real. You brought your arms around his neck, your tears spilling out and he tightened his grip around you. It felt like a dream, too good to be true, but the way he hugged you like you were the only thing that anchored him in this world made you believe it wasn't. All of this was real and you couldn't be anymore happier.
From above, the glittering stars, the light gentle as they shone, bear witness to two freed hearts, bottled up feelings gushing out like a broken dam as you embraced one another and lost yourselves in the moment of bliss, cheeks stained and clothes lightly damp from the tiny rivulets of liquid that dropped down.
It's a lovely night, isn't it?

St. Patrick’s night III
Tumblr media
Murphy MacManus x Reader
Summary:  You’re left alone on St. Patrick’s night, the people you were supposed to hang out with  seemingly having forgotten you, but what seemed to be an awful night turns into something completely different when you meet the MacManus twins.
Another chapter for this thing that was supposed to be a one-shot but got out of hand...
Tumblr media
The next day at work, you were once again distracted thinking about the MacManus twins. You wondered if they meant it when they’d said they’d pick you up from work that day, you were a bit worried that they wouldn’t, but you couldn’t see them lying like that
maybe they’d forget, though, or something else would come up
You knew it was better not to overthink it, though, and you tried to focus on doing your job.
It wasn’t easy, though, as you kept wondering about Murphy, and how he hadn’t said anything about having kissed you, and he hadn’t kissed you again either
You knew it was probably because he’d kissed you only because it was St. Patrick, but, what if he thought you didn’t want to kiss him? That you weren’t interested? Maybe you should have said something when he’d kissed you? You wouldn’t mind kissing him again

You wouldn’t mind taking time to get to know each other either, see if you both wanted to go on dates or something
your cheeks heated up at the idea, feeling nervous already and it was just an idea in your head
and Murphy might not even be interested. He hadn’t said anything about it after all. Maybe you should try to gather the courage to actually ask him yourself
it sounded intimidating, though

Focusing on your job was proving to be hard, even if you tried your best, and you couldn’t stop counting the hours until you were done, barely managing to eat your lunch. Once the clock marked five, you and your coworkers began to clean up your desks and put everything into place before gathering your own stuff and leaving.
You walked in front of a group of your coworkers, who were talking and laughing together, ignoring you, but you didn’t care anymore, you were better off without them. As you walked outside, you saw the MacManus waiting for you, and you couldn’t help your smile. Yes, you were much better with the twins as your friends than trying to socialize with the assholes you worked with.  The brothers smiled too when they saw you, approaching you to greet you.
“Hi, lass.”
“Hi, you came.” You didn’t mean to sound like you had thought they might stand you up, but you did sound a bit surprised.
“Of course, love, we told ye,” Murphy said, frowning.
“Yeah, yer a woman of little faith, lass,” Connor teased you, but he frowned when he saw your coworkers walking out of the building too, stopping at the door to chat and say goodbye to each other without even giving you a glance. “Don’t blame ye, considerin’ the kind of pricks yer surrounded with,” Connor said, didn’t seem to mind if your coworkers hear him or not
you were a bit afraid of their reaction if they did
but no, Connor was right, they were pricks.
Murphy was looking at your coworkers too, but he wasn’t frowning like Connor, instead, he smirked as his eyes filled with mischief, and you barely had time to wonder what he was up to before he’d stepped even closer to you, reaching to cup your face, and then he was kissing you.
It wasn’t as tentative and soft as the St.Patrick’s kiss, neither as brief, and you felt your brain sort of melt as butterflies seemed to flutter in your belly. Your hands found their way to Murphy’s shoulders almost by their own accord, but he didn’t seem to mind, as he placed a hand on your waist while the other kept cupping your cheek, even when he pulled back.
You could only blink at him in silence, your brain still feeling a bit numb in the best way, and Murphy smirked at you.
“Better than the St.Patrick’s kiss, love?” He asked, loud enough for your coworkers, who had gone silent, to hear. You nodded, still wordless, and Murphy’s smile went bigger.
“So
should I kiss the lass too or
” Connor said, and it was obvious that he was joking, but Murphy frowned nonetheless, scoffing as he shoved his brother, who chuckled.
“Come on, love, let’s go.” Murphy smiled at you, offering you his arm, and you felt a bit shy but hooked your arm with him, smiling bashfully when Murphy smiled at you. Connor smirked and walked to your other side, hooking his arm with yours too, and Murphy rolled his eyes. “Will ye quit?!” He complained, trying to hit his brother, and so you ducked your head.
“Hey, not fighting while I’m in the middle
” You joked, chuckling.
“Sorry, lass,” both twins apologized as you three began walking, Connor letting go of your arm.
“So
do you have plans?” You asked as you walked.
“What if we get somethin’ to eat and go to our place before goin’ to doc’s?” Connor suggested.
“We live right in front of the pub,” Murphy explained.
“Well, that’s convenient,” you chuckled. “Okay, sounds good.”
The Irish neighborhood wasn’t close to your work, but you went walking anyway. You didn’t mind, and neither did the twins, who kept arguing about what to get for dinner. Murphy wanted pizza and Connor Chinese, and both twins were trying to win you to their side, but you didn’t mind, you liked both.
“Come on, ye have to pick one,” Murphy told you. “And sure ye know pizza is better, aye?” You didn’t know how Murphy could look like trouble one second, then the next he could give such convincing puppy eyes, but you were about to cave and pick pizza even if ye were leaning more to Chinese.
“We literally had pizza yesterday,” Connor complained, rolling his eyes at his twin before looking at you. “Seriously, lass, we’d only eat pizza if it were up to him.”
“Ye weren’t complainin’ that much when ye ate a whole pizza by yerself
” Murphy grumbled.
They both looked at you expectantly, waiting for you to choose, and you tried not to give in to Murphy’s puppy eyes. “Well, if you had pizza yesterday, then I’d say it’s fair that we have Chinese today.”
“Aye!” Connor nodded, looking at his brother with a smug grin, and Murphy scoffed.
“Can’t believe ye betrayed me like this, love,” he pouted, but then he was smirking, and so you knew he didn’t mean it.
“We can have pizza any other day,” you offered, smiling.
“Aye? Ye wanna eat with us another day?” Murphy asked, grinning in that way that lighted his face in such a pretty way that gave you all the butterflies.
“Yeah, sure.” You nodded, looking down shyly. “If you wanna.”
“Sure we do, love,” Murphy said with that pretty grin and Connor nodded, smiling.
“Okay..okay, great.” You smiled bashfully, glad that it seemed they did want to eat with you any other day and hang out with you.
*
The brothers hadn’t been kidding, they did live in front of the pub, in an old building that didn’t seem quite fitting for housing
You didn’t know how you expected their place to be, but certainly not what you saw when you walked in, and you blinked as you looked around.
It was
it was illegal lofting, that for starters, you were sure of it, and the distribution was
peculiar, so to speak, especially for people not living alone, considering that there were no rooms. Not even a bathroom, there was no wall or anything at all hiding the toilet, neither the row of showers against the wall. You get that the MacManus were twins and all that but
they really did not seem to care for privacy. You really hoped that you didn’t have to pee while you were there, because you weren’t about to do it in front of them.
The place was small, and there wasn’t much there. On one side, there was a couple of mattresses on the floor, separated by a nightstand table in which you saw a couple of mugs and bottles of beer, a small table with some more empty bottles of beer and empty packages of pizza, and a couple of ashtrays full of smoked cigarettes, and some mismatched chairs around it.  Against the wall, there was a tattered sofa that seemed about to die, a small tv on top of an even smaller table, and for some reason, the fridge was between the sofa and the tv, with a lamp on top of it
peculiar, but the whole place was
peculiar.
On the other side, there was a small, old stove, an older sink, and a small worktop which surface was almost covered by bottles of booze, some still full but most empty. If you had any doubt that the boys liked to drink, it was gone by now.
You didn’t want to seem rude or shallow, or judging, or anything like that, and so you stopped looking around like that. The brothers hadn’t seemed to notice, though, or to care, they walked in and took off their rosaries, hanging them on a couple of nails on the wall next to the door, and then Connor left the Chinese takeaway on the table.
“Ye hungry, love?” Murphy asked you and you nodded, since you had barely been able to eat your lunch as you wondered if the MacManus might forget that they had made plans with you, which now sounded silly, you shouldn’t have doubted them.
“Let’s eat,” Connor said as he began to take the food containers out of the bag, the smell making your mouth water already.
You stepped closer to the table to help him with it, and your eyes landed on an open notebook under a beer bottle, spotting some drawings and doodles on it, though before you could get a closer look, Murphy snapped it, almost making the bottle fall, and he closed the notebook and threw it to one of the mattresses.
You frowned, confused, but Connor snorted. “Murph likes to get all artistic sometimes,” he said, prompting Murphy into hitting his twin’s head as he snapped at him to shut up.
“You draw those?” You asked, looking towards the notebook on the bed before looking at Murphy, who to your surprised, seemed almost shy. For how cocky and smug he seemed to look more often than not, it was strange to see him looking almost embarrassed, and you didn’t like it. You hated that you had made him feel like that.
“Yeah, he drew our tattoos in that notebook of him,” Connor said, nodding.
“Told ye to shut up,” Murphy snapped again and this time Connor was quick to stop his hands before he could hit him.
“I think that’s really nice!” You rushed to say, and you meant it, you were impressed. “Seriously, it’s great!”
“Aye?” Murphy looked at you like he thought you didn’t mean it, or even like you were trying to make fun of him, and so you nodded eagerly, smiling.  He still seemed a bit embarrassed, but he smiled at you. “Connor draws too, he tattoed all mine,” Murphy said, gesturing to his neck, and before you could say how impressive that was, Connor spoke.
“You did all mine better.” Connor shrugged, reaching to grab Murphy’s arm and frowning at the tattoed cross. “Parts of this look wonky.”
“I think it looks great!” You said, impressed. “Both his and your tattoos, it’s so impressive, seriously!”
“Aye?” Murphy asked you, his smile bigger now.
“Yes!” You nodded. “Seriously, you not only draw your tattoos but you tattoo them too?! It’s amazing! If I ever want a tattoo, I know who to ask!”
“Ye’d ask me?” Murphy asked with a smile that made you feel all funny and smile too, and you nodded.
“Sure, why not?” You shrugged, and Murphy gave you that pretty, bright smile, that made you consider if he might mind it if you kissed him again

You barely noticed Connor as he began fumbling with the food containers again, focused as you were on Murphy and that damn smile, but when you finally looked at Connor, you noticed that he seemed amused at Murphy and you. You felt your cheeks heating up a bit, and you tried to kick your brain into working again, helping with the food.
You three decided to settle on the sofa for dinner instead of at the table, since Connor suggested that you could watch a movie, even if you weren’t sure that old thing would hold you three without falling into pieces, and so they dragged the tv in front of the sofa. Connor had a small stack of what seemed old action movies, and once again you had the final vote on what to watch, since the twins kept arguing about it, Murphy complaining that they’d seen the movie that Connor’d picked a million times already while Connor retorted that it was classic worth watching another million times.
You didn’t give it much thought, you didn’t care much and you didn’t want the food to go cold while the boys argued. Since you had sided with Connor on what to eat, this time you voted for Murphy’s choice of movie. He smiled smugly at his twin, but Connor didn’t complain much, since he liked that one too.
It was so much fun, to eat and watch the movie while the twins kept commenting on it, usually Connor saying details that you hadn’t cared to notice before, things that he liked, and Murphy just making fun of it until they both hit each other from time to time, but you knew they didn’t mean anything bad by it, so it was fun too
you didn’t know what was more entertaining, to watch the movie or to watch the MacManus
they had a way of moving in sync most of the time that was hypnotizing, even if it was just to bring food into their mouth, but when they began bickering they were so endearing and funny
you loved it.
At some point, though, once you three had finished your food, you started to find it hard to focus on the movie, as you felt Murphy’s fingers playing with your hair. You froze for a second before looking at Murphy, who was sat down between Connor and you. He smirked at you and you felt your cheeks heating up but a smile tugged at your lips too, it seemed that every time that Murphy smiled, you couldn’t help but smile too.
Murphy’s smirk went wider at that, and his fingers caressed your hair again before he casually placed his arm around your shoulders. It felt nice, to have him so close to you, almost kind of holding you, but you couldn’t stop your shyness and nerves. You tried to relax, though, you didn’t want Murphy to think that you were uncomfortable or that you wanted him to move away from you
not that there was much space left on the small, tattered sofa though.
“Ye both ain’t lookin’ at the screen, yer gonna miss the best part of the movie,” Connor complained, and you looked away from Murphy and to the tv, a bit embarrassed at being caught by Connor staring at his twin, but also part of you was kind of glad to escape Murphy’s intense glance, that made you feel shy while also making you feel twirls in your belly

“The whole movie is the best part of the movie for ye,” Murphy scoffed, chuckling.
“It’s a damn good movie,” Connor said as he shoved his brother, pushing him closer to you
not that Murphy seemed to mind, and honestly, you didn’t either, even if it made you shy.
You still wondered what was Murphy’s deal, though, if he wanted just to mess around and have fun, kiss you sometimes, hold you while you watched tv it seemed too, and that was it, or if it meant something else, more. You still didn’t know how to bring it up, how to ask, you knew you should, so as not to obsess, thinking and wondering about it all the time, but the idea of asking him made you feel so awkward
You decided to just enjoy whatever it was, at least for that night.
Once the movie finished, and Connor’s monologue about it finished too, you three made your way to the pub. No sooner had you stepped inside, you excused yourself and rushed to the bathroom. You had been needing to go for a while now, but since there was no walls or anything hiding the toilet at the MacManus’ place, you had been waiting until you were at the pub, no matter neither of the twins had seemed to have any qualms about it while you were there.
Once you left the bathroom, you noticed that the brothers had sat down on one of the tables instead of at the bar counter, and you liked it more. They were sat down next to each other, and when you approached them, Murphy smiled at you, pushing a pint towards the seat in front of him, while Connor looked at you seeming amused.
“We ordered ye a pint, love, hope it’s okay? Murphy asked you.
“Yes, it’s perfect, thanks.” You nodded as you sat down, but you frowned at Connor, wondering why he seemed so amused, and he noticed it, smirking.
“So, lass
I was tellin’ to my brother that ye were too shy to take a piss at home and that’s why ye ran to the bathroom like that,” he said, and you almost groaned aloud, mortified and beyond embarrassed. Your cheeks burned and you almost hid your face on your hands. “See
told ye.”
Connor chuckled, looking at his brother, and you felt like hitting him in the head like Murphy sometimes did
they both seemed to enjoy embarrassing each other, and you hoped Connor, or even both, hadn’t decided to extend it to you too and try to embarrass you too.
“What
but lass, ye got nothin’ to be embarrassed about!” Murphy said, which just made you feel more embarrassed. “We all gotta piss!”
“Can we just
talk about anything else at all? Please?” You begged, feeling your face so hot that you wouldn’t be surprised if it caught fire.
The twins seemed to take pity on you, letting it go, and they began telling you about one day at work in which Murphy got himself locked inside the bathroom of the meatpacking factory. and Connor had to “throw the door open to rescue him, lass, we had to pay for it, ‘cause Murphy was an idiot,” he explained, earning a shove from Murphy.
“I ain’t an idiot, the lock was not openin’ no matter what, I promise, love,” Murphy insisted as if it was a matter of life or death.
“I believe you,” you assured him, laughing, and as the brothers began bickering again, you couldn’t help your grin looking at them, they were just so fun to be around, that soon you had forgotten your earlier embarrassment.
Unsurprisingly, the MacManus finished their drinks before you, and so Murphy went to the bar counter to order a couple more. The waitress was busy waiting tables, Murphy had been right when he told you that the pub was busier at the weekends, there was almost the double of people than you had seen before, and so the twins didn’t want to bother the waitress.
You looked at Murphy as he waited for Doc to get him the drinks, getting lost in thought again. You had tried to, but you couldn’t stop your mind from wandering to what Murphy thought of you, of this thing that seemed to be going between you and him, whatever it was

You heard Connor chuckling and when you looked at him you felt your cheeks heating up at his amused smirk.
“Do I wanna know what are ye thinkin’ lookin’ at my brother like that
or don’t I?” He teased you, arching an eyebrow.
“Nothing,” you murmured, looking down, and judging by Connor’s chuckle, he didn’t believe you.
“He’s been all corny and givin’ ye the heart eyes since St. Patrick’s too, it’s made it easier to mess with him, gotta thank ye for that,” Connor chuckled again.
You felt as if your heart had done a summersault while butterflies decided to flutter in your belly
Murphy gave you the heart eyes? Really? Connor knew his twin, so it must be true, right? Unless Connor was just messing with you
it didn’t seem like so, though.
Connor looked at his brother, who was coming back with their drinks. “Don’t go breakin’ my brother’s heart, though, lass.” His voice let you know that he was joking, but anyway, you didn’t plan on doing that, you were more concerned about the opposite
still, the sight of Murphy’s grin as he sat down in front of you, had you smiling like an idiot again, despite the mess of feelings in your heart and the mess of thoughts in your head, despite any concern about what was going on between you and him.

How about... how do the brothers act around their crush?
This one was super sweet to write I- I love them 👉👈. Thank you for the ask! I hope you enjoy đŸ€žđŸ’•âœš
Pride
Lucifers crush is the absolute hardest to tell
To the untrained eyes and ears, it seems like he's just being himself, but to those who are close to him, it's a little obvious
Lucifer tends to be more caring in a loving way than in a strict, "do what I say" manner
It's less of "Go to bed so you can go to school and not disappoint Diavolo" and more of "Get some rest, it's not healthy for you to stay up so late."
He also tends to be a little more expressive near his crush
Lucifer's signature knowing smirk twists up a little higher, and his eyes glimmer with not only pride but a bit of satisfaction and compassion around them.
He makes sure to give them small compliments
Typically his pride wouldn't allow him to endorse others, but with them, oooh boy
He will let them know how they look ravishing in such a nonchalant way; it seems like it's nothing
But to him, it could be everything
Bonus: He stood up to Diavolo once for his crush. Sort of.
Diavolo had given them a list of tasks to do and Lucifer felt like it was a bit much
"My lord, do you really believe that some of these are the best idea?"
It wasn't much but lets just say that Satan and Mammon were near by and their jaws hit the floor.
Greed
A mess. He acts like an absolute MESS around them
When he's just walking down the hall, he's composed. All of a sudden, his crush walks by him and awakens this sense of "I must embarrass myself at all times around this person and then punch myself about it later."
He hypes himself up around his crush
"Hah, of course the GREAT MAMMON can open this jar for you! Bow down, little human. Revel in my strength!!" he struggles to open it a little as well
In more serious and personal moments, Mammon is very sweet
As sweet as he can get when he's still trying to aggressively deny ANY sort of feelings
"Don't ever doubt yourself. You're my human, which means you kick ass. I wouldn't pick a human that WASN'T a total badass. N-not that I particularly picked you out of a crowd- YOU FORCED ME INTO THIS."
Bonus: If Mammon has a touchy crush, he would absolutely melt into their hands as he aggressively blushes at them
They'd get close enough to play with his hair and he'd be jelly on the floor
Would get super sad if they left and forgot their hug because he got used to oh how soft they were
Envy
Leviathan tries the absolute hardest to hide it
Unless you count Mammon but come on, is he really trying?
Leviathan's biggest tell would be that he tries to share his otaku passions with his crush
Because if he likes them, they've gotta be into that kinda stuff, right!? They're definitely not a normie and would absolutely LOVE his Manga collection
Would play it off nearly as tsundere-esque as Mammon
"I've decided that you're really nice to me, so I'm going to let you come over today and play video games with me. I have a super special raid spot saved for the two of us!!"
He tries pretty hard to impress them with his vast knowledge on obscure animes and idols
Levi would be at his crush's beck and call
"I saw you called me, I was in a dungeon but I tried to finish it as fast as I could!! What did you need~?"
Definitely a blush-a-tron 3000
All of his crushes are anime characters! How does he deal with someone he likes IN REAL LIFE!?
I'll tell you how, he sticks his hand over his face and tries to freeze time with his super secret power that he has yet to unlock and probably never will.
Bonus: Leviathan tells Henry 2.0 about his crush every time he spends time with them
"They touched my hand Henry, they touched my hand!!" blushes just thinking about it.
Wrath
Satan is ✹gentle✹ with his crush.
He's pretty insecure about how intense his anger can be when it comes to people he doesn't want to hurt, especially if it's a human.
Satan will try to show them his softest side in hopes that when they meet his wrath, they can anchor onto the fact that he's not that bad
That being saaaaid, if he senses their discomfort whatsoever, he tries to put out the flames of rage that are constantly brewing inside of him
And then offer to take them to somewhere to hopefully make them feel better.
"You seem to be tense. How would you like to join me on a little excursion? We could go see the new art exhibit that just opened up."
If that doesn't work, he invites them to his room to drink tea and maybe just chat
If they're into reading, he'll offer to let them look at his collection and maybe even pick something to borrow.
Satan is also pretty playful with his crush
Sometimes he'll say something a little mean just to get a reaction out of them, then immediately reassure them to the max that he was messing around.
"And I should be seen in public with a human because?"
"Hey-!"
"I was kidding!" He'd chuckle, bringing a mischievous finger to rest on his lips, "I only wanted to see how you'd react. I'd love to go somewhere with you."
Bonus: Satan's best pranks are with his crush.
Satan would definitely catch feelings with someone that challenge his brain and make him think bigger. He'd fall for someone bold, adventurous, and smart.
So combining the two of them makes for some of the most CREATIVE pranks
"So you guys are telling me that you switched the body of Mammon and a random woman on the street and then made a bet with Asmo that he couldn't seduce said woman... who had Mammon in her body."
"Absolutely."
Lust
Asmodeus would make his crush so obvious that everyone just thought he was messing around
He'd shower his crush in praise all the time
"Look at you! So beautiful!"
"Tell me, doll, have I ever let you know that your face is so symmetrical? Oh and your nose is so cute!~"
But oh, he gets f l u s t e r e d by them
If they compliment him back, he'll have a brief moment to blush and try to recover immediately
I feel like Asmodeus isn't as narcissistic as he leads on, like part of it is an act. Honestly, he might even be a little bit insecure about a few things so he buffs up his narcissism to distract from it.
That being said, he probably doesn't buff his narcissism around his crush that often
He puts the focus on them
Tries his best to listen to absolutely everything they have to say
Will make sure that they know he's always going to be there
Bonus: Asmodeus will always dress up his crush when he gets the chance to be absolutely stunning, but then gets really jealous when they go out and people start staring.
"Ah! It seems like they're admiring my work a little too much! I think if these dogs aren't put on leashes anytime soon, I might just have to take you back home. You wouldn't mind some alone time with Asmo, would you?~" The last sentence slips his lips in a very smooth and almost sultry tone.
Gluttony
Beel is so fucking precious please lord save me from this puppy
He would talk a lot around his crush
Boy has so much to say, I'm telling you
He's just never found the person to listen
His crush would be THAT person
The rest of the brothers would watch like "What drugs did this guy take? He usually only opens his mouth to eat something or say he wants to eat something."
Beel would also be VERY protective around his crush. Nobody would say anything to them ever because Beel would be looming over their shoulder like "Say it and I eat you."
Bonus: Everyone talks about Beels s/o being an amazing chef but just imagine him falling for someone who can't cook?
Like even though the food is bad he will sit there and eat absolutely eVERYTHING THEY MAKE
Because hes supportive and just wants to make them smile
Sloth
A weird combination of flirty and shy
Sometimes Belphie will tease his crush a little like Satan would, making comments just to see their reaction
But Belphie would see how long it would take for them to catch it instead of immediately reassuring them
He would crush on someone who doesn't mind his lifestyle of napping a lot, taking things slow, and not really caring so he'd be comfortable with them
Sometimes if his crush was sweet to him he'd get a little blushy and shy
Bonus: Imagine Belphie with an insomniac crush who can't sleep at night and takes random naps during the day
They get really tired cause they couldnt sleep the night before and Belphie asks them to come nap with him
He'll get them a pillow and everything to help them sleep at night

I lunged out with my wooden sword, the tip cutting through the dummy’s throat, sending its head flying. I smiled at my work, thinking about the possible praise I would get from my trainer. Someone started clapping from behind me.
“What are you doing here Jungkook?” I said, walking towards the decapitated head of the dummy and picking it up. With all my strength, I threw it across to the nearest bin.
“Well you know, escaping classes and what not,” he said. I rolled my eyes. Typical.
“You do know these will be important once you’re the emperor, right?”
“I still have ages until I have to worry about that. Besides, don’t you want to
you know, get out of here for a bit?” he asked, looking around at the old training arena, “It smells in here.”
“True that,” I said, contemplating his idea, “You know what
why not? BUT, I get shouted at for ‘being a bad influence to you’, you will not get off easily.”
“Sure,” he said, grinning mischievously.
“Now help me with tidying up.”
“That’s not fair! You made this mess!” he pouted. You stopped for a moment to admire his expression, before looking away.
“But you,” I said, dragging out the u, “want to get out of here quickly.”
He sighed, walking over towards the rest of the equipment, grabbing it, “I could always go without you, or with my hyungs, you know.”
“We both know you would never.”
[
]
As soon as the dummies had been thrown out and the area cleaned, we made our way towards the stables. Technically, Jungkook wasn’t supposed to be here, so we couldn’t just ask Hoseok for the horses like we normally would. Instead, Jungkook was going to saddle them secretly, while I went to distract Hobi.
“HEY! HOBI OPPA!” I yelled out, waving furiously at him. Jungkook had already snuck to the other side, entering the stable from the back door.
“Hey Y/N! What are you doing here?” he asked, smiling at me.
“Well, I was bored so I decided to come here.”
Walking towards a bench, I sat down, patting the spot next to me. Maybe I did feel a bit bad for lying to him, but that could be worried about later.
“Jungkook’s in class, right?” he asked.
“Yeah, his classes are getting longer and longer every day. So, what have you been doing?”
“Oh, not much, just this and that. Oh, we got a new horse, did I tell you?”
“You did? Is it a he or a she?” I asked, genuinely interested. Horses were beautiful creatures, especially the royal steeds.
“A she. Her name is Snowy and she’s beautiful! If you want, I can show you right now?”
Shit, no Hobi. I appreciate it but please don’t.
“Ugh, maybe another day? I’m sure she still has to get used to everything. Wouldn’t want to disturb her now, would we?” I said, mentally slapping myself. Couldn’t I have come up with something better? I glanced around, focusing on my peripheral vision. I couldn’t see Jungkook anywhere, so he was still inside. I sighed internally, couldn’t that boy hurry up?
“Ah no, she’s the sweetest. She gets along really well with the others, even with Flare and you know how she is.”
“Yeah. But just to be safe, you know.”
“Sure
” Hoseok narrowed his eyes at you, but you smiled.
“How did your training go?”
“The usual, Taehyung managed to land himself detention once again, and I stayed back a bit to practice after that.”
“What did he do this time?” Hoseok said, shaking his head, a smile on his lips.
I laughed, replaying the scene in my head, “Well, the usual prank. This time, it was on the assistant trainer. It was hilarious, but no one was dumb enough to laugh.”
The image of the assistant, covered from head to toe in paint, flashed in front of my mind and I bit back another laugh.
At that moment, I saw a figure waving out of the corner of my eyes. Jungkook. Mission accomplished.
“Anyway, it was nice chatting and all, but I have to get back to my grandmother now. Thank you! I’ll see whether I can stop by later?”
“Sure,” he said, as I ran off to the back of the stable, waving at him until I wasn’t in sight anymore.
“
TELL JUNGKOOK THAT HE CAN’T SKIP CLASS FOREVER!” I heard Hoseok shout after me. He must have seen me glancing at the stable doors every now and then. I grinned at his words and shook my head, yelling back “I WILL!”
A second later, I reached the edge of the forest, where Jungkook was waiting for me.
“I’m supposed to tell you, from Hobi oppa, that you can’t continue to skip class,” I said, taking the reins, which he held out towards me.
“You have to be more subtle next time. I mean, if Hobi hyung can pick up on it, then anyone could.”
“Stop complaining,” I said, playfully hitting him on the shoulder, “I’ve been doing the same thing for years, and Hobi oppa and the rest of your hyungs are the only ones who ever pick up on it. By the way, why did you take so long? What the hell were you doing in there?”
“It’s not my fault that Fire over here was trying to bite off my finger!”
“You should have let her, you know how much she likes eating human parts. It would have made her happy,” I said, giving him a smile.
“Don’t you worry about my happiness, woman?”
“Nope.”
[...]
A long ride and a few close encounters with castle guards later, the rushing sound of the waterfall could be heard. The forest was teeming with life, like it always was. Birds were chirping happily, the leaves were rustling and every now and then, I could hear the sound of animals rushing around between the bushes.
As we got closer, the water splashing was more and more obvious and the air started to feel more humid.
“Y/N, look!” Jungkook said.
I turned around to look in the direction he was pointing to find the trees clearing up, revealing the waterfall we had been looking for.
“Woah! It’s not changed at all since the last time we were here,” I said, gaping at the beautiful sight. The fog started to get thicker, but still, it was beautiful.
“What did you expect to happen, for it to suddenly turn red?”
“You never know. Maybe someday one of you magicians decide red fits the landscape more?”
We dismounted the horses, tying them to nearby trees. The closer we walked, the louder the sound of the rushing water became. At some point, it started to be close to deafening, but neither of us cared. We walked to the side of the curtain of water and over a bridge.
The water was splattering me everywhere, but I didn’t notice too much. We kept on walking and soon we had reached the opening to a few dark caves. I took a torch from the wall and held it up for Jungkook to light. Immediately, the rush of cold air greeted me, as we walked further in, but I ignored it. A few moments later, we had reached our destination.
With a flick of Jungkook’s wrist, the lights in the small cave turned on. They were glittering in every different colour, creating a rainbow effect on the walls. A heap of blankets and books were piled in the corner, just like we had last left them.
I went over to them, while Jungkook unpacked the food which we had bought in village. The delicious scent of baked goods immediately filled the cave and I sighed in content. Quickly arranging the blankets, I grabbed a croissant from the basket and sat down in the fluffy haven. Jungkook plopped down next to me and I leant my head on his shoulder as we munched the food.
“I read that earthlings do similar things. They sit on a checked blanket and eat food like we are now, but I heard they do it on meadows or in a forest instead,” he said, staring into the distance.
“That’s boring! Why don’t they find more exciting places?”
“Dunno, but I think it’s interesting that they don’t,” he said.
I laughed. This was typical Jungkook. There was a comfortable silence, as we were both lost in our own thoughts.
“Kookie, what do you think will happen in the future?”
He didn’t reply for a while, thinking it through. “I’ll become emperor
probably marry some stupid whore my father wants me to marry, and die at some point I guess and you...”
My heart stung a bit, but I already knew what he said was true. There was no way he would ever fall for me.
“
you’ll become the best Valkyrie in the realm I bet!”
“As if!”
“Well, even if you don’t, as soon as I have the power to, I’ll appoint you head of the royal guard. This way we’ll never be apart.”
My cheeks felt warm and I turned my head to look at him, to find his eyes already on me.
---
TIME SKIP
I watched the scene unfold from afar, standing in the shadows opposite the small café. There he was, wearing normal clothes and working at a normal job, smiling at and interacting with normal people. With earthlings. Yet, as much as it was weird to me, I couldn't help but be happy for him. This was what he had longed for so many years.
Before he was banished, Jungkook had always been curious about the earth. He would read about it, the way things worked or the way people behaved, and then go rant about it to me. He had told me about how he found it fascinating and that one day, he would see it with his own eyes, regardless of whether he had permission or not.
Therefore it hadn't surprised me at all when his hyungs had informed me of his banishment. That couldn't be said about the people of Yinshratha however. It was the only topic talked about for days. No one had believed it at first, because Jungkook's father, the emperor, had always made sure that he was known to be 'an exceptionally well-behaved boy'. Any time we had gotten ourselves in trouble, his involvement was always kept quiet.
As a result, it had been a great shock for most people to find that Jungkook, their prince and the successor to the throne, had been caught returning from the earth. Going there without permission was a major crime, which was punishable by death. Normally, the emperor would have just kept it quiet, resorting to giving his son house arrest instead, but unfortunately, many people had witnessed Jungkook being dragged towards the palace. There wasn't much of a choice for the emperor after that, but to banish him. I hadn't seen my best friend since.
100 years had passed now, and every day, I had missed him. I had thought multiple times of just going to earth to find him, but the last words I had said to him before his banishment prevented me from doing so, along with my responsibilities as a Valkyrie.
A year ago, the emperor had declared war to a neighbouring realm, underestimating their power completely. Half of his troops, including most of my comrades, had been killed in the last battle, leaving the emperor no choice but to look for reinforcements where ever he could find them, which meant looking for banished folk. I had already found nearly all of them, the only one left now was Jungkook.
I had always doubted whether he would return when he was called, but instead of dwelling on it too much, I had pushed it to the back of my mind instead, focusing on tracking and finding the others.
Yet, as I watched him go about his business, serving customers in a small café, these doubts resurfaced. He seemed so happy, making me wonder whether I should really bother him with the news of his old home. As soon as I had registered what I was contemplating though, I shook the thoughts out of my head and moved out of my hiding spot. It was 16:50 now and the shop would be closing soon. I had already wasted enough time.
Silently, I entered the small shop, joining the shrinking line. There were people chatting happily everywhere, most of them were holding a weird rectangular thing in their hands and moving their thumbs over it quickly. In fact, there were multiple tables where all the people who sat there didn't talk to each other at all and just stared at their rectangles instead. How weird.
I looked to the front, where Jungkook was currently serving another customer. He was as handsome as ever, with his forehead showing underneath his hair, and his charming smile. There was that feeling in my stomach again, almost as if it had never disappeared and always been there. I was getting distracted again.
The line moved again and a while later, I was at the front.
"Good afternoon miss. Welcome to our café, what would...?" he trailed off, staring at me with wide eyes, "Y/N? What are you doing here?"
I knelt down in front of the counter, "Your highness."
There was a lot I would have given not to do it, but Vakyries who didn't kneel were often punished and even though I knew that Jungkook would never do anything of the kind, there was no telling who was watching.
The people in the café looked at me weirdly, while Jungkook's eyes widened, quickly telling me that there was no need to bow. I stood up slowly, "I have been sent by his majesty, the emperor-"
"Let's not talk about this here. Come with me," he cut in quickly, before more people could overhear and question my sanity, "Sejin, can you cover for me?"
I walked behind the counter and followed him into a back room. He pressed something rectangular, causing the room to suddenly be lit. A small table, surrounded by a few sofas was placed in the middle of it and there was a fireplace on the wall before the small setup. Additional tables lined the wall. He turned towards me, leaning against one of them, and smiled cheekily, "Since when have you called me 'your highness'?"
"It is required of all Valkyries to call all members of the royal family -"
"I've told you before that even after you finish your training, that you won't have to do that. It already gets annoying enough when everyone else does it, there is no need for you to do it too."
"Yes, your highness, but it's been a while since we've last talked," I replied. My thoughts strayed once again to the day we had last seen each other and I cringed internally. Clearing my throat, I said, "His majesty, the emperor -"
"I hereby command you to drop the 'your highness' bullshit and all that formality," he said, making me sigh with relief, "Now before you go on again about-" he imitated my voice in a ridiculous manner, for which I almost hit him with my bag and stopping myself at the very last second, " 'his majesty, the emperor-' I wanted to catch up. What have you been doing? How are you doing?"
"Jungkook, I- oh shut up," I said at his smirk. Only then realising what had slipped out, I quickly covered my mouth. 'Shut up' was not something I was allowed to say to the prince.
He laughed at my gesture, shaking his head, "Seriously, you've changed. When have you ever cared about this stuff? You used to hit me with a ruler and tell me to shut up for no apparent reason all the time."
"I was a kid back then! And you definitely deserved it. Your status was really getting to you," I said, smiling feebly at the old memories of us running through the beautiful meadows and laughing. Immediately, an image of the battle flashed before me, making me drop it instantly.
"Jungkook, listen. I was sent here to inform you that your banishment has been lifted," I said, " His majesty declared war to Hanashem and unfortunately, their forces are stronger than was anticipated. He sent all of the elites in, but- but most of us didn't make it. He's afraid of losing this war, with the majority of us gone." The images of the battle scene were there again, haunting me as they had done in the past few weeks.
"He...what?" Jungkook said, his voice laced with hatred, "How could he have been so careless to send you in? And what the hell happened to the 'realm of peace'."
"Please Jungkook, I know you hate him, but the realm needs you. Your hyungs need you. I need you," I pleaded, images of my dead comrades were now flashing before my eyes, "Please. Please come back."
The next thing I knew, arms were wrapping themselves around me, enclosing me in a comforting hug. Butterflies were gathering themselves in my stomach again, but I ignored them, subconsciously leaning into the embrace, forgetting the principles which had been drilled into me completely and any will that I had had in the last few years to get over Jungkook.
"Of course I'll come," I heard him whisper as he stroked my hair softly, "It's going to be okay."
We stayed like that for a while until he spoke again, "There's something that I've been meaning to talk to you about."
He pulled away, looking me in the eye. I had an inkling of what he wanted to say. This was something I had been dreading for a while. I had kept the thought at the very back of my mind, but it was always there.
"Did you mean what you said to me in the last few moments before I was banished?"
There it was. The words I had dreaded. If I told him the truth, would it affect his behaviour around me? I knew it would because there was no way he felt the same. I was just his best friend, nothing more.
But I couldn't lie to him: he always knew when I wasn't telling the truth, not to mention, however close we had once been, I would be lying to the prince, a member of the royal family, which was something not to be done.
I hesitated, avoiding his gaze, before bringing the words out, "I did."
"Do you still feel that way?"
"It doesn't matter, I-"
"Do you?" he persisted.
I sighed heavily, "I do, but I can get over it. I -"
But I never got to finish my sentence. I felt his lips moving against mine, carefully but passionately at the same time. My heart pounded loudly in my chest and I felt my knees going weaker and weaker. Heat rose from my stomach upwards and I felt the butterflies fluttering around. Was this a dream? If it was, it was one I didn't want to wake up from.
As we pulled apart, both gasping for breath, I could only stare at him, wide-eyed.
"Did you expect me not to fall for you when you were, and still are, so perfect all the time?" he whispered.
A/N: This was written a long time ago on wattpad. I like to think that my writing’s evolved since then, which is why I will make time to edit in sometime in the near future.

Ethan sat in his gaming chair in front of his monitors spinning side to side as he read the chat that was gliding up one of his screens.
“Spidie-cents, thank you for the bits!” He calls, eyes still following the words coming in.
He’d had an average day, nothing too outstanding and interesting about it. So why not spice things up with a surprise stream?
“When am I playing Among Us again? I don’t know. Hopefully sometime soon. I’ve been trying to get a lobby going with Seán, Corpse, Chris, and the rest of the usual bunch.”
He takes a sip of his water and checks his phone real quick. Nothing. He sighs and sets it back on the table, looking up at the chat.
“Are me and Y/N dating?”
Ethan becomes visibly uncomfortable at the question. “Uh, no. We just live together. Not dating.”
Chat goes wild, teasing him and asking a thousand more questions.
Ethan struggles with reading while the chat is going so fast. Only making out different ship names and heart emotes.
“Guys. Guys. Calm down. I can’t read chat.”
There’s a soft knock on his recording room door. “Yeah?” Ethan calls out. You step in, looking slightly shy and nervous. The stream can’t see you, which your thankful for. But they can see the way Ethan is looking at you. Smiling with loving eyes and excitement running through him.
“Hey, what’s up?”
“Oh, am I interrupting?” You ask, concerned.
“Oh. No, your fine. What do you need?” He reassures
“Well, I was gonna see if - when your stream ends - you would want to come play some Mario Kart with me? And maybe order some takeout?” You’re fidgeting with your hands, trying to maintain eye contact.
Ethan smiles warmly and nods enthusiastically. “Yes! Totally. I’m ending my stream in about an hour,” he checks his phone for the time, “is that okay?”
You grin. “It’s perfect. Thank you. I can’t wait.”
Ethan expresses the same feelings before you both say goodbye and you leave the room, giddily preparing to order food.
✩ ✩ ✩
Ethan comes downstairs after his stream, excited for a game night with you.
You’re sitting on the couch, scrolling through your phone. You’re wearing a pair of dark grey sweatpants that you might or might not have stolen from Ethan, a black spaghetti strap shirt, and a silver chain necklace Ethan had gotten you for your birthday last year.
He smiles at the memory of you opening the box he’d been holding behind his back, gasping and giggling and completely at a loss for words.
You struggled for a few minutes trying to find a way and thank him for such a beautiful piece of jewelry.
You look up from your phone and smile wide. “Hey,” you greet, “whatcha smiling about?”
Ethan looks into your eyes. “Nothing, just thinking about your birthday present I got you.”
You absentmindedly reach for the chain resting on your chest and play with it, smiling.
“Thank you, again.”
He shakes his head, grinning, and saunters over to the couch. Ethan flops down beside you, placing his arm behind your shoulders on the back of the couch.
He slides down slightly, spreading his knees and rubbing a thumb on your shoulder bone opposite him.
Chills cover your body at every little gesture Ethan does. Especially the way his arm is around you and his thigh is pressed flat against yours. Your cheeks heat up and you pretend to focus on your phone.
“U-uh the food should be here soon. In ten minutes maybe,” you look over at Ethan.
He looks back at you, a goofy smile on his face. “Nice,” he squeezes your body against his with his arm and rests the side of his head on top of yours.
You start to get ready for a round of Mario Kart, choosing your characters and load outs and then moving on to which cup you should play.
“What cup do you wanna play?” You look over to Ethan.
“Well, I believe there’s only one good answer - the greatest cup out of the entire game.”
“The Star Cup.”
“The Bell Cup.”
You both blurt at the same time.
“What?” You ask incredulously.
“Star Cup?!” Ethan looks at you, shocked.
“What do you mean ‘Star Cup’? It’s the best one! It’s got Dolphin Shoals - which is hands down the best map in the game, Mount Wario, and Sunshine Airport. That’s the big three all in one cup!” You flop your hand to your thighs for dramatic effect.
“No. No. No. No. See, I hate to break it to you - but that’s where you’re wrong.”
You raise a questioning eyebrow and cross your arms over your chest.
“The best map on the game is Wild Woods, but the rest of the maps on the Crossing Cup suck. So that leaves Ribbon Road, Super Bell Subway, and Big Blue which are a trifecta of greatness.”
You shake your head. Before you can retort - there’s a knock on the door. The food has arrived. You thank the delivery person and grab the food, taking it to the living room and sorting out your’s and Ethan’s food.
“At least we can agree that Bowser’s Castle is the absolute worst,” you say, setting Ethan’s box in front of him. He nods his head, agreeing.
“Yes. Definitely.”
You both decide on Ethan’s Bell Cup first, eating your food and goofing the whole time.
✩ ✩ ✩
Halfway through the night Ethan realizes that he’s losing. In a desperate attempt to redeem himself; he snakes an arm around you and begins to tickle your side.
You jolt upward, almost throwing your controller while trying to fight him off.
“E-Ethan!” You cackle. “St-op!”
While you’re distracted, Ethan manages to send a blue shell your way and slowly crawl his way up to first.
You press the pause button and catch your breath. You both set your controllers on the coffee table and look at each other.
You’re panting and smiling at the goofy man next to you. “That... was so... unfair,” you accuse breathlessly.
“You never told me to play fair,” Ethan states like the five year old he is, smiling like a dork.
You roll your eyes and get up to throw your box of food away. Before you can get to it, there’s a hand gently in yours, pulling you towards him.
You crash into Ethan’s lap, giggling. “Lemme put my food in the trash,” you look up at him.
“In a minute,” Ethan looks down at you, pulling you closer to his chest - hugging you. You bury your face into his shirt, inhaling his scent. Your body relaxes into him and you smile to yourself.
This is all you could ever want in life. You and Ethan, holding each other, at peace. Then reality sets in. And you realize that you couldn’t be truly happy like this. Just friends.
All this is - is one friend holding another friend. And that’s all it’ll ever be. No ‘I love You’s. No kisses. No holding each other in bed every night. Just friends being friends.
You feel tears welling in your eyes and you try and hold them back but before you can Ethan pulls back to look at your face, smiling.
His face falls at the sight of yours, being replaced by fear and concern.
“Hey. Hey, what’s wrong? Did I do something?” He grabs your face, looking into your eyes.
A tear slips down your cheek and you shake you head but Ethan knows better. “No. Talk to me. What’s wrong?” He asks again.
You take a deep breath and move his hands from your face. “I—” you start but decide against it. Having no idea how to tell him. And do you really want to ruin your friendship?
Ethan’s eyes plead with you and there’s no way you can refuse him.
“It’s just,” you take a deep breath. “I don’t think I can do this,” you admit gently.
“Do what?” Ethan asks, concerned.
“Be just friends with you. It hurts too much to keep going,” another tear slips out. “I see you every day and I’m filled with this overwhelming sense of loss. And the pain in my chest everytime you look at me is so overbearing and I can’t keep putting myself through this every single day,” you look away from him, closing your eyes tight.
“Especially when I know you don’t feel the same. That’s the worst part about it, Eef. Knowing you’ll never feel the same,” you collapse into his chest, crying.
Ethan places a hand on your back, moving the other to the base of your skull and kisses the top you your head.
“Hey,” he says, softly. “Look at me.”
You look into his eyes, your own red and puffy.
“Who said I’d never feel the same?”
“What?” Your face contorts in confusion.
“Y/N, I’ve felt that exact way about you for so long. You have no idea...”
Your heart melts and you smile. “Really?” You wipe a tear from your cheek.
Ethan uses his thumb to wipe away your other tears and smiles. “Yes. Really.”
He slowly starts to lean in and you grin. “I think I do have an idea of what it was like.”
Your lips connect and move together in a sweet dance of love and tender longing.
You pull away and giggle, pressing your forehead against his.
You wrap your arms around his neck and pull him to the side, laying with him on the couch. You kiss him for longer this time with more intent.
“Can I go throw away my food now?” You almost whisper.
“As long as you take mine with you.”

<< 04. Bonding | 06. The Interview >>
Tumblr media
Pepper suggested another working dinner at some restaurant she really liked. I was running on fumes as it was, but the main courses hadn’t even been served yet and I was a whiskey deep already. I wasn’t going to complain. My PA/CEO was throwing figures and jargon around like it really mattered to me. I raised my empty glass to a passing waiter, signaling that I wanted another, asap. Pep would do what was best for the company, she lived for this business shit. Enjoying the vicious boardroom environment and off-hand threats passed around by old men who thought they could cow her into some kinda weak position. I just wanted people to be straightforward with me, was that too much to ask for?
As my second whiskey on an empty stomach arrived, Peter started calling me. I downed the amber liquid and excused myself.
“What’s up, kid?" I leaned against the bar, earpiece always in and phone in my hand, flicking through Instagram. Steve posted another self-defense video on his IGTV.
"Hey Mr. Stark, sorry if I'm interrupting you. You know how you said I should take snack breaks during my patrols so I'm not hangry when I get home?"
"Yeah
?" I looked back over to the table where our food had arrived. I was getting hangry.
"So I was doing that, eating my pb&j after dropping a mugger off at a police station, and I checked my phone." It sounded like he still had peanut butter spread across the roof of his mouth.
"Is there a point, kid?"
"Yeah, actually, I need to ask you a favor."
"Did you get arrested again?" I asked, not trying to hide the smile from my voice.
"One time, Mr. Stark, that was one time!" Peter exclaimed, he was probably waving his arms about, all riled up. "I need you to do a search on my cousin's phone."
"Why? Is she okay?" My mind started going a mile a minute thinking about what could have possibly happened to you in just a week. I started pulling up the GPS tracking.
"Yes, well no, she's kinda going 2007 Britney right now and posting it on her Instagram stories. I don't know where she is, but I know she's gonna end up getting herself in trouble."
What the fuck could you possibly be doing? Also, why the fuck did I not know about it?
Peter gave me your number, but I had JARVIS already doing a track on your phone the moment he'd made the request. You were about a five-minute flight away. Why were you so far from campus this late?
"I'll pick her up Petey, she's close to where I am now."
"Thank you, Mr. Stark, tell her to text me when you get her. Oh, there's a car thief, I gotta go."
I walked back over to Pepper and picked up a grilled parsnip wedge from my plate.
"I gotta run, hero stuff, make good choices, dinners on me, get dessert," I spoke between shoving bites of root vegetable into my mouth.
"Isn't it always?" Pepper gave me a look over her glass of wine and I ignored it.
My fingers rose in a mock salute and I snagged a carrot off my plate. I was out the door and my suit expanded from my bracelets in seconds.
What is going on sweetheart?
Tumblr media
A deep lungful of paint fumes filled my chest and clouded my useless, treacherous mind. I peeled the stencil off the grimy brick wall and outlined the message bubble with dark blue spray paint. I stared at the grotesque series of chat messages interspersed with freehand portraits of Nathan's stupid face.
The rattle of empty cans in my backpack distracted me from the sounds of passing cars, shouting people, and my sobbing. I pulled out the light blue color and shook the can before starting a new chat bubble for the last message. The last message I ever wanted to see from that fucking cunt ever again. The series of hateful messages that started me on this spiral three days ago.
Fuck off and die whore.
Someone was trying to talk behind me. They were calling my name, trying to get my attention, but I was too busy ripping the final stencil off the wall and throwing the empty can of spray paint at it. When a hand landed on my shoulder I whirled around,off-balance, blurry-eyed, and fists flying.
"Woah, watch the face Sweetheart."
Tony. Oh god, it's Tony. Why couldn't it have been the cops? I could handle being arrested, I couldn't handle him seeing me like this. This walking shell of a person who was good for nothing but being fucked in the ass by a boy who didn't love me. A boy who said showing me affection was a chore. A boy who said no one would love me.
"Sorry," I pulled back, putting distance between me and the superhero.
"Peter said you were having a Britney level breakdown," he looked down at the pile of torn stencils and long, sloppy line of graffiti.
"I'm just working through some stuff," I shrugged and wiped the stupid fat tears from my eyes.
"I can see that," Tony looked at the final message and his features darkened for a long moment. For the first time, I was scared of him. "When did you last get any sleep?"
I looked at my phone, ignoring the number of texts and missed calls from Peter and Aunt May. It was half-past 10 on a Tuesday night. I had been awake now for almost 80 hours.
"I took a nap on Saturday afternoon for a few hours," I mumbled, avoiding eye contact, shame and disgust churned in my gut causing bile to rise in my throat.
"Jesus, Baby," he scrubbed his hand over his clean-shaven face and looked at me. "Go wait over there for me."
He pointed to the far end of the parking lot where only one security light lit the massive waste of space. I walked over to the lamp post and squatted down under the halogen glow. The stretch burned my tired, overworked muscles, pulled at the bandages that covered the tops of my thighs, and made me feel something other than hollow. I needed to feel something right now. Tony calling me baby didn't even register in my mind. I was so out of it and tired and dead.
God, my celebrity crush is seeing just what a fucking psychotic bitch I am.
"Okay, let's go," Tony was in the Iron Man suit. I blinked up at him, trying to figure out where he'd been hiding that giant thing. He must have thought I wasn't moving fast enough because he scooped me up. I felt the cold, hard metal finger dig into my skin just shy of being painful.
There was no warning. One second I was trying to explain that I was too heavy and needed to be put down, the next I was clinging to a red and gold faceplate for dear life as the city began to shrink underneath me. We flew hard and fast around glass buildings, the tears on my face dried up quickly. Under any other circumstance, this probably would have been the funnest, coolest thing of my entire life. I loved things like this, looking down at the ant-sized people, watching the world whoosh by me, and the pure adrenaline rush of it all.
The landing onto what I could only guess was Tony’s balcony was swift, probably practiced numerous times after successful flights and missions. Did he take a plane anywhere now that he was Iron Man? Maybe anytime he went anywhere he just had the suit take him. He gingerly placed me on my feet then guided me by the shoulders inside.
“Where does the suit keep going?” I demanded, feeling warm hands on me instead of cold metal. “Does it just fly away when you want it to?”
“No, it just retracts,” Tony sounded annoyed, but that didn’t seem to shut my mouth.
“That doesn’t make sense? That thing is huge, it's gotta be hiding in this insane balcony.” I turned to look for it only finding a massive pool glowing and waving against the side window. “That’s not even fair.”
“You can take a swim later, right now,” automatic doors whooshed open and soft light illuminated a huge open plan kitchen and living room with walls that clearly drew in just like the design of the tower outside. “You are going to shower off that paint smell, then sleep at least eight hours.”
“Heh, is good joke,” why was I Russian now? “Sleep is for the weak.”
I was shoved into another huge space, this time a bathroom with a separate shower and tub. What the heck was with that? A towel that looked more expensive than my entire wardrobe was thread through a heated rack. I knew it was heated because I touched it.
“Stop, don’t burn yourself. Stand right here, and I will be back with some kind of pajamas. You know what, text Peter,” Tony threw that last command over his shoulder as he disappeared through the second door in the bathroom.
“What kinda bathroom has two doors?” I muttered, pulling out my phone, frowning at it.
“Text him before he has a heart attack.” Tony tapped on my screen.
“He’s just gonna say ‘I told you so’ and be smug and I can’t deal with that right now,” I pouted, forcing the corners of my face further down.
“Jay, tell Pete she’s here and safe.”
“Certainly, Sir,” the British computer confirmed.
“Okay, that’s done. Now there is shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and probably whatever else you may need in the shower or this cabinet,” he opened up a cupboard disguised as a full-length mirror.
“Ugh, I look gross,” I pushed my nose flat against my face.
“No, Sweetheart, you are just tired. Get moving, I’ll be in the other room if you need me.”
Tony dashed out of the room, closing the door firmly behind him. I turned on the sleek chrome shower and jumped when icy water started to spray in all directions. I set down the clothes Tony gave me, absentmindedly thinking they’d never fit me and that this was all just some kind of cruel joke. I tried again to adjust the shower, but I couldn’t get it to just be a regular shower.
“Mr. JARVIS, I can’t figure out the shower,” I wanted to cry, but my eyes were too sore to produce any more tears. This was so stupid, just like me.
“Here, Miss, allow me,” the computer adjusted the setting somehow, and soon steam filled the bathroom.
“Thank you,” I murmured, slowly easing my clothes off my body, laying my glasses next to them.
For as fast as the logical part of me wanted to be done with this, the stupid part of me wanted to savor this moment for all it was worth.
I.
Was.
In.
Tony Stark's.
Penthouse.
The creepy fucker inside me really hoped these bottles of soap were the ones he used because he smelled good every damn time I saw him. So much better than all the Axe and Old Spice the people I went to school with wore. Better than the shitty wintergreen scent that Nathan wore. Christ, I hated how he smelled. The way it seeped into everything he touched, how my sheets would reek of it after he’d make his hasty exit from my house.
I poured the shampoo into my palm and scrubbed my scalp, feeling how the soap didn’t lather like it should. I hadn’t showered since
Friday maybe? God, I was a mess. I did a second wash and then used too much conditioner than probably necessary before I washed my body. Band-aids were peeled back easily to reveal more sloppy lines. Why did I keep doing that to myself? When they wouldn’t stick back down, a bolt of panic shot through me.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck,” I muttered, trying to find a surface to put them on until I was done. Was there even a fucking trash can here?
The shower went a lot quicker after that. I scrubbed my hands with a loofah, only for flecks of paint to get stuck to it no matter how long I rinsed it out.
“Shit, shit, shit.”
I rinsed the conditioner out next, feeling how slick and soft it made my hair feel. If Tony used this on his hair, he would definitely have some luscious locks. I spun lightly to turn off the shower and nearly fell on my ass.
 “Jesus, Mary, Joseph.”
This was definitely God punishing me for being a creep.
I got out of the shower and sighed into the heavenly feeling towel. The soft, warm fabric absorbed the last droplets of water quickly before I wrapped the towel around my hair. Semi blind, I opened the gross mirror cupboard and looked for some new bandaids, but found none. My fingers prodded the soft flesh of my legs, right on top of the scabs. They didn’t move or crack, so as long as I didn’t scratch them, I should be fine.
I pulled on the clothes Tony had given me, surprised they fit, let alone were somehow loose on my frame. I stared at my reflection in the mirror, removing the towel from my head and putting my glasses on. My hands met in front of my face, fingers pressed to my lips while I prayed for enough strength to get me to Peter’s room to sleep. The dirty clothes I had been wearing were gathered up, careful to tuck my bra and underwear between my shirt and joggers. I took another deep breath and stepped out of the bathroom.
“Why have you dressed me like Slim Shady?” I stared at the back of Tony’s head, clothes clutched my chest.
“Look, the only sweatpants and t-shirt I own are from the 2000s. That was just the style then,” he turned around and smirked at the oversized clothes on my body.
“Style is a strong word to use,” I shuffled further into his living room, rubbing my eyes. “I look like a runaway And One model.”
“You wanna talk about what started your spiral, Britney?”
“No, not really, I’d much rather just watch Parks ‘n’ Rec til I pass out,” I stood in front of the plush sectional.
“I’m not gonna say you need to talk to me about it, but you should probably talk to someone about it,” Tony patted the seat next to him and picked up the remote.
I don’t know what I was thinking, honestly. I should have gone down to Peter’s room, crawled into that empty bed, put on the TV, and passed right the fuck out. But instead, I dropped my clothes at my feet and sat down next to Tony. He pulled up Netflix and I suggested an episode with a thumbnail I recognized, not really paying attention to which one it was. At some point during the episode, my head landed on his shoulder and his arm fell around me. I was sucked into the warmth of his body next to mine, muddling my tired mind. There was a faint smell of alcohol on his breath, but there was no glass or bottle around where I could see. I must have interrupted his evening.
“I’m sorry,” I mumbled.
“Don’t be, Sweetheart,” he squeezed my side lightly, not taking his eyes off Ron Swanson.
More episodes played, and as April was saying her vows to Andy, I felt the tears start to fall down my face. It was stupid, I shouldn’t be crying. I was happy they were together, they were the perfect pair. It wasn’t like I wanted to get married anyway. Even before Nathan, I was set on a life of freedom and being my own woman. What had broken inside of me to believe I still had that with him?
“Do you think broken things get a happy ending?”
The words tumbled out my mouth, out of my control. I refused to look away from the screen. Are you still watching “Parks and Recreation”? I couldn’t even tell you how many episodes we’d watched. We didn’t move to click continue or stop the show. It just hovered there, both of us frozen by fumbling, teary-eyed language.
“Yeah, Baby, we do,” Tony’s hushed tone washed over me, coating my restless brain in honeyed words and hope, slowing down my thoughts if only for a moment.
Another episode was put on, but I don’t remember what happened. I passed out before the opening theme song finished.

swim captain (chapter three)
pairing: bang chan x reader
genre: angst
warnings: mentions of possible sexual assault, mentions of slight violence
word count: 3.2k
a/n: look at me posting kinda consistently and shit
Tumblr media
chan watched as you left the building with jaemin and his friends, head flooding with thoughts of you and his realization.
since when did he like you like that? he’s known you for years, why now was he falling for you? why not last year when he didn’t know who to ask to the dance or earlier this year when he needed a plus one to an important swim meet? you ended up going as minho’s date to both of those things, and chan had ended up taking some random girl.
but it didn’t matter, he couldn’t have asked you to those things as anything more than a friend anyway. whether he fell for you now or a year ago or any time, he needed to cut it out.
it felt inappropriate to have feelings for you. you were the manager of a team that he was captain of and there was a feeling of responsibility that came along with both of those positions. and even if that didn’t matter, how was he supposed to know if you thought of him any different than you thought of the rest of the boys? if anything, you seemed less interested in him than any of the other boys. he probably got one hug for every five the others got, ten if it was hyunjin or minho.
he was sure you saw him as a brother. a good friend, and that was all. you obviously didn’t see him as anything else, or you wouldn’t have left with jaemin. but that was fine, because it would be inappropriate if you did. it was inappropriate that he did.
he tried to think back and figure out when his feelings changed. he couldn’t pinpoint anything specific that would have changed the way he feels towards you, but it made sense of things. like why he had been extra focused on you the past weeks and why minho’s actions were bugging him now, even though they were the same as always. he was forced out of his train of thought when someone called his name.
“chan, you coming?” changbin called from a few feet away, the boys already heading for the door, which chan failed to realize as he was caught up in his own thoughts.
“yeah,” he began, “uh, yeah, sorry.”
he figured it best to go with the boys. they would offer some sort of distraction from the fact that you were with jaemin at that moment, and a bunch of his friends. plus, he had made a point of expressing that he was going out in his attempt to get you to stay with your team and not leave with NCT, so it would look weird if he didn’t go now.
the boys piled into felix’s car. his family had came to the meet and drove his car along with another one, leaving his since they knew the boys would want to hang out after the meet. all of the boys fit in the large crossover, but it was definitely not legal to have that many people packed into one vehicle.
finally deciding on a small ice cream shop, felix pulled into the small parking lot and shut off the car. the boys immediately stormed out of the car and into the diner.
after ordering their ice cream and sitting down, the 8 of them began to chat about the days events. chan didn’t bother to tune in much. that is, until he heard a certain subject being discussed.
“he seemed pretty nice,” seungmin joked, “you know, for someone from NCT.”
“no joke. and he’s pretty, too.” added changbin.
“hey,” felix began, “you trying to steal y/n’s man?”
chan interrupted the bantering, “what about that guy came off as nice to you guys? he was creepy! like, who walks up to a stranger and asks them to leave late at night with them and their friends? that’s weird!” he paused, “and he didn’t even acknowledge that we were there! isn’t he supposed to get, like, permission or something?”
“permission? yeah, from her dad, not her 8 annoying best friends, dumbass.” hyunjin responded.
“seriously, how are you guys so chill about this? we don’t know the kid or anyone on his team.”
“y/n’s a big girl, chan, she can handle herself.”
“against a group of that many guys?” chan scoffed, “yeah right.”
“chan, why are you automatically assuming they’re going to hurt her?”
“why are you assuming they’re not?”
“i don’t know, maybe because there’s no history of NCT being a bad school? maybe because none of those boys have a record?”
“they’re top athletes, hyunjin, you really fucking think the school would let that type of shit on a public record if anything happened? and risk their reputation?”
hyunjin let out an unamused laugh, “we’re top athletes too, chan.” he gestured to everyone around the table, “we have clean records.”
“yeah, clean as long as minho’s assault charge stays expunged.”
he mumbled, pushing his chair back and standing up, headed for the door.
minho stood up with him, moving to grab his arm and stop him from leaving, “are you forgetting i caught that charge defending y/n?”
chan shrugged his shoulders, pulling his arm from minho’s grip and continuing his path to the door, “it’s just an example, minho.”
“how are you gonna get home?” felix called before he could leave.
without turning around, chan responded, “i’ll figure it out.”
and the door shut behind him.
the 7 boys looked at each other, felix practically pulling minho back to his seat to stop him from following chan out the door. that was expected, minho was a hothead, but chan was usually calm and practical, even when upset. and he knew better than to make a scene in public.
“jesus,” jisung laughed, “he flops one race and he turns into a 2 year old having a tantrum.”
“yeah,” minho let out a scoff that the rest of the boys played off as a laugh, “because it’s race he’s pissy about.”
Tumblr media
meanwhile, you were sat inside of a fast food restaurant surrounded by a group of curious boys.
“stray kids, huh? aren’t you going to get, like, guillotined for conversing with your enemies?” a boy, who jaemin had identified as lucas, joked.
you laughed, “nah, we keep the competition in the water.”
“tell that to that one guy, he seemed like he didn’t get that memo.” spoke another one of jaemin’s teammates, one you couldn’t remember the name of.
you cocked your head to the side in confusion, and he continued.
“blonde, curly hair. bang, maybe?”
“oh, chan!” he’s just upset about his race, i think.”
“whatever his name is, he’s scary.” spoke the boy you think introduced himself as jeno.
“yeah,” jaemin chuckled, “honestly, i thought i was gonna get my shit rocked. like maybe i’d asked his girlfriend out or something.”
you blushed, letting out a surprised laugh “girlfriend?”
did it really seem like you and chan might be a couple? did chan really seem jealous that jaemin asked you to hang out? you felt butterflies in your stomach at the idea. despite being out on a ‘date’ with jaemin and surrounded by his attractive friends, you still found yourself feeling weaker at the thought of chan than any of the boys around you at that moment.
“yeah, he did not look like he liked the idea of me asking you out, to be honest.”
you didn’t think it was possible, but your face reddened even more. before you could respond that chan was just always super protective of his team, your phone went off, signaling that you’d gotten a text message.
you held your phone up, “speak of the devil.”
channie: hey, let me know when you get home safe, yeah??
you smiled at the message, typing a quick reply.
y/n: gotcha
chan’s message reminded you that it was indeed a school night, and that you should probably head home. you slid your phone back in your pocket and turned to jaemin.
“hey, i should get going, there’s school tomorrow. see you around?”
jaemin shot you a big smile, pulling his phone from his pocket and holding it out for you.
“i would love to see you around. i’ll text you?” he questioned, to which you responded with a smile, taking the device from his hand.
you typed your number into jaemin’s phone, sending yourself a message from it so you would have his number, too.
“need a ride home?”
“no, thank you,” you replied, “i’ll call a cab or something, you stay and have fun. thanks, though!”
you called for a taxi and send a quick message to chan.
y/n: just called a taxi. on my way home.
channie: he isn’t giving you a ride?
y/n: i didn’t want one
chan, sitting in the backseat of his own cab, felt his stomach drop.
channie: did something happen? are you okay?
y/n: i’m fine, just didn’t wanna make them leave just because i wanted to head home.
chan relaxed into his seat.
y/n: how about you guys? headed home soon?
channie: i am. i’m not sure about the others.
y/n: ?
channie: i left early
y/n: still upset about the race?
chan sighed just as the taxi pulled into his driveway. he stepped out, handing a wad of cash to the driver and telling him to keep the change.
he stepped into his house and headed straight to his bedroom, falling onto his mattress. he stared at your message for a few seconds before replying.
channie: something like that.
y/n: it was probably just an off day, don’t beat yourself up about it!
chan looked at your message and tossed his phone on the bed beside him, pulling an arm over his face and groaning in frustration. he was worn out from the day, not even having the energy to shower the chlorine off of himself, he decided he was just going to go to sleep as soon as possible. just as he was nearly dozed off, his phone let out a ding.
y/n: home safe and sound! night, chan
he didn’t bother typing a reply, letting himself fall into a restless sleep.
Tumblr media
chan woke the next morning sporting the same outfit as the day before. he grabbed for his phone to check the time, having a mini heart attack when realizing he only had 40 minutes to shower, get ready, eat, and drive to school.
he jumped up, grabbing a random assortment of clothes and headed to the bathroom. he hissed when he got into the shower and felt his skin burn, it was cracking from not having the chlorine washed off of it from the night before.
he and the rest of the boys always had cracked knuckles and chapped lips from being in chlorine so much, but it got significantly worse when the chlorine didn’t get washed off as soon as possible.
he hurried to ready himself before jumping into his car without eating anything. if he wanted to get to school on time, he’d have to skip breakfast.
chan arrived in the school with five minutes to spare, which wasn’t a completely unusual amount of time, just a bit less than he would usually like. heading to his locker, he caught sight of you standing in front of your own, staring down at your phone. he offered a small “hey” as he walked past you and opened his locker.
upon noticing him, you shut your phone off and shoved it into your back pocket.
he looked from you to his locker, speaking as he focused on putting what he needed for the day in his bag.
“have fun last night?”
“yeah! the NCT boys are super nice. you guys would love them!”
“yeah,” chan mumbled, “i’m sure i would.”
with that, you walked past him and towards your first hour class, playfully shoving him as you passed him. it earned you a small smile, and that was enough to make you think his mood from the night before had improved, but he still felt the same cloud of confusion and frustration as he watched you walk down the hallway. he hated himself for thinking it, but just for a small second, he wondered if maybe it would be easier if something had happened and you didn’t like jaemin and his friends.
you and chan didn’t share any morning classes, so he wasn’t able to see you again until lunch, and that was probably good. he decided it would be best to attempt to shove his emotions as far down as possible and act as normal around you as he could, hoping maybe the feelings would go away as quickly as they had came.
because of this, he made no attempt to sit by you at lunch, but tried to converse with you normally, just as the other boys did. just like he did before he realized his feelings towards you. the boys were making it very difficult for him to keep his calm, though, when they wouldn’t leave the topic of you and jaemin alone.
“so, y/n,” jisung teased, “you gonna leave us for NCT and your hot new boy toy?”
you threw a fry from your plate at him with a laugh, “he is not my ‘boy toy’ jisung, he’s my friend. plus, i’d never leave you guys.”
“even if NCT beats us in competition again?” minho pouted.
you smiled at the boy sat across from you on the table, leaning down to rest your elbows on the table as you spoke, “even if they beat us in comp this year.”
minho smiled at you from across the table, eyes glancing over to chan seated beside him for a moment before focusing back on you.
it was obvious to minho that chan had feelings for you, and vice versa. how no one else had caught on he had no clue.
minho thought of himself as a good friend. good friends help their friends out, and even though maybe the idea of pissing chan off after the shot he’d thrown at minho the night before could have been enough for minho to pull a stunt, it did help that good could come out of it. after all, maybe a little jealousy was the shove chan needed to finally ask you out.
minho decided that since chan wasn’t even looking at you, choosing to stare down at his food instead, he would make him look at you.
he reached cross the table and ruffled your hair, “that’s my girl.”
he snuck another glance at chan. it was apparent that although he hadn’t been looking at you, he was listening to what was happening. his head had slightly raised and his eyes were locked onto minho.
deciding to push his friends buttons a bit more, minho locked eyes with chan and cocked his head, pulling a painfully obvious fake look of concern, “you look grumpy, bud, what’s up?”
chan forced an equally fake smile back, sitting up straight and dropping his fork onto his lunch tray with a loud clang.
“just tired.”
minho hummed in response, barely acknowledging chan’s response before turning back to you.
“y/n, i gotta go to the library before lunch ends. come with?”
you nodded, not having caught on to the tension between minho and chan. it wasn’t hard to miss, especially when no one else at the table was paying it any attention either.
“actually, minho.” chan stood from his seat and placed a hand on minho’s shoulder, “coach wanted to see you. you know, about your race yesterday.”
minho raised an eyebrow, “can’t he talk to me at practice?”
“nope,” chan offered no further explanation before grabbing his tray and heading to dump it in the trash. he motioned minho to follow him, “let’s go.”
minho jogged to catch up with chan as he lead them both to an empty hallway.
“isn’t coaches office that way?” minho gestured in the opposite direction.
chan scoffed, “you know damn well that was an excuse. come on dude, stop fucking with me.”
minho raised his eyebrows, feigning innocence, “what do you mean?”
“oh my god minho, you know what i mean.”
minho shrugged, “clearly not. why else would i be asking?”
“because you’re a fucking prick.” chan muttered.
he sighed, running a hand down his face and taking a deep breath, “i know you know i like her, okay? i mean,” he put his hands up and mimicked quotation marks, “‘i would never do that to you.’” he let his hands fall to his side, “you knew before i did. so stop being an asshole. i can’t make the stupid crush go away if i’m pissed off 24-fucking-7 because you’re hitting on her.”
chan ran his hands through his hair. he’d never even admitted it to himself out loud before. this was the first time he’d heard himself say it out loud. he didn’t know if saying it out loud or telling someone would help, but minho obviously already knew. there was no harm in admitting something to someone who knew before you did.
“chan, this is how me and the rest of the boys have always been around her. like yeah, i’ve amped it up a bit recently so you’d finally get it through your thick fucking skull that you’re in love with her and i’ll calm it down again when you’ve stopped being a pussy, but it’s not something that’s going completely away. not from me, not from any of the boys, and honestly dude, probably not from jaemin. you can’t expect her to stop having fun with her friends simply because you’re crushing on her. not even when you’re dating her.” he paused before continuing, “if you end up dating her. jaemin seems to have more balls than you.”
chan groaned, “i know, minho.”
“then make a move.”
“i’m not making a move.”
minho frowned, “what? why not?”
“i’m just not, minho.” his words came out harsher than he’d intended, “but can you please just stop? just until i can shake these stupid fucking feelings, then you can go back to trying to get into her pants.”
minho shoved him, “if i wanted into y/n’s pants, i’d be in them.” he nudged chan again, “but seriously dude, why shake reciprocated feelings?”
chan finally brought his eyes to meet minho’s again, “what?”
minho feigned confusion, “what?”
“repeat that.”
“repeat what?”
“the thing you said about feelings.”
“oh,” minho began, “i said why shake the feelings?”
“that’s not what you said.”
minho frowned, “i’m pretty sure that’s what i said.”
“no,” chan pressed, “you added another word. what did you say?”
minho shook his head, pretending to think about it. “no, i think that’s like word for word what i said.”
chan shoved him, “minho, seriously, what did you say?”
instead of a proper response, minho looked towards the ceiling of the school. he’d given chan enough advice for the day.
“i think that was the bell. i gotta go. see you at practice!”
“minho!” chan yelled as minho jogged down the hallway. the bell had most definitely not sounded, “asshole.”

PART 8 | HEY NEIGHBOR MASTERLIST
The lobby of Stark Industries is bright and almost blinding compared to the dull grey that looms over the city outside. To make matters worse, the sky would darken into a deep black in just a few hours, a depressing casualty of setting the clocks back.
It was mid-November with winter closing in. You bundle up your coat, adjusting your scarf before daring to step outside. You were having a conversation with Steve, or at least you thought you were.
“He’s been like this all day,” Mr. Lee said, laughing as a confused Steve finally picked his head up from his phone.
Steve apologized as his cheeks turned pink, again. He was texting Peggy and he just couldn’t help the way he felt about her. They had gone on a few dates since they met on Halloween weekend and Steve was one-hundred percent smitten.
“Well anyway, I have to head to Metro-Gen now so you boys have a good afternoon,” you said, saluting them before stepping outside.
Your internship was going well. It had only been a few months but you were very comfortable working in this type of environment. You were familiar with the hospital and some of the ER staff other than Sam. You assisted Elena with her cases and tried not to forget everything you’ve ever learned while under pressure. It was scary but exciting and most of all you were happy to provide assistance and care to those that needed it.
When the weekend finally came you were thrilled to finish up your hours at the hospital. You were cold and tired, and really wanted to take off your bra immediately. Wanda was coming over which was rare since she and Sam became official. Any time he had off they tried to spend together and you understood it, especially with the hours required for his job but you really missed her and were happy to finally hang out after so long.
“So you seriously can’t eat this?” you said, taking a hefty dip of guacamole onto your chip.
“Uh yes I can bitch, don’t hog all the guacamole,” Wanda joked, pushing you aside as she grabbed the dish for herself. “I just can’t eat the chips.”
Wanda was always trying new diets, not that she ever needed to be on one. She was doing the Keto diet now and while you applauded her commitment you could never give up carbs like that.
She sat cross legged on your couch, moving her fork around her bowl absentmindedly as she worked up the courage to speak. “So I wanted to ask you something
”
A pang of anxiety hit your stomach as it tends to do whenever someone says those words, but you tried to remain neutral, wondering what Wanda was going to say.
“I know we usually have Thanksgiving together but Sam happened to be off this year and I know it’s really soon but he invited me for dinner at his parents’ house and I haven’t said yes yet because I wanted to speak with you first because I know it’s our tradition to do something together but– ”
“Wanda!” You had to shout her name so she could stop and take a breath. You smiled at her, letting her know you were okay with her having Thanksgiving with Sam. “I’m really happy for you,” you said against her ear as she leaned over to hug you.
That night you thought about Wanda and Steve, how they both got into a relationship on Halloween. Meanwhile, the only thing you got that night was a blister on your heel.
Tumblr media
“Hey neighbor.”
Bucky’s voice echoed from down the hall as he stepped out of the elevator, seeing you locking your door, with a laundry bag at your feet.
With everyone’s new relationships and Natasha prepping for a case no one has gone out since Halloween and things definitely felt a little weird.
“Hey,” you replied shakily, offering an awkward smile in return.
The truth was you were still upset with Bucky on Halloween. Well, not just you but the whole group. It had been weighing on you each day that passed without seeing him. The closer Bucky got to you and his door, the more nervous you felt and you really wanted to get this off your chest.
“Bucky
sorry this is out of the blue but
” You chewed on your lip trying to figure out exactly what to say.
His brows knit together. “Is everything alright?”
You forced a tense smile, wishing you hadn’t said anything in the first place, especially with the way concern filled those ocean blue eyes of his.
“Yeah I just
” With another big sigh you pushed the words out. “I thought it was kind of rude for you to ditch everyone on Halloween without saying goodbye. I know we’re not that close and you don’t owe me or anyone an explanation for wanting to leave or whatever but I don’t know, I just
 needed to say that.”
Your lips pressed together firmly, feeling your heart pound rapidly against your chest as you waited to face whatever backlash there was after sharing your feelings.
Bucky sighed, letting his shoulders slump down. “I’m sorry Y/N. Honestly, that’s not how I wanted that night to end. But you were talking with that guy so I didn’t want to interrupt anything and everyone else had each other so I thought I’d do my own thing.”
“Guy? What guy?” You wondered out loud. When Bucky described him you realized he was talking about Bruce. “You thought something was going on with me and that guy? No, no. He’s a friend from work, just a friend.”
“Shit. I’m sorry. I didn’t want to block
 anything
just in case.” Bucky chuckled, flashing his bright teeth as he smiled. “Still that was a dick move of me so I’m sorry.”
You accepted Bucky’s apology, feeling a little better about why he left the way he did. It didn’t mean he wouldn’t have left with that girl anyway, not that you care, because you don’t. Although now that most of your friends were in relationships you were feeling a little envious. It’s not that you didn’t want to date but you were too focused on work and school at the moment.
“Well I guess I’ll see you later,” you said, picking up your laundry bag.
“Wait!”
Throughout your conversation one thing stuck out the most in Bucky’s mind, when you said you weren’t close. He really thought you were and he’s not sure why it affected him so much but he wanted to change that and make it right.
You’ve definitely become a good friend of his even if you hadn’t gotten off on the right foot. And maybe he’s been a little busy lately, he hasn’t kept up on the group chat and didn’t think about how his lack of communication impacted anyone else. You were his friend, and so were Steve, Sam, Natasha, Clint and Wanda. He wanted to do better and be there for everyone so he might as well start now.
“If you wouldn’t mind the company I actually need to do my laundry too.”
There wasn’t any hesitation as you nodded back to him, your lips pulling into a smile that grew wider when he returned one of his own. Bucky took a few minutes to gather his laundry and together you walked a few blocks to the laundromat.
It wasn’t too crowded for a Sunday afternoon which was a pleasant surprise so the machines were pretty available. Bucky shared his detergent with you which was kind, saving your quarters from buying the single use packs the shop offered.
You sat beside him on uncomfortable chairs, bouncing your leg to keep warm as you shivered. There was some heat circulating through the room, a muggy wet heat that poured out every time someone opened the machines to check on their still damp clothes. Bucky was a good distraction, keeping you focused on your conversation as you caught up on what’s been going on in your lives.
“Thanksgiving’s going to be a little weird this year with Wanda and Steve doing their own thing but it’s alright.”
Bucky heard the disappointment you tried to hide in your tone but your face didn’t mask the emotions as well. He listened as you explained this was your tradition since you moved to New York. Since you couldn’t afford to fly home for both Thanksgiving and the holidays you had to choose, and so every year you spent the day with friends.
“Why don’t you spend it with me?” he asked, watching as the corner of your mouth slowly began to turn upwards into a smile.
“With you? You don’t go to your parent’s house?”
Bucky’s expression softened, “Normally I do but this year they’re flying out to spend Thanksgiving weekend with Rebecca.”
“Where does she live again?”
“It’s ‘they’ and Arizona.” Bucky rubbed the chill from his arms despite wearing a jacket. “Kinda wish I was there right now,” he chuckled.
The machines shook for their final spin cycle and you and Bucky got up in preparation to grab your clothes.
“You didn’t want to go with them?” you wondered.
“I’ve got a lot to work on plus I’ll see Bex soon, they usually come in for Christmas. So
is that a yes? I know I’m not Wanda or Steve but I’m still your friend.”
Bucky’s expression was hopeful as he awaited your answer. A beaming smile spread across your face as you replied, “Yes. I’d love to have Thanksgiving with you!”
Tumblr media
If you looked at Bucky’s browser history over the last few weeks you would find a lot of food related searches: How to cook a turkey, how long to cook a turkey, how to cook a turkey fast, easiest way to cook a turkey, simple Thanksgiving dinner, Thanksgiving for 2, best Thanksgiving sides.
He wanted to make your Thanksgiving special but truthfully Bucky wasn’t the best in the kitchen. He could cook a few things but the idea of making a full Thanksgiving dinner was daunting and he couldn’t exactly ask his mother for help.
Since it was going to be just the two of you he finally found his answer– Thanksgiving dinner on a sheet pan. Bucky wrote out the list of groceries he needed, making sure he had everything needed so he could prepare the dinner.
You were working a full day at the hospital so Bucky had extra time to prepare for your arrival. His clothes were folded neatly, placed in his drawers that could now actually close. He made his bed, well he made sure the pillows were straight and draped his comforter over everything neatly. His instruments were gathered together neatly beside his desk and he made sure his bathroom was clean. Bucky spritzed his cologne in the air for good measure to make sure everything smelled nice.
Once that was done it finally dawned on him that he didn’t have a table. “Good job Barnes,” he scolded himself as he cleared away the last remaining clutter on the trunk that served as his coffee table. It would have to make do.
Bucky opened the package he bought at the store, a harvest themed tablecloth that was entirely too big for the trunk but with a few extra folds he made it look alright. It was an extra touch he hoped you would be happy to see. Checking his phone Bucky began to prepare the food, hoping to time it right for when you were coming by.
Tumblr media
“No, no, no,” you cried, passing another bakery that was sold out of pies.
You hadn’t planned this properly. Not one bit. With Bucky preparing dinner you offered to bring the dessert and for some reason you thought making pumpkin pie from scratch would be easy. You were very wrong.
By the time you got home last night you were too exhausted to even look at the recipe. You needed sleep and had no shame in going to bed pretty much right away. The fact that it gets dark before five o’clock definitely helped you justify your early bedtime.
The genius idea you had was to wake up a little early so you could make the pie crust which might have worked out if you hadn’t overslept. Yes, despite the extra sleep you got your body wanted more.
Although you made it to work on time you ruined any shot at trying to snag a pie from any bakery along the way. Now you were headed home, defeated and upset with yourself for ruining Thanksgiving.
You trudged through the hallway, sighing heavily as you stood outside of Bucky’s apartment. Your knuckles rapped against the door, waiting for him to answer. Bucky pulled open the door with a smile that dropped the moment he saw your face.
“Y/N, is everything okay?” His hand came upon your shoulder as he offered comfort.
With another deep sigh you shook your head, “No
well yes.” You reconsidered your words, not wanting to worry him. “I ruined Thanksgiving.”
His mouth opened but Bucky didn’t speak, silently wondering why you think you’ve ruined something that hasn’t happened yet.
“I said I would bring dessert and I wanted to bake but I was too exhausted, so I thought I’d get something from the store but everything was sold out and now I feel like a shitty friend.”
Bucky couldn’t help but smile at the way you pouted so seriously over something as insignificant as dessert.
“Hey, c’mere,” he said, opening his arms. You rested your head against Bucky’s chest wrapping your arms around him as he rubbed circles on your back through your jacket. “You didn’t ruin anything, doll, I promise.”
With a few more reassurances from Bucky you pulled away from his embrace, feeling a little better even if part of you was still disappointed. You told him you would be over in a few minutes, desperate to change your clothes.
Bucky’s door was unlocked and you let yourself in, now wearing a loose sweater and black leggings that would allow you to feel comfortable as you stuffed your face, and casual slip-ons your feet thanked you for. Bucky was equally casual, in a dark grey t-shirt and black jeans so you didn’t feel bad for underdressing.
You stepped inside seeing the coffee table set up in a themed tablecloth and a scented pumpkin candle that smelled delicious as it spread throughout the room.
“Dinner should be ready in a minute or so. Can I get you something to drink?” he asked as you set your bag down beside the couch.
“Wine, I guess?” You weren’t really picky to be honest, happily taking the glass of Pinot Noir as Bucky poured for you and himself.
Bucky barely had a chance to take a sip before the alarm on his phone was going off, his reminder to take the food out of the oven.
“I hope this is okay,” he said, pulling out the sheet pan of turkey breasts surrounded by stuffing, green beans and sweet potatoes.
Your mouth was watering as you inhaled the enticing aroma. “Mmmm it looks delicious. Do you need any help?”
Bucky shook his head, telling you to relax. It was hard, because even though you were still pretty tired from the day you felt like you should be doing more than sipping wine on his couch. You stared at Bucky as he stood in the kitchen, dividing the food amongst two plates.
The muscles of his back were entrancing to watch as they moved beneath his shirt. Dropping your gaze you couldn’t help but stare at the way his jeans hugged his butt.
“You like what you see?”
Bucky’s voice seemingly came out of nowhere as you hadn’t realized he was looking over his shoulder.
“What? No, I’m
tired and stuck in a comfortable stare,” you laughed quickly, masking the awkwardness of definitely getting caught staring at his ass.
Bucky chuckled under his breath. He placed both dishes down, proud of the work he had done. Pressing his lips together Bucky had hope written across his face as he waited for your reaction.
Your hand came up to cover your mouth as you tried to chew fast enough so you could tell him how delicious it was. A smile stretched across his face, happy that he made you happy, and then Bucky began to dig in.
There wasn’t much to watch after deciding to skip over all the football games and sitcom reruns but choosing from Netflix wasn’t much better. There were a dozen cheesy, romantic Christmas movies but neither of you wanted to watch any of those.
“Oh how about this?” Bucky asked as he flashed by Nailed It! Your eyes lit up with delight as you nodded your head. If there was one show that made you feel better about your baking skills it was watching these hilarious disasters.
Bucky had the cutest laugh. The sound itself wasn’t anything out of the ordinary but the way that his whole face lit up while he was laughing. The joy reached his eyes first with crinkles pulling at the corners, his nose scrunched up reminding you of a bunny, and that smile
Bucky had one of the nicest smiles you’d ever seen because it had the power to make your own greater just by looking at it.
You were crying with laughter as the contestants revealed their cakes, each one somehow more horrifying than the last. By the third episode you found yourself comfortably resting your head against Bucky. It was nice to have someone to hang out with like this again especially since Steve had rightfully been spending most of his free time with Peggy.
“I hope you don’t get your baking skills from this show. Maybe it’s a good thing you didn’t make pie,” Bucky teased. Your immediate response was to playfully smack his leg. “Ow I’m kidding!”
“It would have been good, a thousand times better than this,” you gestured towards the screen.
Bucky cocked his head to face you. “So let’s make it now.”
Your head shook rejecting his suggestion. “It takes too long. The dough needs to rest for a while after you mix it and I don’t want to eat pie at two in the morning. Not when I have to get up early again.”
With another day off from Stark Industries you’d be spending a full day at the hospital, trying to chip away at all those hours you needed to do.
“It’s still early, we can make something right? Cookies? Is that the same dough?” Bucky asked, because even though you had to be up early he still wanted to spend time with you and he could also go for dessert.
“It’s not exactly the same but I have all the ingredients. Do you want to make cookies?”
Bucky’s stomach rumbled as if on cue making both of you laugh.
Since it was easier to bake in your apartment you helped Bucky clean up the dishes you made in his, feeling it was rude to leave things a mess. Bucky didn’t want you to clean but you at least insisted on rinsing the plates clean and since you were at the sink anyway you ended up washing most of them.
You didn’t see the way Bucky smiled while watching you. This was probably the only time he’s felt comfortable having a woman linger in his apartment. His flings all begged to draw out their time, promising him pancakes or the best eggs and bacon he’s ever had. As hard as they tried, he shut them all down ushering them out quickly but things with you were different. You were friends and closer than he would ever be to any of the random names in his phone.
In your apartment Bucky helped gather the ingredients needed. Counter space and New York didn’t exactly go together, not in your price range, but together you cleared space on your kitchen table and set everything up there.
Bucky ignored his phone that rang as he cracked eggs into the large bowl you were using to mix everything together in. He picked up the bag of chocolate chips pouring a generous amount in the dough, not that you minded; the more chocolate the better!
Together you scooped up balls of dough onto a baking sheet and placed them in the oven.
“Bucky!” You turned to find him swiping his finger through the bowl of raw dough and eating it.
“What?”
“You can’t eat that you’ll get sick!” you protested, taking the bowl away from him and washing it before he could risk his chance of getting E. coli any further.
He sucked his finger into his mouth, smiling, “No one has ever gotten sick from eating raw cookie dough.” His comment had you look back, blinking in silence. “Okay well I’m sure someone has but it’s never happened to me.”
“I want you to enjoy these cookies Bucky, not vomit all over the place.”
He brought over the rest of the bowls that needed to be washed, this time taking over and returning the favor since you washed his dishes. “You mean you wouldn’t take care of me if I got sick?” He pouted, tilting his head and raising his eyebrows.
“Not a chance,” you said teasingly, unable to hold back your smile.
Checking your phone you pulled out the cookies just in time for them to be crisp and chewy. After letting them cool you let Bucky take the first bite this time, watching as his eyes rolled back as he let a sinful moan slip.
“So fucking good. You’re amazing.”
This isn’t the first time you’d heard similar praise coming from Bucky, and combined with the orgasmic look on his face it made you turn away with embarrassment, now having a visual of what things might be like at night on the side of the wall. You grabbed a cookie to distract your mind, biting into buttery perfection with a massive amount of chocolate thanks to Bucky’s heavy hand.
“Thanks for a great Thanksgiving Bucky. Tonight was awesome,” you said, kissing him on the cheek before wrapping your arms around him.
“You’re welcome Y/N,” he murmured against you, squeezing back a little tighter, both of you now aware of the friendly kiss you had given him.
Bucky left with a dish containing most of the cookies at your insistence. He couldn’t help but eat a few more when he was back in his apartment. Before getting into bed Bucky listened to the voicemail he received earlier.
“Hi James, it’s Mom. We missed you tonight. I don't know why your deadline was on a holiday but I hope you finished everything. I set aside some leftovers in case you wanted to come over tomorrow. Call me back. I love you.”

Chapter 21
Tumblr media
 May 2020
“So this,” Frank held up the item in his hand, showing it to Alex, “is a fuel pipe. Without this the engine gets no food. Something you should be able to relate to.”
Alex’s response was another loud gabble as he looked at his dad from his vantage point, sat in his little bouncer which placed on the deck of the boat to Frank’s left.
“Exactly, no food, no go.” Frank nodded, as he reached into the space, ducking down to get a closer look. He clamped the line into place before he shuffled out and stood up, grabbing a rag to wipe his hands on as Alex peered up at him, his arms and legs waggling as he gave another shriek. “Yup, I reckon you’re right, Son. Time to give it a try.”
Checking that his hands and arms were clean enough, he unclipped Alex’s straps and gently placed him on his hip as he strode to the front of the boat, jangling the keys in his spare hand. Alex reached for them, making a cooing noise of interest and for a moment Frank let the baby curl his hand round the metal before hastily moving them away as Alex went to shove them in his mouth. As the baby let out a noise of protest, Frank jiggled him a little before successfully distracting him by holding him up above his head, bringing him down quickly to blow a raspberry on his cheek.  With his son held safely against him with one arm, he stuck the keys in the ignition with his other and gave them a turn, letting out a triumphant noise as the engine fired up.
“I am a genius.” Frank looked down at Alex who beamed back, shrieking and Frank chuckled, kissing the tiny boy’s rosy cheek before he turned the key to cut the engine.
“You got it working, I see!”
Frank turned to see Fliss’ head appear over the side of the boat as she climbed the small set of ladders by the side and he grinned as she hopped onto the deck.
“Yup. Fuel line was blocked. Replaced it and bingo.” He dropped a kiss to her cheek as she gently brushed her hand over Alex’s head as he was now fisting his little hands into Frank’s rather grubby t-shirt. “He helped.”
“That right? You been helping your Daddy, Bean?” She beamed and Alex let out another string of nonsensical babble and she grinned, before she looked at Frank. “You’re filthy.”
Frank looked at his T-shirt before he bit his lip. “Shit, I didn’t realise. Here.” He made to pass Alex over but Fliss shook her head, frowning.
“Frank, it’s a bit of dirt, not like he’s eating it is he?” She looked at him, before she smirked. “Besides, that’s not why I mentioned it.”
Frank arched his eyebrow as she bit her lip, scanning him up and down, her eyes lingering on his tatty jeans for a second before she shook her head and looked back at his face.
“Down girl.” He quipped and she laughed.
“I’m just gonna sort his dinner, want me to take him?”
“Yeah, I’m done out here for the night.” Frank looked at her, passing Alex over. “I’ll just lock the garage up and be right in. You riding tonight?”
“No, I snuck in a quick one at lunchtime on Cap. Alex was down for his nap so I took advantage, parked him in the office and left him to it. Slept right through.”
“Yeah, we kinda lucked out a little with him there didn’t we?” Frank smiled. “He’s nothing like Mary, she was a pain in the ass to get to sleep. Still is.”
“Well, with a bit of luck he’ll go down easy tonight.” Fliss smiled, before she looked at Frank, a dirty little grin on her face. “Then so can you.”
“Oooh, Miss Gallagher you filthy, little minx.” Frank’s mouth curled up at one side as she laughed before she stood on her toes to give him a quick kiss.
“Glad to see you’re no longer cranky, Frankie.”
“I was not cranky.”
“Sailor, you exploded at Mary when she knocked a glass of water over.” Fliss looked at him, her face soft. “I’ve never seen you blow like that, Baby. Not over something so trivial.”
“In my defense, I had told her three times to stop messing around.”
“I know.” Fliss cocked her head to one side. “Just isn’t like you, that’s all.”
Frank dropped his head, letting out a heavy sigh, he knew shew as right. Work had really been stressing him out recently and unfortunately he’d taken it out on the very people he didn’t want to.
“I’m sorry.” He wrinkled his nose and Fliss shook her head.
“It’s fine, no lasting harm done.” With that she kissed him again and Frank’s hand giving her ass a quick squeeze as she turned to leave.
“Hey, can you manage?” He asked as he watched her grip the side of the steps in one hand, Alex held in her other arm.
“Yeah, I got it.” She made her way slowly down, before hitting the floor of the garage. “Don’t be too long, Sailor.”
“Like I said, locking up and be right in.” He smiled, watching her make her way out, chatting away to Alex as she went, Thor trotting at her heels.
Frank climbed down himself and then checked around the garage and workshop area, making sure his power tools were locked away before his eyes fell over the little shelf he’d made out of a piece of driftwood as a surprise for Fliss. She’d picked up Heidi’s ashes a week ago, which had been another tearful morning as she’d broken down again when she’d picked up the sleek, mahogany box with her beloved mare’s name engraved on the lid. The box was currently sat on her desk in the office at the stables, Fliss saying she didn’t really want it in the house as the yard had been Heidi’s home so she needed to be there. Later that evening, Frank and Mary had taken Thor down to the beach to collect some driftwood for their fire pit and they’d stumbled upon a particularly large, gnarled piece. Frank had instantly been struck with the idea to craft it into a shelf for Fliss, thinking it would make a nice feature upon which she could lay Heidi to rest for good, and the finished article was quite nice, even if he did say so himself. He’d managed to keep the character of it nicely, the edges remained rustic and the entire thing had come up beautifully when he’d applied the final coat of varnish the previous evening.
The builders had been there all afternoon, marking out the areas where the expansion to the yard was due to start on Monday, so he supposed tonight was as good a time as any to give it to her, to apologise for being so bad tempered over the last few weeks, and celebrate the launch of a new opportunity for her business in one go. He could put it up for her tomorrow when she decided where she wanted it to go. Tucking it under one arm, he stepped out of the garage, pulled the up and over door down before locking it and heading into the house.
Fliss was currently warming something up for Alex to eat and she turned to face him, frowning as she saw the shelf under his arm.
“What’s that?” She asked.
“It’s a shelf.” He smiled, setting it down on the kitchen island.
“Frank, it’s gorgeous!” Fliss smiled, her fingers trailing over the surface of it. “Did you make it?”
“I did.” He nodded. “Out of a piece of driftwood. I thought it would look nice in your office, somewhere for you to put Heidi.”
At his words she stilled, her head shooting up to look at him and she blinked as her eyes welled with tears. She glanced back down, before she looked up at him, and gave him a huge smile. “Oh, Frankie. I love it. Thank you so much.”
Frank smiled and opened his arms, and she moved round to fall into them, resting her cheek on his shirt. His large hands gently rubbed at her back as she sniffed and he dropped a kiss to her head. “You’re welcome, Sweetheart.”
“You’re so thoughtful.” She let out a little choked sob and Frank chuckled.
“I try.” He looked down, his hands cupping her face as he wiped away her tears, dropping a kiss to her lips. “If you decide where you want it I’ll put it up for you tomorrow.”
“I already know exactly where it’s going.” She smiled. “Could you move the one above my desk to the back wall and put that in its place? I want her right up there where she’s in prime position.”
“Sure, not a problem.” He assured her, giving her another kiss. “Was Mary okay when you dropped her at Roberta’s? She wasn’t upset or-“
“Upset, no. Raging about you being a, and I quote, ‘miserable, bad-tempered douchebag’, yes.”
Frank snorted and took a deep breath. “I’ll apologise tomorrow.”
“Don’t worry about it, I told her to cut you some slack. She gets it. I said you’d pick her up on the way back from the airport tomorrow morning. Everyone will be arriving for her party at one so she needs to be back here by at least midday. Roberta said she’d come too, give us a hand setting up.”
“Is there much to set up?” Frank asked. “I mean there’s only five of them coming.”
“Seven if you count the twins.” Fliss corrected. “But no, not really. Food is simple, just need to throw it on the grill. Mum’s got the cake done, snacks are sorted
just a case of setting the table outside and the music and stuff.”
“You know I think she’s more excited for the party than she was for her actual birthday.” Frank mused as Fliss pulled Alex’s dinner out of the microwave.
“Well, it’s her first party.” Fliss smiled, giving the cauliflower and haddock puree a stir.
“Yeah, I never thought I’d see the day she asked for one.” Frank continued to ponder, taking the dish that Fliss handed him, before he pulled a face looking at it. “This looks disgusting.”
“Well I’m not asking you to eat it.” Fliss narrowed her eyes at him and Frank raised his eyebrows.
“Good job.”
“Keep talking, Sailor and you’ll be wearing it.”
He gave a laugh, before he moved and sat down on the stool next to Alex’s high chair as the baby made grabby hands for the dish, noises of approval escaping his mouth as Frank held out the first spoonful to him. Fliss watched them for a moment before she smiled, and moved behind Frank, dropping a kiss to his cheek.
“I’ll ring our order through for dinner, you fancy Thai or Italian tonight?”
“You choose.” Frank replied, his concentration fully on feeding his son and Fliss squeezed his shoulders, before she picked up her phone and rang the Thai place, knowing full well Frank would prefer that, even though she was in the mood for Italian.
*****
For the first time in weeks, Frank felt fully relaxed that evening. He wasn’t going into the shop that weekend, having put his foot down and said not a chance given it was Mary’s party. They’d eaten a fabulous take-out, drank a few beers and now they were sat together in his favourite place, outside in their garden around the fire pit, under the stars whilst their son was sleeping soundly upstairs.
“You know, I do love how it sometimes burns blue.” Fliss smiled as she snuggled further into him.
“Yeah, it’s to do with the salt, I think.” Frank shrugged, his fingers tracing shapes on her upper arm. ”Sure Mary would be able to tell you if you asked her.”
“Sure she would.” Fliss chuckled. “Along with a detailed explanation of exactly what chemical compounds are involved, or the fact that the moon being in a certain position to Venus means it glows a different shade of blue or some other random shit like that
” Frank burst out laughing, pulling her closer. “I don’t know how she remembers half the shit she does.”
“Diane was the same.” Frank mused. “A goldmine for trivia. She was great for Quiz Nights.”
“You do it too.” Fliss sat up and looked at him.
“I don’t.”
“You so do.” She scoffed.
“Not as bad as Mary.”
“Hmm, hey, maybe that’s what we need to do next time they have a Quiz at Ferg’s. Smuggle Mary in and hide her under the table.”
“I doubt she’d stay there.” Frank pulled a face and Fliss shoved him in his chest, causing him to snigger again.
“Dick!”
“Don’t pretend you don’t love it, Sweetheart.” He winked as he dropped a kiss to her lips.
“I love you.” She muttered against his mouth.
“Yeah?”
“Yup.”
“How much?”
Biting her lip she arched her eyebrow and snatched his beer off him, placing it on the table along with her glass of wine before she moved, straddling him, her bare thighs falling either side of his. Bending down she kissed him deeply, his arms wrapping around her, pulling her in closer. He let his lips dance across hers before she pulled back a little, looking at him.
“That much.”
“Yeah, not sure I got it
” He chuckled, pulling her back to him as he kissed her again, this time only parting when her hands wrapped in the bottom of his t-shirt, tugging at it until he moved to allow her to drag it off. He took advantage of the moment, dragging her cami over her top, letting out a soft groan as the sight of her bare in front of him. He dropped his head, kissing and nuzzling at her breasts, Fliss’ fingers digging into his hair to hold him close.
“Got it now?” She grinned as she pushed down, rubbing her sleep short clad core into his groin, making him hiss at the feeling, his dick growing hard through the constraints of the sweats he was wearing.
“Not quite
”  He teased, nipping at her neck. Fliss giggled as he went back to her breasts, hands cupping them, squeezing gently before his mouth gently covered a nipple. As he gently flicked the hardening nub with his tongue she gave a little squeak of delight.
“I mean
If you really don’t get it, Adler
” she panted out slightly, “then maybe you’re not as smart as I thought.”
“Well, you always tell my brains are in my dick.” He growled a bit, giving her chest a gentle bite, and Fliss arched herself into his mouth, hissing at the way the slight pain and pleasure mixed. His arm tightening around her, Frank lifted them both up off the cushion to lay her down on her back on the outside couch and took a chance to look over her, his eyes traveling down her bare torso, before his mouth followed suit, his beard scratching her skin slightly, mouth cooling the delectable burn as he went.
Fliss rolled herself up into him, enjoying the feel of his relatively firm torso against the softness of hers, allowing herself to get lost in the feeling as she bit her lip and tipped her head back against the arm of the wicker sofa, enjoying being in her man’s care. Frank’s gently gripped at the sleep shorts she was wearing, before he slipped them down her toned legs before he pushed his sweats down, kicking them to the floor.
He moved to a kneel, one hand gently hooking Fliss’ left leg up to rest against the back of the couch, her other leg falling automatically to the floor, toes pressing onto the smooth sandstone flags, leg bent at the knee. Frank took another moment to look at her as his hands rubbed against her inner thighs, taking her in from her toned shoulders and arms, right down to the gently curve of her hips. There wasn’t a single bit of this woman that he wasn’t achingly in love with.
Sliding his hands up and around, he gripped at those hips and shifted her slightly making sure she was where he wanted her.
“You know, Frank
” Fliss, looked up at him, and her deep brown eyes flashed in amusement, as she watched her fiance appreciate her body, and she could feel a flush rising pink up her neck, into her cheeks. The way he looked at her, like she was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen still made her a little bashful at times. “If brains were dynamite, then, you wouldn’t have enough to blow your pants off.”
“Oh, really?” Frank leaned forward, kissing her lips, and down her neck as she laughed, his fingers drifting along her curves till they dipped between her spread thighs and slipped along her folds, causing her got gasp. “Never heard you complain before.” He braced a hand next to her head, as she starting to wriggle from where expert fingers teased her slick. “Quite the opposite, in fact.”
“Shut up
” She groaned as she arched up into him, pushing against his hand.
“You started this, Sweetheart.” His fingers picked up their pace and he watched as she writhed beneath him, her breath coming in ragged pants, her fingers digging into his biceps, soft whimpers of his name leaving her mouth in a staccato chant.  “You wanna think about what you just said?”
“You’re not using your
fuck!” She cried, as his fingers stretched her open, gliding and rubbing against her walls which clenched with need around his digits. “-dick, you
oh, God!”
“Nope, not yet.” He agreed, dropping his head so he could reach her breasts, a pull of his teeth on a nipple drew out another cry from her. “But I’m not sure I’m gonna need to.”
His fingers moved even faster, Fliss quivering, her whole body rubbing against his, panting as she glanced down at him, his blue eyes peeking up at her, twinkling with desire and mischief. “Frankie, please, I gotta
”
His lips wrapped around the other nipple, sucking and working his teeth around it before he pulled away, the muscles in his back and shoulders shifting as he arched up once more watching her. “Let go, Lissy.”
The heat in her stomach flooded her and she arched up off the cushions, a loud moan rolling from her throat as Frank felt her clamping down round his fingers, as her eyes flickered shut, her legs twitching. Frank leaned over to kiss her, deeply, as he slotted himself between her thighs, grinding down into her. Kisses flowed into soft bites of skin while Frank arched his hips up enough to slide his cock between her folds, and once he found her entrance, he pressed into her heat, burying into exactly where he wanted to be the most, forehead pressed against her own, breath mingling as both panted through the initial hit of sensations that coursed through their veins.
“You okay, Baby?” Frank looked down at her and Fliss nodded, tipping up to press her lips against his, tugging on his full bottom lip, nudging her nose against his.
“Better than okay” She rolled her hips once more against his, the shift in angle making her tighter, driving Frank crazy to feel her fluttering around him. Pulling his hips back he thrust deeply into her, causing her shudder.
“I can tell.” He grunted as he started to move himself, the thrust of his hips moving her slightly with each drive forward. Shifting to his elbows on either side of her head, Fliss immediately wrapped her leg from around the couch over his hip, rocking up to meet him.
“Oh, fuck, Frank!” The change in angle hit her deep and just right as he reached down and grabbed under her other knee, bringing that leg around his hips too before he fisted a hand in her hair, tipping her head back and dragging a swipe of his tongue up her neck. He kissed that sweet spot just behind her ear, once more dragging his name out of her in a chant, as he slowed his movements down, his hips now driving slow and deep. But her hands dragged down to his back, nails digging into the bunched muscles he was using to monitor his speed and she grabbed at him.
“No Sailor
I want you to fuck me.”
Frank gave a little groan as he moved to look at her and found her eyes challenging him. Fuck, he loved it when she got all fucking horny and needy.
“Oh, Cowgirl
” He smirked, shifting his chest across hers and pulling away, propping himself up above her as both his hands fisted in her hair to hold her down. “. “You better hold on to something.”
Her eyes flashed and then without warning he began snapping his hips forward and back with a brutal pace as he dragged himself back and forth from her fluttering channel.
It was so quick that Fliss screamed out, a vague thankful feeling crossing her addled brain about how she was suddenly glad they had no near neighbours, but all thoughts disappeared as soon as they flashed into her mind as she felt her eyelids flutter shut as she could feel nothing but how thick he was inside her, the constant pounding left her trying to keep up with his furious fucking, and she was failing, big time.
Her eyes opened and her entire gaze was filled with nothing but Frank, a wide chest with its spattering of dark hair drove her crazy, to the straining shoulders that gave him the leverage to shift his body in every way to claim her. And then his face, that handsome face she knew from memory, his sharp, bearded jaw was tight, those baby blue eyes burning into hers as his face hovered inches from hers, all his focus on her and only her.
It was driving her crazy.
Frank was just as swamped with the sensations. He enjoyed making love to his girl but he also enjoyed the faster, carnal fucking too. There was a darker side to him that enjoyed being able to use his size to claim her how he wanted and give her what she needed and since their weekend in Vermont, he knew he could do exactly that without fear anymore.
"Fuck
“ he growled out as he rutted into her, feeling her clench as he hit a particularly toe-curling spot deep inside her and her mouth dropped wide in a loud gasp. He was angled just right, and she dragged her nails down his back, urging him to keep hitting it, which he did, rotating his hips, making her groan and her whole body arch into him.
Frank kept going, relentless, hard, demanding, claiming. Fliss tightened her legs around him, her, hands scrambling along his back, and her head fell back against the arm of the couch again, and Frank heard her signature cry, a whispered, garbled tangle of words falling from her lips as, her whole body locked around him before with a loud, guttural cry of his name she came, hard.
Frank dropping himself enough to press his forehead against hers as she cried underneath him, his lips pressing to hers, swallowing her cries. He slowed his thrusting, helping her ride out her orgasm, but he wasn’t that far from his, it was simmering and he was teetering on that edge that he knew he was going to fall over soon. There was a slight stutter to his hips as he grained speed again, grinding into her until her clenching body was too much and with a gasp of a name and a dirty grunt he spilled into her, jolting to a stop after several erratic thrusts, sinking down over her as Fliss pressed her face into his neck, breathing in deeply.
After a moment, she eased her limbs from around him, her foot sliding down the back of his thigh and calf, humming softly post-orgasm, she leaned up, nibbling on Frank’s neck, and he gave a soft hum of delight as she nipped at his jaw.
“Maybe you could blow your boxers off. At a push.” She mumbled cheekily, and Frank laughed, his mouth claiming hers, if for no other reason other than to shut her up.
*****
Even if they’d had chance to lie in the next morning, which thanks to their son was not an option, they couldn’t have. Fliss was up early, the excitement in the house at the fact they were hosting Mary’s first birthday party was infectious, and Frank found himself getting swept up in it too. This was all he’d ever wanted for Mary, and the fact she’d actually requested a party in the first place had almost reduced him to tears.
By the time nine in the morning rolled by, the balloons were blown up and scattered about the place, banners had been hung and the music system was ready to go outside. With a quick kiss goodbye, Frank headed off to go and pick his mother up from the airport, before driving back down to their old estate to pick up a very hyper active Mary, and a slightly less bouncy Roberta.
Mary was overjoyed with the decorations, hugging Fliss and thanking her over and over again, and then the time seemed to fly by with her best friend Rosie arriving first, along with her parents who once more asked Fliss and Frank if they were sure the little girl was okay to stay the evening too. Fliss waved away their concern and asked if they’d like to stay for a while, an offer which they rather hastily declined and Frank snorted a little as Rosie’s dad gave him a wink when he told Frank they had ‘plans’.
By two, the pool party was in full swing, Steve, Frank and Bill overseeing seven kids as they dived in and out of the pool, jumping on and off inflatables as the music played in the background. Frank glanced around, watching as Fliss bustled about the garden, Alex perched on her hip as she laughed at something Roberta had said before she nodded and passed Alex over to the woman who beamed at him as he grabbed at her large beaded necklace.
“Frank?”
He spun to face his mother who smiled at him, her large sun hat shading her face. She held up the empty bottle in her hand. “Me and Verity appear to have finished this Sancerre. Do you mind if-“
“You’ve sunk a bottle by two in the afternoon, shame on you.” He gave a lout tut and his mother simply arched an eyebrow.
“Yes, well having children turned me into a raging alcoholic.” She stated matter of factly and Frank snorted.
“Touche, well, help yourself, you know where it all is.” He jerked his head towards the kitchen. “You don’t need to keep asking for things whilst you’re here, you know.”
“No, I know. But I was kind of hoping to talk to you actually.” Evelyn looked at him. “Come with me.”
“Oh?” He frowned, tossing a glance back at Fliss before he followed Evelyn into the house. He reached into the fridge, pulled out another chilled bottle of wine before he set it on the counter. “What’s up?”
“Nothing much, I just
well, I’ve come to a decision about something, and I wanted to run it past you first.”
“Okay.” He watched her as she cleared her throat.
“I’ve decided to sell the house.” She stated and Frank watched her, having a feeling he knew exactly what was coming next. “And I’m going to buy and apartment. Here.”
“Right.” Frank looked at her, his face passive.
“And one in Boston.”
“Two apartments?”
“One plus one was two last time I checked, yes.” Evelyn’s mouth twitched at the corner and Frank rolled his eyes. “I thought I could spend the winters here and the summers in Boston. That way, it would only be for six months a year. Sure even we could survive being in the same state as one another for that long.”
“Sounds like you got it all planned out.”
"I want my grandchildren to know me, Frank. I already missed out on so much with Mary, and yes, before you say anything, that was my own fault, but I don’t want to miss out on any more.”
“And you won’t, I’ve told you-“
“Well, clearly I am because I missed the fact that Mary was now calling Fliss mom.”
Frank took a deep breath and folded his arms across his chest, “I thought we’d been through this. You said it wouldn’t be a problem.”
“It isn’t, I just
well, I wasn’t prepared for it, that’s all.”
“Well, that’s on me.” Frank looked at her, his expression softening slightly. He hadn’t really considered what effect it would have on his mother, hearing Mary call someone other than Diane her mom, but then again, why would he? Evelyn had never seen Diane with Mary after all, it never even crossed his mind that it would upset her. “I should have warned you. I’m sorry.”
“It’s fine.” Evelyn shook her head. “Like I said, I wasn’t expecting it that’s all.”
There was a pause and Frank took a deep breath. “Look, I’ve told you before. I want you to have a relationship with the kids, and, well, if you feel moving nearer to us is gonna help that then
” He trailed off giving a little shrug.
“So you wouldn’t object to me moving closer?”
“What would be the point of that?” He asked, passing her the bottle of wine. “You’d do it regardless.”
“Yes, I would.” Evelyn stated simply before she took the bottle from him. Frank gave her a small smile which she returned before she moved to leave, greeting Fliss who had just walked into the kitchen.
“Did I just interrupt something?” She frowned.
“No.” Frank shook his head, watching his mother leave. As soon as she was out of earshot he gave a groan and pulled a beer from the fridge. “She just told me she wants to sell the house and buy two apartments. One in Boston and one here.”
“Oh.” Fliss frowned, cocking her head to the side. “But, that’s
fine. I mean, you and your mom get on okay now, so-”
“Yeah, we do.” Frank nodded, taking a huge pull from his bottle, swallowing his beer. “Because she’s in Boston and I’m not.”
Fliss gave a chuckle and slipped her arms round his waist. “Stop being a little shit, Frank. I hate to point it out but it makes sense. She’s not getting any younger and if anything happens she’s a three hour flight away, as we saw when Mary was taken ill.”
“Why do you always have to be so fucking sensible?” Frank narrowed his eyes at her and she grinned, shrugging.
“I’m not, I can just see it from her point of view. But hey, look on the bright side. If she’s told you, it gives you a perfect excuse to help her look for somewhere. Tampa’s not a bad area, and it’s a forty or so minute drive away
”
“Oh, now who’s being a little shit?” He laughed as he dropped a kiss to Fliss’ lips.
She chuckled and pulled back, looking at him. “Anyway, parking that for now, the kids are getting hungry. Can you we fire up the grill and I’ll get the sides and stuff out?”
“Sure.” Frank smiled, before he kissed her again and headed outside, grabbing Steve’s collar as he went, roping him into helping.
Half an hour later kids and adults alike were sat around munching burgers, hot dogs and various other items Fliss had dotted out on the tables at the side of the garden. Frank was stood drinking a beer as he watched Steve flop down next to Sian on the seat round the table the adults had settled at, gently rubbing his hand over her little bump, giving her a quick kiss. Frank smiled, thinking back to how it didn’t seem like five minutes since he’d been doing the same to Fliss.
“Not sending you broody is it, Son?”
Frank turned to look at Bill who nodded to Steve and Frank scoffed. “Nope. Two is quite enough for us, thanks.”
Bill laughed. “Exactly what Fliss said, well, not exactly. Her phrase included the words ‘fuck off, Dad’ but the sentiment was the same.”
Frank laughed and shook his head. “Yeah, we’re both agreed, thankfully.” He smiled, his eyes flicking to Alex who was perched on his mother’s knee, as she sat chatting to Verity.
“I had a nosey up at the yard before.” Bill took a swig from his bottle. “Looks like they’re all ready to start. Must be a relief that they’re finally getting going.”
“To be honest, Bill, I’ve not been as involved with it all as I’d like.” Frank bit his lip. “I mean I’ve been over the plans and keep checking the costs and stuff but as far as actively being involved in organising anything.” He let out a deep sigh. “I know I should have stepped up a little more.”
“Hey don’t worry!” Bill smiled. “We got it covered.”
“I know and I’m grateful but I just, well this is our future you know? Her business, our property and land and I kinda feel a little...”
“Left out?”
Frank wrinkled his nose. “Not left out as such. Not in control is the best way to describe it, I suppose.”
“We talking about the building work now or life in general?”
Frank snorted, it unnerved him how easily his future father in law could read him. “That obvious, huh?”
“A little, plus Fliss says you’ve been mad busy at the shop.”
“I thought it would have died down by now.” Frank shrugged. “But we seem to be getting bigger and bigger and, it’s just not what I had in mind when I went to work there. And I know, I’m grateful but I kinda miss when things were simpler, you know?” He shook his head. “Doesn’t really sound like I’m very ambitious does it? Most people would kill to be in my position.”
“Look, management and running a business isn’t for everyone. If it was, the world would hardly tick over the way it does, would it?” Bill said wisely. “Have you talked to James?”
Frank shook his head. “I honestly don’t know what I’d say.”
“Well, what do you want to happen?”
“I miss the repairs.” Frank said, honestly. “I enjoyed it when I was running the workshop. It was a good mix between management and still being able to get my hands dirty when I wanted to.”
“Tell him that then.”
“Not that simple, we got a new guy running that side of things now. Plus it would be a drop in wages.”
“Do you need the money?”
“Not especially, Fliss brings in a fair packet and it wouldn’t be a bad income at all. But I like the security.”
“Well in that case don’t let that be a factor in your decision. Trading off a higher standard of living versus job satisfaction is a mistake I’ve seen a lot of people make in the past, Frank. It doesn’t end well as they become miserable and resent their choices.” Bill paused. “Have you not thought about going back into repairs full time, like working for yourself again?”
Frank shook his head. “No. The security which comes with this job is too big a pull to give up. Especially now there’s four of us to consider.”
“You could make it secure if you did it properly.” Bill looked at him. “Set yourself up as an independent business but get a unit on one of the Marinas. Yeah, they’ll take a cut, but you’re pretty much guaranteed work and it comes with most of the perks but you’ll manage your own time.” Frank looked at him as Bill smiled. “Might be a bit of work at first to get yourself back in the game so to speak but I can help with the practicalities of setting out on your own. Fliss has an excellent accountant plus I hear you know a pretty good lawyer.”
Frank smiled. “Yeah, maybe.”
“Just think it over. If you need the money to set up you know me and V will help out. Plus, the beauty of it is Frank, you have a job to keep you going whilst you make your decision. It ain’t a bad place to be when you think about it.”
“Thanks Bill, I’ll give it some thought.”
***** The party filtered out at about five, and their family stayed around for a little while until they too left a couple of hours later. Mary hugged Fliss and then Frank tightly, thanking them both for ‘the best birthday party ever’, Frank not bothering to point out that the sum total she had held or attended didn’t give her much to go on. He was simply happy she’d enjoyed herself.
They managed to get the two girls to bed in Mary’s room at a ridiculously late hour, so when Frank woke the next morning he wasn’t surprised to find them both fast asleep still when he poked his head into the room. He was surprised, however, to find his bed empty. Sundays were normally their lazy mornings, none of them really bothering to get up until they had to, Alex often coming into their room for a few hours. But today, it was barely gone nine and Fliss was up and fully dressed in denim shorts and a baggy fitting t-shirt.
“Morning, Honey.” He greeted her with a soft kiss. “You’re up early?”
“Yeah, I woke up and couldn’t get back to sleep.” She shrugged, before her face wrinkled up and she swallowed, rubbing at her stomach.
“You okay?” Frank frowned, his hands gently running up and down her arms. “You sick?”
“No.” Fliss shook her head. “I came on a few days early and it’s fucking excruciating for some reason. Hasn’t been this bad since I had Alex.”
“Oh, Baby!” Frank pouted and with an exaggerated fake chuckle-slash-sob she pressed her forehead to his chest and he smiled, wrapping his arms round her, kissing her head.
“My ovaries are trying to kill me.” She whined and Frank chuckled, his hands rubbing up and down her back.
“Can I do anything to help?”
“Not really, other than give me lots of sympathy and pretend you know what I’m going through.”
“Think I can manage that.”
Together they made breakfast, Evelyn joining them and Fliss took care to leave enough batter to feed the girls with when they finally surfaced at half past ten. Frank then let them head back out to the pool for another hour or so before he dropped Rosie off home and swung by the store for some snacks which he knew would keep Fliss satisfied for the afternoon and hopefully help keep her killer womb at bay.
They all settled down for the afternoon on the sun-loungers outside, the lazy Sunday bleeding into the evening, as they dipped in an out of the pool before it was time to sort dinner, which consisted mainly of left over party food, Frank grilling the remaining burgers and sausages that hadn’t been eaten at the party. Once that was over, Evelyn asked if she could take Alex’s bath time. Fliss handed him over with a smile, whilst Frank headed upstairs to make sure his mother knew where everything was. Once he was bathed and put down for the evening, Evelyn retired back to the guest house and Mary retreated to her den to watch one of her new DVDs, leaving Frank and Fliss to curl up on their sofa, settling in for another binge watching session, this time making their way through The Witcher.
As Fliss shifted again, trying to ease a particularly nasty cramp in her stomach, Frank glanced at her, frowning a little.
“Have you taken some more painkillers?”
“Yeah.” She nodded, stretching her legs out. “Just haven’t kicked in yet.”
“What hasn’t?” Mary asked as she walked past the sofa from her den, heading to the fridge.
“Nothing that concerns you.” Frank replied, not even looking at her.
“Are you on your period?” Mary asked bluntly and Fliss glanced at Frank who looked at her, blinking, before they both turned their heads to look at her over the back of the sofa as he closed the fridge, juice box in her hand.
“How the hell do you know about that stuff? You’re ten!” Frank stared at her and she shrugged, moving back towards them.
“I read about it when I looked up where babies came from.”
“You looked up where babies come from?” Fliss repeated, her voice controlled as she was trying to supress the laughter bubbling in her throat.
“I was curious, Mom. Wanted to know how you made Alex.”
“Jesus Christ.” Frank groaned, as Fliss let out a snort. “I clearly need to increase the level of Parental Control on your laptop and tablet.”
“No you don’t because it didn’t let me google it, so I had to find it in a book in the library.” She said matter of factly as she paused by the back of the sofa, fixing them both with a look. “And, for the record, I think it’s totally disgusting what you did. But, now you have him, you don’t need to do it again. That is unless you decide you want another and-“
“No, you’re absolutely right.” Frank cut her off, his face serious. “It’s totally gross. I’m so relived I will never have to go through that torture ever again.”
Fliss couldn’t look at him, she had to turn away, the expression on his face was utterly dead-pan. She pressed her lips together, scrunching her face up as she tried desperately to stop the laughter exploding from her mouth.
“God knows what Uncle Steve and Sian think they’re doing, having another one.” Mary grumbled.
“Well, your Grandmother had two.” Frank pointed out, and Fliss slapped his thigh, in a desperate attempt to make him stop. His lips quirked at the sides ever so slightly before he straightened his face once more as Mary looked back at him.
“I suppose, but you were the eldest so she clearly thought she needed to try again after having you, you know, make it right.”
At that the laughter Fliss had been supressing burst from her mouth as her shoulders shook and she tipped her head back, roars of laughter filling the room.
“Well,” Frank looked at Mary, “you’re technically our eldest so
”
“Yeah but you adopted me, therefore you chose me.”
“Well, not really as you were kinda already here.” Frank teased.
“Yeah but you chose to be my parents, not just my uncle and his wife.”
“That’s true.” Frank nodded.
“So, that clearly makes me special.”
“Oh, you’re special alright.” Frank agreed, his face serious.
Mary grinned as she flounced back off to her den, shutting the door behind her. As soon as it clicked shut, Frank look at Fliss, who was now bright red from the force of her laughter, tears pouring down her face and he too began to laugh.
“Fucking hell.” He shook his head as Fliss wiped her eyes. “I can’t with that kid!”
“She’s hilarious, I love her.” Fliss chuckled. ”And you- I’m so relieved I will never have to go through that torture ever again, liar, much?”
Frink grinned, his arm curling round her shoulders, pulling her to him as she snuggled into his side. “Well, sex is dirty. But only when it’s done right.”
Fliss snorted. “And of course we do it right, Sailor.”
“Damned straight we do.” He leaned back against the sofa, pressing a kiss to her head.
“So, are you gonna tell Alex sex is dirty and gross?”
Frank hesitated, before he rolled his eyes, knowing exactly what Fliss was getting at. “You know, of course we will properly talk to Mary when she’s older and starts to get interested in dating, Fliss.”
“Careful there, Sailor. You’ll give yourself whiplash backtracking that fast.”
“I’m not backtracking."
“Course not.” Fliss wrinkled her nose sarcastically and Frank groaned.
“Look, can we stop talking about when she’s...” He waved his hand and gave a shudder. “I don’t wanna think about it.”
“Face it Frankie, it’s probably gonna happen sooner than later. You got to be prepared.” Fliss looked at him, her lips twitching at the corners. “I mean, you wanted her to have a normal life. Dating is part of that."
“Are you gonna shut up, or am I gonna have to make you?” Frank turned to Fliss, dropping his head a little so his nose was mere inches from hers,
“Thought that was like gross.” She teased. “And besides I’m on.”
“You know, I have heard that orgasms are supposed to help with cramps.” Frank shifted a little, his lips gently brushing her neck. “Could always do it in the shower,” he nipped at her skin. “No mess, no fuss.”
“I showered before and besides,” Fliss pushed on his shoulders, forcing him to stop his teasing bites to her neck, “it’s a known fact that a woman’s entire sexual reproductive system grows teeth in shark week.” Frank blinked before he gave a snort of laughter as Fliss shrugged. “Well, it feels like my womb is trying to eat its way out so
”
“There’s somewhere else I could shove it to keep you quiet.” Frank grinned and Fliss scoffed.
“Yeah that’s got teeth too, Sailor, and I ain’t afraid to use ‘em.” She laughed and gave him a gentle kiss. “But only when you ask nicely.”
Frank gave a groan against her mouth. “You’re killing me, Lissy!”
“Aww, I got you all worked up Sailor?”
“Yes.” He answered bluntly.
“Shame Mary’s in the den, I could have fixed that for you.”
Frank looked at her, before his head whipped round over his shoulder. “Mary! Go to bed!”
Fliss slapped his arm, laughing as Mary pulled open the door to her den and glared at him. “It isn’t even nine yet!”
“He’s joking.” Fliss looked at her.
“No I’m not.” Frank deadpanned and Mary rolled her eyes.
“Whatever, Dad.” And with that she disappeared again, the door shutting behind her.
Frank groaned as he lay his head back, shifting slightly, trying to relieve the strain at the front of his jeans. Watching him out of the corner of her eye, Fliss smirked to herself. She loved how she could get him worked up simply by using her words, it was a fucking huge turn on.
“You know, I’m sure I just heard Alex upstairs.”
“What?” Frank turned his attention to her.
“Yeah, I best go check on him,” she looked at Frank, “you know, upstairs,” she bit her lip, “and it might take me five minutes or so.”
With a puzzled expression Frank watched her go before he turned his attention to the baby monitor. On the small screen he saw Alex was sleeping soundly. He frowned, Fliss had no reason to be-
Oh. Oh
With a grin he stood up. “Mary just gotta nip upstairs for a moment. If you need us just, well, just wait.”
And with that he shot after Fliss, taking the stairs two at a time.

Loving Fred // Fred Weasley
Fred Weasley x Slytherin Fem Reader
Warings: Mentions of war, death, loss, anxiety, depression (maybe? I think it might be that), there’s fluff, and I think angst but that depends on how you look at it.
summary: Loving Fred is easy... or is it always like that?
a/n: First of all Fred survives because that’s how it should have been all along and the only ending imma be happy with :) this is like a small story on y/n and Fred loving each other during different times?
Imagine the most beautiful field, full of blooming flowers and imagine those pictures of people running thru it, and they look happy and the world is bright and sunny. That’s what it feels like to love Fred.
y/n thinks about it everytime. How lucky she is to feel this way about him, to be the lucky one he loves and she
well she loves him the most. When they attended Hogwarts, it was the most magical time.
She remembers having a hard time adjusting when she was first sorted into Slytherin. Her parents had been Hufflepuffs their whole lives so it was surprising to say the least that she had been sorted into the greens. It took everyone in her family a while to get use to it, but never did they push her way like she had initially thought. But still, feeling so out of her space she isolated herself from the world. The only friends she had, none belong in her house. It was hard, specially at night when she had to separate from them and go into the dormitory and hear all the other girls be social.
It was on one of the days she had so much work to do, but ten library didn’t seem like the right place for her that she headed down to the lake. she was alone, for a long while and she got so much work done. Until crunching sounds of leaves and a laugh took her out of her moment. She looked over her shoulder to see the twins, Fred and George coming down to the lake, both alone. They were still far but from what she heard when she took up on their conversation they were planning another prank.
Of course y/n knew who they were.  They were always in trouble from what she could always see. If they spend sometime, quiet, and by that it means no pranks, it was because they were doing detention, but took that time to prepare their next big one. They made her life a little brighter. A lot brighter. They made her laugh and they didn’t even know.
That was about it. For a long while, it was all y/n did, look at them from afar. Look at him from afar. Tall, lanky, ginger head boy, with the most contagious smile she had ever seen. Caring, loving and genuine, it was impossible not to feel a lot of thigs when you looked at him. The way he sat at meals, they way he looked distracted in class but somehow listened to everything and was thing incredible intelligent man. How he always tend to dress like his twin but different colors. How their pranks were always incredibly funny.
After a while y/n started to have more than a crush. It happens you know? Sometimes you don’t need to speak to the person to start loving them. You just need to pay attention, and your heart does the work for you. The person doesn’t even have to know you exist, or notice your presence. Your body, your mind does that for you and y/n
well she was a victim of those things.
And when does things started her actions changed right in front of her eyes but it took her so long to realize. How after classes she took a little longer to organize her things just so she could look at him a little while, usually chatting with his twin and Angelina and some other friends. Or how she came earlier to every meal because they were usually already there, taking that small amount of time to work on their pranks. Or how all of a sudden quidditch became her favorite sport and she found herself attending every practice of Gryffindor. She should have known then. How suspicious that was. But she didn’t. But it does become a little you know? When you belong to one house and attend every quidditch practice even if your house isn’t the one practicing.
He started to notice then. Contrary to popular belief, Fred was a very attentive man. Sometimes he might seem to into his world of pranks and laughing, but he takes his sweet time noticing small changes around him. He didn’t notice, at first, the time she spend after class or how early she came to meals. It first started when after a few quidditch practices, he notice she was there, her Slytherin scarf hanging around her shoulders. At first it only seemed she was a fan of the sport and liked to watch, but then everytime Fred looked she looked away and when he took a little more time to watch, he saw how she would fling under his look, how her hands would come together and her fingers would move, like she was nervous. How she would lower her head and he thinks a smile would appear on her face.
So, that made him look more at her. Fred knew her. He doesn’t think she knows but everyone knows her honestly. Her parents were quite known in the wizarding world and his father knew her mother from work and remember his father mentioning her
situation. So he knew her. He hadn’t taken the time to study her tho. But now, that she all of sudden seemed to be every where he was, he couldn’t help himself. Sometimes he thinks he even found himself looking for her too when she wasn’t around.
That’s how one day, when George was on a date with Angelina and he was left on his own, with projects for their next prank that faith might have happen. The great hall was very empty, only a hand full of students here and there, and he found it the perfect place to work on his things. He was sitting down, after putting his things down when his eyes went unconsciously to the slytherin table. And there she was, head rested on her hand and her eyes narrowed like whatever she was reading was making her head hurt and confused. It had to be now. They had been watching each other from afar for so long now, that someday one of them at to at least try.
So, Fred, picked up his things and went to her table. She only looked at him when he was close to where she sat. The sound of his steps echoing in the quiet great hall.
“Seems like you were in need of help.” Fred notice her relaxed posture took one of a more rigid one, she clenched the pen in her grasp, tighter. Words caught in her throat.
She wanted to ask how, but couldn’t make that many words.
“Yes.”
“Great, ,let’s see, potions right? Oh I’ve done that already, I can help you.” Fred said happily, while sitting next to her, the projects for his next prank with George were completely forgotten.

Loving Fred was like being able to watch your favorite thing in the whole wide world, again, and again, and again, and have it with you always. Loving Fred was being able to be free, to be yourself, your silly care free self, and your serious self when needed.
Loving Fred was special. It was always wanting to do the smallest most sweetest gestures for him. And him for her.
How y/n started to realize that since Fred was always busy with his pranks and doing his homework very late at night and sometimes, the day before it was due, that she should make something for him. It could be a lunch by the lake, being with him in silence if he was working or being there for all his practices. And Fred took y/n out every chance he got, any money he got he started to spend it on her, on small things he knew would make her heart full of love. And he made sure he was never to busy for her.
He loved that women with all his heart. Talking to her that day was his best decision and he doesn’t regret it one second.
Certainly not when he looks at the way she interacts with his family. All of them. How she loved his mother and father like they were her own parents. How she had things in common with all his siblings so she could take up any conversation with them, at anytime. He also knew she was the one when they would ask when she was gonna be around again.
She knew he was the one when her parents would make his favorite food every time a new school year started, or when she was going back from their short time at home. How they would wake up early in that same day to make it, so he could ‘eat it fresh’ they would say. Or how when it was Fred’s turn to spend sometime with her, they would always do small things around the house for him, and Fred would the thankful everytime. Or when the day they decided to put their families together for the first ever (even thought they knew each other) and it was like it hadn’t been the first time at all.
They knew the world was on their side.
--
Loving Fred sometimes wasn’t as easy when big decisions came into play. When they had decided that they wanted to leave and start their own business y/n was heart broken. Use to spend her day with the man she loved, being far from him was
 it was a lot.
Although Fred and George had that idea in their head for a while, it took a bit for Fred to bring it up to y/n. None of the moments felt right. Since every moment they had together was full of love and happiness and goofiness, Fred could never have the courage to talk about a topic like that.
When he did bring up the topic he made sure he had planned a calm day for them. He told George that day to not count on him for anything, he would be with y/n all day. After class he brought her down to the lake. They were just there, laying next to each other, holding hands and taking in the moment. It took Fred everything in him to talk about it.
“Hey, love?” He almost whispered, if had any courage before it was all gone now. Nowhere to be seen, he could feel his hands start to sweat.
“Tell me baby.” y/n turned her body a little to face him and her other free hand came to rest at the top of his chest, caressing it.
“I need to talk to you about something.” Fred said firmly, trying to bring his thoughts together. y/n started to worry in that moment.
“Everything ok?”
“I- it’s hard. And please know that I still want to be with you. If you still want to be with me after this
”
“Fred, please just tell me what’s going on.”
“I’m leaving Hogwarts with George. Before the year ends.”
Silence fell between them, and it almost seemed like the sound of the lake and the birds and the leaves had stopped. The only sounds heard was their hearts beating very loudly and quickly.
“Fred, what- why?” She had sat up now, letting go of his hand.
“Umbridge, and the stupid fucking punishments.” He looked at his hand to see the most fresh mark. He remember the day he got it and how y/n left everything she was doing with his sister to come and take care of him. Making sure that healed the best way possible. She even stayed with him that night in his dorm. She said anything could happen and she wanted to be there. Fred knows they just needed each other’s comfort that day. “And starting the joke shop as been a dream of ours and continuing here just isn’t the same anymore.”
He sat up slowly next to her and one arm came to rest on her back and give gentle, soothing caresses. She didn’t flinch away from it, and that was a good sign for Fred. She just couldn’t wrap her mind around it. Images of her first year at Hogwarts filling her mind, the loneliness, the sadness, everything coming back to her. She didn’t want to be selfish, she wanted to be proud of him, of how much he had accomplished and wanted to accomplish and how much passion he showed in everything he did. And how no matter what, he had always supported her dreams to.
But since being with Fred, for almost three years now, she didn’t know what those bad, dark feelings were, and having them come back was
bad. In a short spam of time everything came hitting her like that. How maybe she would not be enough anymore after Fred left. Maybe he was gonna find someone out there who would be perfect for him, and who he would love more. Tears were feeling her eyes.
“Love tell me, what is going on in that head of yours.” He murmured, his head coming close to hers and he rested against it, his lips leaving a sweet and gentle kiss on it.
“And us?” She spoke so lowly and he had difficulty hearing her.
“Us? y/n, listen to me, if you still want me even after this decision, I’m yours. You know that love.”
She should feel some time of relieve hearing that, but her mind was coming up with the most stupid scenarios and she couldn’t help but feel insecure.
“You can find someone better out there Fred.” She stated, her fingers almost crushing each other with the force she was closing them against her palms.
Fred could feel his heart break. Never, ever did he want her to think of that, and like that. He didn’t think this conversation would spark something like this. He would expect her to scream at him, get up and leave and maybe that would it for them. Never did he think she would still be here, crying because she was scared he was gonna love someone else. He could never.
“I will never be able to love anyone else like I love you.” He said, so true to himself and to what he felt that y/n could feel it radiate from him. “You are the person I love the most in this life y/n. You are everything I want and need. You have loved me thru my worst, and thru my best and never did you turn your back against me even when I disappeared.” He was talking about the time his father got hurt, and he had orders not to speak of it at the time, and had also left without any warning. y/n came to find out from Hermione, who had been nothing but kind and welcoming to her since the begging and who she spend much time with before that, and after that.
“And I will love thru this new journey Fred.” She looked at him and her shaking hands came to take both of his in her grasp. “I love you. And I’m sorry for how I’m reacting, but I just
we’ve been together everyday for so long that it feels scary to be left alone like this. Without you. But I know you will be pursuing your dream. And I cannot ask for anything more in this life than your happiness.”
“I will be there when you leave Hogwarts, and I will be there waiting for you, and to see you. And to support you on every dream you have.” He had a smile on his face, tears also on his face, because he felt so loved by her. He kissed her. “You will never be alone, Ginny and Hermione and Harry and Ron, they will all be here love. And I will write to you everyday until we see each other again.” She laughed at that.
“You’ll have more important things to worry about than me Fred.”
“Do not say those words again. I will never be to busy or have anything more important than you. I love you.” She kissed him this time.
It would be an uncertain time, but then again when wasn’t it? The dark was roaming closer, and closer and they could only rely on each other and their love to get thru the hard times ahead. But in that moment, with her heart a little less heavier and her mind a little more calm she knew that with Fred by her side, close or far she would be okay. She just needed him to be okay.
--
The period in which Fred and George’s business was blooming was short lived. After y/n left Hogwarts she could spend more time with Fred and even helped around the store a lot. George would joke all the time they should just hire her.
War hit after a while. At the end of his older brother wedding hit and Harry, Ron and Hermione had left, the air around them became heavy. Fear was everywhere. y/n fought against Mrs. Weasley some of the death eaters, until all it was left of the scene was destruction everywhere.
That day, when she laid next to Fred on his bed, in his room that he shared with his twin, she cried silently against his chest. Pulling him as closely as she could, like he could vanish at any second.
“It’s going to be okay love.” Fred had whispered, his arm around her body, the heat radiating from both of them. George was still downstairs, with his family. She couldn’t answer, only cry. Even Fred didn’t know if things were in fact going to be ok. For once in his life he was uncertain of the future. He hadn’t been, when he left school in his last year, with his twin to pursue his dream. But now, laying here in the dark of his room, with his lover in his arms, he couldn’t help but wonder about everything.
He had planned so many things, y/n was included in every single one of them. And he wanted to think about those things and expect them to become true. But it was hard, specially after what happened, and now his little brother was out there, danger in every corner he took. Having to look back all the time because no one could be trusted. He feared for his family, how their safety was compromised. He knew they had all signed up for this. But still, he loved them all so much it was impossible not to worry.
He wanted to whisper to her again ‘everything is going to be okay.’ But after a while not even him believed in those words anymore.
--
Now, loving Fred was a challenge. One she wanted to take up any day, everyday. But one none the less.
Of all the Weasley’s, Fred had come the closest to death. He was in fact dead for a moment. That left a sentiment in Fred that no one around him could explain.
The happy, caring and loving Fred had become closed of. He didn’t initiate the conversations anymore, he didn’t even talk pretty much. If he was having a better day he would gesture towards something. His mind always filled with the thoughts of the moment, the darkness that enveloped him so scary that left him nauseous.
y/n remembers being scared that day, when things had calmed down for a bit, she went looking for Fred. They had been separated earlier, and she was thinking she would come to him, relief would take over both of their bodies. Instead she came to him unconscious, coming back from death and his family around him. All her dreams had been shattered that moment. And seeing her happy bright Fred like that, pale and lifeless was the scariest moment she had ever gone thru.
The time after the war was meant to rebuild. Families that had been separated by the dark lord were able to see each other again. Others had been broken beyond repair and the grieving feeling would slowly and forever take over their lives. What was suppose to be a breath of fresh hair, was far from that. Destruction was everywhere you looked, and when you thought you could build it again, it was hard to do.
Everyone knew nothing would be the same. But they would be a new thing. And you could only hope one day that would be good.
But for a while it wasn’t for his family. For her.
She spent every second of everyday next to his bed, she barely remembers eating or sleeping in the period of time she was there. But her mom and Mrs. Weasley tell her that she would, only a little, but she would.
When they left, she knew Fred wasn’t the same. Who would be? Harry wasn’t the same either. In the nights neither could sleep, Ginny would come visit Fred and she and y/n would have the longest deepest talks. They were both suffering in similar ways. Harry had been thru so many things, the trauma he carried was heavy. And ginny was his life support at the moment. Being there for him at any given time. When she wasn’t, was because one of her brothers would make her do something else while they helped him. She had small breaths of relieve.
It was with those conversations y/n was able to prepare for herself for the hard times ahead of her. In that way, although broken herself without the Fred she knew by her side, she was able to help him.
They stayed at the burrow. George wasn’t feeling going back to open the shop so early and specially without the person he needed the most by his side. So staying at the place they most felt comfortable was their best decision.
For the first month Fred was just there. A walking statue. He would look at people when they talked to him or mentioned his name but he wasn’t able to form any words. Sometimes even just sitting there he could feel tears streaming down his face. Helpless. y/n would cleaned them, her soft warm touch against his cheek would bring a little lightness to the darkness in him.
The second month he started to show more progress, he would touch y/n softly everytime she laid next to him, he couldn’t take, but he would show her with small gestures how much he loved her and was grateful for her.
She had stopped crying. Seeing small changes in him, for the better was the best signal that everything was going to be okay, that she could receive.
“I love you Fred. Everything is going to be okay.” She said the same words to him, he had told her when all of this had started to go south. But now as she said those words to him, head resting on his bare chest, his arm around her again and leaving gentle caresses, it felt different. And her fear was starting to disappear.
Fred had spoken to her on a very sunny day. It was the first real sunny day they had in a while. Where no clouds could be seen in the sky, only the sun, shinning very bright. His family had decided for a day out, a little shopping. Fred had stayed because he couldn’t bring himself to leave the house. y/h stayed behind. So many times did she have do assure him he wasn’t holding her back. She wanted nothing more than for him to be okay.
So here she was, in the kitchen, in a little more practical clothes than she usually had because it was just them. His shirt and one of his shorts on. Fred was sitting at the table, eating his food, his mind thinking about her.
And then, it just left him.
“I love you.” y/n almost dropped the things she had in her hand, she had to turn back, her eyes wide. Her mind was racing with thoughts, had she really heard that. Or was she longing for it for so long that she imagining things?
“I love you.” He said again, this time meeting her eyes. She smiled brightly. Dropping carefully everything she had and went to stand next to him, since he was sitting, she hugged him so his head met her belly.
“I love you Fred, so much.” She kissed the top of his head. “Everything is going to be okay.” With tears forming on her eyes, a smile on her face and the sun shinning in the horizon, Fred’s voice echoing in her head, his arms now wrapped around her body, she felt hopeful again.
That small simple phrase had been said in many moments during their time together. And she knew it would be said a lot more in the future. But this was the first time she felt in every fiber of her body, that is was true.
