It’s done! Who knows how many digits of pi. All that’s left is signing and framing.

After years of searching, and having a difficult time finding Western Slavic counted thread embroidery patterns, I just found my second vintage Czechoslovakian book in a couple of months.  I’ll be anxiously checking the mail for the next couple of weeks!  And my finds have fell close to Christmas and my birthday to justify the purchases!
This year I’ve challenged myself to a year of Czech and Slovakian altar cloths!  So far I made one for Christmas and one for Hromnice with the book I purchased right before Christmas.  And I’m working on one for Easter.

It's done! A few weeks ago, I decided to start make patches of all the Path logos - pathches? - from HSR, and of course I had to start with our main man (gender neutral), Akivili the Trailblaze! I definitely should've left more space for the edge, but not bad for a first attempt, if I do say so myself. I'm going to do the seven playable paths next, and I've got solid ideas for three of them but don't know where to start, so...

This is the last, large unfinished project I have, Peacock Tapestry by Teresa Wentzler. It’s been sitting in my stash closet for a few years now. Hopefully it will be finished now. I love the color palette, but the mixed color threads, not so much.

UNSTITCHED COIF - FINISH! MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES
here have I been these past weeks? Stitching away in a sweatshop of my own making. That may sound tedious, but it was actually tons of fun. I had to drone away with intent to meet the completion deadline for the Unstitched Coif project. I’ve completed the embroidery, including some small repairs. All that’s left is neatening up the back a bit, hemming to final size, and shipping. This is the…

The problem with single thread embroidery is that it’s weird as hell to not have a knot at the end of the thread, to just be out and free in the wind, able to slip right off at any moment and only need to rethread the needle to start going again, to be caught on any imperfection of thread and just continue on like nothing’s wrong because what, am I going to undo the last ten stitches just because a bit caught? No
Because it’s actually way easier and cleaner and prettier to satin stitch with a single thread than doubled
