Quote 2: The Countdown Ending is arguably the Narrator at his most evil! And this quote specifically is one that gives me chills every time I play it!

Basically, what happens in this ending is that he traps the protagonist in a room that's about to explode, and baits him with the non-existent opportunity to stop the explosion. The quote comes from the part of the ending where he finally tells him that he can't stop it.

In addition to working really well for the ending itself, it also ties back to the general themes of the game, with the Narrator setting up a game world that's near-impossible for the protagonist to escape from, and yet he keeps trying anyway.
