22. First introduction in their story (share a snippet or description)

I give you the very first paragraphs of Dahlia’s story in “In the Midst of Winter”:

Sweat runs down Dahlia's brow and various cuts leak blood over her face and body as she looks up at the darkened sky. It is finally done. Alduin, the infamous world-eater, is no more. An odd feeling sets over her despite knowing that she has finally accomplished what she had set out to do: strange, eerie tranquility mixed with acute disbelief. All that is punctuated with the fierce throbbing of her wounds, yet as she finds herself back at the Throat of the World, she feels nothing else.

She had almost expected that she would have felt something more--something which made her feel irrevocably different. But there is no relief, no tears, and as she looks down at her hands, they still look the same to her. The only thing she has are the few bleeding scrapes and possibly a few cracked ribs. Not much of a souvenir for all that she has done. Not that she did it for the glory or even to come out on the other side changed.

Dahlia takes in a deep breath as she tries to steady herself and immediately regrets it. Coughing, she sputters and doubles over from a sudden, sharp pain. That will be her ribs.

"Blast that damnable dragon, and may he suffer thrice as much in the depths of Oblivion." She curses before lifting her head to scan her surroundings.

If she is honest with herself, that's something she should have done before now. If Lydia were here she would have kicked her in the backside or even tossed her off the mountain for forgetting herself.

F. First date.

Hmm..this is an interesting question! I am not sure if I have taken Dahlia and Ulfric on a proper first date in their story. They’re both so busy with the war when they do get together that they don’t really have time for proper dating. However, there is a scene that I write where Dahlia takes Ulfric out to the New Gnisis for dinner. That perhaps is their first and only proper date.

It’s Dahlia. She’s my baby, and why I started writing. (And still writing for her hundreds of thousands of words later.) She will always be special to me, and she is the one I have the most written for. The other things I have written are just some assorted one shots from Elden Ring and BG3.
