god YES okay so thank you to @hagstones for listening to my ramblings and agreeing with me that Nuwa should be a little fucked up and a little weird in all terms that are unholy.

spoilers ahead for anyone that hasn't seen S5 ig

Nuwa in my version is essentially an actual snake in terms of not being capable of feeling the same connections/emotions humans do. She created humans, yes, with the capability of doing things she cannot do. She cannot love someone she can only trust them; she is the person you go to for logic and exchange. She is the same goddess who essentially lead a war to happen and then killed the spirits she sent down herself for "being too cruel".

She's so morally complex she doesn't fall into a kind demeanor. She smiles and it feels like she's more amused and delighted by a situation than she is sympathetic. She's not villainous either because to label as her feels wrong? She's not motherly either which is what icks me the most about the LMK fandom right now when it comes to her. She's a snake! She should be more snake-like imo! She should bite and spit venom or show lack of care towards someone's issues unless they bring something worth her time to look at.

I think the idea of having her create a cycle... is kind of stupid! Why would she care about that? Why would she do that? She seems like the type to watch people die and only intervene when it goes on for too long or when something catches her eye? Why would she do something like start a cycle? I do not know! She's the essence of Life but that doesn't mean Life is warm and welcoming all the time, y'know?

I always pictured her as that horror version of Rose Quartz where she says "we're creating life from nothing" and Fuxi stares at her as the people she creates start wars and bloodshed and conquer people and wonders how long it'll take for one of them to offend her and cause her to make them suffer a little. Gods are funky! They're meant to be intimidating! Even the friendliest of gods are terrifying!

LMK failed in capturing the fact she's a god imo she felt more like.. a mini boss? an aid? she doesn't really have much of an intimidating aura?

TLDR; my version of Nuwa is eldritch and uncanny and highly based off the horror designs of the gods who's not capable of loving her creations because she herself cannot feel love, only a humming beat of trust in the presence of people she 'enjoys' being around

sierra is sooooo complicated to me like. i could go on about her for so long & also i wish the writers did certain things with her character (which i will get into later in this rant) so ya here we go

firstly her childhood is . very clearly messed up?? it’s established that her mother is Ultra Obsessed with chris and i think sierra mentions being a 3rd generation chris mclean scholar at one point which implies that obsession just runs in the family atp😭 before even going on the show she’s grown up in an environment where this level of obsession is Normal so she doesn’t see anything wrong with turning out the same way

since her mother is like . obsessed with chris & stuff that’s probably what would bring sierra to watching total drama in the first place and i personally feel like she’d fixate on it because it was a group of teenagers her age, people she would like to be friends with if that makes sense? i can imagine she’d be a pretty odd child without many friends so that’d maybe be a reason for her to latch onto total drama, maybe why she latched onto cody too because like. she thinks he’s cute and they have things in common (like theyre both pretty geeky) so she gets pretty parasocial about it because, as mentioned before, her mum being obsessed with chris is just Normal to sierra so she thinks it’s normal for her to be obsessed with cody (spoiler alert girl: it’s really not)

while she’s on the show i feel like she doesn’t change / gets worse because chris sees her exhibiting Mental Illness and just… actively encourages her behaviour? and the other contestants do nothing to stop it, like how most of the time (e.g. paris) team amazon get mad at cody for sierra’s behaviour instead of helping him out for some reason??? no one tells sierra her behaviour is wrong so she just. Continues to get worse until shes out of the competition😭

this is where im gna interrupt with a canon divergence because like . personally i think in the episode where votes were revealed and cody was revealed to have voted sierra Every Single Time, sierra shouldve gotten over him!!!! it was the harsh truth she needed to hear, the dose of reality that cody is NOT interested in her and she needs to move on. she couldve had good character development, building her relationships with other characters and showing off her skills. maybe she’d still be eliminated in drumheller because she made cody that birthday cake as an apology and then kaboom or whatever idk just some way to keep her elimination the same

going down this train could’ve made her character in all stars Actually Interesting ! we couldve seen a side of sierra that kept some of her old eccentric vibes but had her head in the game this time instead of being focused on a boy, especially since cody isnt even in that season

and of course lastly i just wanna say i’m not excusing her weird actions or her creepiness at all, she has some Extreme Flaws and all the stuff she did was absolutely not okay, i just like rotting and seeing maybe why she acted the way she did and i wanted to drop my own two cents on interesting avenues her character couldve went down :3 i know everyone in td is some form of stereotype and sierra was an obsessive uberfan but she couldve still been that after getting over cody, in fact im disappointed that she knew SO much about the cast yet didnt use any of their weaknesses to her own advantage, she couldve dominated the competition😭

so uhhh yeah thats my thoughts on sierra, i probably over-read her to filth but shes very complex to me and i wish certain aspects of her character were done differently, she had a lot of potential especially in all stars but um Everyone had their potential destroyed in all stars so i’ll overlook that

pre-nccts peppermint as-voiced-by-katie is a being so fascinatingly, hilariously, suffocatingly rancid that i felt the need to take a breather at one point when the streams originally aired and still wince going back to her scenes, an erratic obsessive creep armchair psychologist writer and masochist on a constant dizzying sugar high who happily rejects all adherence to social contract in devotion to an evil god she's actively stalking who wants nothing to do with her in pursuit of an escapist fantasy she's projected onto him. nccts peppermint as-written-by-ryan is a particularly unstable cringe sad wet newly crowned old god in a box all alone with abrasive and obsessive tendencies over shipping, fandom drama and her own opinions about character writing to the detriment of her ability to engage positively with the 'real world' (Relatively Speaking) outside of those lenses, her derealization and her tendency to treat other people as fictional objects to project her desires onto in violation of their boundaries only being worsened by Prism's enabling of that mindset and her possessive and obsessive desire for a tooth-rotting archie-andrews ass romantic fantasy with Crimson, but she's observant and sharp and self-assured enough to stand her ground when she realizes she's being manipulated with the promise of companionship and to not waver in her conviction that Prism is wrong. these arent at all incompatible, in fact they read to me as two parts, almost two perspectives, of one greater whole, but they are pretty noticeably distinct in their focus execution and tone, i think?

she's still a creep, but ryan doesn't always sell it as hard or as strongly as katie did, often leaning on common (and thus usually less shocking and by extension less effective due to not hitting as hard) 'unpredictable viscerally lonely yandere' trope stuff. Or maybe the written medium just dampens its effect- hard to explain what specifically makes katie's pep character voice so Offputting, i cant imagine it's easy trying to translate it into text without losing some of its offensive punch when you lose the element of vocal delivery, im not sure how id do it. Havent gotten to the most potent ncct pep stuff in the reread we've been doing yet, my opinions' subject to change, maybe shes worse than i remember, lol

if peppermint's character premise is summarized and boiled down to the absolute basics as 'creepy and obsessive parasocial fan of the sport' then katie put the emphasis on 'creepy' and 'obsessive' and ryan put the emphasis on 'parasocial fan of the sport' to better use her as a character that reflects the concept of fandom and position her as being on the side of characterization over strict narrative structures and expectations for the nccts' metanarrative thematic purposes, you get what i mean?

marking 'couldve been a great character if handled differently' is admittedly kind of misleading when what i really mean is 'i hope these takes on her character maybe get synthesized a little more going forward now that prism's arc villain era in the nccts is effectively over and the narrative actively problematizes her violative and antisocial behavior more again because shes less interesting to me when its treated as inconsequential in the grand scheme of things as it kind of mostly is after ncct2, and that her loneliness and the roots of how she is and why are explored more.' alas the bingo board is written in past tense. None of this is a criticism really just kinda observations of the disconnect that sometimes comes into play when a character is really Made by their voice actor in a way thats sorta lost in translation to another medium and to the hands of another writer with different goals.

All this being said, i like her! In a show about identity and connection and our responsibilities to ourselves and eachother when living in community with others, a character defined by loneliness, disconnecting from other people and their own reality and sinking deeply enough into themself and their eccentricities and what little they DO find connection through to the point of lacking consideration for others' existence as full, real people, reducing them to picking them apart as though theyre storytelling tools, trying and struggling by navigating the world around her as though its the fiction she loves with no REAL consequences, until she upset someone badly enough to be forced to consider them as a real person with feelings (relative to her as. Also A Fictional Character,) is a really interesting character concept for a metanarrative arc of the show, and her being manipulated by the godly 'author' into being her lackey through a sense of companionship and enabling that perspective on the world by letting her in on the in-universe Cosmic Secret that their world IS a fiction to someone, us, the audience... its pretty fascinating, especially because she only falls for the lie in it for so long. It does matter. It may not be real, but it does matter. And she took us believing in her so close to heart...

Yk what ive already made all my statements abt the teen wolf movie on instagram but imma say it here

As much as i love and breath teen wolf, its not the perfect show which is fine bc recognizing that is what makes its good. The thing is the movie? Godawful. The one thing i can appreciate is that the movie had an opening and the graohic design was cool

My problems with it?

-the plotline being abt allison. I think alisson (is it allison or alisson?) Is a fine character especially in s3, however, you killed her off. That whole s3 ending was abt her dying and isaac leaves BECAUSE of allison dying. Now ur gonna reopen that plotline that was TIED OFF? Ur not even gonna get stiles or isaac back into play even tho theyre arguably the most important for that season. And ur not gonna tell us how s6 ended??? Even with a flashforward of 2 years??

-the fbombs. Im sorry, what? U make a show that doesnt use f bombs at all and u make it creepy and horror but when u make the movie thats r rated meaning u can go even harder... u use it on fbombs? Might i add in the worst way possible. "Darkness motherfucker" wow. It just sounds so cringey. Either use it once meaningfully or dont drop one at all. U managed to make s3 be creepy without it do it again

-why the absolute fuck was liam in japan. By the hour and a half mark that question wasnt explained and it never was. Him and this girl hikari (whos gr8 actually) are just in japan and i guess own a bar??? I dont even know what they are to eachother let alone how they ended up there. I only knew that they love eachother bc they say that in jpn but like still??? Is it a sibling ily or a were dating and ily?

-the actors. Im sorry but if ur gonna get all these actors like masons and parrish and malia and whoever but u give them like what one line? Mason had legit like 2 lines in that movie. And u dont even know how he beacme a police officer! He just is! And they dont even say anything abt corey??? U could easily get his actor i know he aint doin anything rn. Liam and hikari? Also have like 3 lines in the movie

-personal thing lol but not everyone looks good with a beard and a shaved head

-lydia and stiles. Just bc u coudnt get dylan obrien cuz hes like the most succesful does NOT mean u just break up the couple that u built for six. seasons. You couldve said literally anything you couldve said stiles was dealing with some fbi shit or another supernatural disaster. Lydia having the dream? Tragic but stiles wouldnt have cared bc he loves her and wouldve just wanted to be with her forever.

-how can u not tell us who elis mother is. We ALLLL wanna know who derek banged im sorry but he slept with the enemy like three times and with his history and family history everyone just wants to know who it was.

-dereks death. WHAT THE FUCK this man survived a *pipe* going thru his back for like 10 minutes and survived, got brutally slashed and survived and ur telling me he died by magical fire. Sure teen wolf sure.

-if ur gonna introduce a character like alec in the season finale, bring him into play somehow recast him idc but do smt. Even nolan! Someone !

-what was with the whole nogitsune temple thing?? It was so... not scary at all and it looked bad. Like idk it was just so kiddy. Like oh noooo we re trapped bc we re tied to a pole with rope -_-

-sorry but again why continue a plotline that has been tied off? And not continue with the one that was open ended when u cant even get the significant actors for the s3 plotline? Bring daniel sharman into play, medicis over he has the freetime.

-malia and scott breaking up is also stupid bc again they were "endgame" and they had no reason to break up other than the fact that allison was alive again and for plot reasons.

-harrison coming back was so stupid i was so glad they killed him off even tho i guess they never found his body. I was hoping

-are argent and melissa not dating anymore? Its been like 3 months since ive seen the movie so i dont rememeber that but if they arent, why are the writers/producers, whoever, so desperate to break up everything great they had goin at the end of the show.

LOST JOHN'S CAVE, aka lost johns' cave, has to be my favorite episode so far.

before anything creepy happened, i was considering going caving. there's a certain vibe to it that makes me feel a lil spiritual or something. i loved the description of the comfort of the caves and the darkness ritual. i hate the dark bc of the uncertainty of what might be lurking, but the way she described it made me almost feel okay. not to mention i lowkey enjoy controlled tight spaces—the opposite of claustrophobia, basically. she was selling me on this.

the episode hit like no other for me, because i truly imagined myself when things got to be too tight, and no longer felt like a "controlled" tightness—the cave truly doesn't follow the meaning of the word, but at least you could control where you went. and they thought they had, but then the earth put them in their place and kind of went "you are not safe here" and i felt like I couldn't breathe when she was trying to surface, when she was in that tight space trying to crawl, and when she inevitably could crawl no longer because behind her was solid rock, and the front was too tiny to get through for a moment.

and the audio recording... damn. it all felt too real for me.

Just listened to the one last week and it has stayed with me! I wanted to write down my thoughts on tumblr. im not even claustrophobic, but it really got to me cause i was like oh that 100% couldve been me if i was in her position bc i love some controlled, known, or purposely-made tight spaces. but if i ended up in that position, where things were getting impossibly tighter and then i got stuck with a dead end behind me... dear god, i would panic

basically the same stuff i wrote here, but i really want to double down on how much this episode impacted me and scared me in a way that other episodes hadn't. not because they weren't hitting their marks, but more bc i was really intrigued by them, and looking at them from an outsider/researcher-esque perspective. this episode, i really put myself in the shoes of the sisters and it was the best/worst idea 😭 (loving this show sm)

Alien Romulus: my opinions/review!!

I'm so sorry to everyone who sees this and therefore is subjected to it but my thoughts must exist somewhere

Spoiler free review is overall I'd recommend it! I think it did a lot of things right by the franchise and is a solid addition - but nothing beats the original imo.

Also I've only seen the first 2 movies before this so call me a fake fan if u want but the og is all I need

THINGS I LIKED:

▫️ I really enjoyed all the characters! I thought they were faithfully written as a bunch of rebellious, rambunctious young adults trying their best in a shitty world. I thought their dialogue was fun and realistic and their age made me hold more space for the fact that they made reckless choices lol. I also thought their acting was spectacular. I wish we got a little more time with them before they got killed off to make way for Raine.

▫️The scoring and cinematography were great. it veered in and out of familiar territory, but there were several moments where the music and camerawork really evoked the first film, and even when it didn't to me, it was still effective.

▫️PRACTICAL EFFECCCCTTSSS how I have missed them. There was a mix of practical effects and CGI but even most of the cgi was done really well except for one part (lookin at you, Ash deepfake). All the practical creatures and general ooze and viscera were great.

▫️ The human hybrid?? Creepy as FUCK. It easily couldve been goofy lookin but it was genuinely super unsettling and expertly done imo!

NEUTRAL OBSERVATIONS:

▫️ This movie rang closer to Aliens than Alien to me, which was a little bit disappointing but entirely down to personal preference. Part of my love for Alien comes from the claustrophobia and creeping sense of dread - 'where is it', 'there's nothing I can do but hide', etc, and while there was some of that, this and Aliens are more action-packed with loud conflict and guns. Still a lot of fun though!

▫️I found it interesting and a little unfaithful that the only characters to get facehugged/otherwise impregnated (at least onscreen) were female characters. A big part of why a male character was the facehugger victim in Alien is because Ridley Scott noticed that in horror, the female characters are usually the ones to be physically violated in such a way and wanted to flip that around and make male audiences uncomfortable by depicting a male 'birth scene' (from what I read years ago, anyway). Seeing as Scott worked on this movie as well, I'm interested in why this choice was made, if it was even a conscious choice.

▫️The 'artificial person' Andy is a whole can of worms for me. When he was first introduced, before he's revealed to be an AP, my (and my parent who I saw it with's) very first thought was 'oh god, he's the autistic character that's gonna get killed off'. He is an example of how stereotypical autistic traits and scifi android traits (not understanding social cues, taking things literally, being outwardly unemotional and practical) can overlap, and there's a very fine line between drawing interesting but not direct parallels and coding the character outright, often negatively or to characters' detriment. He's definitely a character I'd be interested in hearing other people's thoughts on!

THINGS I DISLIKED/DIDNT MAKE SENSE/THOUGHT WERE MEH

▫️We all know you can't breathe in the vaccuum of space - so why, after being warned of the danger of letting the xeno blood go through the floor, did it actually happen and then everything was fine? Sure, things were sucked out into space, but Raine was fine and could breathe, which is impossible - her head would have imploded seconds after she was exposed to the vacuum. Also she would have frozen to death.

▫️The deepfake face. Just why?? I think it could have been way cooler if his face was entirely practical and maybe worn beyond recognition, and then a namedrop or similar reveal could be really effective.

▫️Dare I say it - too many aliens. Like the difference between Alien and Aliens, I find one unfaceable threat in an enclosed space is more effective than a whole shootable swarm in a large space. I enjoyed the shots of facehuggers skittering everywhere tho.

▫️This is PURELY my own unreasonable hopes being dashed but I was hoping and praying for a Sigourney Weaver/Ripley cameo. I understand wanting to leave her to her era and not drag her into a new one (and also that apparently she died like 4 movies ago) but I MISS MY QUEEEEEN

▫️I wish we got a liiittle more worldbuilding - though I understand the sentiment of 'we know what you're here for so we'll get right to it' lol.

sticking to the videogame aside, we could have had ellie and joel willingly walk into the hospital, we couldve emphasized their desire to build a life together alongside ellie's desire to have a purpose and have a first act where we are led to belive this is possible. we could've MET some of the fireflies and firefly staff to have the masacre feel like something! friendly staff who are there because they believe in the cause, nurses who joke with ellie and reassure joel and have their own little comments about the people They have lost. just like how we got that moment of humanizing FEDRA in ep. 1 with the kid that had to be euthanized (just for the tension and creepiness factor to grow further and further as joel keeps getting stonewalled and appeased with increasingly terse lies* )(* fractured (2019) is this psychological thriller by the same guy who made the machinist (2004) and its about a guy who thinks a hospital is going to harvest his kid for organs and you don't know if he's delusional or onto them the whole time and it's not GOOD per se but it SOOO captures the Mood of whatever i wanted the firefly hospital scene to have)

and most importantly we should've understood marelene a lot more (i know that the scene with ellie's mom is supposed to BE that but, once again. compared to the lenght of the bill&frank episode its an atrocious choice) AND both her connection to ellie and her connection to joel+tess. tess's death could have been more relevant !!!! ELLIE COULD HAVE TOLD HIM ABOUT RILEY BEFORE THE SURGERY then we would TRULY understand the stakes of joel's choice !!!

im making my way through all the popular "How To Write Your Novel!" youtuber's self published novels just to see if they can actually write as well as they teach and so far ummm they are Not Good

100 days of sunlight by abbie emmons reads like a high school creative writing project. She writes words l i k e t h i s for emphasis which kind of got on my nerves and made me feel like i was reading a wattpad story. A man forces his way into a womans home and ignores how uncomfortable she is and i guess im supposed to find that endearing instead of really fucking creepy. The sequel is even worse and I've heard her other book is a 30 year old falling in love with a just turned 18 year old so ehhh not even gonna read that one.

The Saviors Champion by Jenna Moreci couldve been 300 pages shorter with how repetitive the scenes were. Each character is given 2 names and theres 20 characters so thats FORTY names i have to learn. Plus all the side characters, and it didn't help that they all speak exactly the same way except for the gay guy who spoke like a caveman. The gay characters are killed off and the bisexuals are seen as predators. The world doesnt make any sense, the plot doesnt make any sense, and the author makes no attempt to explain it (and apparently shes said she hates worldbuilding so she just doesnt do it which makes me think umm fantasy writing might not be for you bestie). Every single character ends their sentences with ",yes?" SO MANY TIMES to the point where my brain starting autofilling it into the dialogue even if it wasnt there, yes?

Few different thoughts on 701 and 702.

The unsub in 702 is so creepy and f'd up. It was pretty good writing.

I don't really understand the fued between JJ and Reid because at the end of 701 everyone is in the meeting room and looks fine. If they had written that Reid wasn't there then it would've made more sense in 702.

Also I didn't like the writing when Reid yells at JJ, it just didn't flow well.

I don't understand the whole "what if I had started taking Dilaudid again would you have let me part?"

Specifically the "would you have let me" part.

It should have ended at "What if I started taking Dilaudid again?"

And going to JJ's house crying. That's not really Reid's character...he doesn't really ask for help, people usually ask him if he's okay and eventually he may say something...like with the drug problem or the headaches...

701 was one of their worst episodes honestly. the whole doyle arc was done so well, which makes it so much worse when the finale falls flat. i think bringing declan’s mom as a foil for lauren was cool (and low empathy emily interacting w no empathy doyle is fucking hilarious), but other than that, it was just so… disappointing. all that build up for nothing. even the reunion felt insincere (other than shemar who acted his fuckijg ass off w that kicked puppy look). no one really reacted. idk they just made that whole ep so… uninteresting. like it wasnt entertaining at all and made absolutely no sense for anyone. truly a waste. the doyle arc couldve been so good if they just managed to stick the landing

702 was definitely the most blatant ableism in a while.. that being said, it’s a fun episode bc they make him so vile. and tbh i kinda like the little reid jj drama.. it does admittedly feel like it comes outta nowhere, and it’s not even bc the last episode didnt build up to it—we just haven’t seen jj/reid interact in an emotionally vulnerable way? like of all people, jj feels like the last person reid would go to if he needed to cry. she’s shown him nothing but disdain or indifference when he’s ever emotional around her. but i do think it’s fun that they played w the betrayal. jj’s annoyance that reid hadn’t forgiven her yet was so in character and it was interesting to see that confrontation

i dont mind their fight honestly. yeah it’s a little choppy and all over the place w reid jumping from one point to another, but i think it works bc 1) when anger reaches a certain point it becomes difficult to think linearly and 2) reid in particular isn’t exactly known for being in touch with his feelings, so he’s dealing with it while arguing. all his emotions are bubbling up at once, all the different reasons he has to be (rightfully btw) upset. reid is already a little scatterbrained and has a hard time focusing—he has so much going on in his mind at any given time that it’s hard for him to control when he’s this frustrated. all things considered i think he got his points across pretty well

i think it’s interesting that he brings up his addiction now when it’s gone unmentioned for like three seasons. i think it shows that (yeah the writers probably just forgot/didnt care) he’s pretty private about it. it’s something that was embarrassing for him, and we know he doesnt have the healthiest standards for deserving self respect. it’s partly bc he wants to be private about it and partly bc his attempts to reach out went ignored in the early stages of his addiction. so he’s been quietly struggling in the background all this time—recovery isn’t linear either. it’s definitely realistic for him to want to turn to a familiar sense of release. i think that’s what he was trying to convey: how deeply this hurt him. he was in genuine pain, and he resents jj for letting him suffer when she knew emily was still alive. to be fair i dont think he’s processed that she didnt really have a choice, or thought at all about the repercussions of jj telling the truth. bringing up dilaudid was his way of saying “what if it got that bad? how miserable do i have to be to earn mercy, to earn the truth? do i have to risk ruining my life for you to be honest?”

idk. jj was doing what she could (what she had been ordered to do) to protect emily, so i dont blame her for keeping quiet. but reid is also entitled to his anger—it’s very fair of him to be upset at the perceived betrayal from a (supposedly) close friend. the problem is that jj is rejecting reid’s emotions for a second time, this time without reason. she expects him to be perfectly understanding and everything to go back to normal as if nothing has changed. but that’s her own fucked up little coping mechanism lol. im actually a big fan of this moment (even if they didnt provide any fucking context)

Chapter 2~the torn prince x femOC

Charlotte's pov

I followed Ely towards the basement while she called for her brother we whent down the stairs and luckily the basement was just other transparent doors and walls nothing that seemed tooo dangerous .

The lights were a bit more dimly in here wich gived a sort of creepy ambiance 

"SIMOON!!! " she yelled again and again ,nothing, silence well not exactly i heard very faint muffled sounds that came from the glass rooms to are sides "do you here that ?" I asked looking at Ely with a worried face but she kept looking down the hall curiously squinting her eyes in hopes to see something she then started walking

"cmon let's go"she said while keeping the same look on her face.

We walked down the hall I looked around me and the basement seemed to never end with its confusing glass halls that seemed to get darker in the distance.I kept hearing the very faint sounds coming from the glass rooms ,one seemed to whistle, but the sounds couldve easily been confused with pipes .

Suddenly we heard  the sound of tiny tires squeaking on the glass floor "SIMON" we both yelled in unison ,we jumped on him and hugged him tightly while he struggled and asked to be let go "Simon we told you to not go down here" Ely said while releasing him "but ve vent in uncles office" he looked a bit scared and mad while saying that"Simon not down here I was scared there could be something dangerous ,well I'm happy we found you mom would've killed me if she knew " I nodded in agreement while laughing lightly in unison 

"I wanna go, he's scaring me " Simon said while looking at his right "ho?" We both said togheter while looking in same direction as him "him " he was now pointing at the glass window we both looked at him weirdly "um ok ,let's go now " Ely took him by the arm and dragged him down the hall towards the stairs "bye" said Simon turning around towards the last glass room to the right ,we looked at echother with weirded out face.

Then Elys foot kicked something  it was some transparent lab glases that were right next to the stairs of the basement "oh some lab glasses" she picked them up and putted them on she posed funnily imitating a model ,I started laughing but then her expression changed to a horrified one and she screamed looking at something that was behind I quickly looked behind me ,nothing I turned back to her she was in tears backing away laying on the stairs .

Embers pov

I standed up and run towards the basement when I arrived my sister was crying laying on the stairs while wearing some science experiment glases while my brother tried reassuring her and  Charlotte looked at me with a worried look then back at my sister sitting down to hold her "what's wrong ?" Asked Charlotte "C-CANT U GUYS SE THEM???" "HO ARE U TALKING ABOUT ?"I said while looking in her same direction my sister yelped and threw the glases on the floor while standing up breathing heavily and running to the door where I just came from.

She turned around and looked at us baffled "WHAT?" I looked at her with a worried look "ELY PLS EXPLAIN TO US ?" said Charlotte rather in a calm but stern tone "your gonna think I'm crazy" "JUST TELL US !!!" I said angrily "fine ,fine...the glass room there "she said while pointing at it "when I putted the glases they made me see guy with half of his body was turned up and he held a bat on the other side I saw a dead kid with blood on his face... " I looked at Charlotte ho had already picked up the glases and was putting them "maybe theyr virtual reality glases?

But they don't seem to have batteries or anything..."I was interupted by the little yelp that Charlotte made while she putted them she them proceeded to throw them on the ground "OH yhea I saw him geez ,he swung the bat at the glass wall " I motioned my hand to pass me the glases ,she picked them up and gaved them to me .

I took a bit of time to look if there was a chip in them or something that would indicate some sort of technologie present ,nothing ,the two sides of the glases seemed made out of normal plastic instead the front seemed a bit different and more shiny.

I putted them on and sure enough was the guy my sister talked about yes half of his body was burned  but as I got closer to him  I could see his  other half a lot better that was a fine young man close to my age that seemed to look from the 50s I could tell that because of his remaining hair and his jacket .He looked like one of those stereotypical jocks that date those ponpon girls.  He let his bat swung lower .At first when I got closer to him while inspecting him he looked a bit angry but now his looked soften when he saw me looking at him .I know felt a bit shy while HE inspected me,then I saw his lips moving saying hi ,he now had a bit of a smirk ,I felt my checks heat up ,he kept smirking looking down and walking in his cell sometimes looking up at me,I was confused on what was he if this was virtual reality he looked real like very real .

I felt the girls looking at me , I turned around and whent ,um he's not that bad ,they both looked dumbfounded then my sister said "turn around you didn't see the kid " I turned and here was a kid that seemed to be the same age as my brother with an arrow sticking out of his head and blood running down on his nose ,he was wearing a vintage cowboy outfit .

He had a dead expression he looked like he just couldn't do it anymore, my older sister instinct kicked and I just suddendly felt worried for him ,he putted his hand on the glass and my brother ran up to me "We have to help him" I said looking back at the girls while my brother agreed moving his head up and down "Are u crazy, as you said maybe this is just a video game " said my sister "from the looks of it they look pretty real,they also clearly need hospitalization and help ,maybe Cyrus is a human trafficker,but why can we only see them with the glases? Is it an illusion? "I said worriedly looking around ranting at this point "Ember ,from the looks of it there pretty much dead ,nobody survives a burn like him also the kid's skin is almost blue " my mind was going threw the different options on wtf was all of this ,it's seemed as them being ghost was plausible since there outfits were a bit out of fashion but it didn't make any sense...well I did hear Cyrus being called a ghosthunter but that's the stuff in movies...

I then rememberd that my friend was going to pick me up and Cyrus was going to arrive in a few minutes "Guys uncle is coming back we should go upstairs we will see what we can do later "I looked back at the jock guy ho looked a bit disappointed with his hands in his pockets still looking at me intently .

I took off my glases pushed everyone outside of the room in a bit of a rush. Before they could say anything  we heard footsteps coming from the entry that were Cyrus's "you all now what you have to do "I looked at everybody that looked at me in fear and nodded. My phone started ringing ,it was Camilla my friend. I was a bit close to the basement door so I ran towards Cyrus and told him that Camilla was here to pick me up and I was going he told me to go on he would manage the kids .

As I whent outside towards my friends car I wrote to my sister to shut her mouth and to tell nothing to anybody including are parents .I then whent on in my friends car and had to act like nothing happend the whole night i felt stressed and thoughts were running threw my mind, I also couldn't get theater jock out of my head and I asked myself if he was even real .

i have some Thoughts about totk that i have to get out cause i watched zeltik's review and i agree so hard

obviously major spoilers ahead

so i wanna start by saying i absolutely LOVE totk and its easily my fave zelda game ever, with botw being in second. but i will say both games as incredible as they are definitely suffer from the nintendo treatment in that there are awesome moments that blow everything out of the water, and then there are some bad moments that can really bring them down. case in point for totk specifically, zelda's sacrifice and draconification brings me to tears every time and her final words give me goosebumps. but then the cutscenes after each dungeon are... literally copy and paste. like you play them together and its beat for beat the same ("demon king?? secret stone???" nintendo why....)

like i love the story and think they couldve really had something if they had put more effort in and not only fleshed it out more but delivered it better. the whole "find the memories that can be out of order" thing worked for botw cause you already knew the ending so they were mostly additions rather than the full story. but with totk you dont know the ending, you dont know what its all leading up to. there is a mystery to it all, and being able to basically walk up to the end without any other context just ruins that. its just a weird decision honestly

and this all makes it clear that 90% of the development time went to the gameplay. which isnt entirely a bad thing, the gameplay is fucking AWESOME. the world and the way you interact with it is seamless, they NAILED the atmosphere and sound design for every single thing. like the tense beginning as you get closer to ganondorf, the ancient and solemn sky islands and ruins, the creepy and unknown depths. diving down my first chasm, which wasnt the story one so there were NO lights waiting for me at the bottom, i got CHILLS. Falling further and further, the area getting darker and more gloom infested, to land in endless darkness in all directions and having "the depths" title appear onscreen. *chefs kiss*

tho that brings me to another point in that, like botw, totk suffers from "world too big" and there ends up being many pockets where theres just. nothing. maybe a korok, but those get boring after the first few. but theres so much that is just empty and bare that you wonder if they wouldnt have benefited from a smaller map. like i love open world games, and totk at least added caves to the surface world which helped, but theres really only so many random puzzles you can do before youve seen everything. the depths being an inverted hyrule is SO cool, but they didnt really do anything with it. aside from the camera quest and very brief yiga stuff, there really isnt any real reason to comb the depths, unless you need some zonaite or something. the dlc stuff being treasures you could find was neat, but also nearly every armor being the same as botw except for a couple extras was kinda a let down. the new dragon armors are so cool and unique, i wish they did more

the zonai. merely hinted at in botw through ruins and vague item descriptions. they were so mysterious and literally everyone was theorizing on them. and then we get a game that is going to explore it all! the mystery is going to be solved! .....except it wasnt. id almost argue we know LESS about the zonai than we did before. they supposedly descended from the heavens with magical artifacts and founded the kingdom of hyrule, and then when zelda travels back to this time, theres only 2 zonai left and they barely know anything about their own species??? like what?? its like the timeline between the first mural and the second is like. centuries. why are there only 2, where did the rest go? if they were there before the kingdom of hyrule, what did they do? WHY did they descend from the heavens? it feels like nintendo needed to explain where the new tech was from since it wasnt sheikah, so they just kinda made stuff up as they went to justify it. its as if the story was just built around the gameplay. which id honestly believe cause initially it was just supposed to be dlc for botw but they came up with too many ideas so just made a new game in the same world

which brings me to my next point. why was it marketed as the sequel to botw, when it basically did its hardest to pretend botw didnt even happen. the botw references were basically just that. references. not continuing the story or adding to it. its just "yea that happened and we're rebuilding now". the fact the developers literally just said "eh the sheikah tech just disappeared one day and no one knows why" like come ON. not to mention all of the important characters you directly affected in botw seemingly forgetting link exists within the 2-3 years between the games. the man who you paid to build your house doesnt even recognize you! HESTU doesnt recognize you, and youre one of like 3 people who can see him!! the people of HATENO where link literally LIVES dont recognize him!!!!!!!! WHY

i have more but this is already long. i have something else on ganondorf but ill make a separate post. anyway i do love this game with all my heart but nintendo has me scratching my head more often than not

they don't pretend to be "Good", or "fighting for Earth/humanity/etc". they LIKE that stuff. they don't CARE about it.

but Crowley and Aziraphale drove through the FUCKING BLITZ listening to music to drown out the hundreds of people dying around them, because they were so excited to go to a show.

they are omniscient beings. they are fully capable of lying and finding loopholes to do things they "Shouldnt". but did they lift a finger? nope.

they didn't know how basic human anatomy worked until the Resurrectionist/scientist guy told them. that means they probably never tried to heal anyone. they didnt KNOW that a human can be revived for a few minutes after their heart stops, and if they'd known that, they couldve saved that girl (forgot her name) who died. yes, humanity wouldnt have that knowledge until later either

...however, on a less "fuck all of these guys" note, the "No Nightengales" line really shocked me, like, way more than anything Aziraphale did in that scene (on a characterization level. I was FLOORED that Neil said the quiet part loud w how creepy their manipulation of Maggie & Nina was/how amoral Aziracrow are in general/etc).

bc that is, afaik, the first time that Crowley OR Aziraphale has mentioned a living thing, that isn't directly in front of them and that is not broadly "~humanity~", as not existing as a consequence of the apocalypse. and watching the scene, I think Crowley realized the same thing as he said it, and I think a lot of s2 was leading up to that.

Job, the Resurrectionist stuff, Maggie & Nina telling Crowley, JUST CROWLEY, that they aren't toys or puppets...

I think at the end of s2, AFTER Aziraphale made his choice, Crowley realized something way more important- that....things live on earth. things with thoughts and feelings and wants that aren't him or aziraphale.

like. humans are sentient. and animals also have a desire to exist

I hope this makes Crowley into a bit less of a dickbag in s3.

ive just had a thought. see ive been joking as much as the next person about the ineffable beurocracy getting their shit together after 3 dates while it took aziraphale and crowley since literally before time was invented BUT it's quite literally just privilege.

you saw the shot where aziraphale grabs crowley's shoulder just after beelzebub and gabriel declare their love--this level of visibility is unprecedented, and something he and crowley have never been able to afford. while they (and we) might have softened to not-gabriel throughout the season, the second gabriel is gabriel again, he uses his position and leaddrship weight as archangel to fuck right off with his beloved. which, good for him.

but to aziraphale and crowley, this is fucking bonkers information. they spent their entire existences compromising on their relationship in order to not...be compromised. and gabriel just up and speed-runs dating the enemy because the worst consequence he faces is getting fired. gabriel and beelzebub never face consequences for their relationship, so of course it goes off without a hitch. no one looking over your shoulder because you're the guy looking over everyone's shoulder.

while im thankful they fucked off to alpha centuri so i don't ever have to see gabriel's smug face again, i do wonder if the "going off together" is really the good relationship A & C ought to model. if it's a happy foil to miserable wee morag and her girlfriend from the minisodes, it's still not what i believe crowley and aziraphale are going to do.

they've spent all of time becoming increasingly codependent, and while that's fun and all for a while, crowley and aziraphale really need their little human mundanities. going on walks. getting dinner. going for a drive to blow off steam. their path is getting distinctly more human-looking, and i think someday they're going to have to reckon with the idea of letting other people into their lives.

to bring it back to my first point, i've just been thinking about WHY crowley and aziraphale are Like That, when we've been presented with a new couple who most certainly isn't, and it made me think about it in terms of power. they have leverage, but they built it for themselves by learning everything about earth their superiors didn't know, getting a leg up anywhere they can. gabriel and beezlebub don't need a leg up. they have it. they're stepping on your chest and brushing dust from their costs as you try to climb past the first stone.

you could also look at it like queer versus straight relationships. queer relationships are often by circumstance somewhat secretive and full of codes and longing glances and not-talking-about-your-feelings BECAUSE it might get you into trouble. straight relationships often don't have this problem (though they might have others relating to other intersecting & marginalized identities) so they can get straight away into the declaring it part.

TL;DR beezlebub and gabriel got hitched immidiately while it took crowley and aziraphale all of time to kiss because the ineffable beaurocracy has about a million times more power and a billion times less consequences for getting caught about it than the ineffable husbands do.
