They were leaning against a wall, escaping the too-bright sun, Gwaine telling some obnoxious story about how he once had stolen something from a mean-looking yet unbelievably drunk man, just to see how far he would run after him. All Merlin could do was roll his eyes in between laughs, not even bothering to ask for further explanations - he knew the knight would just shrug it off, call it nagging curiosity. Though Merlin was kind of tempted to poke at him, asking just how bored one had to be for such ideas, Gwaine had stopped talking, something changing in his features, eyes turning a little more serious. "Merls, how much do you trust me?" he asked, words quick-paced, gaze wandering, making Merlin just a tad suspicious.

"Uh, how are measuring this, because-," he began to look around himself, struggling to keep his attention on the question. "Would you do what I asked of you?" Merlin looked back at Gwaine, wary, a smile now back on the other's lips. "I, yeah? I- It depends, what-," Gwaine leaned in closer, close enough that Merlin could probably count his eyelashes if he wanted to - not that he was thinking about it, or had thought about it before. The knight was still smiling, but it wasn't reaching his eyes quite like earlier, so Merlin made another attempt at looking around, before: "Merlin," the knight began, quickly glancing to the side, making the warlock shift his focus, and-, "kiss me, quick!" Merlin had just about enough time to give him a look of confusion before Gwaine leaned in even closer, noses touching. "Actually, we can just stay like this, if you don't mind, you don't have to, you know," he was breathing a little heavier, it was barely noticeable, but Merlin was a little desperate to focus on something, anything, so he caught it. It did not take the other long to respond, melting closer - if that's even possible - before spinning them around so Merlin's back was now to the wall. All the threats in the world couldn't help him remember how long they stayed like that - the rush of Gwaine's words bleeding into the kiss, his arms on Merlin's waist, pulling, the same way Merlin was still pulling at his shirt. Eventually, though, they did part, staring at each other for a moment, still close. By all accounts, Merlin was sure his eyes were more questioning than Gwaine's, even if he had been the one to make the first move. "The man, something, uh, green around his belt, rough looking, scar above his eyebrow, is he still there?" the knight asked, quietly, glancing back at his lips somewhere in the middle of the sentence, almost making Merlin lose his train of thought. He peeked around Gwaine, looking for the man, scanning the people walking by. "Nope, I think you're good," he replied, giving a weak laugh, as he let his head fall back against the wall behind him. "Ah, well, that's good then," Gwaine smiled, teeth and all, before leaning back in and planting another kiss - much shorter this time - on his lips, "thanks." Once the other had moved away, his own back pressed against the wall now too, Merlin turned his head to look at him, clearing his throat: "Do you want to tell me what that was about?" "Just a man that may or may not hold a grudge against me." "A grudge?" he gasped, "Against you? That's just-" Gwaine cut him off by bumping Merlin's shoulder with his own, the two of them laughing. "Don't tell me you were afraid, Gwaine," Merlin pressed. "Oh, Merls, you know I'm a lover, not a fighter," he beamed. Merlin just looked at him, unamused. "Besides, my ribs are kind of sore from training this morning," Gwaine placed a hand on his left side for effect, eyes squinting. I gotta admit, I fully did NOT realize Asha was even a Thiren until I friend pointed out her ears. the ears just blend right into the hair, and honestly her "fur" color is not outside the realm of Hoyo's typical, vampirically-pale skintones. she doesn't even have a tail, like what the hell was I supposed to think 😭

anyways, I actually struggled a bit with her outfit, so a friend helped me brainstorm some initial ideas. Asha just looks so boring compared to the other store owners, and I HATE her color palette, but I couldn't figure out how to maintain the "gamer" aesthetic while spicing it up a bit more. but I think we came up with something nice here~

I often think about how back then it was way worse. Like ah yes, I'm a Victorian child born into a lower class family and I'm forced to labour all my life living in the streets of London or something. Of course, you don't have food or water or any source of hygiene to begin with. The worst part is..water quality was so bad back then that if you don't have drinking water; people just drink beer instead.

Imagine your 6 year old daughter working her life off mining in a cave with starvation since yesterday and you have to just give her MORE beer to fill her stomach 😭 like oh GOD that's miserable..

and after all that, im surprised the diseases we get now are more "dangerous" than back then. Mind you, people in the 1800s or 1700s had like NO technology to even think of finding a cure. Like damn you didn't even invent a microscope YET. <- I'll educate you a bit about history..the first microscope as a CONCEPT was made by a Dutch man named Zacharias Janssen all the way back in 1590!!! But the first MODERN microscope that we know nowadays with all the different lenses and even coloured was in 1774. That's like almost 2 centuries later...and incase you haven't focused in your 7th grade science class, the first atomic theory was in 1804. If you understand where I'm going with this, we humans are slow as HELLL.

I'm mentioning all of this saying dude...you're telling me people back then had some deadly diseases, couldn't cure it, DIED on streets, and didnt even GET quarantine.

Talking about generation...which I bet everyone is sick of me talking about..but like dude would our generation survive if we just got a time machine to the 17th century. HOWEVER compare the average human who sits on bed all day scrolling and laughing at a glowy rectangular shaped decide called a phone...we would not last a day without internet...at least I know I wouldn't 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

So like...think about it. Why is corona so dangerous?? It's only borderline to older diseases. Or maybe it's the other way around. Corona itself is DEADLY, but it's just the situation and life style we have today that makes me wonder why it's harmless. Like cough cough I got covid oh no!!! I can just stay in my home all day.. like you get what I mean?? I'm sure you would just get back to work if you were unfortunately lower class victorian child and had covid..and dying probably gives you more peace than working a lifetime for 10 cents..

thoughts on speak now tv?

*nervously* lots of thoughts

well when i came online i saw a lot of people being negative and it made me so nervous

OPENING NOTES OF MINE and everything in my life was drowned out i'm 11 years old and it felt like the first time again

the production is so powerful with the og tracks thank you christopher rowe!!

you know I was so excited for the strings throughout the album and they are even better than I could've thought! in back to december and haunted they felt so much more powerful!

and innocent 😭 you know it's my favourite track and it's so perfectly rerecorded there's small differences like the ha ha haa sound softer before the bridge but it fits so well with her vocals!

the vocals on the og speak now have always been my favourite vocals before we got folk/more and she really delivered! there's a few times where she's sung higher on og like "this is looking like a contest" and "horrified looks" I noticed them instantly the small difference but taylors singing voice is one of my favourite voices and she sounds beautiful on the little note changes i've noticed!

the backing vocals i wasn't expecting the male voice because she didn't do it on fearless tv and i love her harmonising with herself but on second listen they blend in well but the haunted echoes on the verses were jarring at first but the production is too powerful so it cancels out for me lol but i understand the mixed reaction to that song (that song only tho because some people are saying they don't like tsou tv and how not????) also her lower register is in last kiss was sooo!!!!!

what made me feel so happy and impressed was how light she could make her voice sound on mean and speak now and long live and ours especially!! it's making me excited for her debut vocals even more!

so that's where i'm like they're not bad but they're just not giving the full speak now experience

lyrically they're good but the production is so lackluster on all of them I had low expectations (mainly for aaron and no faith in jack) but they both didn't deliver enough! they're really said electric guitar little drumming in the back we're done when that's not all speak now production is like! speak now production is full and grand and atmospheric and none of these tracks build up that tension! even some of the vocals and melodies I don't think fit well like the way she sings electric touch softly makes it more pop sounding than how sparks fly brings the belting! the passion! and when emma falls in love is so cute but it needed that strumming and bounciness that ours has and even listening to superman the production fills it up but I can see you it still feels flat!

and castles crumbling there's not enough build up towards hayley's verse or towards the bridge i think it needed to be more like innocent full orchestra production or the way haunted is darker and in the bridge it strips it back and you can feel the swell of music!! foolish one is the one I don't like in full sorry but timeless it's lyrically so good but the production again it's like don't you which is not speak now vibe! we've got balads in speak now we've got back to december and last kiss and last kiss the instrumentation in that would marry so well with the timeless lyrics! ending in the antique shop and starting in the college working part time waiting tables is genius but when you listen to them back to back you can feel how much atmosphere mine has that timeless lacks!

It's bittersweet and it's sad because lyrically they're great but they also feel like afterthoughts and I just wish the whole team had actually immersed themselves more in those details to give us the full speak now theatrics and experiment and push the boundaries (why couldn't christopher rowe co produce with them) with the production like I can see you take out the electric guitar and what do you have left? and you can feel that with the tracks each of the have produced in the vault it's just disaapointing because lyrically they match speak now I don't want them to sound like they could be on folklore or 1989 😭 electric touch castle crumbling and timeless are the better vault tracks but they could've been so much more toooo

BUT THE OG TRACKS THEY'VE COME BACK TO ME SO GRAND!! literally all I've done is have mine dear john and innocent on repeat since last night god innocent is absolutely perfect it's my fave track from the first six albums and it's my fave rerecorded track!!! I'm really happy with the original album and it hasn't been nice seeing all these mixed opinions especially from people who didn't even like speak now anyway so it's giving them a chance to voice them again whereas red and fearless tv releases it was mostly positive (and people purposely being dense about what the rerecording are and what they're doing clearly some people are tired but don't take it out on speak now)

4. he's a cat!! he purrs whenever he's asleep and it gets me to bed so quickly... and then he always waits for me to wake up after him in the morning (i am not a morning person. he is and he has to wait like a couple hours cus he doesn't wanna wake me up early 😭😭)

5. i am a math wiz, puss doesn't know what 2+2 is. unfortunately to make up for this i have like no adventuring experience and i wanna go with him so bad :( but puss tries his best to train me so that one day we can conquer the world together!

6. we're basically opposites in fashion taste, puss loves his hat and boots and not saying i don't love it too but i don't like the concept of me wearing it 😅the one thing we agree on is that capes (cloaks in my case) look sick as hell. food wise puss will eat anything i am extremely picky and anytime i don't like a food he will go all "what how could you not like [food]?!??!" every time without fail

7. puss has always been the more talkative one and it shows. whenever puss is feeling down i just let him talk at me and if i'm ever feeling down he asks me so many questions about what happened it's almost overwhelming. what we share in common is that we both LOVE hugs and will just hug it out all the time

8. i don't really have a rival f/o... i guess maybe death? but puss kinda made up with him already and it's not like death is going to be here any time soon

9. i actually really like how he is in canon 😭 i love him the way he is i wouldn't change a thing about him (well excluding one headcanon which is...)

11. it's amazing but i might be biased since puss is here... puss usually does all the cooking because i'm so picky i just don't know food. i do most of the cleaning cus he does so much for me and i'll try to stop him from helping me if he ever offers cus i don't want him doing even more... in the downtime between us doing anything we'll usually just sit down and cuddle with each other ❤️fortunately he doesn't have a "job" to go to, since he's a hero the city lets him live here for basically free. puss gets enough money from just appearing in public to afford everything we need for months. though he will go on the occasional adventure every couple weeks

12. dirt. its literally just dirt and nothing else. he keeps going on adventures and getting dirty and he'll come home just covered in dirt. but if there's ever an important occasion he has a cologne he picked out with me that smells like cinnamon

13. he hasn't actually changed much since the events of the last wish! still does all the good ol showoffy stuff whenever he's in public, you really can only tell he changed whenever it gets real dangerous.

14. puss is extremely extroverted and outgoing and i am very much not. he keeps trying to take me on outings and tries to get me to be a little more vocal and it's kinda working!! baby steps! but something we both have in common is that we're both unorganized (though him more than me)... we always try to sort everything out at the house but neither of us can bother 😭 we're used to it though so it's a non-issue

15. puss gets really heated but can usually calm himself, i am not good with conflict at ALL but puss tries to help me calm down too. it works, i mean how can i be mad with this lovely cat in front of me?? though on the rare occasion i'm really passionate about something i will not back down and puss eventually either gives in or tries the cute eyes thing... it usually works...... i mean, how am i supposed to resist that????

16. puss introduced me to imelda (his caretaker at the orphanage he grew up) and she was lovely! she even showed me cute pictures of puss back when he was a baby 🤭 aside from that i've met team friendship too! perrito was nice and kitty joked around with puss about us a lot

17. ok lore speedrun i only knew puss through folktales/legends etc. and i heard about a party he was supposed to be throwing nearby that was really soon. i decided to go and i was OBSESSED. i knew he was cool, but somehow he managed to be even cooler than i thought. this is probably where the crush started but i didn't recognize it at the time. i would've gone to every party he threw in the country but i knew he came to this town pretty often, so i just went to the ones here. after a while i managed to get close to him and ask him if i might be able to go on an adventure with him. it was all i wanted at the time, even if it was a mini adventure or something. at first he said he couldn't or his schedule was full or whatever, but i was so desperate i kept asking and asking... and somehow it worked. he told me maybe, but he'd need more time to figure something out. a couple days later i got a letter saying that he decided i could go with him on one small thing he had planned that wouldn't take too much time, and i was ecstatic to say the least. however it mentioned i would need some training first and gave me a spot to meet up. i got a whole get up and a weapon so i would be prepared for the training and after we stopped, puss said it would be easier if i stayed in town for a while so we could get training earlier. a couple days of training later i finally confessed, and after the mini adventure i was supposed to leave but he caught feelings too... we've been dating ever since :)

18. my favorite will always be the shrek canon/last wish canon timeline but i still love taopib puss. f/o wise i treat them differently but comfort character wise it's still puss and he's still silly ❤️ i also really like puss dos from taopib. not in a f/o way but he's so autism you can't hate him (ignore that puss dos isn't actually puss he's a genetic clone technically but IT STILL COUNTS!!!)
