Impossible things are happening every day! . . The Brandy & Whitney Houston version of the Cinderella musical was one of the coolest things I remember seeing as a kid bc it was a different (and more diverse!) take on the story I knew so well from the Disney animated film. I remember loving Brandy’s blue ball gown so much. So it was really special to see that dress in person as part of the HEROES & VILLAINS exhibit at #D23Expo! . . The exhibit had costumes from so many movies & shows, but the 1st section focused on #costumedesign for 1 character, CINDERELLA, by 4 different designers. Besides the Brandy Cinderella dress, there was the jewel 💎 blue dress of Cinderella in the TV show Once Upon a Time (slide 2), the dreamy gown worn by Lily James in the live-action Cinderella (slide 3), & the completely different dress (and shoes!) worn by the Cinderella of Into the Woods (slide 4-5). . . . Avengers, assemble! Visited the annual FIDM Art of Motion Picture Costume Design exhibit to see the gorgeous costume work from last year’s movies. The Oscar-winning BLACK PANTHER costumes stole the show at this exhibit (slide 3), but it was cool to see even some familiar pieces like the Avengers costumes up close. And I’d somehow forgotten the beautiful gowns from the Ocean’s 8 Met Gala scene. . . .
