So, today I was in Times Square and saw a Microsoft ad that really prominently featured the aro flag. I like to pretend I'm not someone to freak out over seeing my own flag anymore, but like, the idea that aromanticism is important enough for Microsoft to show it in Times Square? Yeah. That blew me away. So I looked up the full ad (it was a much smaller variant in Times Square) and. Woah. Someone at Microsoft knows their queer microlabels. I never expected to see the neurogender flag in the marketing for an evil company?
Like. Pangender and polygender. Androromantic and gynoromantic. Transneutral. Graygender. Maverique. Neutrois. Unlabeled. Ambiamorous. Diamoric. Pomosexual. Intergender. Xenogender. Aporagender. Egogender. Hijira. None of these are identities I'd expect to see used by goddamn Microsoft.
There is exactly one Microsoft employee who I worship and who isn't getting paid enough.
Full labelling and breakdown of flags below, courtesy of @the-crystalized-cosmos. Only after they did all the work of figuring out all the flags and labeling them did I learn that microsoft also did that themselves here. And that version is slightly bigger, revealing flags that aren't in this version: transfeminine, aroflux, gender neutral, and multigender.
I swear I'm not a Microsoft shill. Fuck Microsoft. But like, this is I think the best corporate pride art I've ever seen, and anything with this many flags in it is guaranteed to make me excited. I just really, really, really like flags.

Dear one, I’m so excited and have no one to blab to other than my husband, but since you are ✨The Queen✨ I choose you.
I had a consult today with a different surgeon for my augmentation/lift and it was a WAY better experience than my first.
New surgeon said I don’t need a lift, and was helpful, fun, and engaged during our consult. We’re doing 400ccs, either Nov or Dec depending on my work travel schedule.
So happy, so thrilled with what’s to come.
Xoxo
AHHHHHH!!!! Mrs. Satoru Gojo i am SO excited for you 😭💕🎀
Can we talk shop for a second?
1.) When a plastic surgeon says you don’t need a lift, i need you to know you are God’s Chosen One. This is code for your nipple-areolar complexes are perfectly placed in relation to the rest of your breast tissue. Ptosis? Sagging? Gravity?? You don’t know her 🙂‍↕️
2.) I just did a 650 cc dual plane breast augmentation for a transfeminine patient a couple days ago and it was a amazing. She looked incredible. The hill I’m dying on: breast augs are top 5 cosmo procedures in our field.
Im so, SO excited for you gorgeous 💋

people know our brain is terminal for Transformers and Steamworlds but they don't know we're also terminal for the discussion and imagining of "trans geographies" as portrayed in the comic Swandive released in the speculative fiction graphic novel Aspara Engine by Bishakh Som centered on South Asian transfemininity. Please go read it. It's so beautiful.
if you want to after you read it try to do it yourself with some more structure if it helps we highly recommend the cooperative narrative game Ex Novo where you (and possibly other people) generate a polity together with the help of some rules for phases and turns, and you can then use what you created for other stories if you want. That said the simply taking turns imagining and drawing and discussing as presented in Swandive works just fine we did things like that in our youth with friends prior to acquiring a trans lens. Thus also no surprise that we've dreamed of running Ex Novo with some friends for years.
With everything going on, we think we will at least run it with ourselves this weekend, as a reflection, a ritual of transformation, a galvanization of drive and hope, sometime in the last three days of June this year. We have managed to come so far in finding our way in life again that we are more ready to face the numbers of whatever good and bad the future holds than we have been for a while, but even at our worst a relentlessness and attempts to hold on to pluralistic wisdom and grow it carried us forward.
Carry Pride in your souls onwards past June. For us, it never ends. It is the stuff of life, in a long line of celebration of sapient variation and iteration within and reflected by a much larger world of varied life, and a truly vast universe with more than any one person will ever know. There is a liberation and solidarity to find in that, that we are irreducible, that people across variation can come together for collective autonomy, for celebration, for love, for empathy, for community, for curiosity, for friendship. we love and appreciate you all. no matter how bad things get, no reactionary hierarchy can ever hope to get rid of variation unless they destroy life itself, and they can likely never do so across the entire cosmos, and certainly never the memories of us that metaethical love and aesthetics inherently have by definition

Assessment two:
Artists of interest: WU TSANG Los Angeles filmmaker Wu Tsang is a Chinese-Swedish-American video artist whose work combines activism and community organising. Identifying as "transfeminine and transguy", Tsang documents queer and trans community stories, often working alongside other members such as art radical – and another notable creative breaking down the gender binary – boychild. In the video Green Room, Tsang tells of a transgender woman who recounts leaving persecution in Honduras for Los Angeles and finding sanctuary in a local bar. The work sheds light on the troubling journeys that gender non-conformists must go through. https://youtu.be/ZfLgLWaxKJE JACOLBY SATTERWHITE Brooklyn-based artist Jacolby Satterwhite' work merges performance, 3D animation, crossdressing, and his own personal history as a black, queer person. At this year’s Whitney Biennial he presented a surrealist performance piece called Reifying Desire, in which Satterwhite was strapped into a harness, taking up Kama Sutra positions with porn star Antonio Biaggi while a giant digitised tree magically carried them around a colorful cosmos. This is Satterwhite exploring potential narratives of his queerness in a surrealist performance universe. https://youtu.be/FkmJGMaA5Pk CARLOS MOTTA Carlos Motta is a multi-disciplinary artist who creates counter narratives for suppressed histories, communities, and identities. The Colombian-born artist explores the idea of sexual and gender "difference" within the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, and queer community. Motta’s video art piece We Who Feel Differently was based on 50 interviews with academics, artists, politicians, and researchers, promoting a "concept of equality that provides for greater personal freedom." long post; shortened version here
okay... as you all know, i've made transfem and transmasc flags in the past. but i'm not that proud of them. they were cool, and looked nice, but didn't have any real meaning and were on the fly. i just had a few colors in mind.
well, today, i was searching for transfem and transmasc flags that i could use that weren't agab exclusive (i.e. only for amab transfems or afab transmascs). that proved difficult; for one, there just weren't any.
if i found any, they were intersex exclusive (not a bad thing, intersex people deserve their own terms, it's just that i'm personally perisex.) if not intersex exlusive, the terminology didn't click. and if not that, i didn't like the flags; if you know me, you probably know i'm not a big fan of "blue = masculinity, pink = femininity."
there's honeybee transfem. hornet, coffee bean, and bumblebee transmasc. but i didn't like those terms either. they didn't really click with me.
as far as i know, there was no symbolism for choosing a honeybee, and the flag's stripes were meaningless. not a bad thing, of course! i make flags with meaningless stripes too, or if they have meaning, i never say what they are unless i'm asked. but... it just wasn't what i was looking for, you know?
so, i'm once again making my own trans flags. i hope you all can find some use out of them. yapfest over, i present to you: my space themed trans flags. these are not trans flags related to space or genders related to space, but rather, space is uses as symbolism, like how honeybee transfems dont inherently have genders related to honeybees.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
cosmos transfeminine
a transfeminine term that is not meant to be agab focused. anyone can use this, as long as they identify as transfeminine in some way. transfeminine here means "transitioning towards femininity."
stripe meanings:
yellow: solidarity amongst all trans people.
pastel purple: perisex transfeminine people
darker pastel purple: intersex transfeminine people
bright blue: nonbinary transfeminine people
blue: femininity, and all ways of expressing it.
dark blue: pride in transness, femininity, and being transfeminine
Tumblr media Tumblr media
cosmos transneutral
a transneutral term that is not meant to be agab focused. anyone can use this, as long as they identify as transneutral in some way. transneutral here means "transitioning towards neutrality."
stripe meanings are the same as above; trade transfeminine for transneutral, and femininity for neutrality.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
cosmos transmasculine
a transmasculine term that is not meant to be agab focused. anyone can use this, as long as they identify as transmasculine in some way. transmasculine here means "transitioning towards masculinity."
stripe meanings are the same as above; trade transfeminine for transmasculine, and femininity for masculinity.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
cosmos transgender
an alternative transgender flag based on cosmos transfem, cosmos transneu, and cosmos transmasc. anyone can use this, as long as they identify as trans in some way
stripe meanings
blue: to represent the vastness of the gender spectrum; that there is no gender binary
purple: to represent the vastness of the sex spectrum; that there is no sex binary
pastel blue; to represent transness, in any capacity, in any amount
these flags are for anyone to use; whether genderfluid, genderstatic, perisex, intersex, afab transfem, amab transmasc, etcetera.
i applied meaning to the transfeminine flag first because it was the first in the set i made.
---
the reason i chose to make my flags based after space is because space is vast, infinite, it's filled with many different things.
it rarely stays the same; the universe is constantly changing, flowing, fluctuating, whether just on earth by our own presence, or by moving, like how the planets orbit the sun. just how gender can be vast, and infinite, and ever changing.
at first, i was originally gonna go with starry trans[blank], because there's many different stars, just like there's many different trans people; that meaning still applies, too.
