Secret Book series (Flash game)

I finally decided to do a post about this. How you can play the game in this year with no problems at all. Personally, I never played these series in what I like to call "my Flash childhood", but I already went through the whole series and 100% would recommend to have a good time.

What is secret book you may ask? A simple hidden-object series, where you click on things and help this girl called Celine to escape from a fantasy world. The whole story is divided in three chapters, and each chapter is a different game. Here's how to play each one plus some tips. I may do a rating of the games later with a post full of my opninions because yes.

Secret book 1:

This is the easiest one to found. I send the Y8 link to it, so you can use the Y8 app to play it. I haven't installed it myself, but from what I heard, it's safe. But sadly, it only seems able to run Y8 games, and the third secret book game of the series isn't available in the site, so it becomes useless once you already beat the second game.

I made a link with the .swf file of the games and the Adove Flash Player to be able to play them, so you can download them directly.

If you don't trust it, you can find in internet how to download the Adove Flash Player and how to download the .swf file directly from the browser. (It's easier than what you think, but sometimes it doesn't work because the site is weird or something).

Another way is using an outdated browser that still supports Flash in order to play it, like some old Firefox version.

The thing I use to download the games is this one to don't have to search for it in the website thingy in case you want it. It's for Firefox. I don't know any other alternative for other browsers, sadly :c .

so yeah cool game. I think it's the most diffucult of the series. The other two are easier (for me).

Secret Book 2

The second part of the story! You keep playing as Celine, who is still looking for a way home in this fantasy land

tip: There are some buttons that tend don't work well (for example, the "play" botton in each sub-chapters of the game). Try pressing under the word play, because for some odd reason it tends to glitch whenever you slide the mouse over the word. The same for the third chapter.

Secret Book 3:

The adventure is about to end, would you help Celine again?

I'm not posting the Y8 website ver, since it doesn't exist sadly. But you can download the .swf from here, luckily.

3 - Least favorite case?

Nooooo why the hard questions 😔😔

Okay the standard answer and by far the worst is B*g T*p obviously, but other than that,,, for TGAA I think the second Soseki case. It was so dreary and kept dragging - to be fair the case right after is the juicy stuff so it was filler but still :/

I also didn't really enjoy Turnabout Samurai OKAY HEAR ME OUT the investigations were so painful I had no clue what to do next?? Also the witnesses were probably some of the creepiest (S*l M*nella, Oldbag), instant no <3

13 - Which 'superpower' do you find most fun?

MOOD MATRIX!! Oh my gosh I love it so much, both how it functions story wise and mechanics wise (also Athena beloved)

I really do like Polly's perceive but it was lowkey painful to do 🙂

18 - Is there a point you got really stuck on?

For a lot of the investigations in the main trilogy I was hopelessly wandering around trying to figure out what on earth the game wanted me to do 💀

Also in aai the FRICKIGN. FOREIGN MINISTER BOSS VILLAIN ARGH HE WAS SO ANNOYING I wasn't stuck per se but it was blegh

26 - Level with me, which murder plot in the series was the most stupid?

Discounting the whole B*g T*p case, probably Recipe for Turnabout? Most of the characters were nicely written but the case itself was so strange and sort of all over the place idk it just wasn't the vibe

28 - If you could make one more character in the game playable, who would it be?

I'm assuming Athena and Susato don't count because they both had a case where we played as them, in which case I think I'd choose Maya Fey. Okay hear me out not only do I love her but also it seems so fun and the summoning spirits would be a cool possible mechanism

I also really like the idea of Ema Skye being playable because Ema beloved <3333 and investigating 👀

for the blorbo quiz - gonna throw Danganronpa V1 and 2 back at ya hehe (not V3 because I'm a slow gamer 😔 sorry bae)

Bae!! Hehe Danganronpa beloved

Blorbo (favourite character, character I think about the most) - again we are starting off hard, why would you ask ME (a bisexual libra) to choose anything??? Hmm but ones that I particularly love,,,, Sakura Oogami from v1 and Ibuki Mioda from v2 (what can I say, I love women <33). Sakura deserved SO MUCH BETTER and honestly I'm surprised they didn't BUTCHER her character considering when she was written, also I wanna be just like her she's my idol. IBUKI ON THE OTHER HAND,,,,, I will gently Hold Hands with her she's so great

Skrunkly (my baby, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped) - I'm going to be yelled at I know it but my skrunkly is Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu. HNNG HE'S JUST SO *squishes face* y'know?? And he has CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT??? Fantastic, brilliant

Scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave) - hmmm not really anything as an underappreciated character methinks buuuut it would probably be Komaru Naegi she's not v1 or 2 but STILL I love her sm <33333 if I chose one from the two games tho, Mahiru Koizumi. Not many artists/writers that I know of write about her (and with good reason the game killed her off and gave us NO RIGHTS)

Glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won't shut up about it for a week) -

Poor little meow meow (problematic/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave) - Fuyuhiko deserves to go here too ngl BUT if I chose another pathetic character it would be Hajime Hinata. Continuing my trend of putting the mc in this category but like. THE MOST pathetic characters in both games is the mc and I like Hajime he's sooo funny he's gay he's homophobic he's rude he will punch you he hates violence he thought about killing

Horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason) - ah yes. The name I thought would have come up a LOT SOONER considering my love for him, the one, the only,,,, NAGITO KOMAEDA! I torment him so much he deserves it (affectionate)

Eeby Deeby (character I would send to superhell) - there were definitely a few characters I didn't really like BUT I think superhell award would go to Hiyoko Saionji something about her really irks me
