I was reading the Orphic Argonautica last night and the author has mentioned the various methods of divination Apollo knows and guess what? One of them is prophesying by studying the entrails of organisms. As soon as I read that I was reminded of your headcanon of Apollo being into hepatoscopy for divination and I giggled.

Hehe, so fun fact, the overall practice of divination by studying the entrails of animals (including blood, lungs, intestines and so forth) is extispicy while hepatoscopy is specifically using the liver in prophecy and divination readings.

If, like magic in old text exactly like the sort Medea is described as using, the types of divination spoken about in the texts are reflections of the popular divination cultures of the time, I much rather prefer ascribing those to Apollo than I do some vague, somewhat mysterious power which he uses to see the will of the fates, especially since it's mentioned a few times that he'll teach his sons the language of the birds and how to read their signs and so on and so forth.

In short: HEPATOSCOPY APOLLO IS COOL!! HE'S SO NEAT!! Apollo at the altar who predicts the coming droughts and famines from the entrails of his flock!! It's just such a neat little image (to me)!

Also the Orphic Argonautica bangs, genuinely I hope you enjoy it! Orpheus is an insane man and I do not think him along with the collective subspecies of mythical man known as 'sons of Apollo' get enough credit for how truly unhinged they are at any given point in time.

Do you know what's really annoying?

When you call someone or something not human, people always assume you mean less than human. Which is stupid because of the majority of the time, I don't mean less than human or even more than human, I mean different from human. But the average person's tendency is to put humanity up on a pedestal as greater, which in their mind, makes different from humanity inherently lesser than humanity. Which is stupid and annoying and I hate it.

Something else I doodled a few days ago, but didn't upload because I felt "...meh" about it. But I can kinda see some stuff from Undertale and Deltarune being into cosmetics for Sky. (GIVE. ME. SPAMTON GLASSES. AND PAPYRUS'S SCARF!!!!)

Toriel would/should TOTALLY be the guide while also having a role as protective goat mama in the quests.

It's interesting that the decided main source of fucked up ness has been Ashton taking the shard over Fearne, despite Fearne literally stating that she thinks the shard belongs to Ashton in the clock tower. (And also her fear of becoming evil Fearne. That chat with Delilah the night before certainly wouldn't have helped her mental state)

I think the actual source of fucked up ness is that Ashton made Fearne essentially promise to watch them die and not get any help no matter what, all while claiming it was because they didn't want her Nana Morri to be left alone. (Also a note that Fearne was on board with it being Ashton, but started second guessing it when she realized Ashton wanted to keep it secret. I'm thinking that was the moment Fearne really realized what Ashton had asked her to do)

Funnily enough the earlier comment Chetney made to FCG about why he's still around really applies here. Sure, Ashton is fine, happy even, if other people are helped by their actions. But really they just want to be the hero. (to be more than a Nobody, perhaps?)

Ashton certainly likes Fearne, but if they loved her in the way she seemingly loves them, he'd never have put her in that situation.

Regardless of the long term outcome, a truly wild choice. It is fully in character for Ashton to blow past all warning signs like they're DW in an Arthur meme.

So, let me get this straight…

- The latest EA earnings call indicated that DA4 won't be out before April 2024.

- EA seems to favor relatively short marketing campaigns these days, if we're looking at how Jedi Survivor or Dead Space started to be advertised around 6-8 months before release. (Also, BioWare has probably learned their lesson with Anthem, when they showed stuff way too early.)

- Jeff Grubb says that DA4 is currently targeting Summer 2024 and is not expecting it to be announced this summer, yet people are speculating that DA4 might release on DAI's 10th anniversary in November 2024.

- All this considered, I just can't see them showing something until maybe the Game Awards in December? :/

- HOWEVER, the date of the pre-sale for the vinyl is now (apparently) tomorrow June 8th, coinciding with Summer Game Fest. Which, oddly enough, marks now the second time this happened, when it was previously said to start at May 10th, the same date that the finale volume of The Missing came out (...yet nothing was released that day and no one knows what happened there? lol) Which is why people are now thinking this can't possibly be a coincidence and there will be something at Summer Game Fest. lol

- The Missing comic was marketed as a direct tie-in to DA4, but if the game is still more than one year away/marketing won’t begin any time soon, then I’m just wondering why they would even do such a build up *now*? In conclusion: I'm just so damn confused at this point and I have no flippin clue what/when/why something’s gonna happen anymore. 😂 ......Am I going to watch every single one of these live gaming showcases anyway?

do the pheromones make everyone go crazy, or do they just smell? is it like someone wearing overly strong perfume or having really bad BO in that it makes everyone deterred or is it like someone smelling ridiculously good and while bystanders aren't going crazy they are being drawn in like a dog who smells a particularly interesting pissed-on fire hydrant? is there a reason or is it just sexism? is there even sexism in mgv?

the scent of someone in their cycle isn't necessarily a good or bad smell, it's more just a cue that this person's in prime babymaking mode. some people don't mesh so their senses will enforce this incompatibility by making their scents unpleasant to one another. scents themselves aren't like perfumes in that you can pinpoint things like citrus and cedarwood or whatever as having a scent is mostly informational. as having a scent is part of the autonomic nervous system, people can control what scents they put out to a small degree, otherwise being as basic as having a heartbeat and breathing.

information carried in the scents are like cues that detail the state of the person in a single second. ex: when house's leg acts up, his scent sours with frustrated/hurts/not okay/mad that he couldn't hide if he wanted to. so someone in heat or rut will put off notes to clue others in to how receptive they are. as a whore (affectionate) wilson eats up the attention others give him when he's nearing rut, made worse by his scent giving everyone interested in him signals of 'maybe this one' (this adjusts accordingly once house and wilson are bondmates; he still likes the attention but his scent will decline for him as he's not interested in cheating on house of all people)

a person's scent does get stronger for their cycle, and that makes their scent carry more like perfume; oderous and having a range to spread before it dissipates as a signal that this person's Ready.

doctors, btw, are required to wear scent blocking patches as PPE and are strongly encouraged to do so during work hours anyway. house tends not to as some cases require his scent as an omega to test theories and symptoms -- because of course some of their cases in mgv would be directly tied to the fact that this takes place in the mgv -- buuut if he's feeling particularly exposed (particularly around his heats) he'll wear one for himself. wilson's much better about it but he's not putting himself or his patients in distress by scent as the worst it can do is make someone undergoing chemo nauseous the same way even the best food can make you sick if you have a stomach bug. princeton-plainsborough is still full of medical malpractice don't worry the main characters will get excuses to do their own thing just like they do on the show

And then Cyberpunk 2077 requires a full day in advance of any actual gameplay to update shit when I decide to install it because I play with so many dozens of mods that I’ve forgotten what vanilla tastes like and don’t care to remember.

Tbf to Hopes, i find it somewhat misguided to use the 1 and 2-star reviews it got on Amazon as representative of it's overall reputation among the JP fandom; those average out at 6% of the reviews of the game, leaving 94% of people who were ambivalent/positive towards the game.

the amazon reviews are only a staple of the jp fanbase who bought and played nopes!

However, I think the game's price dropping very fast on Amazon JP at least and the lack of post release content speaks volumes, imo, about how the game was received by the JP fandom.
