It was snowing today. But that didn't deter the crow to delicately peal a peanut. I always find it fascinating how they do it and how they make sure to get rid of the thin skin before eating the nuts.

Note
I know barely anyone has seen this bird irl since it’s been extinct in the wild since 2002, but have you done the ‘Alalā ( hawaiian crow ) ? They are currently the most endangered corvid species ( about 120 individuals as of january 2024 ), I would die for them and I want everyone to know about them
Absolutely!!!

BOTD: Fish Crow
Tumblr media
Photo: David Chernack
"Like a smaller edition of the American Crow, but with a more nasal voice, and typically found near water, the Fish Crow is very common in parts of the southeast. On the coast, it hunts in salt marshes and tidal flats, and scavenges on the beach. Inland, it ranges through swamps and along rivers. In recent decades it has extended its range farther and farther inland in some areas, especially on the Atlantic coastal plain and far up the Mississippi Valley."

I tried to drag my friends into the WH40K pit and they said only if I drew something that could convince them. Lucky for me, I know just the right guy who could do the job subtly and nicely 😏

Corvian
[PT: corvian. End PT.]

[Image ID 1: a flag with 7 equal horizontal stripes. From top to bottom, the colours go; blue, teal, light green, white, pale yellow, orange, and red. End ID.]
[Image ID 2: a flag with 7 equal horizontal stripes. From top to bottom, the colours go; dark blue, medium blue, blue, white desaturated purple, desaturated medium purple, and desaturated dark purple. End ID.]
[Image ID 3: a flag with 7 equal horizontal stripes. From top to bottom, the colours go; blue, teal, light green, white, blue-purple, blueish medium purple, and dark purple. End ID.]
When someone is "gay in every way/gay in every direction". Corvian is an inherently mspec identity. Someone who is corvian may:
View all their attraction as gay or queer regardless of gender.
Be abro or have fluid or fluctuating attraction/sexuality.
Have a static/non-fluctuating attraction.
Identify with other mspec labels alongside corvian.
Be wlw, mlm, nln, ala, and xelxe, etc. (e.g., multigender people).
Identify as a lesbian, veldian, cenelian, nixian, xenian, varian, etc., as a combo of them, or them all at the same time.
Have specifically veldian attraction towards men, lesbian attraction towards women, cenelian attraction towards nonbinary people, nixian attraction towards genderless people, xenian attraction towards xenogender people, varian attraction towards multigender people, etc.
Be omnique, llenxflux, or genderfluid and change between orientation labels.
Etc.
Named after the constellation, Corvus and corvids, because corvids like to collect things, and I feel that represents this label perfectly.
No specific colour meanings, I did try to take inspiration from the colour of crows and ravens when making the flags though.
