DAY 7: Summer!!!

Kiran summer alt real!!! Much like the Day of Devotion alt, I was actually toying with a design for this a while back, but never got around to cleaning it up. Which means its bonus sketch time! Yippee!

So this started as me wanting to draw that summer Sharena design after seeing xander-wolk take a crack at it, which you can find here. It was meant to be more of a warm up sketch but next thing I knew all four of my guys are on screen.

Then I explored the outfit a little more. Debated giving Kiran more dangly bits. But I ultimately settled on what usually works when drawing Kiran; throwing a coat on it.

Nikon Z30 Rants

It may not look as classy as the Nikon ZFC or Nikon ZF, but it sure delivers some decent work if you try hard enough. Till today, using a non-CPU lens via the Nikon FTZ II adapter is still a pain when it comes to processing those images. Some EXIF tool kit is still required prior to actually processing them accurately.

I am not entirely sure what the fat point is of putting the max aperture and focal length information of these lenses into the camera when you still ultimately have to repeat that manually with an external program. In my opinion, more of an after-thought feature those sloppy Nikon engineers could not be bothered more.

Feel? A tad too small even for my asian hand, which resulted in me getting that grip extension from SmallRig. To improve her handling, my Leica 24mm optical viewfinder was used to compose shots taken on the 16mm DX end of the kit lens.

Who would have thought that a Decathlon's floating cord could actually make the entire gear a breeze to carry around with?

Why did I get to live?

I ask that question everyday I breathe, in every day I'm not sure I deserve.

I'm not a perfect being. I fell like the rest, lost in a battle my allies were trapped in, and now stand with their last moments burned into my mind. I was and am mortal, yet I tried to be something else in that moment. Yes, we were just people, but we were also friends, ones who stayed with one another, a group of those tired of bending to the pains of living. That's what we hoped to be for one another, for others as well, in a world where chaos was everything and perhaps was all we could imagine.

I don't know why I am alive in this strange world, but for you- you all who I'm not sure of hearing me now- I live for you now. There are still battles needing to be won and more lives that need to see more than a world of the wicked. I shall help them, as I was taught, and find a way to make us all never be forgotten.
