This batch of Space Wolves I’m painting on commission came already undercoated Mechanicus Standard Grey, which should be extremely helpful, right? The perfect undercoat for the (Heresy-Era colors) main armor color, and a good mid-tone for everything else, right?

Only apparently it’s just not a good undercoat compared to Chaos Black, because everything is taking extra coats and the paint goes on almost... slippery, with normal acrylics applying almost like Contrast paints in the first application. 

This is particularly compounded with colors that are kinda not great in terms of coverage in the first place like Balthasar Gold but even my Iron Warriors Steel is sliding off of the edges. :-/

Is Mech Standard Grey always like this, or did my commissioner get a weird can or something? I’ve never had these kinds of issues with any of the other primers I’ve ever used. Even the old Corax White, which you’d need to apply multiple layers to because white, at least the paint stayed where you put it.

RP Stuff and Nonsense

Hey Deb? Why you not writing responses? Where have you gone?

Alright, alright. Let me explain a few things.

I am currently focusing on getting my actual life together and in gear. It’s time for me to stop moping like Corax and do something. Problem is, doing things take time.

I have made a twitch stream site so people can hang out with me and paint. I may even be able to grab commissions this way.
