Here's my creation for the Choices Secret Pal event by @choicesfandomappreciation!

For @lilyoffandoms, I sampled from Choices and ILW transparent files to come up with a couple of new outfits for their COP MC Gabriel Rose, based on the info from here! And it looks like Trystan wanted to try them on too hehe

Evangeline Marie G. (Guzman) Lakandula - Ah yes, my soft, anxious babie with self-worth issues. She comes from a messy background with a horrible father. She was close to her late (paternal) grandparents and had a very complicated relationship with her late mother. One of her relatives shes v close to is her older cousin, Ethan.

She's a college dropout thanks to her father's bad choices and worked the moment she had a chance to.

After her mother passed, that was it for Evangeline. She kinda needed to go away from her dad and his loud voice and other issues. So she left home and Ethan helped her out before he left for a business trip abroad.

He had her go to a house he owned in Laguna where she could live in provided she just do the cleaning in there. She found simple work that she was qualified for and that was her life for the next few years until a certain bachelor party came into her life.

Diwa Kalangitan M. (Masangga) del Rosario - My chaotic good and very protective MC who definitely rabbleroused in the school she works in.

She was raised in a household that follows some precolonial beliefs and traditions. She has a stepfather who's an albularyo and two half-siblings. One is studying in college, the other is still in high school. She has a close relationship to both her parents.

And she is rather happy with her job as a teacher in a private school. Sure she sometimes goes against curriculum to make sure the kids enjoy her lessons. She's a class advisor also so when she found out their math teacher humiliated one of her students, she confronted said teacher.

Her trip to America is really just a birthday trip until the events of the book started. In the end she ends up in a poly relationship with Nik and Cal. (She does end up pointing out to the boys that she'll have to go back to her work and family at least just to properly resign and find work near them and also to assure her family she's safe.)

Maya Chelidonia C. (Caacbay) dela Rosa - The local tired detective who had to move abroad for their own safety. Love them SM.

Maya is the child of Jaime dela Rosa, a cop in the Philippines who does not follow in corrupt practices and tries to do right by the community. He was killed after coincidentally seeing signs of corruption in the force and wanting to expose it.

After their father's death, Maya also followed in his footsteps. On their end, they wanted to try and do some good in their job but ended up experiencing some discrimination in the work force. Enter them finding the same evidence of corruption that their father found as well. This time they managed to expose the corruption but in the end, one of their few friends in the force warned them that they'll have to flee the country due to some v angry officials.

So they fled with their mother and younger sister.

Their sister became a fashion designer. Maya found work as a private detective and the two teamed up to be able to live a decent life. Their sister travels with their mom on fashion shows. They're fine living nearby their maternal uncle with their dog, Spudge. (He's a scaredy cat and a lil crybaby who doesn't like strangers and by that I mean he starts crying when the strangers notice him. It's not out of trauma, he just likes Maya and their fam more than anyone else and is v shy with others. He's also scared of the dark and loud noises.)

Inocencia Honorata G. (Galang) Valenciano - and finally, my love's embarrassing bby. My Rafael Aveiro romancer. Love her sm.

She and her mom, older brother and little sister ran away from their father when they were a kid. Her parents annulled their marriage after a few years.

Her older brother became the youngest lawyer in the country and had a firm in New York seek him out. This led to him helping Inocencia and her sister (who had skipped grades and managed to enter college the same year as Inocencia).

Inocencia is v non-competitive that she chose De La Salle University while her sister went to their grandfather’s alma mater, University of the Philippines. At college, Inocencia got dubbed as SiaSia because of the repeated -cia in her first name and surname.

The two got accepted into Edenbrook when they were gonna start. Inocencia being 27 and her sister being 25. By then, Inocencia still isn't competitive and didn't sign up for the competition for the diagnostics team but her little sister shoved her to try it out.

‘I get kind of sad to see little to no people acknowledge the fact that MC can be nb too in certain books (like COP) Everyone always sets a default that its a woman, and SOMETIMES they put she/he or similar things, but never acknowledge the they/them. And I'm not saying everyone should play as a nb!MC, I'm just saying that personally I get sad seeing the erasure we get, specially when people on the fandom talk generally about the book instead of their personal things’

...I didn't say Ward was lame idiocy? The anon that 'recommended' Ward referred to idiocy in the worldbuilding, but AFAIK, I haven't called Ward idiotic or lame.

I've said I don't want to read it (and referred to gouging my own eyes out as a preferred thing to do rather than read it) and I've probably said a few other disparaging things about it in a broader sense, but the term 'lame idiocy' has not been among them. I'm not sure I've called anything 'lame idiocy'... ever?

As for supporting Vicky, I do like Vicky? I don't want to read Ward for many reasons, including that by all accounts I don't think I'd really like the version of Vicky that exists in that work, but I do like the Vicky that exists in Worm (such as she is) and some of the fanfics that use the decent (subjectively) parts of Ward to construct a fuller and better picture of the character.

But I doubt an actual supporter of Vicky would call her 'Cop' like that, especially not as a middle name. Leaving aside the fact that I vehemently disagree with that sort of labelling of Vicky (it's not inaccurate, but it is misleading and incomplete and certainly dismissive to just label her 'cop' and move on).

As for 'all true dykes' supporting her, that seems... off? I mean, popular shipping and fanon aside, as far as I'm aware, Victoria remained straight throughout the entire text of Ward (because, as I understand it, the first female MC Wildbow ever wrote that is canonically into girls is the Claw MC). Of course, ship whatever tf you want, Taylor being straight in canon doesn't stop me from shipping her with Amy or Rachel (or doing similar things in other fandoms, from time to time, though I do tend to do it less than some people in modern fandom) or having about ~20 different Pillbug/Skitterpan fic ideas.

So while I'm sure lots of lesbians and bi girls, etc do really like Vicky, hc as bi or gay or pan or w/e and ship her with Ashley or Taylor or Lisa, etc, as do presumably decent numbers ofstraight girls, guys of all sexualities and various fans of other gender identities (nb people, agender people, w/e), she's not like, you know canon sapphic rep or anything.

And again, I do like Vicky. I just don't want to read Ward. I would rather, as I said, gouge my own eyes out with a rusty spoon than read it. I would rather sit down on a cactus. I would rather read Twig. There's certainly things that would be less enjoyable than reading Ward, and there's also probably a good amount of stuff I would enjoy in it. But I do not feel any need or desire to subject myself to 2 million words of a work that I have many reasons to think I wouldn't like.

The fact of the matter is, for all that I am enjoying Worm, there are a lot of things about Worm I don't like. Not because Worm is bad or anything, it's not, it's just not really my kind of story. I'm not and never was the target audience, and I knew that going in, and I knew there were things about it I was never really going to love (the bleakness, for instance, which some people seem to adore, though they may not use the word 'bleak'). There's still a lot I like about Worm, but Ward sounds like it has even more of the stuff I don't like about Worm, and even less of the stuff I do like about it.

Obviously, without reading Ward, I cannot have a fully informed opinion on the work, and you know what, I'm fine with that. I didn't need to read 50 Shades of Grey to know that it's not for me and that I don't want to read it. And if you think that's an unfair example (which, granted, it kind of is), I can also say I don't need to read IT or watch either of the recent IT movies to know that I don't want to read/watch it. Not for me.

Ward's not for me, and I don't want to read it, and unless I was paid to, I wouldn't read it. (Or, I guess, forced at gunpoint, I'd read it then too). But I am not and will not say Ward is a bad work. All said and done, it's probably as good as Worm, or therabouts. So good, even great in places, but by no means a perfect flawless masterpiece. But I'm still not gonna read it.

I don't know if this technically counts as hate, but I am gonna rate this anon with a 0/10.

I was going through the lessons again and...

Spoilers for Lesson 14 undercut

How did this pass me? These lines give away so much but make so much sense. It feels like a cop-out. I hate it.

"MC, a certain bond exists between each of us and you."

Okay, great. So I am stuck with ya'll.

"I may not be able to see it, but I can feel it."

You go by your feelings a lot, just sayin'.

"It's unmistakable."

Everyone makes mistakes.

"It's what drew all us to you, and it's why we're all here together now. It was destiny in a way."

Call it what you will... fate... destiny... A bitch.

"Even if we were to rewind time and start over... we could meet a thousand different times in a thousand different ways and still end up here."

Enough with my stupid commentary, but Diavolo gives us a reason. A valid reason. A reason that is so easy... that it feels like a cop-out. There is no way it can be that simple. The thing is... it can be. There is a bond between MC and everyone. From the brothers to the dateables and our son, Luke. It is an undeniable bond that transcends time and space. The title line of the game is "My love for you transcends time." Now what am I blabbing about?

It is a reason that the brothers and others feel a connection. It is why we can bond with them easily. We have already done it. Time and time again. Time is a weird thing. Nightbringer has described it as "dark, heavy mud." Solomon gave an explanation Barbatos gave him a while back (which I can't find). There are points that are repeated over and over again, like the MC's room. That is THEIR room. Another big point is Mammon being first. It might be a running gag, but it is true. Mammon has always been first; the first pact, the first friend, the first guide, etc. Mammon is the first for nearly everything in the game for a reason. He is the first card we get from Nightmare in the OG game and NB game.

It doesn't matter what how many times they start over- it will end the same. It will end where they are all together.

But Time is just another factor in this game. This does bring up a thought for me. The brothers and others don't remember MC when they are brought back to the past. None of them remember MC and it makes sense for none of them to know them. If Barbatos is Nightbringer, it can be understood why he said "You don't trust me because I'm a demon." He doesn't know MC well enough. You can see the future, but not know someone. He also mentioned in the OG game that he never did anything with his powers because Diavolo forbid him from doing so. He got bored too, I believe and ya know, his "mistake". If Barbatos is Nightbringer, it would make sense why he say somethings that make no sense. Like everyone else, he does not know MC at all, but will. Because there is a bond between him and MC. Time and time again, they all end up together.

This is literally just me rambling.

Ok, anon I think I accidentally deleted your ask 😭 it was cute tho thanks for asking!

So I like the idea of Trystan and Lyra ending up together (even though I might change that since I liked Nik and the other NB LIs more than I thought lol), but anyways Lyra is someone who does want to be a mom. My current headcanon is that she and Trystan would end up having identical twin daughters named Candice Marguerite Thorne and Alice Nayeli Thorne who are complete opposites, each like one of their parents and maybe a son?? (again, subject to change). I just know they would be the best parents I feel it in my soul. I'll post a fic later about how Lyra meets Trystan and Nayeli (my CoP MC?OC).

I like the idea that after being in relationships with people who were more emotionally distant, she would end up with someone who is willing to be vulnerable around her and show their affection more directly (I can also elaborate on this at a later date).

If I change my mind and keep her with Nik or another NB LI besides Cal and Vera they wouldn't have kids unless they were adopting. Lyra would be kind of disappointed but she would get it. She and Nik would def be Godparents tho

18. What embarrasses them? Jenna: not much tbh lol. I would say the number one thing is definitely when their uncle shares stories/pics from their childhood lol Jackie: being asked weirdly personal questions during interviews. she usually just tries to change the subject lol

36. Do they actively seek romance, or do they wait for it to fall into their lap?  Jenna: waits for it Jackie: depends. in high school she mostly just waited, in college she did more seeking it out

43. If someone asked them to explain their sexuality, how would they do so?  Jenna: "I'm pansexual. Gender is meaningless to me when it comes to sex. I'm also demiromantic. So, I need to form an emotional, usually platonic, relationship with someone before any romantic feelings come into play." Jackie: "I'm bisexual and I have a preference for women."

A. Why are you excited about this character? I love gay people. jk. kinda. I love writing queer characters and Jenna and Jackie are just idk really cool lol. I love writing Jackie because I love Thomas lol and also because it's super fun to write about someone working in the film industry since that's what I plan(?) on going into (I think?? I'm still kinda figuring it out lol). I love writing Jenna because I love having a nonbinary MC (I love having the option to have a nb MC hehe) and I just really love the CoP MC in general. I also really love writing/thinking about Jenna's drag background and family, it's probably my favorite thing about Jenna tbh.

My Losing Game series - in which I explored what happened with Bryce’s parents and how maybe they could reconnect again and become a family again, was a labor of love but it was angsty I agree.

I wanted to give a glimpse into Bryce’s emotional state and how he feels about his parents and what they did and how it affects and becoming a dad and getting married to Luna, I think he needed closure and often times I feel as if PB didn’t give a lot of closure or explains as to why his parents did what they did and how it affected Bryce later on in life and the way he makes decisions, how he always a joke on hand a sunny personality, I think a lot of that stems from the trauma he experienced - so I wanted to show that and have give him some closure because I think he deserves the world. Knowing he’s not alone with Luna, his sister and all of his other friends and family.

Keiki and Koa are probably my favorite to write next to Bryce and Luna, because Keiki and Koa always remind me of this feeling when you’re a teenager and you’re in love for the first time and all is fresh and new. Like flowers in a flower field if that makes any sense 😅🥰

As for NB? I’m sorry I don’t know when I will continue with the series. I’m sort of having a writers block with that series, and I don’t know where I want to go with the story so sorry to say for the foreseeable future it’s on hiatus. If and when I continue I’d love to share with all of you 🥰🩷

Funny story for my Scooby-Doo x Crimes of Passion AU crossover

A while ago there was a choicesmonthly challenge and there a few ideas for a AU or crossovers and I was thinking you know what would be cool? Scooby-Doo and the mystery gang solving a case with Trystan and Rose (my MC from CoP) and that’s what I did. I have one chapter down, I just need to figure out all the other details and it’s ready to post.

I am also a huge fan of the Scooby-Doo show and I love to watch it. Mystery Incorporated is really good and it’s on Netflix if you want to give it a try 🥰

i’ve had this idea for a while but this post is jus some theorizing on the world of obswd/nb

so this is absolutely not canon, i can just feel it in my bones but i like the way it sounds:

for humans, it’s simple. each day passes, you’re a day older. i’m sure everybody can understand that.

but for angels and demons, their age (physical age, that is) has no correlation to how long they’ve been alive. for them, they don’t expect to die, because it would take an insane amount of effort to actually do them in for good. so instead, their physical body will age or evolve whenever a certain threshold of power or energy is met. (like a pokemon.) that’s why luke is around during nightbringer (an extremely long time ago compared to mc’s present day) but he still looks like he would be stopped by a cop for truancy cos they think he’s snuck away from elementary school.

sure, simeon has said that luke has some super secret special angel powered forehead kisses, but he’s clearly either an unranked or low-ranked angel. versus satan, who was fully grown from the get go, but the difference is that satan came from lucifer and was therefore born strong and powerful.

i would still like to explore what the fuck happens to humans after they die. surely they arent allowed to go to the celestial realm or devildom. it’d be kinda funny if mc asked one day and they’re like “… nothing? you just stop existing. wdym?” and it turns out that heaven and hell have got fuck all to do with humans. they think humans are just these weird ass little dudes who die all the time and scream about god and devil and that’s why they get their own realm.
