having a hard time seeing how it’s invasive to ask about their relationship status esp when I feel like it was asked pretty tactfully and their whole brand is now one another/their whole joint Thing and these days they basically turn on the camera and film 15 mins of horseshit to send to an editor but we eat it up bc they’re so busy hearteyesing one another the whole video that we don’t even notice/care that it’s mostly horseshit content plus they’re now doing a tour about the whole joint Thing and their whole horned up history which is the reason they’re even doing this press and there’s rly no more smoke and mirrors around discussing #phan bc how open will the door be so there’s only one remaining question so it seems goofy to not ask tbh

People will really say "Jonathan Sims is a good guy!" or "Jonathan Sims is a bad person!" as if a prominent message of his character arc wasn't that no matter who you are, what you do, or how you behave your actions can cause harm or good without intention, and baselessly assigning morals to people who aren't deliberately causing harm is pointless because our view of them is more about how they affect us than how they actually are.
For better or worse, everyone is just a person. We're all both not at fault and entirely to blame.

We should talk more about the fact Jason got swarmed and attacked by a mob as Robin, like??? Hello. He had to be left there because the mob was too violent with Batman near. He had to be taken to the hospital.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at those injuries!!
The next time we see him he's forcing himself out of bed and putting on the Robin costume thinking "I've gotta do what I can to help, even if it kills me!"
The next next time we see him he has walked into yet another violent mob
I cannot stop thinking about this story and the effects it probably had on him honestly. Do you think it's made him nervous in crowds, do you think it made him trust others just that bit less. How long do you think he was being attacked before he was found, the scene had cleared. "I've gotta do what I can to help, even if it kills me!",,,,
Just the concept itself! I don't know about you guys but being attacked and grabbed and trampled into unconsciousness sounds absolutely terrifying! Did he black out, still getting hit, thinking he was going to die? Knowing he couldn't defend himself as his injuries to took their toll? At their complete mercy?

1986-87 Legends, issue #2 (the attack), #3 (the hospital), #5 (getting up), #6 (defending heros from another forming mob)
2010 DC Universe: Legacies, issue #6 (flashback panel to Legends moment)
#jason todd#jaybin#jason todd robin#comic reference#we need to talk about and acknowledge this so much more its such a fun bit of information n backstory#and i honestly think its a REALLY IMPORTANT jaybin moment. both for him and readers#batman#dc comics#i never see anyone talk about it which is such a shame honestly#fairly confident this is post crisis jaybin. but of course we are in the evil gray area of actually post crisis - before new backstory#but gonna be honest with you guys here i and actual dc writers take from precrisis jaybin alot anyway because he IS still jason#and adds more original comic time for jason#as long at its not like blatantly contradictory i keep a rather lot of his things#and again we are in the grey area of it#plus he calls himself the new robin in the hospital scene so that probably means something#and none of it at all matters anyway because when it comes to comics you do what you want for forever. thumbs up emoji#this is still important anyway. the “ive gotta help even if it kills me!” haunts me#dare i say i wish we talked more about jaybin time in general. like. the stories from it#all i usually hear is ditf and him pushing or not pushing that guy. its a shame i think jaybin has some really fun stories#i think (i think) scarecrow and mad hatter were rogues he faced the most. DEFINITELY scarecrow#two face too if im counting the mad hatter. +plus importance bc twoface he thought killed his dad#he lets himself be kidnapped by two face saying hes the SECOND robin and then insults the guys car#he dresses up as two face once#he saw scarecrow making highly concentrated fear toxin and dumped it on him 😭#sherlock holmes was in a story at some point#its so fun. augh i need to reread jaybin so so bad its so fun i miss it

If we wanna be real Will has rational reactions to things but no interest in girls and Mike has irrational reactions to things with 0 explanation and a girlfriend.
Bc the people who said the S3 fight was only about Will not wanting to grow up after trauma could have been right. But people don't even have an ANSWER for Mike.
Even if it's probably not, at least Will HAS alternate explanations with a few exceptions only in lines he himself says in reference to his own feelings (4x05, 4x08).
If we're being real, Mike acts gay with 0 alternate explanations and nothing anyone can come up with when asked but he has a girlfriend so people think he's straight and gonna mary her. And that's the truth.

I see a lot of discussion in the DR fandom on some characters that die early having "missed potential", and while I agree that definitely a few of them could have been written better or differently, part of me wonders if that missed potential is kind of the point? A character is shaping up to be something, so you get invested in their story, which then makes their early death all the more tragic. I mean, of course it's still a tough needle to thread to get it to land as tragic versus falling flat, and I'm not sure how closely some of these characters hit the mark. But I Do think some characters aren't actually "missed opportunities" and instead played their role in the plot how they were meant to, if maybe a little suboptimally.

The way that people on tik tok in particular will get so incredibly MAD if you don't explicitly hate whatever niche group of people 90% of people irl have never even heard of will forever be wild to me
Like it happens on most socials to some extent, but I see it a lot more often on tik tok where people will get angry if you even just don't give a fuck, literally any opinion other than explicitly hating them

If there's one thing I've respectively noticed from Zionists and defenders of Israeli war crimes, it's that every source, argument and potential avenue to explore each explanation is riddled with cherry picking, moving the goalposts and mental gymnastics to explain why their conclusions, which typically are barely even related to the sources they use, somehow overshadow literal reality and what we see with our own eyes.
While scrolling, one example I came across was the repetitive misrepresentation of BLM, antifa and quotes from Martin Luther King Jr, as well as statistics, scholarly journal articles and government website information. These are all good sources, yet every single time they're mangled completely until the only possible "interpretation" of any of them is "well Israel is right to defend itself after shorting rockets beforehand because the retaliation was brutal and all Arabs are bad by default therefore". As if any of these sources are even about individual exceptions of Israel versus hatred towards Arabs.
I think what I find most absurd, as someone in the middle of their own studies, is how every bit of critical thinking and logic goes out the window as they do every single thing possible to do what professors worldwide say NOT to do when evaluating sources. It's like watching a race to see who can tangle and misconstrue scientific information to fit their world view the fastest. Then said people say "um actually I studied at university before so it's actually not wrong that I'm doing this exact this everyone is warned not to do because I have a permit". Ignorance I can forgive, but willful and arrogant manipulation? That's another thing entirely.
#zionism#my gods y'all need to get a grip and start remembering that confirmation bias exists#and y'all use sources continually in this way while just generally having so much bs of presenting How To Not Use My Own Sources#or actually to be more correct you clearly do know you just choose not to because you'd rather be justified in resource theft and profit#Like the while tome it's been about either material gain or feeling good about yourself while you shit on strangers#and then I also see y'all make other accounts ro harass random Arabs for fun and random queers who aren't even related like#the fuck is wrong with y'all go sit down and think about why you all do this pointless bs#it's such a waste of your own life spending it looking for fights to help with your bottomless insecurities#Israel#fuck israel#long live palestine#like you can say hamas was bad all you like it doesn't actually change the situation and what y'all have been doing for 76 years#and actually longer but y'all arent ready for that conversation and how Zionists butchered Jews and helped Nazi Germany historically#like sorry that Was a thing that happened and if you want to label yourselves as The Sacred Protectors of Jews then you have to face that#Pretending history didn't happen isn't helpful to anyone including yourselves y'all just making Zionism look even worse and like idiocy#I mean it is but you all aren't helping yourselves by being literal holocaust deniers#and being like “but Zionists saved Jews afterwards” as if that somehow erases the fact they ALSO helped the Nazis#like history is full of contradictory bullshit so when you say “but what about this” you know that doesn't erase the other things right??#“That's worse. You DO see how that's worse right?”#I'm shaking you all and yelling this like it is WORSE that they killed Jews and then started playing the saviour and fellow victims#You do see how that is really bad for Jews today to be in a place created for political power plays and material gain through any means#like you see how that could be REALLY dangerous for Jews if they're that expendable to Zionist entities and the government#and you do realise that is literally what we are seeing from the actions of said government#and how they acting sadly very predictablely when you consider the historical contexts for its existence?#People who research this shit aren't surprised because it happens every single year and has been happening for centuries -#- before Israel the holocaust etc. It's been like this for as long as political Zionism and the French Revolution#It's been going on since pre Marxism and pre a lot of differing things but y'all pretend Zionists haven't ever harmed Jews ever when -#- there's a long history of internal conflict and in fighting that formed modern Zionism and plenty of internalised antisemetism within it#Yeah there's a genuine desire for return to the land (Not Own It just return and live peacefully)#but that is very very different to Political Zionism that formed as a socialist nationalist movement

I wonder if the discontentment some people have with their gender stems from the contradictions in expectation for their gender.
I mentioned this in passing, but as a man, I've found there's this simultaneous expectation to be hyperindependent and hyperindividualistic while also being concerned about if the people around you accept your masculinity or manhood. It's an interesting paradox to both be expected not to care but also to care so deeply that it alters how you see yourself. It's the contradiction of hyperveneration and hyperscrutiny and, even, hatred of manhood.
This isn't even touching on the intricacies of nonbinary and intersex experiences with the way people enforce these (cissexist) contradictions of what you "should" be.

People: anyone can have fun with gender and self expression, because everyone recognizes the complexity of such things as gender and sexuality, which can't be contained in precise boxes
Lesboys: ok! I'm a transmasc lesbian :D

still feel so vindicated by tpatd. i dont rly have proof of it but i always wanted tlq to be a bit of a strange beast but i was worried it conflicted w canon (the wraith in particular, and the lack of a visible mouth in his appearances) so i scrapped some ideas i had to make him more beastly so tpatd was such an incredible and welcome surprise

What is a revolution?
I've seen so many people think of a revolution as a bloody, violent thing. Taking a better society, wresting power from the hands of the powerful with force. Eliminating societal undesirables as the unspoken bonus goal: the disabled who rely on medical supply lines, the homeless who rely on community and state support initiatives, the children already caught in the crossfire of their parents' ownership and the state's enforcement of it.
I've seen fellow leftists - socialists, anarchists - reject the concept of revolution for that reason, and I'm right there with them... except the word revolution is still meaningful to us.
So... what is a revolution?
Is blood the only fuel, or can we find a clean energy source? Can it be so unlike YA revenge fantasies and instead be a tsunami of overwhelming compassion and community? Can it be gradual, ongoing, not a Rapture nor a cleansing but simply a process day by day? Can it be a living thing, breathing with the collective oxygen and dreams of a whole world?
What if a revolution is all the small things? Asking your disabled neighbor what form of help would be most helpful to them and doing what you can. Making (food-restriction-safe) food for people who can eat it. Sharing resources and building social programs that'll catch the vulnerable as the rot in the state condemns it. Sharing freely and fearlessly and not blaming others for the way they cope with a world that is still often cruel when they aren't hurting anyone else. Taking according to your need and giving according to your ability, including with how you take action to take care of others.
rev·o·lu·tion·ar·y
adjective
1. involving or causing a complete or dramatic change.
Things never truly change when power is seized and hierarchies redistributed. Every "revolution" of blood and death fails at its fundamental intent.
But what, then, could be more revolutionary than one step at a time, making the world a little brighter? Call me naïve, call me idealistic, but those who cannot even imagine a better future largely can't make one. (If you can't imagine it because of despair though, let us do that work for you, and we'll bring you with us for as long as you'll come.)
What could cause a more complete change than simply changing how each of us treat other people, bit by bit? What could be a more dramatic change than merely building a home and a hearth, brick by brick?
What could make things better more than never stopping trying to make things better? (Not doing everything right all the time, but just pushing to do as much as you can, whatever that means in any given moment, and forgiving yourself your own flaws and mistakes.)
Our revolution is life lived, not checkbox checked. It lives, it breathes, it feels, it laughs, it cries, it grows. Most of all, it seeks out a thousand thousand other small revolutions and builds communities of change.
That is revolution.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
not even projecting too hard i just think both of them are like this fr
Tumblr media
^^^ my evil and horrible guygals (heart emojis flying around my head) ^^
#dis.txt#‘which 2 exactly’ differs for me 4 each of them but i do think they’d both be pretty solidly he/him + masc terms due to longevity#like they both just are so used to it. like an old coat you keep around just b/c you’ve had it forever. it’s just part of you now#they both have wayyyyy 2 many compexes abt identity and apperances and all that shit already it’s just so easy. too easy#but generally i think ame would be like ‘i’m not contradictory dude it makes sense if you let me bust out the powerpoint’#ru being less open about it in general like…. i thinj he would simply try to never acknowledge it. my repression queen…#i think he would enjoy being contradictory in a way that makes other ppl uncomfortable though#of the opinion that if they talked abt it in private they’d quickly realize they got the same kinda shit going on#probably set off by an insult or something that hits just a litttttttle 2 close 2 home for someone (or both of them)#mega slowburn abt it though like. i’m talking years and years and lots of charged veiled comments about it. as one does sometimes#i think best case scenario would be both knowing and internally thinking ‘it’s just mutually assured blackmail’#but the reality is that they’ve stumbled into only being able to be really honest abt it w/ the other. they will not admit this#(partially b/c relations/history partially b/c both are worried if they’re 2 genuine the other will get freaked out and stop/leave)#wonderful wonderful dynamic… also i’m not sorry i just want more fucked up bigendr bitches in bizarre relationships. covered in blood even#ALSO I THINK THEY’RE BOTH GAY BUT IN DIFFERENT WAYS DUE TO CULTURE AND PERSONALITY *dragged out of room yelling*

The argument points about lesbian intercommunity discourse against xyz term/label/etc. that hinge on saying how this "only happens in lesbian communities, you don't see other orientations have to deal with this!!!!" has always been simultaneously funny and frustrating to me.
Because 9 times out of 10, the equivalent to that DOES in fact exist in other lgbtq+ communities. It just doesn't get anywhere near as much public attention & arguments over it.
"You don't see people trying to argue for trans women or women in general to be allowed in the gay community like you do with people arguing for trans men or men in general to be allowed into the lesbian community!!!" You literally do. There are women, including trans women as well as various others such as genderfluid, multigender, and other genderqueer people who consider themselves women, in the gay community. There's even an equivalent term to the term lesboy for women who are gay called turigirl.
"You don't see gay men unironically using she/her & calling their partner their girlfriend!!!" You do. There are definitely gay men, hell even gay cis men, who use she/her and/or prefer typically feminine terms.
(Both of these two above points are extra funny to me because both have been said to my face while I am a pangender gay guy who does use she/her. They are literally saying to my face that people like me don't exist when they do that.)
"You don't see people arguing gay men can actually be attracted to women!! You don't see people trying to call themselves mspec gays like people try to say they're mspec lesbians!!!!" mspec gays do in fact also exist. Also what world are you living in where homophobes who try to convince lesbians that are definitely not into men they actually all can and are attracted to men exist, but people who try to convince gay men who aren't attracted to women that they can be and are attracted to women don't? Way to say you don't talk to any gay men because most could tell you that they do in fact have experiences with that happening.
There's a lot more I could point out, but those three are ones I've seen the most recently. Point is, if you're going to make an argument that something is bad/a problem, and what you are using to help prove that point is the fact that it doesn't exist within other similar communities, maybe check that it actually doesn't exist in those communities first so you don't straight up erase shit from other communities to try to make a point about your own.

have to work on a project today and an unrelated thing happened that just made me so so so so so mad (just some irl personal stuff), which normally derails my entire day because i find it so hard to come out of the angry/upset state and tend to just circle back and obsess over whatever triggered it but! today after 20 minutes of that i had a council meeting about it (<- what i call my decision making process) the outcome of which was putting it aside (!!!) for later when i could actually talk about it and resolve it (!!!) & in the meantime we could just do other stuff.
local man exuberant and jubilated to achieve feats of basic emotional self-regulation and was seen excitedly telling reporters he "never thought this day would come" and began giving a thank you speech to nobody in particular. more on this story as it develops
#good idea generator#more and more i find the most effective way to get things done is to have like. a council discussion in my head about it#my thoughts always feel really noisy especially when im upset & its easier to process what im thinking/feeling#if i imagine it as coming from many different sources with different opinions. rather than contradictory ones from me#bc then i get stressed about the contradictions. council discussion is easy bc you can let everyone say their whole perspective#so everyone gets listened to + then theres space to ask questions like 'is this helping or hurting?'#if you're wondering who 'we/everyone' is. its me. this is probably obvious but i never know what is typical when explaining how i think#or if im explaining it in a way that makes sense and is accurate to whats actually going on up there#arguably i dont think any language is ever truly 'accurate' to whats going on up there#feels like trying to see if other people see the same red as you do. what do you ask? and when you think you know how do you check?#anyway. i like the council because i used to just try to shut down negative or spirally thoughts#and it never worked ever it just made me feel more out of control. whereas now i have to listen to the whole thing#+ try to identify what the underlying fear or need is and try to address THAT#also awhile back i read the handbook for internal family systems therapy which has def influenced how i think of myself#now i have never actually done ifs or spoken to a practising professional so grain of salt and whatever#but i have found it is by far the way that makes the most sense for me personally to think abt myself and try to solve problems internally
