The Founders’ Celebration, a series of events covering diverse topics to honor the vision and principles of American University Washington College of Law’s founding mothers, kicks off its 2014 season on Jan. 13.

12.21.1801: William Marbury et al. submitted a petition to the US Supreme Court that a writ of mandamus be issued to Secretary of State James Madison. This began the #SCOTUS case "Marbury v. Madison", which would go on to establish the precedent for judicial review.
