That scene in the three hour video got to me really hard, and I had to draw it. There's something so mesmerizing about turning the act of handing over a Charter Weapon into an action as simple as pressing Q.

I feel like there is something to be said about how Rat and Lux chose their final stand against Blake. Making themselves look less like people by submerging themselves in ink, letting themselves die and be reborn into something deviating away from how players would usually fight and be something inhuman.

Monsters so to speak.

And how it is when they fight and lurk beneath the ink, the world looks just as dark to allow them to fit into it, like doomsday and that something is ending. So only when finally one of them lays dead and the other unable to continue that the rains stops and the color comes back. And the one remaining becomes something more recognizable in his defeat and more human as he feels something achingly terrible for the first time since the world started.

I know there is the whole unreliable narrator thing and depending on which side you see it from, you get different mileage on each character. But just there is something so fascinating how the fight is. In how Lux and Rat, the two that have changed so much together, had started this fight with the shared intent to make things right so they can finally leave it behind them and made themselves look so alien and different in the process. While Blake and Nox, two that were never even on the same side, and who both were too unrelenting in what they want to ever stray from their own desires, had remained as they were and drew the same weapons they fought with all this time (albeit it a few enchantment changes and all that) to face this fight in front of them.

I don't think I have quite the right words to form a good and meaningful conclusion, but like the tonal and thematic dissonance goes crazy (in a good way).

watched Winsweep's latest video, his pov of the finale. These are just my thoughts :]

I only now noticed that Blake is constantly being referred to as a puppy/dog by Lux and Rat. Idk there's gotta be implication there.

Blake's the one constantly referring to their rivalry as a war, even if it's really just him against Rat from the start, which yeah makes sense. But I'd also wanna add that the way Lux's death sinks in for him is reasonable in the sense that it's war. No one wins in a war, no one ever does. It feels like you win when you see your enemy lose something, but in turn everyone is losing something.

Blake constantly sees his way as the only way too. He thinks it's the only "good way", never once does he see his actions as actually worse than better.

Small detail that I found interesting, Rat chose Winsland as the battle ground. Blake wanted it to end at Market.

AND DAMN it ending with him saying "Why do I feel so empty?"

While one of Rat's last lines before the vid ended was "But now I get it, I'm a monster."

smth smth about loss and realization. How even after experiencing loss that hit hard, they realized different things after it, but both are (in the sense) consequences of their actions until now.

The entire rat vs win drama occurring since the start makes me laugh cuz like it makes me feel like they're divorced and argue infront of their kids

How scripted is the CSMP? Obviously there's an overarching storyline with plot, but how much of it is like, 100% scripted ahead of time? Whenever someone uses a mod for the first time during a plot-heavy moment (you reviving Wardens on Winsweep, Diansu showing off Invictus, etc.) do they actually know about the mods ahead of time, or are they genuinely seeing the mods for the first time?

It really depends on the event, Blake had no idea i would trap him with Wardens, and I also didn't know too much about Diansu's mod before the Invictus event happened (aside from the vague idea that he'd "upgrade" himself), but there is a general direction we take events, like even if a person "loses" or "wins" a fight in their event, if the point was to intimidate other players, we still go with the vibe that was intended, so the outcome of the first fight against Invictus wasn't scripted but the planned part was the fact that Lux's side didn't see it as a victory no matter if we beat diansu or not. (CUZ BRO BECAME IRON MAN x GABRIEL ULTRAKILL AND NEARLY BEAT OUR ASSES YKNOW) Sorry for the wordyness this is very hard to explain to someone without the context of how the events happen behind the scenes

actually seeing rat's reaction to lux death was something I didn't expect

like , ok , in my head he was just manipulating lux , in everyone's head , but NOW ?? god , rat was just a dad who didn't know how to be a dad , and seeing nox reaction to that ? what the fuck nox , i thought he would react in another way to lux death but just blaming rat even that he was the only one crying there . PLEASE

Anyway I finished Rat’s video at like 3 am sobbing like a baby and was cursed by visions of Michelangelo’s “The Pietà” which forced me to do this piece instead of sleep or do my homework. I know there would technically be no body since her being was repurposed but give me a break.

It’s been a long while since I’ve done a fully finished piece so I’m hoping everyone like it!

Anyways. Something something Rat building the log cabin of exile in a cold snowy forest bc he’s closed off and doesn’t trust anyone and doesn’t care for anyone. Lux & Rat talking about running away and moving somewhere else after they do what needs to be done. Rat & Lux planning to rebuild in a flower meadow, in the spring and the warmth and the thaw.

The fact rat will never move from the frozen taiga because that’s where Lux’s grave is.
