RCMP say an officer stationed on B.C.'s Central Coast is being transferred out of the region following protests from the Heiltsuk Nation, which said he made a series of racist posts on social media.
Last Friday, members of the nation marched to the Bella Bella RCMP detachment to call for the immediate suspension of the constable.
Screenshots of Facebook posts distributed widely by the Heiltsuk Nation, along with a news release, show a series of selfies, photos and captions that the nation alleges are by RCMP Const. Adrian Robinson.
CBC News has not been able to reach Robinson to answer questions about the posts, nor has CBC News independently viewed the Facebook profile to verify its authenticity. The profile is now private. [...]

"BOAT ALLEGED TO HAVE TAKEN WINE IS SEIZED," Hamilton Spectator. December 4, 1933. Page 7. --- Said to Have Carried Liquor From Hamilton ---- And Deposited It Near Rochester City --- Impounded By R.C.M.P. at Port Hope ---- A new development in the wine transaction between the H. Robinson corporation and an American bootleg ring came to light over the week-end when Sergeant Frank Samson took two men to Port Hope and seized the Harry H., a 125-foot craft that is alleged by the police to have carried the shipment of wine from Hamilton to a point near Rochester in the latter part of October.
Mounted Police officers stated that they had information in their possession that the craft in question had made the trip from Hamilton to a point near Rochester, where the purchasers of the wine had received it. Late Saturday Constables Crawford and McDuff, from the Toronto R.C.M.P. barracks, were placed on the boat after it was officially impounded by the government.
The boat has been lying in the west harbour at Port Hope for several months, ever since the law was passed prohibiting the export of liquor, but longshoremen at Port Hope said the ship was absent from its berth for three days at the time the police claim it made the trip. At this time the waterfront men said it sailed light and came back. -light and they believe the boat made the trip first to Hamilton and then to the American shore before returning.
Former Sub-Chaser The ship is of sturdy build and was used as a sub-chaser in the Black Sea during the war and is capable of doing about 40 miles an hour. It could make the trip from - its home berth to Rochester in about an hour, the lake sailors stated. It was registered at Toronto and the crew never stayed in Port Hope, residents of that town said. Whenever the ship made a trip the crew was brought down from Toronto.
At present Milton B. Staud is being held at Rochester charged by United States authorities with being in possession of merchandise that entered the country without the taxes being paid, but he will be turned over to the Mounted Police officers after they apply for extradition.

Can't even 😍🥰🫠
I absolutely adore the fact that Phryne just does not hesitate to sign a paper that Jack shoves in her face. With no context! Girl doesn't even read it! She just trusts him implicitly and signs!!
The amount of trust here is unreal. Like I know that signing a paper seems like no big deal but I would never sign something without reading it twice. So
Also have a lil bonus screencap just because she looks so tiny here and I- 🥺
YEAHHH BABEY!!
Ladies and gentlemen, I have died from the tenderness.
Anyway I LOVE that Jack's immediate thought was "oh, I can't work with a civilian?? ok. i will make her Not A Civilian™" and I think Phryne is basically thinking the same thing here.
b .,. Bro, I . .
BRO
THEY LOOK SO GOOD TOGETHER! I mean, they always do, but they look so good as an actual 'we're both Real Detectives' team
I literally had to pause and set my phone down to laugh for a good thirty seconds at her deep voice 😂
The look Jack gives her reflects what we are all as an audience thinking. 😂😂 Wish I had gotten a snap of her little shrug in response because the way they interact with one another without words is just absolute gold

It’s Fine Press Friday!
We are excited to share Ivanhoe, a romance by Scottish historiacal novelist and poet Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832), illustrated with linocuts by American artist and illustrator, Arthur Allen Lewis (1873-1957) published in two volumes by the Limited Editions Club, New York, in 1940. Ivanhoe is a historical novel that was first published in three volumes by Archibald Constable (1774-1827), Edinburgh, and Hurst, Robinson and Co., London, in 1819.
The perceptions of some popular historical figures have been shaped by Ivanhoe, like King Richard the Lionheart, Prince John, and most famously Robin Hood. Allen Lewis’s illustrations are funny and energetic. He strategically created interaction across the the page-spread by separating the illustrations with the gutter. The characters awkwardly navigate the space of the page with the effect of them running, falling, jabbing across the book space. The space also may suggest a greater distance, where some characters are just out of reach. This edition was planned by Allen Lewis who also cut the initials that begin each chapter and the linocut illustrations in two colors. The book was printed at the Marchbanks Press in New York. The type is Monotype Kennerly. The rag paper was produced by Worthy Paper Company, made specially for this edition, and the book was bound by the Russell-Rutter Company in New York. The book boards are wrapped with a silver pyroxylin cloth that is embossed in a chain-mail design. The whole book is cohesive and beautifully designed. It is definitely a favorite of mine.
Look at how cute! Knights reading books!

On 21st July 1827 Archibald Constable, the Scottish publisher, died.
Archibald Constable was born at Carnbee in Fife on 24th February 1774, the son of Thomas Constable and Elizabeth Myles.
He was apprenticed to a bookseller and set up on his own in 1795. His specialisation in Scottish historical and literary books drew the attention of many in Edinburgh society. He bought 'The Scots Magazine' in 1801 and published 'The Edinburgh Review' the following year. He was very forward thinking in providing large sums for his authors and even advances for work that was still to be produced. One of his greatest selling authors was Sir Walter Scott.
Following a financial crash in 1826 Scott's attempts to pay off his huge debts through his own literary efforts was detrimental to his health. Archibald Constable was relatively unperturbed and started to publish his Constable's Miscellany in 1827. More cheaply produced and moderately priced than his former publications, the Miscellany brought literature to a wider reading public.
Constable also had a shop at MowbrayHouse, the Constable publishing business continued in the twentieth century, issuing a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books. It continues today as Constable & Robinson.
Archibald Constable died, aged 52, at his home of 3 Park Place Edinburgh on this day 1827 of a dropsy. The entry in the Old Parish Register for Leith South gives the date of burial as 26th July 1827 and the place as 'within the centre of his own ground', his own ground being Old Calton Burial Ground.
