Another anon mentioned having a hard time seeing how the Jesse twins AU would work, and to answer the question, without a serious overhaul of the storyline, it wouldn't work in any way that would result in a meaningful, non-redundant story.

In stories with dual protagonists, even siblings, each protagonist each serves a different purpose in the narrative, and both represent different aspects of the story's theme. The issue with most twin AUs is that they don't really consider this, and have an extra Jesse tacked onto a preexisting narrative role that's already accomplished by one person. The other Jesse's just... there.

This causes more issues, namely the fact that some choices can only be filled by one of them. Who carries the amulet that causes the Witherstorm to follow the group? Who becomes the leader of the Order of the Stone? Who puts on the gauntlet, and who ultimately wields the Golden Gauntlet to defeat Romeo? You then have to pick and choose which Jesse does which, leading to an uneven distribution in character moments and growth.

And for something less often mentioned, having to make certain choices is what makes the games' decisions feel like they actually matter, to an extent. Sacrificing Ellegaard or Magnus. Unchipping Lukas or Petra. The admin's choice of champion, and staying in Beacontown or going with Petra. These decisions simply don't carry as much weight if you can have your cake and eat it too.

In order to actually make the twin AU work in anything other than funny vibes haha land, you need to put in the legwork to write a believable narrative that gives each Jesse a different role to play in the story, resolving the issue of trying to fit two characters into a role meant for one.

Conflict is the engine of story, and the twin AU gives you an option to do it. Maybe f!Jesse wants to explore the world and find out what her passion is, while m!Jesse's more content with being with his friends and staying in town. What situations could you engineer to really push those differing beliefs into strong conflict with one another, and explore the chain of cause-and-effect that arise from how each Jesse deals with problems differently?

If the central thematic question of the story is 'Is it worth sacrificing your humanity to achieve your goals?', maybe over the course of the story f!Jesse grows to embody the 'yes' to that question, while m!Jesse is the opposite (emphasis on how relationships are more important than goals). You can then take other characters in the story to show them as different aspects to the side of the theme each Jesse represents.

As an example: m!Jesse's more laidback nature syncs up with Axel, or f!Jesse's ambition more closely aligns with Olivia's desire for recognition. If, for example, f!Jesse goes to Redstonia with Olivia, and end up sacrificing Ellegaard to stop the Witherstorm, this might reinforces the belief for them that, partly because this loss is more personal, Ivor should be shown no mercy after he shows up at the cave, repentant. M!Jesse, who went with Axel to Boom Town instead, hasn't felt that more personal loss and might disagree with her decision, and is more willing to forgive Ivor.

These are by no means good examples, but you get the point. You can apply the same kind of thing for Lukas and Petra. There are some interesting ramifications you can explore for the Admin arc, but I'll leave that to your imaginations.

UnFair Dealing in Cobrin'Seil — III

Of course, in Cobrin’Seil, there are player character options that are Fair Folk. This means that much of this mystery runs abruptly into a wall of making something manageable for players to handle, and for those player characters to have an opinion on something that they have experience with just by dint of existing.

In Cobrin’Seil, there are three major cultures that have a connection to the fey (Elves, Eladrin and Dio Baragh), and mixed in with them there are some minor ones (Pixies, Satyrs, and Drow). There are also cultures outside of the Human-centric core that have their own traditions of interaction with the Fey, which includes Orcs and Goblins. Also also there’s the culture of the Terzocco, which is a country with a variety of heritages in it, that are fundamentally under the Fey’s control, and… complicated.

To round out the treatment of ‘the Fey’, then, here is a consideration of things unique to the worldview of the Fey that player characters can have as members of those communities, and how the way the world works influences their perspectives.

Remember, the worldview and theories around how the Fey work are not in any way true or false as facts in the world. You can have a Fey character who genuinely believes that they are an extrusion of Green Mother and everything they understand about personal choice or narrative or wants and needs is just those vibes and demands translated in a way that makes them feel like an individual and not have that be regarded as mental illness. It would be comparable to a modestly normal religious view in our real world, after all.

Glossary Note: Conventionally, the term used in D&D for this mechanical package is race. This is the typical term, and in most conversations about this game system, the term you’re going to wind up using is race. For backwards compatibility and searchability, I am including this passage here. The term I use for this player option is heritage.

Pointy Ears And Endless Years

First of all there are the collection of Fey people under the heading of the ‘First Elves’ group. That is the Eladrin, the Elves, the Drow and the Shadar-Kai, along with the half-elves if you count them. In any situation, the history of these cultures stretches back only so far as they can remember, with the Shadar-Kai cultural history only reaching back to the point where they can remember being imprisoned, and the Drow to the founding of the Underdark. In both of these histories, the Elves already existed and were a known people, which fits with their old history, and then older than even them they say are the Eladrin. This narrative fits for the cultures’ views of themselves, and it’s only modestly untrue; Eladrin and Elves come from the same place and time, and it’s only a matter of who keeps better books that creates the impression of one being older than the other.

To each of these, there is a lineal relationship, that plays into their story. Drow consider themselves to be Fey, and therefore culturally adorn themselves with what they ideologically consider that to be. They are Fey, in the sense that Fey magic works on them and detects them, but their actual connection to the Feywild is pretty stunted to just the vast, brooding Manse that is the underdark. Shadar-Kai consider themselves culturally separate from the others with their stolen Manse that is the Shadar-Kai fortress in the Shadowfell. Both of these cultures see themselves as rebelling against a forebear for some way, and that means both of them need the other cultures present before them in history. The Elves that became Drow, necessarily, need to consider the Elves older than them, then. Similarly, the Elves tell stories that Elves are a naturalised, living form of whatever the Eladrin are.

The Eladrin stand at the top of this hierarchal view of history and therefore, write a lot of the books explaining it, as best they understand it and as complies to their view of what history should be. Ironically, this means that Eladrin control the self-image of these Fey people just because they are the ones who set the first principles of what that means.

As a Fey of this grouping, you inevitably have some relationship to the feeling of the presence of the Feywild. To you, the Feywild is something that just exists, you have a familiarity with it, and you recognise it as part of infrastructure of life. Even the Elves who don’t use it still recognise its importance to their ritual and magic. It’s likely if you’re an Elf, you see a druid tapping the Feywild to encourage growth or to create medicinal plants in your home town.

Uncultural Memory

The Dio Baragh are the next major Fey culture, as people who were once, originally, Fey themselves. In the case of the Dio Baragh, leaving the Feywild was centuries in the past, so almost no living Dio Baragh actually remember the experience — part of becoming non-Fey was becoming subject to time naturally, but there are still some truly ancient members of the culture.

To the Dio Baragh, Fey is other. You don’t discuss it as a cultural thing, or as an experience, because you don’t have that experience. You don’t care about the Fey, because you know you were outcast, for some reason, by the people who ruled it.

To the Dio Baragh, there are features about the Feywild that are known, and congruent with others’ experience, which suggest that the Dio Baragh’s institutional memory of the Feywild are good and solid. But also their understanding of Fey mindsets are reasonably robust as well. The Dio Baragh know that Fey care about stories and characterisation, and they are aware that there are things in the Feywild that are strong, fast, or big on a scale that doesn’t make sense in the real world.

Honestly, most Dio Baragh who are familiar with the topic probably regard the Feywild as awful, because yeah, the world is full of wonder and sometimes that just eats you as a punchline. That sucks and is wildly unfair and scary.

The Fair Folk

One thing that most of the Fey people of Cobrin’Seil can agree upon is that in the Feywild, there are people native to that realm who do not visit the Prime, if they can help it. These are often called different things and under different guises, they are known as The Fair Folk and depending on your culture, there’s going to be a different take on them. What seems consistent given their influence on other, non-fey cultures is that the Fair Folk seem to exist and they seem to exist apart from the cultures of fey characters that make up player characters.

That is to say, there is an indescribable, immaterial thing that doesn’t follow the rules of reality, but it is also somehow seemingly bound to the Feywild. There are Fair Folk out there and they have demands and commands and power, but they are limited to the Feywild; player characters who want to go to or be from or engage with the Feywild have that potential, but there is something fundamentally inimical to these things that keeps them from entering the Prime plane.

That’s part of why they recruit Warlocks and try to exult Paladins (which is an option for players who are interested in it).

Going to the Feywild

It’s not like the Feywild is out of access. These articles have used the term ‘fey realms’ instead of feywild to describe a broader, more generalised term for it, but the feywild is there and its boundaries and limits are very different. It’s a sort of easy access storybook world that’s very near the world you’re in – similar in a lot of ways, heightened in its colours and vibrancy, but also simplified in other strange ways. The reason Eladrin can step through it back to the Prime is like diving into water and emerging elsewhere – it’s just a different surface they can interact with.

Manses aren’t ‘Feywild’ but they use the same idea; a bubble of subordinate reality that is made to fit a dimension and set of rules that make it stable and permanently fixed to and accessible from the Prime plane. Manses aren’t short-term solutions to things; even if you make a Manse where, for example, wine makes you less alcoholic, the work to set that up is on the scale of years, not the scale of an adventure’s normal timeline.

The Feywild can be seen as a kind of antechamber to the greater wilds of the realms of the Fey. This means that there are people who already contact it – knowingly or otherwise – for all sorts of magical effects and needs. This is where Goblins and Orcs interact – it’s not uncommon for Goblins to have access to feywild portals in an established community that they use to get around, and are convenient because they’re small. There’s a reason why goblins pop up in unexpected places if they live there. They know different ways around a place than most people do.

Orcs on the other hand are prone to contacting the Feywild as part of magical rituals, often heavily medicated, which let them connect to and commune to Fey forces that represent not what things are but what things ‘be.’ This is a huge complication for talking with Orcs about animals, for example, because an Orc knows what a horse is as a thing they interact with but they also have language for referring to the primal idea of a horse, which is itself, a story, in the shape of a horse, that that Orc may have personally ridden while absolutely off his gourd. There’s a very clear dividing line, though: Orcs, culturally, don’t think of Orcs as things that exist in that realm, which is because Orcs don’t think of Orcs as permanent, typically. Most Orcish faith systems don’t believe in immortality or an afterlife, but rather a sort of growing into tomorrow. It was one of the cultural beliefs that protected them from missionary work from other cultures and also a number of Evil Gods’ predations.

The result is that Orcs understand the immortal and impossible and ideal exist, but in the same way you understand the postman exists.

With that, this uncomfortably large and somewhat disorganised consideration of ‘Fey Stuff’ comes to a close. I hope it’s been interesting and even if it doesn’t answer all the questions, it at least presents some interesting new ones.

Hello India,

I am a frequent reader of your blog and I have found interesting your answers to some recent asks about Harry and his relationship with the industry. I think we share the same perspective, to start with that he is not a victim and that he is a mature worker with more experience in his professional field than most of us had when we were his age.

There is an area that always confuses me from this angle and I would like to know your opinion if you wish to share it: When it comes to the stunts, how do we perceive Harry. During all these years we have witnessed he wasn't "happy" with none of them; of course, there are different "levels", I can tell how the actual is giving us the most upsetting looks in him. Also, is not the same as being an 18-year-old pushed into it as being a young adult that has evaluated his options and for many different reasons (and implications that I am not going to list but we all can consider) is now involved in one.

I try to make sense of it, stunt-couples are commonly seen for promo and other reasons too, we can recognize many "public" ones out there now and they don't concern me in a sense of "they are having a hard time" while at it. I have read how fans openly say how they "would be upset if Holivia showed a friendly bond" or how they celebrate perceiving this distance because, in the end, it is another confirmation of how fake this is. I don't know how to feel about this, I am here looking at his body language despite the situation they are in, and I only get these horrible vibes.

All these public appearances are brief. On one hand, I think he can anticipate them, get ready, they are planned, he is an actor, he knows, he is aware of it; and on the other hand, why does he have to even pretend? maybe he really doesn't want to fake it, maybe this is his way of showing his discomfort towards it or the industry, or as those fans said, to let us know this is not his thing. Bottom line, should I be worried? what is your take on it?

Wow, okay, lots of interesting conversations in my inbox today. Let me preface this by saying that I’m not (and never have been) in the habit of telling people how to feel. The fandom, and larries, are not a monolith (I think Twitter has proved that extensively) and I think we have to be very aware that there is no right/wrong way to perceive or emotionally react to the narratives we’re being fed. We’re human, we’re going to feel things — unique, rational, irrational things. We can’t help it. We hold onto thoughts that comfort us, and are triggered by thoughts that make us sad or uncomfortable. What’s important is that, whether happy or sad, we each self-soothe in a way that doesn’t hurt ourselves or others, and when it gets to the point where it might, we know when to walk away.

So, in line with that, I’m not here to tell you how you should feel, but I’ll tell you how I feel about stunts, and anything that fits you can take, and anything that doesn’t you can leave behind. 🙂

Harry is 28 years old and has been in this industry for 12 years. It’s naive to think he plays no active part in arranging, negotiating, or participating in stunts — this is his life. More than anything, I would think that that was one of the big negotiating points of his solo contracts: that he would have some level of control over these things. You can see the shift in control in subtle things, like the way he very rarely confirms a stunt relationship (I can only recall the Zack Lowe interview) and how, for as much as he can help it, his stunts are kept off of social media which at least somehow limits the use of it as online fodder (something that can’t be said for other stars, like Camilla and Shawn).

But like I mentioned before, multiple things can be true at the same time, and one truth that I think is important to get comfortable with is that there’s a lot we’ll never know. We’ll never really know just how much leverage and negotiating power Harry has over these narratives or how his stunts are selected. We’ll never know what freedoms and priorities he deems important enough that he’s willing to exchange participation for. We’ll never really know how he feels about his closet in relation to his career. We’ll never really really really know how he feels about his stunt partners (although we can read body language and actively compare that to people we know he chooses to spend time with, we have to admit: we don’t actually know and we’re always looking at things with personal bias attached.)

Personally, I think that Harry is a good person, and that he’s kind and professional, and whatever common ground he can find with O for example, comes from the place of wanting to act appropriately and professionally (I’ve personally worked with a handful of truly awful people, and I have put on a fake smile and treated them like a person just like every adult has had to do, because while I can’t control how awful people are, I can control how I am perceived in a professional environment.)

Alongside Harry being a people pleaser (he just admitted to it yesterday) he’s also smart, and smart people (who have experience in this industry and know how much personal reputation matters) will not be petty enough to burn bridges when there is no need. That said, even the best actors are human and have their limits. I think Harry is very aware of the difference between fans who will accept what they’re told on the surface, and those that will dig deeper (see: his quote about the doors as clues), and that’s why I think he doesn’t try too hard to sell his stunts because he knows the people who believe it believe it, lackluster participation or not, and those who want to see beyond it will already know what he looks like when he’s truly happy and comfortable.

TL;DR — there’s a lot we’ll never know about how Harry feels about stunting and the extent of his “freedom” within these constraints. He acts appropriately and professionally around a person who is essentially a colleague, but as we know, Harry’s natural charm can easily be misconstrued. I think if you take a moment to really think about why you might worry, you’ll find the answer isn’t actually rooted in how he does or does not participate in the stunt but rather in the honest discomfort that you’ll never be 💯 certain of anything (and I mean literally anything), and that’s not a great feeling (nor is the constant gaslighting by the people around us easy to swallow), but that’s reality. Trust your gut. There’s a reason you looked into Larry and became a Larrie, and it wasn’t because of a visual narrative or the pics-and-quotes-or-it-didn't-happen "stone cold facts" print media was selling you. 😉

NatsuBaku (Also?!?! currently there are 27 Bakugou/Natsuo fics on AO3 and only around 16 are like actual full stories (by that I mean not only PWP, or incomplete) Therefore, it’s is my DUTY to provide more. I just feel it in my bones.)

So, on a streak of bad luck Bakugou loses his job, his boyfriend broke up with him, said boyfriend also kicked him out, so there goes his living situation too. He ended up taking the nanny job to fix the living situation, and to also give him something to work with while he sorts out everything for the other job he wants.

So, Natsuo has three kids. Your typical lineup (idk if there’s actually a typical line up of kids shh), a teen, a preteen and a toddler basically. Or maybe whatever you call that age where they’re older than a toddler but not preteen as yet. The age when they still like stickers. Anyway.

The oldest is his daughter. Because being the eldest daughter is A Struggle that I can write from the sole of my feet to the end of my hair follicles.

The middle… Wait middle should be twins.

They should be twins if only for a scene where Bakugou can tell them a part when Natsuo’s girlfriend can’t. Hahaha.

The last child is an toddler who doesn’t like anyone and always cries but is really calm around Bakugou.

The kids all end up loving Bakugou but it takes them a while to Get There. Except the last one. The toddler loves him immediately.

So naturally, when Bakugou first arrives they try to drive him away. They make everything harder for him, from making food, to driving them places, to letting him know how the things around the house work or where stuff is supposed to go. Even purposefully messes up his schedules so he always has to rush when it comes to getting them to things. But if they think they can out stubborn Bakugou??? They got another thing coming.

He curses them every single step of the way, but he does not quit. Nope. Cue a typical scene where they bond because Bakugou helps one of the twins with their homework, and the other is like ‘don’t side with the enemy!!’ but eventually they get won over too when Bakugou starts kinda being an asshole to them too. Whenever Natsuo brings home work, Bakugou lounges in his office and works in whatever he has too.

He listen to Natsuo complain about his coworkers and tell Natsuo about whatever dumb things his friends did/were trying to pull him into or complain about teaching

Natsuo always brings home a pastry from the bakery by his office for Katsuki because according to Natsuo they were the ‘best bakery to ever exist’ but according to Bakugou the goods were ‘subpar at best and I could totally make better’ and he wanted to find one that Bakugou liked so that Bakugou would finally bake him something

Bakugou kinda hated Natsuo at first, because he knows all about shitty parents that don’t give their children the time of day, but he eventually sees that Natsuo is trying his hardest and is here for them in all the ways that matter, so <3 (he also said to himself that the family dynamics wasn’t his business and that he wasn’t going to judge. But there he was, judging, judgingly)

Bakugou falls asleep one night with the kids on the sofa while reading them a book(like a novel novel) (yes even the eldest, she like making fun of his exaggeration/taking turns reading parts) and when Natsuo comes home he just…stops and looks at them.

Consider Natsuo having an emotional freak out and projecting onto Bakugou because the baby’s first word was ‘papa’ but they weren’t looking at Natsuo when they said it. (yeah, one year old still counts as a toddler right? I dont think that's late for your first word?? Is it? I’ll look it up later)

He spends so much time over thinking it and thinking about how much he doesn’t hate it a single bit that he ends up fighting with Bakugou and basically firing him.

And the twins get really upset with him. Visibility upset. He thinks his daughter is fine, because she doesn’t complain or even say anything because #eldestdaughterthings but he hears her crying one night on the phone with Bakugou.

Now, everyone is sad and a bit stand-offish, the baby is crying more often, and he misses Bakugou and everyone else misses him too and it’s a mess.

… they get together when the other parent comes for their like,,, check in, pay confirmation, idk I’ll make up something, and then they ask Natsuo where his ‘little boyfriend is’. After Natsuo clarifies that they’re not dating, never were, and that Bakugou is not here they say something like ‘what a shame. love looked good on you.’ or something to that effect, I don’t know the words right now, just the vibe.

(I totally forgot about the girlfriend I mentioned earlier so yeah, this was where he finally saw that he needed to break up with her, she already saw it coming, pain, bless her heart)

Anyway. Natsuo going to find Bakugou and there is some cursing, some tears, well deserved use of the term ‘fucking idiot’, maybe a bit of time and space(?) and finally *plays It’s Quiet Uptown* ‘forgiveness. Can you imagine?’.

Welp, that's the main plot! Writing will definitely include more characters (Fuyumi, Shoto, my loves, I’m looking at you) and what not. I’ll get on it right after I finish the next few chapters of the BakuMomo friendship fic i have going on.

Hm, I think Bobby was in a relationship that lasted just over a year as his longest, and that she was a uni student while he worked. She’s the one who cheated on him, possibly with someone in her cohort, and it absolutely broke his heart for a while.

I can honestly only see her as having had plenty of flings, and not being ashamed of any of them. She’s probably also dated multiple people at the same time, and not seen the big deal – she’d never really hide it. Her longest relationship probably only lasted a few months.

Gary (23)

He says himself that girls never seem to consider him a serious option (😭), so he’s slept around a lot but never really had a relationship. Maybe he’s had a longer friends-with-benefit situation, and someone he thought of as a potential girlfriend but who only broke his heart.

I can see Henrik having had a relationship that lasted for about two years, something which started when he was around 18 but which ended when the realised they’d grown apart. Both before and after that he’s mostly just had fun and been largely noncommittal though.

Poor Rahim, I think he’s only been in relatively short relationships although he’s wanted them to last longer. I think him being fit and now wealthy has probably worked against him in some ways, and he hasn’t made a meaningful connection with anyone... yet. So I’d say maybe 10 months as his longest.

I can see Jakub lose interest in women so quickly. Maybe he’s managed to make a relationship last for a year or so, but I really think he holds his potential partner to a ridiculously high standard and that he’s got a wandering eye, making a long-term relationship tricky.

Lucas (27)

I can see him having been in two longer relationships (over 2 years), and that it was in the first one he cheated and thus ending it. He was dumb and young, and still very much regrets it. His other long relationship ended amicably a couple of years before going on the show. Him being in some longer relationship also explains why his “number” isn’t quite as high as one might expect.

Marisol (24)

I can see Marisol having been in a handful of short relationships, and pretty much only with men, but that none of them ever really felt “right” to her. Coming to terms with her sexuality combined with focusing on her studies and career has simply meant relationship always take a back seat for her. I’d say her longest relationship lasted perhaps a year.

Noah (25)

I think Noah’s longest relationship to-date would be around 3 years, and that she dumped him. They probably got together during Uni, but it fizzled out soon after they both graduated and got real jobs. This may or may not have been his ex Priya...

Rocco (21)

Ehhh, I’d say maybe six months... I just can’t see him being able to stay with anyone for longer than that, and of course he’s always the one to break off a relationship (according to him) and it’s always because “our life paths were diverging” or “her chakra and aura just didn’t vibe with mine anymore, you know?”

Brothers with Mc Who Has PGAD (Pt 1 of ?)

This is going to be different then my other headcanons. I tried doing them like usual, but it didn't sit well with me. This is only like the first two chapters?? Idk how to explain it. It's hard to show the issues with PGAD in a relationship without just rehashing my chronic pain ask. I might be a bit rusty because I'm playing off and on right now, so please forgive if anyone is OOC.

Also, I want to state that this is NOT a representation of everyone who has PGAD. I couldn't possibly fit all the symptoms, feelings, and causes in here without contradicting myself. There are many causes in the female sex though (Deposits built on the clitoris, slipped disc, hormonal imbalances, pregnancy, misfiring signals from the brain/nerve, ext). I have a fucked up nerve somewhere along the line. I'm a rare case of a rare disorder where I was born with it and haven't experienced a day without PGAD. These are only how I expect someone with my exact symptoms would react, and how the brothers would react to that. Also! If you have PGAD, and don't know ways to help out, I'll give you some tips. Just hmu baby 💞.

Warning! Sensitive Content!

Coming to the Devildom is just as you'd expect it to be, it's literal hell.

You're stressed, like, majorly so. You don't have your medications on you, you've been seperated from your phone, and these demons are telling you you'll have to stay in their realm for a year, doctor's visits be damned.

The emotional connection between your pain and your reactions is rising by the second. It's clear on your face, and most probably by the way you dig your nails into the palms of your hands, attempting to draw your attention away from the growing burning sensation.

You don't feel comfortable being set up in a strange house with seven strange demons. They're rowdy and rude and it just sets you on edge to the point that you're very near jumping everytime one of them speaks to you.

They don't speak to you often, thankfully. If you refuse to engage with them, they're fine with keeping their distance. Sometimes you'll hear something from Mammon, your appointed guide, and the blonde seems to enjoy commenting on what books you're reading, but that's about it.

But then you're expected to go to school, five days a week, whilst fulfilling a stupid task list everyday, and all that pressure really weighs on you before it's even begun.

You can't sit down for eight hours, let alone sit on a hard surface in such a toxic that is highschool without being put out of commission for a few days. This will really mess with their whole plan, and you doubt you'll get cut any slack if you don't actually let at least one of the council members in on your condition.

It shouldn't have to be that way. You shouldn't have to justify your state of wellbeing to people you've barely known for two days, but the only way out of here is by playing the game, so you target the eldest brother.

You explain to Lucifer your condition. It's very professional, straight-forward, and he doesn't ask many questions besides the obvious.

The two of you eventually come to a pretty decent arrangement. On the days when you're in too much pain to handle things, you can stay home, and do whatever you can to catch up. It's not exactly the best option, considering you have different teachers online and in person, but it works for the most part.

He does require you to do some studying with the third eldest though. Leviathan, you learn, is a shut-in. Most his schooling is online, and since you're situation tends to make you miss many days of school, Lucifer wants him to help you out.

The two of you don't exactly get along at first. Leviathan is the type to work alone, and he's not the best at explaining. So during the first two days, you kinda flounder from paper to paper, task to task. It's just more stress on your plate. You snap at him when he gets impatient with you, and he'll return the gesture with some mumbled insults.

Eventually the two of you get to a state where you can at least work together without arguing over something small, but he's still a little annoying to you.

Satan kinda steps up here too. He knows Levi isn't really the best at explaining things that aren't dipped in a convoluted storyline, so he tries to help out when he sees you in the library, often searching for information for your assignments.

And Satan is incredibly patient. Even without knowing of your condition, and that's kinda the support you need. Learning with PGAD is hard, because any sort of frustration just puts you in pain. He doesn't get offended if you snap, or if you're a bit stubborn because of this. Something about him recognizes that desperation in your eyes; the want to do things, but he just knows there's something holding you back. He's not sure what, and he doesn't ask out of respect for whatever you must be dealing with (Which is such a breath of fresh air).

Mammon, on the other hand, isn't as graceful in his approach. He doesn't really pick up on your vibes and that proves to be a bit unfortunate when you're having a hard time translating your feelings.

He takes most things you say a little too personal, despite also having a tendency to blurt out the first thing that comes to mind.

You two get on each other's nerves pretty equally. The stress that results makes being in his presence a bit difficult.

But no one makes your life worse then Asmodeus.

Sure, he's sweet. He probably picks up on the fact that you take baths as often as he does and gives you some fancy soaps/stuffs, but he's a little too touchy.

And a bit too sexual.

You try to distance yourself from him, and it has mixed results depending on how persistent Asmodeus is feeling that day.

The only one who you don't interact with much is Beel, and that's kind of a blessing in disguise. You're hardly a few days into your residency in the Devildom and you're already struggling to keep up with school and the brothers (as well as the voice coming from the attic...but you try to push that and Lucifer's threats to the back of your mind.)

Things only get worse when you make your pact with Mammon. In fact, the only good thing that really comes out of it is that you are able to help out Leviathan. Everything else feels like a shitstorm.

There was the expected teasing. The "Mammon was dumb enough to get played by a human" bit that really got old after the first time and a few offers to make some more pacts from lesser demons at school (which you always turned down). All the attention made your day stressful as fuck. You could hardly think without feeling strongly in some sort of way, and having a stabbing pain zeroing in on your pelvis.

And to your suprise, he can totally feel it.

(Personally I like to believe pacts go a bit deeper then the 'oh I can make you do things'. I feel it should be considered more, given how much power is given to them, and how often it's stated that the guys don't just give them out. If they were just about control, I have no doubt Mammon would have probably used it in a moment of desperation. In fact, it's kinda out of character that he hasn't at least made the mistake ONCE, so I headcanons there is a emotional/physical bond that comes with it.)

It's not completely there. He doesn't get all the pain and strife you do, but there's enough for him to kinda put the pieces together. He's not delicate in approaching you about it, however he thankfully does pull you aside after dinner, saving you the embarrassment of talking about genitals at the dinner table.

You explain to him what exactly PGAD is. That your body is feeling a sexual desire, but you mind isn't. So, instead of being pleasurable, it's painful.

He's not exactly sure what you're saying, but he becomes a lot more protective over you from now on.

I just recently got into the Old Republic Fandom, and the Eternal Empire is my favorite arc. I do wish there was more story content to give more development to the characters, particularly in Arcann's case. While I love his romance scenes, I wish there were more scenes about his redemption and relationship with the Outlander or a dark side ending where the Outlander or Arcann takes the throne with the other as a consort. I found your blog while trying to find content further developing his character. Thank you so much for posting all your headcanons and musings!

With that being said, what are your headcanons for Zakuul culture? And could you post a masterpost compilation of your Arcann headcanons? I am trying to find the post where the romance novels headcanon originated in the tags and not having much luck.

Hi anon!! Sorry for a late reply. First I’ll answer the second part of your message. The romance holonovels headcanon originated from the this post ; the post doesn’t outright say it, but some people in the tags (when they reblogged it) mentioned that Arcann probably seemed like the type to read romance in his free time. As of what I can remember the tags were from this reblog and this other reblog and both say that Arcann reads romance holonovels. The continuation of this headcanon were in replies or tags, so it’s hard to track them all down! Secondly, my Arcann tag is a mess, and I probably threw in multiple headcanons in reblogs or tags so it would be hard to find them all... I’ll think about making a masterpost, but I don’t think I have time for something like that right now. Ok, now that’s over with... I 100% agree with you, anon! I HAVE so many things to say about the possibility about that dark side ending. I don’t think devs were planning to make Arcann a possible romance option in the beginning, so it wouldn’t have been possible to be his LI and rule as emperor/empress. I also agree with the development of the characters... however, Arcann’s redemption and relationship with the Outlander was definitely rushed, because the plans to make a third expansion was apparently cancelled due to the backlash from fans who wanted pub vs. imp back. I made a whole post complaining about that... Otherwise, I definitely think they would have had more time to flesh out his characters and the other Zakuulan characters as well (Vaylin, Senya, Koth, etc.). I’m like pretty much sure content was cut out from KOTFE/KOTET to make them shorter. Due to such lost content, I have to create my headcanons from extrapolation based on the Sacrifice trailer, available codex entries, existing dialogue, and implications of existing issues. As well as other people’s hcs and commentary!! WARNING: SUPER LONG BULLET POINTS for Zakuulan culture headcanons.

The reason why I don’t have that many Zakuulan culture headcanons is because.... I feel like it’s so weirdly explored in the expansions.

I think the arts is a big thing in Zakuul! The Dragon’s Maw chapter gave me that kind of vibe. I also discussed this mildly (not) with Arcann. Most specifically THEATRE, PERFORMANCE AND SINGING. 

Evidence: Senya sings and composes and there’s the famous Zakuulan holoperformer, Malita Tal. No, I don’t have evidence for theatre, but honestly? Zakuulans are so goddamn dramatic, they most definitely have reality TV series or drama series... 

arcann be like oh you listen to malita tal? name all of her albums in alphabetical order or you get exiled

Zakuulan culture most definitely has idol culture, based on Malita Tal (and reportedly her performances were watched by millions). And those fans apparently also protested against Arcann’s rule. personally i think if they had twitter the u.s. gov*rnment would be wiped out.

I just think singing is a big thing in Zakuulan culture. I mean, even Valkorion sings (if you decide to kill Senya, his force ghost appears. They both have an exchange and it’s actually sweet for like 0.1 second). 

I also think there would be typical Zakuulan fairytales embedded in the culture. Hear me out. Most specifically those type of royal fairytales with the princes and princesses. This can be heavily contributed to the fact that a royal family is essentially in power. 

You cannot expect me to believe not a single person in Zakuul has written a Prince Arcann x reader holofic. You just can’t. Or Prince Thexan. Actually, I think Thexan would be more common, I think he was perceived to be more compassionate and kind compared to Arcann by the common folk? Since I know there’s that NPC dialogue where one of them goes how different it would be if Thexan took the throne instead. 

The fairytales would probably involve a lot of references to the Old Gods. I kinda imagine that the enemy would be some sort of serpent, that is, Zildrog, because apparently he’s just a bedtime story to scare children away. 

I think these Zakuulan fairy tales would contribute to the theatre and performance, acting culture that Zakuul has. 

Furthermore, I just think the Tirall kids probably read these fairytales as well. francis dont talk about arcann reading again

I want to talk about the Old Gods and that religion, which is one of my favorite things ever... probably because the Gods are machines. Superweapon machines... ok ill shut up

Even if Valkorion basically got rid of the religion, it’s clear that the religion is still incorporated into heavy talk in Zakuulan culture (e.g. eyes of Esne, heart of Scyva). 

My headcanon is that there are sanctuaries or small secret churches (?) for those who want to worship the Old Gods. Obviously the Herald of Zildrogs who believe in the Old Way are a cult, so I think people would look for an alternative. 

I think there would be great effort to hide these places, as it can get you exiled. Thus these would probably be located in the Old World, rather than in a more obvious position like the Spire. 

The beliefs of the Old Ways isn’t exactly clear, they aren’t exactly touched upon, which is a shame. I think people would ask for help from each of these gods depending on what they want.

Those who ask for Izax’ guidance want to seek success, accomplishments, power, and glory.

Those who ask for Scyva’s guidance ask for her to guide souls peacefully to death (she is described as someone who weeps beside Zakuulans as they march towards Izax - basically death) , or ask for help/compassion from her. Maybe maternity as well? Or parental love?

Those who ask for Aivela (goddess of passion) want her to guide them with her passion (Aivela accompanies Tyth, who is kind of a god of war/warrior). I think there would also be romance related stuff as well. If someone asked for help regarding their love related issues, it would probably be from Aivela!

I’m not sure about Esne - but maybe in a similar sense, if someone is suffering with jealousy - in any situation, they would ask guidance from her. I don’t know where I read this but I think the “eyes of Esne” expression meant like having eyes of jealousy.

Nahut? I don’t think he was worshipped.  “Nahut was considered to be gray, formless and cold, and was denied worship by all except his mother Scyva.” But regardless, I think he still had a role to play. 

After the Outlander takes the throne, and Zakuul renounces their membership from the Eternal Alliance, I think people would be allowed to openly express their religious beliefs, that is, the Old Ways. Oh, personally I headcanon that they would build beautiful places of worship in the Spire with similar geometrical pyramid designs...!! 

Yeah...I think that’s all I got! I’ll need to see how I can somehow make this post easily found, lol. This is quite a long list, and I have to emphasize that these are my headcanons! They are based on what I see and I just kind of fill in the gaps to fit my own stories. This took a while to write because I KNEW I had these headcanons, but they just didn’t appear at the time I saw this anon ask. Anyways, I’ll probably create more headcanons in the future. Also:

I have so many things to say about this. I know the game won’t permit it, because if you think about it, both the light side choice (Eternal Alliance) and the dark side choice (Eternal Empire) are happy endings for your characters anyways. They can continue as the “hero” or the “protagonist”, so I don’t think this route could ever be implemented. However, I think it would be absolutely interesting if throughout the gameplay, players are given a choice to flirt with Arcann. The Outlander and Arcann agree to get rid of Valkorion, but thats if the Outlander decides to betray the Alliance and joins Arcann instead. And should they join him, they have the choice to romance him... and I guess it’s a happy ending for you both :P Obviously this won’t happen, but maybe it will. I wouldn’t mind being the prince consort of Arcann lol idk! me and vaylin are gonna be besties and we’ll paint each others nails or something Oh and have a nice day too anon...!!

Holy shit it took over a year and I barely remember which fanfic ask this is about...I think it's like a director's cut one? REGARDLESS! I do remember the star was to like talk about whatever - and while looking for a WIP I came across an attempt to answer this WITHIN a wip? Past Nico what were you thinking?!

I do know this was written sometime before Ch15 of Terpsichore came out, because there were a few references? But I rephrased the wording a bit.

Forgive me for using this as an excuse to just babble on about how I choose the music titles for chapter sections in Terpsichore, but also, I'm not entirely sorry haha Without further Ado! Here’s hoping this rambling makes sense haha!!

⭐ AN ANSWER!（♥￫ｏ￩♥）

So it’s taken me a long time to figure out how I wanted to answer this. For a while I was going to ramble about M*A*S*H how it was a rather formative show for me growing up, especially in its anti-war message as well as how it feels like a comedy played in a minor key. There was even going to be a link to a video essay on the show, and then I was going to hint at a want to write a series following the changelings in a pre-show context in the sort of vibe M*A*S*H gave.

But it got lost, and weighty…and…idk, I can’t seem to stick to a lot of things these days? I don’t know.

But there’s always been in me the want to attempt to explain why I choose the music pieces I choose to title the sections in each chapter. Cause despite the little message at the bottom of the first chapter and the last chapter talking about motifs leitmotifs…writing prose is nothing like composing music.

And not only that I’m sure less than half of the people reading the fic will listen along with the playlist. Which is 100000% fine! I anticipate it even!

Because at best, those sectional pieces serve less as soundtrack more like a silent movie’s musical medley.

Because it’s the written word, and I’m not Andrew Hussie ldgj though the day I find out how to put a little ‘play button’ to listen to music during a fic, I might do that. But at this point in time Hell No haha.

Despite this, there is a process behind my music selections.

There is a difference between what I consider ‘corpse de ballet’/ ‘ensemble’ sections, and ‘leads’ / ‘duet’ sections.

Or what my poor readers go through as ‘a shit ton of prospective shifts’ and two prospectives at best, at the same time. I don’t know why I’m such a fan of bouncing between perspectives so much that you probably feel seasick. I always consider it a miracle anyone understands what the heck is going on dfjglk The answer is probably because I like third person omniscient writing, and am a sucker for situational/character irony. But I’m also a grammar school drop out haha and don’t actually know the rules of writing by heart? I’m just a fool with a bunch of vibes and a dictionary doing their best lol.

But yeah! Enough borderline weird self deprecating! Let’s talk music!!

So! Usually when writing a section I try and think about who are the central characters in the section, and or what is the theme/emotion I’m trying to call on. Is there a motif, or a reference I can play on musically? An idea or concept I can echo or even enhance? Will it be a specific genera of music tied to a character because that character embodies and or is known for a specific genera (example: Nomura and Opera- more on that at during ACTII )

Once I answer those questions, I’m able to narrow down my music choices. Which, again, acts more like a book of suggested musical medley orchestras and musicians would purchase during the silent movie era as like a cheat sheet of what they could play during a specific scene.

So…for instance, for a character like Barbara Lake I wouldn’t use video game music -or maybe I could…but it would only be in terms of perhaps referencing her son.- who I would have a higher chance at choosing to select a video game music piece for (hang on to your butts ACT II Zelda soundtrack).

In the fic I’ve built the idea that in order to explain Barbara’s ability to paint, that she not only took classes but was part of the production team in putting on a play, mainly in set design painting props. Which opens me to a world of musical options when it comes to Barbara’s character. Especially when certain musicals hold songs that can be really fitting to her character later on. An example of this can be seen in ch3 “Aquarius”, and ch14 “Julia”.

Ch3 is Barbara’s big planned picnic date. The first date she and Walter go on after she ingested the binding spell. The two of them coming together, but also the magic of which awakening something magical inside.

And Ch14 in which the binding spell is broken, but also whatever was holding Barbara’s potential to reaching towards that magical something inside her is also broken. And in a sort of my own attempt at written diegesis between the narrative and the song selections in the sections, the lyrics to Aquarius is written out as Barbara depends into the water. In which it is no longer the dawning of Aquarius, Aquarius is starting to take center stage. Their cue is played.

That would be my example on a very character driven musical choice.

Not only that, but it is at Ch3 where Walter is influenced more and more to Barbara’s appreciation to musicals, so much so that it begins to influence his own array of music pieces. His dreams no longer dialogue from movies he fell asleep to, but sometimes full on reproductions of staged musicals and plays. An example of this can be seen in Ch11 On the Right Track from Pippin the Musical - which oof I could go into a full dissertation on in regards to changelings/Pippin and The Pale Lady/Leading Player.

Not only that, but due to influence from Barbara’s love we get the moment of Walter’s ‘I want’ section piece in the form of Ch9 “Corner of the Sky” (aka Pippin’s I want song as well). The moment before this happened there was the interaction with Angor AND Otto AND the repercussions of Angor attacking the school. It is clear to these characters that Strickler is not giving his all in killing Jim, and perhaps never tried to give his all. Something that Otto proclaims as Strickler making excuses, and Strickler insists is tact.

Then there is the situational character driven choice.

I’m going to continue to use Barbara as an example here, and say that THIS can be seen in Ch2 “No. 9 – Finale Andante” and ch12 “Le Lac Des Cygnes Introduction: Moderato Assai”

Both of these music pieces come from Swan Lake. The reasoning behind the choice is probably asinine in thought process (Barbara Lake, Swan Lake), but also thought out in the sense of the following:

In Season3 of Trollhunters Morgana, in order to attempt to reacquire her shadow staff from Strickler (“The Exorcism of Clair Nuñez), transforms herself to take Barbara Lake’s physical form.

IN THE BALLET SWAN LAKE The wizard Von Rothbart, in order to obtain what they want, transforms (granted someone else) Odile to look like the hero Odette in order to trick the prince into proclaiming this imposter Odile as their one true love. In which Odile is the mirror to Odette, and while looking similar (in fact typically the ballerina who performs as Oddette would also perform as Odile) are opposites in spirit.

And, at least in Terpsichore, what near primordial eldritch force can rival that of the Eldritch Queen that we know from cannon will inevitably impersonate Barbara Lake?

But wait, there’s more.

In chapter 2 the piece used in section 2 is the end of ACTI from Swan Lake. The music hints not only the arrival of Odette, but also her inevitable tragedy. What is written in this section, briefly at that cause we watched how the scene plays out in the show, you don’t need me writing that back at you, but I digress- What is WRITTEN in this section is Barbara sipping the enchanted tea that binds herself to Waltolomew Strickler. Something that you, the viewer and fan will know ends in tragedy, as do I the writer and also fan knows will end in tragedy. The only people out of the loop here are the poor poor characters.

And then the revolving door of bad situations that is ch12 happens, and we return to Swan Lake with “Le Lac Des Cygnes Introduction” In which Barbara is introduced to Jim Lake’s Trollhunting world, finally. But wait! There’s EVEN more.

Because not only is Barbara introduced to Jim’s Trollhunting world, Barbara begins to allow herself an introduction to that weird magical more that’s inside her via dream. And YOU/WE the reader/writer/audience, are introduced to the strange figure Giselle is talking to on the beach of Lake Superior…who…well, you’ve probably already have an idea as to who that figure is ;)c

There are also moments when I just select a song piece because I think it fits Thematially well - ch11’s “Powerhouse” section. Aka the music that plays in Looney Tunes whenever an assembly line montage occurs - to which in that section Jim Draal and Walter are putting together the booby-traps to thwart Angor Rot (as well as try to reassemble some sort of emotional connection between them). Or it could be a reference to a meme I really enjoyed, example Ch12’s “Roundabout” aka the music piece known vernacularly as “The Jojo Meme” but also like…meme aside it’s really good and fits and just lkfgjkgsdj I have a lot of feels about Roundabout and I won’t apologize for it haha

And yet, something I pride myself in, is that you don’t need to know all of this to enjoy the story. It isn’t necessary to listen to the Swan Lake pieces or even the Musicals, or even the Jojo Meme. Because, if I did my job right, those echoes ought to be in the writing. The pieces to the section have always been optional. Just little markings in a booklet to be given to you the reader/composer as a suggestion and you can choose to play those pieces along to the silent film, or boot up a ragtime. And that’s the power you have. And that’s equally as wonderful!

This entire song is about how someone's life gets absolutely destroyed by drug abuse. Or at least, that's how I always interpreted this. But drug abuse always makes me think about any kind of obsessions doing exactly the same thing. So I love this song for Anakin in particular. That "I was one in a million" giving me this "Chosen One" vibe. Like he got lost on the way to what he was supposed to be, and now that he's fallen he has no clue how to get back to what he was supposed to be, that one in a million.

Another classic song that is in basically any ships' playlist. And it fits so much with unrequited love (or pining in general). How can I not think of Obi-Wan trying desperately to be a good Jedi while he's well aware of his feelings for Anakin?

This entire song makes me think of one of those situations where both of them are pining and convinced that the other is about to tell them something that would end up breaking their heart. Basically first half is Obi-Wan knowing from the start that they won't work, maybe because he thinks Anakin is in love with Padmé and that's what Anakin wants to talk about; second half is Anakin, sure that Obi-Wan would deny having feelings for him because of how much he loves being a Jedi so he tries to be a better Jedi for the sake of Obi-Wan. Because I love the trope of both of them being too oblivious to realize they are in love.

I'm perfectly aware that this is a song about faith. It's basically like a call to pray because even when you are lost the one person that will always be there for you is God. BUT, this actually works pretty well for the Jedi Order too. And if we think of how Anakin joined the Jedi, how he felt like the only thing he would lose is his mother, it kinda makes sense with these lyrics. And even Obi-Wan: he was given to the Jedi when he was so young that that's the only life he knows. At the same time, it can be about Anakin and Obi-Wan finding that solace in each other too, because sure, the entire Order is there to support them. But it's almost like it's their last option to them, because when in need the first person they go to is the other.

You should know me by now. If a song that is basically perfect for Obi-Wan post RotS, I'm gonna find it. And this one is just PERFECT! Like, Obi-Wan absolutely feels like he owes something to the universe because he is the one who failed Anakin, who allowed him to fall. So I imagine him wanting a do-over, a chance to stay away from Anakin so that Anakin can be better and his own heart can't be broken in such a terrible way. Basically, this is also perfect for a time traveler Obi-Wan trying to fix things from day 1.

(And I picked the acoustic version because it gives me more soft love-making vibes, but the original one is perfect for a more passionate kind of mood).

Do I even have to explain this? It's basically perfect for all of Anakin's issues with jealousy, but with what yellow eyes mean in this fandom it could absolutely be about Sith!Anakin. It's just such a fitting song for these two, with Obi-Wan trying to reason with a very unreasonable Anakin... Being a woman, I know perfectly that this song is about how sometimes women have to grow up to be mean because of all of the abuse they go throw in their life. But I kind of see Anakin as this person that would absolutely blame everyone else for his fall to the Dark Side and this works so well! Like, the doll house is a metaphor for how the Jedi Order was supposed to be his home, but in the end he felt like he was used, like the Jedi told him they loved him just to trick him into doing whatever they wanted, basically cheating him of a simpler life with his mom. And even the looking in the mirror thing could be when he's already in the Vader suit and he doesn't know if Vader is what he was supposed to be all along or somewhere inside him there's this young innocent child trying to get out. What can I say, most of the times I have Obi-Wan feelings. But every once in a while I find something twisted enough to give me Anakin/Vader feelings too.

Okay, this is kind of perfect for a very specific kind of AU. He was sure that would make Obi-Wan accept his love and try to get in a relationship, instead Obi-Wan panicked and asked to get sent as far away from Anakin as he could. So of course Anakin is filled with regret about his confession.

Mainly Obi-Wan's, that maybe feels like Anakin played with him just so that they could sleep together, but never actually tried to put a pin on what their relationship is supposed to be after. And Obi-Wan realizes that part of the reason is that Anakin is still so young and maybe he's the one that made a mistake. Like, he's not even sure that what he feels is real, but he still keeps following what Anakin wants because what is the alternative after all?

This song can honestly fit multiple things. It can absolutely be Obi-Wan accepting that Anakin reaches out for him only in certain situations and him always being open to it, no matter how their relationship isn't really the traditional kind of relationship (like, a friends with benefits kind of deal). But it can also be Obi-Wan and Anakin getting together when Anakin is already Vader, so Obi-Wan is slowly falling to the Dark Side too. You can also just use this as another song to write soft love making too since it's so slow and soft. Or just do whatever you want with it.

Yeah, that's the angst that hurts in the best way! (But, you know, can totally be reversed to Obi-Wan in love with Anakin in a canon scenario with Anakin married to Padmé.)

Back with the complicated relationship and the angst. Can see this in a canon compliant AU with both Anakin and Obi-Wan not really wanting to admit they are in love with each other, but somehow they always end up sleeping together, and telling the other how much they love them just to regret all of it the day after. Basically making things complicated for no reason other than Obi-Wan not wanting to break the rules/his belief that he's meant for infinite sadness, but also because Anakin can't give up on this twisted love despite how much it hurts him and being petty in trying to make Obi-Wan suffer just as much.

Not putting lyrics here because this entire song gives me Obi-Wan on Tatooine post-RotS vibes. Like, he's literally on the planet Anakin came from, there to protect Anakin's kids. OF COURSE he sees Anakin's "ghost". Like, he sees so much of Anakin in Luke when he grows up. And it feels kind of fitting as a punishment for Obi-Wan to be slowly going crazy because he keeps being haunted by this image of Anakin around him. Literally this line: "why you gotta make me weak to make me stronger". That's Obi-Wan trying to get over this love for Anakin and realizing that he has to mourn and suffer before he becomes stronger and able to get free from this ghost's hold. (But, you know, Anakin's ghost might even be actually Anakin, in a scenario where Anakin is actually trapped inside of Vader and trying to get free by reaching out to Obi-Wan for help.)

The music in wtFOCK season 3 - Song #30

Zaterdag 09.41 // "Past Lives" - BØRNS

Up until this point, season 3 had been a roller-coaster of emotions, and after weeks with several ups and downs, it finally seemed like things were going in the right direction for Robbe and Sander. After spending weeks apart, they finally reunited the night before, and made a promise to each other, that it would always be the two of them in every universe. And as we learned months later, that night meant something very special to Robbe and Sander, because they consider it the beginning of their relationship, the day they chose to love each other.

That's why it came as a surprise to Robbe, that he woke up alone in his bed, without any signs of Sander. At first, he seemed a bit confused, and for a split second he wondered if last night actually happened, but he knows it was real, that they spend the whole night holding each other close, not wanting to let go, not wanting the moment to end. So, waking up without any trace of Sander, considering the nigh they had, was painful for Robbe and just when he was about to lose hope, thinking Sander had left him again, he came back, and the smile on Robbe's face was so heart-warming; he's so in love with Sander and there's no way for him to hide it.

But even though Robbe was relieved to see Sander again, he couldn't deny the emotions that emerged, when he thought Sander had left him. Because at some level, I think Robbe was a bit unsecure about their relationship and if they were going to stay together this time, and that's understandable, given everything they've been through. But Sander tries to reassure him, that he has nothing to worry about, that he won't get rid of him that easily and that everything is over between him and Britt. Maybe Robbe was doubting Sander, because he had made similar promises before, but there's something inside of Robbe, that believes Sander this time, that it's going to be the two of them from now on. And how can Robbe stay mad, when he sits in Sander's lap, while Sander looks up at him, with the most stunning eyes, making him look more beautiful than ever before.

At that point, I think Sander's words was enough for Robbe, because he didn't necessarily need a big explanation, Robbe just needed to know if Sander had meant what he said last night, that it was going to be the two of them forever. And Sander knows that feeling better than anyone, he understands the need for reassurance, because he sometimes feels the same way. He knows that he needs to erase the doubt in Robbe's mind, because for Sander there is no other option than Robbe, so he tells him, that from now on, it's just the two of them.

A sense of relief goes through Robbe's body after hearing those words, and you can see how his upper body seems to relax, while the firm expression on his face disappears as it gets replaced by a smile. Robbe closes his eyes, slowly leaning down towards Sander so their lips can collide, and everything feels intense and powerful, especially since the camera is, once again, so close to them. Because when their lips meet, it's the best feeling in the words, as it is a mixture of safety, comfort, passion, desire, love and so much more.

As they continue their passionate kiss, the music starts in the background, beginning with a high tone that blends with the soft melody of the song. It's sweet and tender, but when the melody gets higher, Sander flips them around, crawling up to lay on top of Robbe, so he can look deeply into his eyes. And at that point, the higher tones seem to come down from their peak, which creates a more mellow and loving atmosphere. Robbe is a bit surprised, but at the same time he giggles lightly, before the moment becomes more intimate and intense, as they look deeply and longing into each other's eyes.

When Sander whispers to Robbe, that he's holding him close and that he's never letting go of him, the softer melody fills the background, and it seems very fitting for the situation, that, in some way, need a deeper and more intimate feeling.  As they're lying close to each other, lips almost touching, the melody creates a calmness that surrounds them, almost resulting in a feeling of relief, but also a feeling of closeness, romance and happiness, and in that moment, it was impossible for my heart, not to skip a beat.

But what I find interesting about the song is the lyrics and the meaning behind them, which seems, not only, fitting to this clip and to Robbe and Sander, but the song could also be interpret to have a connection to the theory about parallel universes, a theory that's a huge part of season 3 in general. As Robbe and Sander deepens the kiss, making it more passionate and loving, the lyrics below can be heard in the background:

This isn't our first time around

If you don't interpret the lyrics, they could indicate, that this isn't the first time Robbe and Sander kiss, or the first time they're being intimate with each other. But if you interpret the lyrics, they might indicate that Robbe and Sander have met in another life, that this isn't their first time around. However, in their current lives, they found each other, where all the time they've spend apart, only made their reunion even sweater, as we saw the night before this clip, where they finally found their way back to each other.

The artist, behind the song, talks about reincarnation, but I think the lyrics also can be seen in connection to parallel universes, because in some way, this isn't the first time Robbe and Sander have meet each other, this isn't the first time they kiss, because they're also together in other parallel universes, just with different names and looks. And I think that's the beauty about season 3, because Isak and Even's conversation about it in SKAM, actually became true, when the remakes made their own version of season 3.

Maybe I'm overanalysing, but I just remember hearing those two sentences and I immediately started thinking about parallel universes, and maybe that's why wtFOCK chose the song, to somehow acknowledge the other remakes with a very small detail. It's just interesting, that they only chose to have those lyrics in the clip, and once again I have a hard time believing it's a coincidence. But maybe the song got chosen, because it just fitted the vibe of the scene, the intensity, the intimacy and the closeness between Robbe and Sander.

The clip ends with Sander kissing down Robbe's neck, obviously having something in mind and Robbe just takes it all in; the pleasure, the enjoyment and the desire he has for Sander. And even though we had something big waiting for us, at the end of the week, it made emotional to know, that in that exact moment, Robbe and Sander were so in love with each other and just so happy to finally be together.

* backstory. > many people know of yuanjun, but few people truly know him. he's the famous kong families’ son, heir to the kong legacy, now forward position for south korea men’s national hockey team - which brought forth a ton of international fame from back home and amongst hockey lovers worldwide. while his talent is undeniable, he is long overshadowed by his families’ accomplishments, forever reminded that he’d never be the perfect son they’d hoped for, and no one ever lets him forget it.

> being the child of business tycoons who’s art business seemed to never be on the decline, tended to lend itself to an unconventional, pretty lonely childhood.

> his family do not approve of his job, ofc. in fact neither of his parents have ever attended any of his matches to this day, and are only on semi-decent terms with him because jun begrudgingly is still tied by name to the business and shows his face at events for all of 30 minutes until he physically can no longer maintain pleasantries. his celebrity image perhaps is one thing they can manipulate, and even then, jun could get into scandals galore and still be doing his job. good press, bad press, it has the kong’s family name at the forefront of peoples’ minds, which always brings forth revenue.

aubrey was born as the second of four children to fairly well off parents in arlington, virginia. her father had made his money in insurance, and her mother was a well respected professor at georgetown university.

none of the sterling kids had ever wanted for anything - a comfortable lifestyle that had given each of the children the opportunity to explore their own sports and hobbies as they saw fit.

aubrey felt most at home in the debate club. she’d find flaws in arguments without much hesitation, able to wipe the floor with any of the opponents that came her way. she led her high school debate team to victory a number of times during her time, far grateful to have found that rather than have been pushed into something far out of her comfort zone - like sports.

it was no surprise that aubrey went into pre-law when she was accepted into brown. brown wasn’t her first choice of undergrad establishments, but it was merely a stepping stone onto a wider career for her. she came into her own, found her independece, and thrived. 

achieving a spectacular score in her LSATs had her heading straight for harvard law - an institute that she was proud to attend, and exactly where she met john davenport. and thus what began an increasingly complicated relationship. the competition, the tension, do i really have to spell it out for you? 

at the height, the pair were both competing for the same coveted spot at a firm in new york city. i mean, you can imagine just how bad they both were. and surprisingly the firm folded - offered them both positions, when they’d only been competing for one. they’re that good.

the on-and-off, the competing, the power struggles between them continued even into the early stages of john dating nancy (men!). of course aubrey wasn’t really happy with that whole situation going on but that’s life ya know.

when john married nancy, aubrey managed to secure herself a promotion at another firm. she’d say it was just the way that timing worked out, but anyone who knew her that well knew that she’d seeked it out, deciding it was much easier if her and john weren’t under the same roof.

and it worked, for the most part. aubrey kept things professional, kept her distance. when john announced he was moving to london, there was a slight slip in the professionalism once again, and that was the last time the two had seen each other in person.

aubrey continued to thrive in her career in new york, eventually meeting the man who would go on to be her fiance. he was a doctor at lennox hill hospital, and for a while things were going really well.

eight years ago, they got the call for her fiance to take up a head of department position at seattle presbyterian, and before she could really have a chance to consider her options, they were packed up and ready to go. aubrey will cite this as her biggest regret to date, having not wanted to move at all.

despite this, they managed to settle themselves in a nice home, and aubrey was proposed to three years after being in seattle. aubrey had settled into a position at a local law firm, and even though it wasn’t quite the life she was used to, she was happy. for the most part.

four years of engagement later, and aubrey was starting to get antsy. she felt like something was wrong, like her fiance wasn’t as fully committed to the relationship as he used to be, as she would have hoped he would be if they were meant to be getting married. she started investigating, and didn’t like what she’d found.

as it turned out, the head of department position hadn’t been the only reason for moving to seattle. her now-fiance had found out that he had a son, and hadn’t thought to include aubrey on this. for years he’d been spending time with this other family, and aubrey felt completely betrayed.

so, aubrey began some secrets of her own. she found herself a penthouse apartment, and over the course of a few months she started moving her belongings there when she could. not a lot, just some clothes here and there, some of her keepsakes. not enough for him to notice that anything was wrong. 

she also secured herself a job as chief operating officer at another firm, removing herself from anything about her that her fiance knew about. and that was it - one night, two weeks ago, aubrey simply did not go to the home that they had shared. she’d left a letter, explaining that she knew about everything and that she wasn’t going to be putting up with it any more. 

aubrey is still currently wearing her engagement ring - she’s worn it for five years, taking it off feels strange. she’ll replace it with someone else eventually, the ring holding no meaning for her any more, but she just feels lost without it. she’s just started her new job too, look out john davenport. she’s back.
