I'm gonna pull a compilation of times that prove that Kyoko is not a bland or dumb character, so I can get people to stop sleeping on how insane her role is within the story.
She's what Tsuna would be if he was a girl.
The role of a loser is the same as the role of the pretty girl, because none of them are considered to be particularly useful. They're stripped of their agency by others, their wishes are put aside and they are taken from weak fools for being kind and liking their common lives. They're literally Ms. and Mr. "I want to be normal, but I'm too much of a freak once people start noticing".
In the first chapter, the president of the kendo club says she'll be the prize of the one who wins the chat. Kyoko gets mad and tries to get out of there, but Hana doesn't let her. The girls around her basically force Kyoko into situations she really doesn't want to be in, just 'cause she's pretty and boys like her. Her genetics are a chain for her as much as Tsuna's blood is a chain to him.
In that same chapter, she admits being judged by her friends because she doesn't find normal guys funny doesn't know when to laugh. He's bad with social customs too!
And the whole reason why she likes Tsuna, even though he showed to be borderline perverted by always being naked and violent as hell? Because he wasn't a normal guy. She blushed when he first showed up to fight in the kendo fight. She didn't like the fact he gave up so easily, but she admires how brave and hardworking he can be later. She's into her freakish behavior. After that, she started acknowledging Tsuna and inviting him to go with the rest, try new things and do his best.
When Reborn shot her with the last will bullet, she almost killed Nana Sawada! Because Kyoko's last will was to correct her after she said Tsuna was a loser! She was given the same treatment Tsuna often got (stripped down to her underwear and with augmented strength and speed).
Her brother is a Vongola guardian. She has been shot with the last bullet will before and shown she had potential. Isn't it logical to conclude that if she was trained, Kyoko could have been another flame user? It's in her blood!!!!
It's like when Haru first appeared and she was ready to throw hands with Tsuna.
My girls have the fighting spirit, but they never got the chance to decide for themselves if they wanted to be trained for it. They never got the real explanation. You see what I mean?
She was there in the 10 years later arc, right with the rest of the guardians. 10 years is a long time for someone to stay ignorant of the truth.
I'm. Just. Saying.

lovers to enemies, the play
osctober day 20: lovers to enemies
landoscar, vaguely high school au
Oscar's about to say some very bad things any moment now.
“Where the fuck did George get this from?”
Okay, so Oscar might have worded that out a little bit differently. But the sentiment is the same, because yeah, where the fuck?
It's telling that no one berates Lando for his comment. Everyone's fatigued from George's latest script read. The team has separated into little cliques across the auditorium, poring over the new script.
Lando untangles himself from the curtains. Logan hasn't repurposed the curtains yet, but he says they're supposed to be the night sky. All Oscar sees is a lump of blue fabrics. “In the last scene, I'm proposing to Oscar, then in this one, I'm— I'm killing him?”
“Maiming him, actually,” Alex drawls, flipping through the script. “Oscar's getting killed by Carlos in scene 14.”
“So I don't even get to kill Oscar!”
Alex shrugs. “Take it with George.”
Lando huffs, returns to his pile of would-be night sky curtains. He looks like he will take it with George. Luckily, George was called by his student council peers to supervise a fight. Or something. Oscar wasn't really listening; he was preoccupied with understanding how his character turned from engaged to half-dead in between scenes.
He stares at the tiny scrawls his sisters left in the margins of his old script— the one George called “too raw to be performed” and completely rewrote over the weekend. Heart eyes for Harry! Don't forget! Based on George's pace, Oscar will have to forget everything and restart.
Even Lando's character's name got changed. Logan says it was first Stephenson, but Lando demanded something different and it turned into a whole fight. Oscar wouldn't know. He hadn't been casted yet. Then it was Harry, up until 30 minutes ago. Now it's Orlando.
At least Oscar kept his name. Oscar, played by Oscar Piastri.
“Do you get it?”
Oscar considers bailing out. He's only doing this as a favor to Logan, who's only doing set design as a favor to Alex. Mr. Stella would be disappointed, but that might be better than whatever George's thinking of.
“Hey, Oscar!”
Oscar looks up. Lando's moved closer to him, dragging his island of curtains with him.
“Been trying to talk to you,” Lando pouts.
Oscar flushes. “Sorry, was just… trying to understand the edits.”
“Yeah, that's what I'm trying to talk to you about.” Lando fully sits in front of Oscar. “Do you get it? The edits?”
He's not entirely sure he got the previous draft. “To be honest?”
“Uh-huh.”
“No, not at all.”
Lando's face brightens up. “Great, because I don't either.”
It's comforting to know Lando, who's much more experienced than him, is just as confused as Oscar.
“George's my mate,” Lando says, “and he's brilliant, but this is— what's the word? Convulsion?"
“Convoluted.”
“That one, yeah. Convoluted. He went to this workshop with Nico Rosberg and Jenson Button— the actors —and suddenly he thinks he's Shakesy P reborn."
Oscar nods, unable to form a proper answer.
Lando doesn't seem to mind. He continues, “Why do you get to keep your name, anyway? Orlando's horrible. And I know George's into this whole lovers-to-enemies trope, but where's the development? Where's the tension?”
Over Lando's head, Alex gives Oscar a thumbs up, mouthing, now's your chance. Oscar ignores him.
“What's the point of being—” Lando pauses, checking the script, “—of being fated enemies if I'm not gonna kill you? Orlando and Oscar don't end up together, but they deserve to at least kill each other, right?”
Oscar tries to process the dozen plot points Lando discussed. He fails. Instead, he says, “I see you're excited to kill me.”
“Totally not the point, Osc.”
“Osc?”
“If I keep saying ‘Oscar’, it sounds like I'm asking for your hand in marriage. So, you're Osc.”
“Let's have dinner first before all this marriage talk. I'm free tomorrow. We can also go over the script again. Sounds good to you, Osc?”
That can be arranged, Oscar thinks deliriously.
Wait, what?
Lando laughs, fond. “You're cute when you blush, Osc. I'll text you the details, okay?”
“Uh, okay.”
Oscar feels like they've skipped a couple steps, a couple scenes— but when Lando Norris is looking at you like that, who would ever say no?
The moment breaks. George storms inside the auditorium and stalks towards the stage. “I have a new idea!”
Everyone groans.

I've been thinking... The Theraprism doesn't seem to have good therapy methods, at least not for Bill.
From what's shown, Bill Cipher refuses to change for any reason, and honestly? You can't exactly blame him. If he does change, he'll be reborn as a being with no power or ability to think properly, he'll lose all his memories of his past (which yes the trauma will be cured, but everything else? All the good times he had? And that he lived for so long? You can't just lose that). He might have the same character, but he'll be completely different.
The thought of him losing himself is a strong one. Him redeeming himself will end up in him completely losing himself. He could redeem himself but still want to be himself and not be reborn.
As someone who suffered through trauma myself, I'd rather have gone through it and keep all my thoughts, power, and memories rather than ever be something that has never gone through it. It's honestly a difficult choice to make to either be reborn with no memories of your past self and not have the same power you used to have, and keep being the same person you are but with severe trauma. To be honest, from this perspective I'd rather just never exist anymore than be reborn.
And from what was seen of the Theraprism? I think their therapy methods might be a bit flawed for Bill Cipher. I think group therapy is not the most suitable for Bill Cipher, along with other things they do. I think it's genuinely not helping him. I haven't read too much into it, but from what I've seen, their methods, specifically for helping Bill Cipher, are flawed.
I realized what actually is wrong just now-
Bill Cipher is a stubborn character, and basing this off of myself, the more you argue with him, the more he's going to think that he's right.
Euclydia, he didn't mean to destroy his dimension. But he ended up doing it. Weirdmageddon, he was a king of a dying dimension, he didn't want to do what he did and kill an entire dimension again, so he ended up starting Weirdmageddon as there was no other way. In his perspective, he was doing only what was right, he WANTED to be a good person of a sort, though eventually he ended up being one of the worst people out there.
Also, I noticed, having an overly-happy front or expression can be a coping mechanism. Ignoring obvious signs, and laughing them off, is also a coping mechanism. Acting "insane" because that's how people perceive you so you act the way others think you are? ALSO A COPING MECHANISM. A lot of what Bill does are coping mechanisms, how do I know? I HAVE THEM MYSELF.
I also propose something, Bill Cipher has a lot of autistic-coded elements to him!
Tumblr media
I am an autistic person myself, for context, and it may be just projecting, but seriously.
A long time ago I used to be obsessed with Bill Cipher. I was clueless about the fact I may be autistic (which explained a lot of things when I figured it out). I related to this character a lot, why? My phrases were "We're both outcasted from society", "We're both considered weird", and "We're both insane". And knowing what I know now, displaying yourself to be even MORE weird and MORE "insane" than you are is a form of autistic masking. (I'm not saying Bill Cipher is autistic, but from what I see is that he is very coded so.)
In the Book of Bill, in the morals section, he said to "think of something considered 'evil', now think of 3 reasons why they're actually good, you'll be rationalizing like me in no time!" (Paraphrasing but basically this.) My thought is that he just genuinely does not see why some things are considered 'evil'. There are genuinely good sides to most atrocious things. Murder? Ah, population control, people are disgusting anyway, destroying someone who wronged you (if you want to murder someone who is your enemy). Obviously, I don't think murder is "good", but Bill Cipher thinks like this. He genuinely does not understand why something "evil" is "evil" which of course not understanding the reasons for "bad" and "good" and why they exist can make you seem like you have a fucked up morality (which I myself struggle with too).
He has not been able to grow up in a society, and the ability to understand why morals are necessary, which can really fuck you up in a way.
He was trying to be good, good for his own needs and wants, and that was his morality. He wanted to help his own dying dimension and be a good person for his own dimension he was king of. A good king does whatever he can for his people, and that's what Bill tried to do. He wasn't trying to be a bad person, hell, if he was, he would've just ditched his dimension and not try to help at all. So in this context, he was just trying to be A GOOD PERSON.
Yes, he manipulated Ford, yes he killed many people on purpose, yes he caused nightmares for no reason. That is wrong, but again, Bill doesn't see why morality is necessary. He manipulated Ford to help his OWN DYING DIMENSION. He killed people because HE SAW PEOPLE AS DISGUSTING. He caused nightmares because HE WANTED TO SCREW WITH PEOPLE WHO WRONGED HIM. Bill Cipher is NARCISSISTIC, but in his narcissism he is selfless. He wanted to save his OWN dying dimension, but he wanted to save the dimension in itself too. There are so many points of this it's honestly insane.
So many people misunderstood him and his intentions though, and so everything that happened was seen as him trying to be a bad person.
He needs different shiz. He needs a different type of therapy to get better. His character is not suited for him to be reincarnated as something else. He is never going to get better like this. Never? Try impossible. He isn't going to "'break' and finally try and become a better person for his own sake", he's going to "'break' and give up on everything".

Thank you for sending me an ask for the author ask game! Now right back at you: F. canon fics or au?, V. post the last sentence you wrote, and X. give a summary of your current project! Thank you :)
you're welcome!! excited to see u in my inbox too :D ❤❤
F. canon fics or au?
yes! 😂
my preferences for canon vs AU largely depend on how much i feel a character is tied to their setting. for example, i don't really read anything that's non-mafia for kp. for me personally, the cores of the kp characters are so heavily influenced by trauma induced by the mafia specifically that i struggle to connect to versions of them that don't have that aspect. i know it's done, they're just not stories for me. i do pretty alright with AUs that are still mafia but with other elements (like magic) thrown into them to alter the setting, and i more-or-less consider canon-divergent AUs to still fall under the 'canon universe' umbrella, but i tend to be more drawn to pre-/post-canon or canon fics for kp because of the specific setting. the magnus archives would be another example of a fandom where i'm drawn to the impact of the setting on the characters specifically. i like all the characters a lot, but i frankly would not give a fuck about any of their stories outside of the horror context grinding them into dust.
on the flip side, i tend to esp love AU for anything where the setting is just set dressing to the character drama. this tends to be the case for a lot of stories with ensemble casts for me-- for example, a lot of animes, esp sport ones. i read a lot of AU for stuff like yuri!!! on ice and haikyuu!! because its a lot of fun to think of how to transfer those friendship dynamics to other settings, or put them all through hell in a different genre specifically because canon is slice-of-life. but also several of my costume cdramas are fun to AU because a lot of their drama is tied up in specific character dynamics, almost moreso than their specific settings. a story like bad buddy does AU really well too, because their story is in their romeo and juliet dynamic, not their setting.
that was a very long and rambly answer oops 😂 basically it boils down to what questions i have for a character and how necessary i feel canon is to exploring/answering them.
V. post the last sentence you wrote.
[stares at WIPs] which one of you was i last working on again...
...also some of these look very alarming without context lol, i'm just gonna cheat and give you a sneak peek for one of them 😂:
Chay's googling the pet store's hours as though they don't have its schedule well memorized by now. "I'm pretty sure us just owning a fish counts as animal abuse by now. How bad's our karma after our latest Mr. Gold, you think?" "Oh, we're definitely getting reborn as fish in our next life," Kim says over the rattle of the glass rocks he's cleaning. Chay bumps Kim's hip with his, lips screwed up in a pucker as he tries not to look amused. "Should we make merit at a temple before we go to the store, just incase?" Kim puts his hands together and bows his head reverently. "May we earn just enough that we don't wind up in a home like ours." Chay breaks, giggling loudly, and that's all the merit Kim ever needs in this life. "We could also stop risking our next life and just come clean to P'Khun." "Oh fuck no, I'm taking my chances with karma. At least it's known to be forgiving."
X. give a summary of your current project!
[points to snippet above] it's called "The Lives of Mr. Gold" !! it's summary is: Kim and Chay raise one fish.
aka Khun decides they should all bond over being fish fathers and buys Kim and Chay a goldfish to raise. Kim and Chay swear they're doing a great job of it.

When I was at that stage after Acowar and ACOFAS and after that I abandoned fandom and everything in between. Only after Acosf was close to launching did I have a greater connection with the fandom. But the point is that I was so sure that Vassa and Jurian were and are Endgame that I had that impact that in my circle of acquaintances on social media they didn't think so and that I saw that there was a real world divided between Elriel and Elucien. But Sarah's couple formula never distances or changes, because she does what she likes.
But I was always so sure of Vassa and Jurian that I thought everyone saw it but it makes sense to me because they both want the same thing, they truly care about humans and not because they love each other.
And that's why I never saw any sense in Lucien and Vassa because they don't have the same goals and don't care about Humans in the same way. It's not that Lucien doesn't care about humans, he understands more that they are not the people and it would be something done more because he loves Vassa than he considers it his world.
And also that he is with them because he is a little excluded from the ferric world, but I'm sure he would return quickly if he could to where he will always consider his home.
And also because I don't like romance so much that out of love the other character ends up caring about people who don't even like him.
I think it got confusing but that's it.
I agree that Vassa and Jurian seem clearly setup as endgame to me.
In ACOWAR, we have Jurian say:
"Vassa. She saw through me - or thought she did - from the start. Warned them against this. Told them that if I was reborn, it was a bad sign."
Right away, we've got a dramatic start for two characters (an SJM classic for endgame pairings).
At the end of ACOWAR we have Vassa offer Jurian a place within her court (very Aelin / Rowan vibes, don't you think?).
In ACOFAS, we have SJM tell us:
With no queen ever having been appointed to the slice of territory at the base of Prythian, only a council of wealthy lords and merchants, Jurian had somehow stepped in to lead. / "He's keeping everything running. I think he'd have been crowned king by now if it wasn't for Vassa." / "I hadn't seen them interact, could only imagine what the two of them would be like in the same room together. Both trying to lead the humans who occupied the sliver of land at the southernmost end of Prythian. Left ungoverned for so long. Too long." / "Vassa and Jurian are two sides of the same coin. Mercifully, their vision for the future of the human territories is mostly aligned. But the methods on how to attain that."
Then in SF, we have a scene where Cassian notes Lucien seems to often break up arguments between Vassa and Jurian and Lucien later telling us they're at each others throats as they like to be all the while Lucien himself is still staring at Elain with longing.
I have no clue how someone can read all that and not think there's a very real chance of Jassa becoming a thing while insisting that in the last year of living together, Lucien has developed feelings for Vassa.
Lucien, a fae, who is set up to be a fae High Lord, is staring at ELAIN, his fae mate with longing. What feelings do they think he has for Vassa?
And what feelings does Vassa seem to have for Lucien? Lucien leaves the human lands to travel to the fae courts of Spring and Night and Vassa doesn't bother involving herself with anything related to the fae.
I have no problem with a fae and human getting together (I fell for the whole Feyre / Tamlin setup in book 1) but when the author wrote it so in the past year the human made no appearance in the fae lands and only mentions her desire to lead the humans alongside Jurian.............where is anyone getting the idea that she's going to be by Lucien's side while he leads Day Court someday? That she cares at all about the fae's suffering as a result of and their rebuilding after the war? So Lucien can spend eternity (not to mention the whole life-span dilemma) watching her bicker with Jurian?
You know what SJM had Lucien's mate do in SF? Helped the people of Velaris because she is now trying to be part of the world of the fae. Offered to search for the Trove for the safety of Prythian. Wrote of her willingness to head to the Hewn City despite the cruelty bothering her because she's trying to be part of the court.
SF might not have had as much of Elain as some expected but what she did have was Elain proving that she is willing to go out of her way for the fae people even though she was the most attached to her humanity.
Elain is perfectly set up to do more for the FAE in her book, with Lucien by her side.
Like you said, Jurian and Vassa (not Lucien) share a vision for the humans, of which they (not Lucien) both are. THEY are constantly bickering with one another while Lucien literally seems to be over the two of them arguing since he's been there done that with Tamlin and Feyre.
They'll say because Lucien and Vassa had a nickname given to them, they're endgame but Feyre gave Rhys and Lucien a nickname. They'll say that because Lucien blushed at Vassa (not confirmed when he could have been blushing because she embarrassed him in front of his mate) while ignoring Az blushed for Nesta.
It's a funny thing, this fandom. SJM gives us puzzle pieces that make a beautiful picture when put together yet some try to take a few of those pieces and shove them into an entirely different puzzle box, resulting in an image that will never fully come together no matter how much some wish it would.

HI HELLO, I FELT BAD CONTINUING THE CONVO IN THE POST BUT OOOOOHHOO YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE FEELING UNWELL ABOUT TSUNA HOPE. I AM INSANE ABOUT HIM.
FIRST OF ALL, I checked the link you sent and oh my god SAME "The Truth Revealed" is an INSANE CHAPTER TO ME. Tbh Future arc is one of my favorite arcs in KHR all together. I don't think I ever recovered from Tsuna waking up in a fucking coffin. Like I think that irreversibly altered my brain chemistry I havent been the same. My brains been spinning since i saw that. To find out that TYL Tsuna planned it in the Truth Revealed??? Like WHO is TYL TSUNA. WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM. Like you pointed out that Lal yelled out at Tsuna wasnt like that, but to find out he was?? oh my GOD. Like it makes me wonder how much stress TYL Tsuna was under or how he came to the point that he felt like this was the only solution they could pull off. I think there's an addition that Irie did say that Byakuran would've found a way to bring the younger gang to the future anyway must have absolutely added to TYL Tsuna's stress and desire to get his younger self ready before Byakuran decided it was time before he was. Like I need to know IS HE HAPPY LIKE YOU SAID. I HOPE THIS MAN FINDS PEACE GOD KNOWS HE DESERVES IT. This is more of a headcanon than any solidified proof, just a GUT feeling. But I have to feel as if TYL Tsuna's actions being so... like that had to do with TYL Reborn's death. We know that they're close and Rainbow arc shows us that Tsuna would lift the entire world on his back if it saved Reborn. I can't help but theorize the mental state TYL Tsuna was in, after losing Reborn. Seeing how..hotheaded Tsuna can get about Reborn in Rainbow Arc and how he willingly goes to the Inheritance Ceremony for Yamamoto.. I can see him conjuring a plan like this to fuck the shit out of Byakuran post Reborn death, or even just for the possibility of getting Reborn back. But this is just a headcanon again. Either way?? Im FOAMING at the mouth with you.
As for the rest of our discussion, first of all I lost my shit when you sent the manga panel of Reborn looking shocked but holy shit i didnt connect those dots that Reborn was ?? shocked?? that Tsuna was going along with it. And that its coming from a place of anger and vengeance from Tsuna, which isn't usual for him but fuck they attacked his family. As you mentioned, they crossed that firm line drawn in the sand and Tsuna was going for their throat this time bc how dare they? When, in Tsuna's eyes, Yamamoto was done NOTHING wrong to his attacker. As for Tsuna becoming Vongola Decimo and how he would've been shackled, this is actually something we discussed in our server as well. The conclusion I ended up coming with is that in the end it didn't matter to Tsuna. He was seeing red. He was furious. He was willing to sacrifice everything, even his own freedom from the Mafia to avenge Yamamoto. It's either that he was so blinded by rage that he didn't consider the consequences of his actions, or even worse he was willing to take up the mantle of Vongola Decimo if it meant catching the person who did this to Yamamoto. For Yamamoto's sake, he would be Vongola Decimo. AND THAT IDEA??? OOOHHHH. UGHHHH. THERES SO MUCH TO TSUNAS CHARACTER AND IT DRIVES ME MAD BC HE SEEMS SO SIMPLE AT FIRST LOOK. AND IM??? IM AAAAH YKNOW??
[follow up to this post]
the future arc isn't personally my favorite, but i totally get the people for whom it is. the writing for it is really solid and really steps up from what we had so far, and i DO love so much that first part of the arc up to the end of the merone base raid.
you know, at times like this i wish i'd remember what my reaction was to it the first time i read it too, but my memory is shit lol. but i don't need to to agree it was so iconic and insane of amano to make tsuna appear in the future in a coffin. like not only it's the first thing we learn about the future, but also the first thing we learn about his future. that ten years later he's dead. absolute fucking power move from amano, like hello??
but also, while we're on the subject... this literally just came to me so idk if i'm going to be articulate about this lol, but i think there's something to be said about how the first thing we learn about tyl tsuna is that he's dead. and then he stays dead throughout the arc, mentioned and talked about, judged and defended, praised and blamed, but it all happens through other people. everything we learn about him, every choice (or lack thereof) and decision attributed to him, every glimpse into his personality and what kind of man he was, we learn all of it it through someone else's words. through someone else's eyes, and tho we're given no reason to doubt they're saying the truth, they can only be biased as they say it. like, amano could have made him appear through flashbacks, but she didn't. she gave him no physical appearance, no face, no voice. and then when she does do that (tho even then she still gives him no face), he only talks about his present self. has only words for him. and idk what is there to say about all that, but i know it's relevant to the themes of the future arc.
I think there's an addition that Irie did say that Byakuran would've found a way to bring the younger gang to the future anyway must have absolutely added to TYL Tsuna's stress and desire to get his younger self ready before Byakuran decided it was time before he was.
you're right! i tend to overlook that bit of information, but it is canon that either way, the present 10th gen would have found themselves in the future. so for tsuna to decide he'll be the one to make it happen and have control over it instead of byakuran, was of course the right choice to make. the safest one, both for them and their present selves. as well as the kindest one, because of course, tsuna didn't just bring them to the future to leave them to die in it, the way byakuran would have done. he came up with a plan to make sure they were ready to face the future like you said, and would be strong enough to see it through. and the plan was still harsh and painful and arguably cruel on them, but it still was kindness from tsuna at the same time. consideration for the situation he had no choice but to get them involved in. it was him taking responsibility for it and sparing them the worse of it as much as he could and as much as realistically possible. and maybe it made little difference, but it's still more than byakuran would have allowed them for sure, and it did play a non-negligible part in them not only surviving the future, but coming out on top of it.
you know... for some reason i've always thought tsuna was level-headed when he agreed to go along with the plan. like of course his hands were being forced as he was backed against a corner, facing a hopeless and desperate situation, but in my head he still had himself together somehow. sat and considered the pros and cons of the plan with a cool head, before deciding it was worth the gamble.
but like. knowing tsuna, it's much more likely he hadn't, you're right. that he was standing on the brink, and maybe had already fallen from it. i mean, yamamoto's dad got killed, his parents were unaccounted for, vongola's hq fell and vongola was hunted, namimori was invaded and every people there connected to him hunted too, forcing kyoko and haru to be on the run, with lambo and i-pin after them to keep them safe when they were just fifteen but still forced to take part in a literal war. tsuna had already lost so much by that point, while still being at risk of losing much more. and at the same time, he had already lost the worst thing he could lose, because of course, there's also reborn. reborn who also died, who also got killed when he's the one person who's always been by his side, who's always been his rock and anchor, who's always known how to give him strength again when his own failed him. and MY gut feeling headcanon is that reborn died not too long before tsuna put the plan in motion. maybe even died only just a couple of days before that, and that was the last straw, the deciding factor that made tsuna go along with the plan.
so like. maybe tsuna was heartbroken and crestfallen when he made that decision. maybe it was an entirely emotional one, one he made out of spite and vindictive feelings for byakuran like you said. out of fear he'll end up with nothing more left to lose, and out of his guilt for letting things come to that point and not being in a position--not having the power to make things right again. a decision he made out of his grief and the desperate hope he could get back everything he lost. the hope he could get reborn back. and okay, consider this, but independently of whether it was the right thing to do or of the chances of the plan to be successful, maybe he simply agreed to it too out of the certainty it's what present tsuna would have done too. that it's what he'd have wanted too, that he would have taken any chance that might bring reborn back to him. because it's reborn. oh i'm soo normal about this and their bond.
For Yamamoto's sake, he would be Vongola Decimo.
YOU CANT JUST SAY THAT TO ME LIKE I HAVENT THE SOFTEST SPOT FOR YAMS AND TSUNA. oh my god. oh my god??? for yamamoto's sake... for yamamoto. and i mean, i know tsuna would have done the exact same thing for any of his other guardians, but that amano chose to go along with yams instead of any other guardian... like again, i do very much believe tsuna would have reacted the same way were it anyone else, but at the same time i really do very much believe the fact it was yamamoto played a part in his anger and resolve to avenge him. i really can't explain it, but like. it's yamamoto, you know?
NO I KNOW!!!! tsuna is... he's so easy to overlook and deem unworthy of a second glance, but if you DO look back at him, and then really look at him, you can't stop and can't look away. and the longer you look, the more there is to look at. which is even more insane because at his core tsuna still is truly, really just some guy. he's just a complex character in very simple ways i guess??
anyway yeah, i need to LIE DOWN now, thanks.

Ideas spinning in my head and they're all about Pearl
So it's implied by Pix and seemingly confirmed when she receives the memories that Pearl is the mortal incarnation of the apotheosizied Farming Queen Pearl, Santa Perla
Saint Pearl is worshipped in farming aspects as well as as the moon goddess (I headcannon that tying into her sunflower symbology in depicting the moon and its phases as a sunflower tracking the sun across the sky) and possibly as a combat goddess considering how much she enjoys it.
Pearl was unaffected by the continuous nights without sleep as the moon encroached in S8 (it would be strange for the simulation to account for that but it did happen) and in last life, as her mental state slipped, she seemed to bring death wherever she went, possibly reflecting a synchronicity in domains meaning that Santa Perla is viewed as a reaper of life, with a particular fondness for the slain as they make excellent sparring partners.
She also referred to her dogs as 'dogs of war' and with the combination of moon and wolf imagery and battle madness paints the picture of Pearl being very few steps from becoming a werewolf
Technically, as often the further back you go the transformation had mostly to do with an animal sacrificed or bonded to (at the earliest, both) she would be a hybeena shifter durring her time feral in the Amphibian wilderness
Always fun to have a bit of Pearl thought. :P
As Hermit!Pearl being the reincarnation of E1!Pearl - or at least of her mortal self - & all that entails is canon now, that's absolutely a thing in the AU. This - barring dimensional time shenanigans, puts Grian & Pearl's current ages in the sub-1,000 years category.
Them being younger than Andrias won't change things, though.
So if our Pearl is the reborn form of Santa Perla/Saint Pearl - the farming/moon/combat goddess (I like your headcanons, here), does that mean she gets bad vibes whenever she looks at Amphibia's moon? Nothing she can quite place due to limited access to divine power, but as she has her past life memories she might recognize it as divine intuition.
Also, though the idea of Pearl as a reaper goddess - or the mortal incarnation of one - has its whole own set of implications, it draws to mind the Amphibia AU where Anne's literally the Grim Reaper. More than one character mistaken for an "angel of death", at least.
But the point that got my attention the most was Werewolf!Pearl.
Maybe it wasn't a thing before - Grian would've known - but cut off from any divine spark & left to go feral for literal months... Were-hybeena!Pearl isn't too outside the realm of possibility, given player tendency to adapt to new surroudings ("skin changes").
It'd make for an interesting episode, i'd think. Whether it remains after Pearl's brought to her senses is another question entirely.

RWBY V9 Soundtrack First Listen Thoughts
I'm gonna rank them later after I've let them digest a little (I have a first impression ranking, but still). So for now, after listening to all the new vocal tracks, here's my thoughts:
Inside: Not my favorite opening theme, but still superb! It fits the themes of the volume and Ruby's character arc perfectly. You can also tell jus thow amazing Casey's vocals have become. It's been a decade since This WIll Be The Day and she has gone from great to spectacular. And as this soundtrack proves, she is more than capable of handling the music with her dad stepping down. The song for me doesn't beat Let's Just Live, Rising, or Trust Love, but I think I can safely place it in fourth for opening themes.
Checkmate: I was hyped for this the moment I heard it in Chapter 3, and it did NOT let me down! It gives me serious Never Miss a Beat from Volume 3 feels! Gosh, that jazz, love it~! It is such a badass song that really hyped you up for the volume's first major fight scene. Love it~!
Chatterbox: Solid badass song! Not much to say really. Just a really solid song. Maybe I'll have more to say when I'm able to go over the lyrics, but still.
Worthy: I didn't care for the first half of it. It wasn't bad by any means, but it was annoying trying to make out the lyrics with Casey's a cappella singing for a while. That's not on her, it's just not my favorite type of music to listen to, so it's on me. But once we hit the second half? Loved it! It's such a beautiful song, and I'm sure it made the Bumblebee shippers happy after all the years they've waited for the big moment XD
Trapdoor: One of my biggest complaints about the RWBY soundtracks... in fact probably my ONLY one, is the lack of Ruby-centric songs. In the ten years of the show, we've gotten two, Red Like Poses Part 2 (Part 1 is more about Team RWBY than Ruby herself) and Until the End. I guess Casey realized it and decided to fix it with several of them, including this one! It perfectly describes how Ruby feels in the volume. Lost, useless, a failure who just gets others hurt, like she's being left behind by everyone and having her many issues pushed back for everyone else's sake. Trapdoor is a perfect title, because that's what it feels like for her until the door opens and she snaps. It nailed everything and I loved it~!
Quiet: This was the song I wasn't sure what to expect, since we got barely even a few seconds of it in the volume. But as songs like Indomitable (aka my favorite RWBY song) have proven, that normally means a very pleasant surprise when the full comes out, and that was no different here! I think, considering the clock noises and talk about being alone/waiting, this might be a Jaune song? Not too sure about that. But gosh does it convey the feeling of being alone and not realizing what you had until it's gone perfectly. If it is about Jaune then GOD it makes me feel even worst for him than I did in the volume. Ren and Nora better give him all the hugs when they're reunited. So yes, a pleasant surprise for sure~!
Guide My Way: I HAVE WAITED FOR THIS FOR SO MANY YEARS! The culmination of Ruby's character arc. This is very much a continuation of Red Like Roses Parts 1 and 2. In part 1, it was more about the team than Ruby herself. Part 2 was about Ruby's grief and feelings about her mother and her mother's response, a song that is even more painful now than it was then. But here? After all the pain? All the loss? After her identity crisis? Ruby has been reborn. She will be so much more than just trying to love by her mother's idealized example. More than the naive hero she was. More than the fairy tales that she read as a child. She will be her. The song captures all of that, the downfall and rebirth, perfectly. I need a bit of time before deciding where it ranks among all the RWBY songs, but it is 100% my favorite Volume 9 track!
The Edge: I fell in love with this song the moment I heard it. So much so that it beat Friend, which had taken the crown from Cold when it came out not that long ago, as my favorite RWBY ending theme. It does what any good ending should do, sum up the themes of the volume. Everyone was in some kind of bad place at that start. Ruby with her Imposter Syndrome and the aftermath of her plan falling apart, Blake and Yang struggling with their feelings, Weiss losing her home, and Jaune's guilt and solitude screwing him up mentally. But at the end? Aside from Weiss, everyone rediscovered themselves and took the next steps. Blake and Yang with their relationship, Jaune accepting the guilt, and Ruby learning to be herself. This is their rebirth and after everything, this song was just the cherry on top.
Overall? OMG guys, this volume was fantastic! If/when it comes out, go listen to it! Go purchase it! Show Casey, Martin, and CRWBY your support because they 100% earned it! The wait was relatively short compared to the past few, but that wait was still absolutely worth it with every track being a banger! 10/10!

Day#16
Today's prompt was "Favourite Newt's costume".
Tumblr media
This one was easy. The first movie blue coat and mustard waistcoast, with the tweed costume (aww, tweed).
For many reasons. The waistcoast is very "earthy" and fits well Newt's personality (and Hufflepuff). The overcoat is of course blue, and a good metaphor for Scamander. Also blue is for many the colour for autism, and even if I'm not a lot in it, that could be another cue to put Newt on the spectrum (before all the ITW).
Tumblr media
But I also see a peacock symbolism with this association of colours (+ the iridescent eyes, like the bird's feathers). And well... I really could write something long about it.
I know the first thing we think about (at least in France) when we think about peacock is pride. Which isn't really a Newt's trait. Well, it is, a little bit, if we consider overconfidence which he has (and has not, regarding to people), regarding to his creatures (the playful thing in the shed with the swooping evil, how he interacts with "dangereous beasts", the "I'll catch you thing", etc). This is not a bad thing and one of the side of character, even if it's not the biggest part.
An other important thing regarding to peacocks is immortality, in Middle Age this was the believe and they ate peacocks for that reason. This one is very interesting, because of all the alchemy things that gravitate around Newt (the runes, Newton, Artemis, ...), and the fact that we know he'll have a long life.
Peacock's feathers are associated to "wind of change" too. And that is something that I cleary relate to Newt. He created his own field of study, he uses unconventional magic, and he'll change many things in the WW (American laws about Thunderbirds protection, then all magical beasts, the breeding ban - for the law about the werewolf registry, I have some other thinking that would take me too long to explain). His role during WWII/GWW is probably also another very unconventional thing (at least, that's how I imagine him, and why he's implicated in everything).
But the reborn symbolism can also be linked with Newt's evolution during the first movie, how he opens to people, and meets significant ones who'll share his life until the end. (some even associate peacock with phenix... well...)
In China, the peacock is associated with peace and prosperity. Well, peace is just everything that he tries to do, at least in the "avoiding conflict" part (but he also fought during WWI).
To finish with this part, and something I didn't know until lately is that peacock is associated with water. Some beliefs say that if you want some water, a source, you need to have a peacock (to make things simple). The peacock's cry would mean "the rain is comming" (which, considering all the water symbolism that is in the first film, is very interesting).
Tumblr media
I also love how this costume, as is the case, cries how much it lived. I'm one to almost always wear the same clothes, to buy them again when they're completely ruined (and can't be patched anymore). It talks about his time in the field, it talks about his way of life (maybe).
Tumblr media
Just saying ...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well, I planned a 2 min post and wrote for almost an hour. Oupsi.

Project Sekai AUs
I don't think this is gonna be a masterpost, but I wanted to give very quick (and kinda sorta pretty rough) summaries of all my Project Sekai AUs. If there's any you'd like to know more about, you can send me an ask, my inbox is open <3
Stand-In AU:
After all the units have formed and met in person, they begin to collaborate together. This has led to permanent side groups, such as FANTASISTA Squad, and to each group becoming more well known for who they collaborate with.
What started off as a friend assisting a friend when their group was down a member became a widely known method to expand their knowledge and abilities.
NPC AU:
An alternate universe where the original units (Leo/need, MORE MORE JUMP!, Vivid BAD SQUAD, Wonderlands x Showtime, and Nightcord @ 25:00) were never formed due to various circumstances, five new units take their place. Consisting of characters who were originally NPCs, each unit has similar, yet different, problems to their original counterparts. From a band doing their best to come together again, to a family torn apart from lies and broken promises.
STANDOUT, Blossoming ✿ ‪ Melodies, FR33LY 2M0RR0W, Phoenix Reincarnation, and the Night • Watchers are the new units.
Only 4 of these units grow and change, learning from their mistakes and using it to push their individual messages and dreams forwards, while the remaining one remains stuck in their ways, truly believing they are in the right.
Story of Evil/Reincarnated AU:
A villainous Prince and his loyal sister are reborn into modern times. Neither remembers their past at first, but memories slowly come back to them in their sleep. Often they're passed as dreams, some pleasant, and some more accurately being nightmares.
Neither knows what to do with this newfound information, but feel some reassurance that the sibling they cared for deeply is still with them, and that their loyalty for one another has yet to truly be broken.
Fantasy/Sci-fi AU:
An alchemist, half siren, and half-pixie half-elf stumble across an odd young man. He glows as bright as the sun and as dim as a dying flame. It takes a while for them to catch him, and much longer to find a way to communicate once they learn he is not from their world.
Born from the stars, Tsukasa has a fond love for the planet Earth, especially for the shows put on by humans.
There's more to this story, from a Princess and a Prince plotting to stop their wedding, to an Angel losing her wings for aiding a trapped siren.
Miraculous AU:
Kwamis have been around since the dawn of time, each with a gift/power to lend to those who wield their Miraculous, a magical jewel. As time goes on different people have wielded various Miraculous, from well known heroes to the most awful of villains.
With the Miraculous becoming more well known as the years go by, magic has begun to spread.
Once again, the Miraculous are being wielded by young heroes, each one chosen carefully and to the current Guardian's best knowledge.
Beauty and the Beast x Swan Lake aka The Cursed Kingdom AU:
Sekai is a very large kingdom with several smaller ones within. One of these kingdoms is rumored to be cursed and has been closed off. Any being who enters never leaves.
How could they? Dragons watch over the people and their Prince is as cold as ice.
When an infamous alchemist never returns from his travels, his friend, a young Knight, goes in search of him, until he, too, doesn't return.
His sick younger sister is the one who finds him after being worried for days and deciding to go searching for him. And that's when she realizes the cold Prince is the boy and her brother considered to be their younger brother.
Making a contract with him, she takes her brother's place (and later meets up with the alchemist who was also a prisoner) and refuses to look at her older brother as he taken away from the palace.
The Knight is returned to his home but immediately gathers three Knights to help him. One a fellow friend of the alchemist, one a dear friend of his sister (and perhaps more), and the last one was once close with the Prince.
Their goal is ultimately to get the eldest Knight's sister and the alchemist back and to safety, but the last Knight also wishes to see if he can get through to the cursed Prince.
The Secret World of Minori:
Based off the Secret World of Arrietty, Minori, Haruka, Airi and Shizuku are borrowers doing their best to get by.
Living near a cottage, the four tend to explore the vast garden and pond it has.
The four have their preferred places to explore and do their best to avoid the two girls who reside in the cottage.
Tsukasa:
Based off the story of Anastasia, Tsukasa is a Prince who lost his home, family and memories in a fire while he was young. Due to the loss of his memories, he has no idea who he is or where he is from.
Renamed Torpe, he lives in a quaint village orphanage. As he got older, he would go out for work. Torpe usually works with Emu Otori and Nene Kusanagi, two girls who do live performances in the village center. He will often play the piano whilst they dance and sing.
One day a man name Rui convinces Torpe, Nene, and Emu to help him with his latest con: Convince Princess Saki and Prince Toya that Torpe is the long lost Prince, and the two royals eldest brother, Tsukasa.

Warlock: The Armageddon (1993)
Tumblr media
Like its predecessor, I can’t quite call Warlock II: The Armageddon a good movie. Plot points go nowhere, the special effects are unconvincing - even when we consider the film’s budget - and the performances are bad. Once again, I still find myself enthusiastic about the film despite its flaws. The dark sense of humor and occasional cleverness make it a film you alternatively make fun of and enjoy legitimately but either way, you remain entertained.
Since ancient times, Druids have stopped the birth of Satan’s son - an event that happens every 600 or so years - with six magical rune stones. In the present day, the order of druids has all but vanished, enabling the Warlock (Julian Sands) to be reborn. He has six days to gather the scattered stones and use them to bring his father to Earth and begin the end of days. Only Kenny Travis (Chris Young), Samantha Ellison (Paula Marshall) and their estranged fathers (Steve Kahan and Bruce Glover) - the last remaining druids - can stop him.
As you might’ve gathered, this film is a sequel to Warlock in name only. In fact, Julian Sands’ character is called a Warlock, but he isn’t one. He’s the Anti-Christ and I’d attribute his supernatural abilities to being from Hell, not from studying magic. It’s not the only bit of dodgy writing. I mean, why would druids be the ones keeping Beelzebub Jr. at bay? Shouldn’t that job be for a secretive order of monks or priests or something? Finally, it’s a bit comical that the Warlock is given six days to gather the stones and bring about his father’s ascension. Why the deadline? I know within the film it’s because he's born during a lunar eclipse and has to complete the ritual before the incoming solar eclipse, but from an audience’s perspective, this makes stopping him seem really easy. Can you imagine if all of the magic rocks weren’t located in the United States, for example? Good luck orienting yourself to the modern day, obtaining a passport and making your way to every continent within less than a week, buddy!
Warlock II is filled with missed opportunities. We’re repeatedly told that Kenny and Samantha's neighbors distrust the druids and think they're Satanists. They’re looking for ANY excuse to burn them at the stake and not helping is her father, who became a priest and has been holding a grudge towards Steve Kahan’s character for… reasons? I guess it’s because he didn’t believe the whole druid thing was legit after his wife died? Anyway, in a scene towards the end, the Warlock has crucified a woman upside down - the ultimate sign of evil. Everyone is gathered around her in disbelief but once Kenny and his dad show up… they just disperse, never to be seen again.
You’re wondering why - since I’ve done nothing but criticize this picture - I can still manage to sort of recommend it. Simply put, because I enjoyed the first one, this is more of the same in many ways. Born spontaneously from a woman who had no idea her jewelry was actually one of the rune stones, the Warlock proceeds to peel off a chunk of her stomach and use it as a map. To fulfill his quest, he uses his vaguely established powers to trick people into giving him what he wants in scenes reminiscent of the best the Wishmaster and Leprechaun films have to offer. It’s sick and twisted but the film isn’t trying to be classy. It is exactly what it wants to be. Julian Sands is clearly having a great time with his role and you are too.
Maybe Warlock: The Armageddon is a guilty pleasure. Maybe it's a film that’s “so bad it’s good” but does enough things well to make you occasionally consider whether it’s just merely flawed. The important thing is: there’s fun to be had if you choose to sit down with this film by Anthony Hickox. Everyone besides Julian Sands may be as convincing as the pipe that impales Kenny during the film’s big climax and the story might be as sloppy as the Warlock’s birth but if you enjoyed the first film, those aren’t bugs; they’ll be features. Best be taking care of yourself !!!!!!!!!
Also I like the idea of it keeping the story in France (because it's a romantic setting and more convienent since that's the original) BUT if we changed the country, consider maybe a Scandinavian country and/or Germany? I feel like keeping it European makes sense, I just particularly like Scandinavian countries and Germany, and mainly they feel slightly more relevant to certain characters. France is probably the easiest though! We could even set it in France and still refer to other countries- Tim and Bertie being more British, Lyf being Scandinavian in some way, Marius being German, etc.
And yes exactly!!!! Everything about the trans parallels/metaphors/experiences just!!!!! So good!!!!!! Carmilla affectionately using ridiculous nicknames like that until he chooses a name.... I love it!!!!!!! She still probably uses those sometimes especially when she's teasing him. (<- also to help drill it into him to never be ashamed of what he is or his differences from anybody. That scene when Belle asks her papa if he thinks she's odd, instead of "What? My daughter? Odd?" (which was still an adorable scene) Carmilla would be more like "Of course you are, but anyone saying that's a bad thing to be is an idiot. All the best people are strange. Do you need me to main or murder anybody for you sweetie? It wasn't that Marius fool was it? I have just the right spot to bury him if he's too much trouble for you.")
...I had someone compare my mom to Carmilla in similar context and I fully see what I am doing now............................
GAH EVERYTHING ABOUT CARMILLA AND BRIAN'S BEGININING........ Brian's first life ending in tragedy and blood- fear and betrayal- because he knew all those people they were close- and though the specifics escape him and feelings stuck- only to be practically reborn and rebooted and being met immediately with love and warmth and excitement and kindness from someone who's basically a stranger and and and febwhbi vfdkjb hfeuj vipefaj sb,jfg ........... the way Carmilla sees Brian!!! The way she cares about him I'm!!! Going insane!!!!! The mother and son relationship is gonna send me into cardiac arrest or something I swear ..........
(Also this begs the question to me that if Victor Frankenstein was a Victoria Frankenstein, would she have abandoned her creation? Or willingly made him at all? Just thinking that bc of the "Frankenstein being an allegory for the horrors of childbirth" and stuff...... I never got deep into Frankenstein deep dives or discourse tho I'm just ramblin'..........Mother and son duo.... sobbing....................)
All that with the tree yes!!!!!! I love that so much......... and the boys holding Lyf safely and protectively for the night to make sure they're okay and don't do anything stupid...................!!!!!!!!!!!!! Determined to take care of Lyf despite any protest from Lyf bc they clearly need it ..... wailing........EVERYTHING UR WRITING!!!! SCREECHING!!!!
Okay so I was listening to the soundtrack again and actually pictured Nastya playing the old women to enchantress role with the rose- Jonny being like "Nastya? What the hell is your deal?" when she reveals herself (Carmilla may have used another small spell to conceal Nastya like that too). She takes the rose and gently tucks it behind his ear, maybe brushing a loose bit of hair with her hand too. "I'm sorry about this, Jonny." Nastya's eyes begin to glow and her hair and cloak start to float around her as Carmilla casts the spell. Jonny stumbles back in fear and shock, so the last thing Nastya sees of his human face before he transforms is genuine fear of her.
Ooo!!!! Ooo oo oo !!!!!! Brian also with the headphones + walk man Carmilla made him again.... (because idk if we're keeping that but I cannot stop thinking about it anyway lol) What if Brian gets sensory overload very easy- like Jonny, but Jonny gets more visually overwhelmed and Brian gets more auditory overload! (Of course both probably deal with both and other things, but they're most sensitive to those specifically.) So Brian wearing his headphones when he goes into town bc there's so much racket and talking that so it keeps him calm! (Sensory overload is often noise related a lot for me, and can also cause physical pain and panic when it gets too bad. Brian doing the headphone thing with the dresses to hurt less and Carmilla always doing what she can to accommodate him!!!!!
Also Brian using the headphones to comfort Jonny during a loud storm. Brian showing him the contraption first, a gift handmade from his mama (<- literally sick about him calling Carmilla mama btw /pos), and plays the music through the headphones before putting them on Jonny so he knows what to expect. Then gently placing them on his ears (that takes a minute to figure out) and handing him the walk man thingy, also maybe guiding him through the controls. The music drowns out most of the storm which calms him down. Also I love picturing beast Jonny walking on two or four legs, so I can see him wearing the headphones, walkman in his mouth as he uses all four legs to walk over to a cozy spot with Brian so they can snuggle..... sniveling pathetically over them rn......
Consider: Marius trying to compensate for his height by "secretly" wearing platform boots all the time (he is still short with those just less so).....
So I like the idea of Marius and Lyf's romance going very slow and not making any majors moves until way after the curse.... but I also like the heat of the moment sort of idea. Marius confessing his love sometime during the mob/climax and Lyf overhearing... After they're all human again Lyf asks if he meant it, which of course he did, more than he ever dreamed he could mean something like that. Lyf grins and grabs Marius, dips him and kisses him very nicely. Marius is bright red and speechless- this is far better than all the rejection he's had in the past......
Idk I love this happening right after the curse is broken, but I also love this happening a few months or a year or so after the curse breaks. Lyf asks Marius to walk with them through the gardens ("Alone please," to two war criminals who pout and walk off) and asks him about what he said that night (and maybe some other things said and done through their past together). They ask if he meant it- he did, truly he did. They ask if he still feels that way now- he scuffs his toe, sheepishly replying "I never stopped loving you, not for one moment." "I was hoping you say something like that." "Wait what really- Oh!" and Lyf still dips and kisses Marius. Either one is so precious to me... but both times Tim and Bertie still are in the background cheering and wolf whistling when Lyf does that. They flip the boys off, not even looking up at them and still kissing Marius.
Also Marius and Toy's friendship is so important to me god!!!!! Lacking extra ideas for them atm but they mean so much to me.............
Severe thunderstorm warning + tornado watch rn so i tried speed running this post in case internet goes out or anything!! (<- did not speedrun very well) 'tis spooky outside. The irony too after writing about Jonny's storm stuff.... Take care of yourself!!! Be back later again probably I am brainrotting like crazy
Beauty and the Beast, but it's the Mechanisms.
Jonny must be the beast because feral Jonny and the whole heart thing... prove me wrong.
Tim or Brian is Belle.
Rest of the Mechs are the servants in the Beast's house. With an exception for Marius as Gaston cause I can totally fucking see it. He would suck at it though because it's Marius. And also, short Marius HC.
This is probably not new. But it's been brewing in my head for a good few months, ever since I put my Mechs OC in the iconic Belle dress.

So like, I had a couple head canons I wanted to list, but also specifically stuff regarding my OC ship with Saphira. So I'm gonna do the pairing stuff separately here, to avoid making a super long as hell post. (Uh warning this'll probably still be decently lengthy because I tend to over explain)
Also, some spoilers for Reborn and perhaps parts of it's post game. (As of writing this I'm still in tier 5 of anomaly quests)
Anyways
-in general, during the post game Allyson and Saphira start actually hanging out now that, at least a decent chunk of the life threatening situations are dealt with besides anomalies. Training together frequently (shared use of and love of Dragon types helps), but Allyson also trying to encourage Saphira to spend time with her in more casual things. Saphira starts to enjoy just listening to Allyson happily ramble about her interests or her Pokemon or other things like that
-Allyson, of course has a really... Not good childhood and horrible teenage years. She has a lot of issues in general, but essentially she's not used to having so many friends and people she actually considers to be family, and is still being acclimated to it. So for a while she doesn't even recognize she even has romantic feelings for Saphira at all.
-Included in Allyson's wealth of issues is self confidence issues in anything that isn't battling. So when she does finally actually put words to her feelings, she feels like she doesn't quite deserve any sort of romance or relationship like that. Good ol' messy situation for her, and that mindset makes her oblivious to Saphira's feelings in the matter, and herself too nervous to do anything other then spend time with her and silently pine.
-For both of them, feelings kind of existed before the post game, but for a multitude of reasons due to plot and ongoing character development nothing more substantial than "oh that girls kinda cute" or "oh shit that girl's fucking badass" and other type of thoughts like that.
-For Saphira, she starts to realize she's starting to have feelings for Allyson and just, doesn't know what to with them??? Really in a "well that's new" type of situation and is unsure how to deal with them. Also oblivious to Allyson's feelings for her, due to not really thinking she has them (ya know, despite the amount of time Allyson wants to and tries to spend with her). May or may not be low key afraid her anger issues might push Allyson away (and feels kind of bad for the outburst she had that caused her to yell at Allyson back after the gym battle during the Labradorra tournament).
-Eventually and very reluctantly goes to Laura for advice because she is wholly unsure of how to deal with it herself, and also because "she seems to be with that odd Bennett guy right". Laura is of course very supportive of her, and does her best to help her. Also Charlotte would absolutely tease her for this which is just an amusing thought to me.
-also have to mention it is wholly unfortunate how much they have in common as far as pre-Reborn's story goes
-But like, regardless of the two's personal issues, they're like, really soft together. They know to give one another space at times and trust each other very much. Protective of one another as well, and Allyson feels truly and perfectly safe in Saphira's presence (something she never really felt to a full degree before). Saphira also feels more comfortable herself.
Anyways I am mentally ill for them :3

I watched the the Monkey King Reborn movie with Kai, Rhy and a few other people!
Here's my reaction to it!
(Obviously contains spoilers for the movie)
If people would like to see the movie, here’s a handy link to where you can watch it free with subtitles
Primordium!?! Wasn't his name Huandi or something?
Is that him?!? Oh no it's just Tripitaka, fuck you
Excuse me!? MY demon!?!
Ah there is our emo boy
Hello what that tongue do?
Look at that statue, look at that background ( I did gush about the backgrounud and character designs a lot so I cut them out of this reaction for the sake of not being tedious)
Rhy: Why did they gave him eyeliner? Me: Why NOT
Everyone in VC: Get his ass

My thoughts on the finale (long post)
Okay, I really just wanna put some thoughts down and I need to do it here. Spoilers and opinions, you can choose to agree or not, but please be respectful
I usually try to have a good attitude about things, pointing out the best in everything.
I'm having a really hard time right now.
That's not to say the episode was bad, it's just...
Well, I feel like I'm watching the Game of Thrones finale again. I just feel so unfulfilled. Then again, my hormones are a little out of wack at the moment (thanks mother nature) so my odd feelings could be because of that. I feel so angry and upset and hyped and... I don't honestly know. I really don't. I feel like I want to throw up, but not in a bad or good way.
I guess I just...
Feel.
I've stayed up every night for every episode because I just adored it so much. Yet I feel like... there should be more. I know we got a second season confirmed, but we don't know when. We don't know what it means for the future of the MCU. We don't know anything.
I guess we should have expected this because Loki was supposed to be this new horizon for the MCU. Doctor Strange 2 needed a plot. Someone said this show was just a big ad for MoM, and I find myself disagreeing with that, but only a little.
I think the best way to describe it is it's like the show suddenly decided it wanted to be something else. It's not a bad thing necessarily, but after episode 3, the tone really shifted.
I'm trying really hard to hold off on my more detailed thoughts, but they just keep creeping in, so I'll just wrap up this... intro? Idk.
I think the TLDR is that I feel disappointed, but I don't really blame anyone. Kate Herron, Mike Waldron, they all did AMAZING jobs. They really deserve the highest of praise for this. Is it my favorite MCU project? Yes. Am I excited for season 2? Absolutely.
Tumblr media
But Game of Thrones can still be my favorite show and I can still dislike the ending.
I find writing this out is helping me feel better. Once I sleep it'll probably feel less... hopeless.
Now, next section. My thoughts on key plot points.
We all figured Kang would be introduced. I'm actually very excited to see what they do with him. The actor was just phenomenal and I can't wait to see him later on. Someone call up Erik Voss because he redeemed himself after the whole Mephisto deal
I guess the Multiverse was reborn, but not in the way I was expecting/hoping. I feel like there's a large gap between when the timeline shattered and the final scene with Loki, Mobius, and B-15. What happened? Though, I guess it makes sense. We all wanted a multiverse. We never considered the consequences.
I'm angriest about Mobius losing his memories and not getting his jetski. Like I said, Yelena can get a dog in BW after mentioning it once. But as someone on Reddit pointed out, they had to make sure Marvel would greenlight a second season. It does not mean I can't have a huge cow about it. That's what we get for jinxing it, friends.
I think I understand what Star Wars Sequel haters went through. Getting all these grand (maybe... glorious?) ideas about the ending and what a hopeful message about destiny and identity the series could give us. And the series gave us... none of that. Hell, I was so sure these would be used, and I was bamboozled. I'm sure others saw it coming, but they just looked too good to be fake out shots. My best guess is that they're gonna use this footage in season 2 for a plotline and they stuck it in here to trick us... but maybe that's just me being desperate
Tumblr media
It was barely 1 AM here, Marvel. The Miss Minutes jumpscare was NOT COOL. I mean, THIS IS HORRIFYING IN LIGHT AS WELL
Tumblr media
I'm really confused about Ravonna now. Is she good or is she bad? Where did she go? And why was it important we see her backstory and not any of the others (say, B-15 or Mobius)?
God, okay, I guess I have to address the elephant in the room now.
The Sylki kiss and then betrayal fight thing.
Let me get one thing very extremely clear before I continue: I do prefer Lokius, but I am FINE with Sylki. I think I've just been desensitized to any ship that ends with -cest because, as I've made clear here and in the past, I adore Game of Thrones and Crimson Peak.
I honestly think my main reservation about it is a flaw within myself that I dared not admit until I saw it staring me in the face: I'm probably a little possessive. I can admit this and I really dislike it about myself. But I think I'm just not a fan of Loki having a love interest in general. What makes Lokius different, I have no clue. Maybe deep down I knew Marvel was too much of a pussy to ever make it canon... then again, I was begging for a last minute kiss or something. My feelings on the matter are complicated.
But the way they handled the kiss in this episode? Gotta say, not too much of a fan. I know some antis like this, but it just felt too... not genuine. Maybe I'm just an idiot who thinks all kissing should have a meaning. A purpose. The Reylo kiss in Rise of Skywalker? Ben just saved Rey's fucking life, I think that warrants a large gesture of affection.
But this?
I think I get bad juju from the kiss, not the fact that they made it Canon. You can disagree or agree any way you want, you can even send nasty anon messages. That's my opinion and I'm choosing to stick to it.
And sending nasty anons won't do squat, I don't give a shit about faceless threats and hate.
Anyways, back to my point
The fight felt like a mutual betrayal, but at the same time it felt like neither really wanted to go through with it. I admit I felt Sylvie was more in the right and that Loki seemed a little too complacent, especially after everything he went through and saw. But like Sylvie, I didn't consider the consequences and now everything is fucked. But I still don't think Loki was right.
I think it boils down to being an impossible choice because no matter what you pick, everyone loses.
I believe that my main gripe with Sylvie and Loki's ideology split is that it feels a little too rushed and/or, dare I say it, out of character. I've agreed with Loki's characterization up until this point (again, you can disagree with me, that's your opinion and you have full right to it), but... man, I don't know. It all feels like an impossible situation.
Then again, I'm not the one in the director's chair. I'm not the team in the writers room. I don't know the first thing about making a project like this. I like taking solace in the fact that Tom had some creative control in the series about the character he loves so much. And, let's be real, he knows Loki the best out of all of us. None of us can hold a candle to that.
We can call ourselves experts, but Tom is the real expert. I trust him more than anyone. If he hated how this was turning out, he probably would have said something.
We just have to trust in the creative process
So, at the end of the day, this series was (and still is, remember, season 2 is on the way) absolutely phenomenal and I think it's Marvel's strongest work in a very long time. They know Loki is a character we all love and adore and I feel like they've done their best in honoring that. Besides, what other character is getting a second season? How awesome is that??
I found writing this out helped me process my thoughts and emotions IMMENSELY. I don't feel as... angry? Hopeless? I don't know. I keep comparing this to the end of Game of Thrones, and I feel like that's doing a disservice to Loki. Game of Thrones' ending was just absolute dog shit and there was no chance to redeem it because it was the last season.
Loki has a second season on the way.
It's not over yet.
Nothing is ever final until the universe forces it.
Kang can be stopped
The Multiverse can roam free
Loki can learn to find true happiness
Sylvie can stop running and fighting
Ravonna can redeem herself
The TVA can burn or reform (whichever you choose)
And yes
Mobius can get a jetski
We know nothing yet of season 2, what it will entail, how it connects to the rest of the Marvel Universe, or even when it will be out. But I know that I will eagerly await it when that day comes. I will once again put on a smile. I will wait hours to watch the new episode the moment it drops. I will be excited for it and enjoy it.
Because, at the end of the day, that's all it's about. Telling a story. And, mother of God, Marvel sure is telling a good one.
Until next time, my friends.
For All Time. Always!
