The bell shuro gives laios is such an elegant piece of symbolism. Laios immediatly stows it away but it's jingling at the bottom of his bag (and mind) the whole time as the crew enters the most isolated section of the story.
Rescuing Falin was the first thing shuros ever wanted or asked for and Laios return pushes him to be more and more proactive abt his desires. On Shuros side, its constantly ringing, out of his control, and annoying to him and everyone around him. Despite being mortified w intruding on other people, he keeps it on him even when he sleeps. They both almost throw it away several times.
Thru the story its a little ambiguous what shuro feels about laios. IMO the dead giveaway is where he puts that bell:

Okay but do you think the people who were really close to odysseus during the Trojan war had a running bet for when odysseus claimed to have a vision from Athena if it was true or not? Because half the time he was just lying about that.

Fucks me up jobs expect workers to show up despite wild circumstances. I remember at a former job having to traverse sub zero temperatures just to walk to my job because they refused to close the building. I remember having to work front line in covid as an immune compromised individual with no vaccine produced yet and when concerns were expressed, my superiors responded with "when workers get infected, these parts of the building will be closed". God forbid you lose a family member. You're expected to show up anyway.
Today my boss told me to contact an office to confirm if a doctor has his papers in order. I say: they won't pick up, and he asks why, to which I responded: THEY WERE IN DIRECT LINE OF MILTON, YOU KNOW, THE DEVISTATING HURRICANE PART 2?? WHY WOULD THEY PICK UP???

The worst thing about burnout is that you have to abstain from "optional" practoces that are necessary for your recover and mental health (hanging out with friends, playing games, going out on walks, leaving the house to do things you like), but you still have to do the essential, exhausting drivel that made you burn out in the first place. Go to work. Go to school. Go to one million doctor's appointments. Because if you don't, you either die or lose access to a vital thing keeping you alive (money, healthcare, etc).
(Btw this post is about physical chronic illness/physical disability related burn out and health crashes. I'm eating once a day. There is no accessibility tip you can give me that will enable me to rest and recoup more effectively. I am having a health crisis.)

LISTEN; I don't rewrite arcs until they're done, so, don't take any of this as canon to BB yet, but... maybe a change I should really anticipate is changing HOW Bramblestar steps down.
I think it would work well with the themes of BB for it to not be his choice, but a... "gentle rebellion." Squirrelflight, Sparkpelt, all of the Firekin, Twigbranch, everyone who has been harmed by Bramblestar confronting him as a group and telling him what's going to happen next.

Just starts ranting, his voice rising in volume, lurches up out of his nest and tries to tower over everyone to make them cower.

A year ago, she would have been terrified of that. But God is hard to fear when you've been plucked from the heavens and seen his angels die.
