ASK EDDIE returns Thursday, July 18, 7:00 PM PT to our Facebook page, https://bit.ly/3V8mRLB
In this episode, we discuss classic era noirs that resonate with our current sociopolitical landscapes, Eddie’s involvement with Tab Hunter’s memoir, “Tab Hunter Confidential”, character actors who automatically elevate a film, “Miller’s Crossing”, and more. We wind up with a discussion of which classic noir we would like to see directed by the modern director of our choice. Sorry, folks, no cats this week. Want your question answered in a future episode? We solicit questions from our email subscribers in our monthly newsletters. Sign up for free at https://www.filmnoirfoundation.org/signup.html
Everyone who signs up on our email list and contributes $20 or more to the Film Noir Foundation receives the digital version of NOIR CITY Magazine for a year. Donate here: https://www.filmnoirfoundation.org/contribute.html
Can’t join us on Thursday? No problem! A recording will be up on our YouTube channel, @NoirCity, on Friday, July 19: https://www.youtube.com/user/NoirCitySF
Note: Eddie will not be able to answer questions posted during the livestream nor ones left on our social media accounts

Why is it that comfort movies are always either filled with murder, conspiracy or hot people? Like sure you have the *classic* comfort movies, but there is nothing better than a hot policeman obsessing over a murder case or a sleazy criminal barely managing to escape with their life in a risky situation. It just hits you right in the feels. Please tell me other people find gritty, violent movies comforting.
