The second they were sat down, Miray started speaking, barely stopped for breath in between the words. “Nothing… happened per say. Well I guess technically something happened. I just have something I need to tell you and I should have told you so much sooner but I needed to tell Liam first and I just couldn’t find the right time to tell him but I finally did so now I need to tell you because I tell you everything.” She took a breath finally realising she hadn’t done that since she started speaking. “Nasrin I’m pregnant.” She said and finally shut up, waiting to see what her cousins reaction was going to be to the news.
WHILE NASRIN WAS WELL aware that the situation miray was presenting her with could be anywhere from a need for a last minute babysitter to hiding a dead body -- the woman knows better than to ever possibly risk one thought being right over the other. thus, she makes haste as she leaves her workspace behind catches the attention of her driver. the very moment nasrin walks through the door, her shoulders lose some amount of tension as she realizes that mina is nearby. not only safe, but she knew her cousin knew better than to conduct buisness around her daughter. " no, no. it appears that we have a serious matter on our hands. i'll drink if there's a reason to celebrate. " her smile is reassuring. even if she felt some amount of anger, confusion that her cousin didn't let her in on what had happened -- it's quickly thrown aside. miray was not just her cousin, but her sister. once they're seated, she outstreches a hand. " what the hell happened? "

“In the kitchen!” Miray called from inside the fridge as she surveyed the contents. Even though she was the person who had brought the groceries and put them there it was like it was a different human, current Miray didn’t want a single thing she saw in front of her. She wanted something sweet, chocolate or something and yet she had none. Giving up she closed the door and turned to Liam. “Hey, we didn’t get much of a chance to talk about the whole me being pregnant thing before the ferris wheel decided to explode so I just wanted to know how you’re feeling.”
Liam had gotten off pretty easy compared to some others during the carnival, but his main worry of the night was Miray. He was glad she decided to spend some time as the hospital, though it was only a matter of time before she busted herself out. Once he got the call he headed straight over, letting himself in at the sound of her voice. “Hey baby, where are you?” He questioned, looking around as he shut the door behind him.

“I’m still perfectly comfortable.” Miray shrugged. She wasn’t, not quite but things could have been significantly worse. If you lined all of the gangs up next to each other they were still doing well in comparison to some. People knowing she killed an ex husband wasn’t going to change that. “How are you doing with all of that stuff being out in the open?”
@mirayaslan
LOCATION: up to you queen! FOR: miray aslan
HE KNOWS THE QUESTIONS are incoming. maybe, just maybe, he's been preparing himself for them since his initial run-in with derin on the street. what he can still cling onto, however, is the knowledge that people only know about the chapter of their affair from four years ago. what's unknown to the public, is that he's been unable to stop himself from seeing her. breathing derin in like air. the texts about miray's secret being revealed hadn't been known to him until the next morning, thanks to the shots aspen had fed him the rest of the night. but now, he couldn't help but wonder if the two of them now had to prepare for damage control.
" well. " he mutters initially as he takes a seet across from her. " we were really startin' to get comfortable -- weren't we? "

“Freddie did you manage to make it out okay the other night? I saw that for some reason you’d decided to charge into the chaos which I can't say I understand but good for you I guess..” Freddie couldn't claim to be the brightest bulb in the box but he was harmless and his intension were good, Miray was sure of that. Something about him rather reminded her of a Labrador puppy; adorable but not a whole lot behind the eyes. "I can't stand around chatting for too long you know, gang rivalries and whatnot but I just wanted to check in."

911 I need you to come over as soon as you can
Was all Miray sent to her cousin. It was perhaps a tad dramatic but the Aslan women had always been known for that particular personality trait anyway. The second the knock sounded at her door Miray practically dragged the other woman in, giving her no time for greetings. “Come in, take a seat, make yourself at home. Mina’s in her room playing with her dolls. Do you want a drink?” Miray wanted nothing more than a drink even though she knew she couldn’t have one but maybe she could live vicariously through Nasrin.

The last thing Miray wanted to do was be in a hospital again but luckily for her after being on oxygen for a couple of hours she was good to go, or at least she’d decided she was good to go. No doctor was going to keep her there for any longer than she felt was necessary. If Miray Aslan said she was fine then she was fine. She headed back home wanting nothing more than to be with Mina and make sure she was okay after witnessing the explosion. Her baby girl needed as many cuddles as possible and if Miray was honest she wanted some baby cuddles too. As soon as the little girl was down for the count Miray called Liam, inviting him over. They had a lot to talk about after some of the revelations of the night before had been somewhat interrupted. "It's open, come in!" She yelled the second she heard the alert on her phone, indicating that there was somebody at the door.

His confidence that they'd be together again some day always somehow surprised her. Either he knew something she didn't, or he needed to get his delusional self to a psych ward as soon as possible. Plus, he couldn't have much faith in his current relationship. "Well aren't you so kind and charitable. Don't worry Griffin I'd never think that. You couldn't avoid me if you tried."
"Yeah, uh, huh. Whatever you say Miray." Griffin waved off her delusions. Never experience it again, she was a funny one. "Oh, I have donated to a bunch already. I just didn't want you to think I was avoiding you."

"Unfortunately I've had to implement a one per customer policy after too many men thought they got to hog me for the entire night. Normally I'd make an exception for someone as cute as yourself but I can't have people getting the wrong idea, I'm sure you understand." It was insulting really that people thought they could have her for as long as they wanted for a couple hundred dollars, she was far more expensive than that. Miray plucked the bill out of the other woman’s fingers and placed it on the money box with everything else that had been made that shift before leaning forward and capturing her lips in a kiss.
𝐈𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐍'𝐓 𝐎𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐀𝐋𝐈 𝐅𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐌𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐕𝐄𝐒 speaking with the leaders from the other gangs, or at all, really. They steered clear of them for the most part, not from fear but of disinterest. But Miray? She was the only woman pulling the reigns out of all 5 groups and that alone (along with her looks) made her far more interesting than the other leaders-- besides the Syndicates, of course. Digging into the pocket of their jacket, they fish out their wallet and grab a bill bigger than a $10, fingers offering it over to the brunette, ❝There, that should get me a few.❞ They chuckle before adding, ❝Kidding, kidding. Wouldn't wanna hog up the line and form an angry mob.❞ Or upset the thumb, as Griffin had used to refer to her boyfriend the other day. Not that Denali would be opposed or bothered by it.

In her every day life Miray was far more of a king both in her personal life and in business but that didn’t mean she didn’t enjoy being treated like a princess sometimes. Liam treated her how she deserved to be treated, how she’d always wanted a relationship to be. "You know, you really shouldn't be so willingly admitting that you want to distract the boss.” She teased and absentmindedly threw two darts, both of him hitting their targets with ease.
Liam was well aware that Miray didn’t need his money nor did she ask for it, but she was the type of woman that deserved to spoiled by someone other than herself. The treatment was rare, something reserved for the beautiful woman who’d stolen his heart. He was happy to spend any amount on Miray and Mina, that treatment would soon be reflected in as many prizes the woman wanted. His eyes traveled to the large pink unicorn the booth had on display, the one that required each of the darts to pop one of the balloons behind him — simple enough. “I have full confidence in your aim, maybe this distraction is just what you need to really test your skills.” He teased before placing the six darts in front of her. “Too bad I’m stuck behind here, I could think of plenty of other ways to distract you.”

"I wouldn’t count on that. If anything people might wait until shift two specifically to see me.” She knew she was an in demand woman, people would have been queuing for miles for the change to kiss her. “I don't need permission to do anything but it only seems right that I speak to my boyfriend about me kissing other people, does it not? A man will never tell me what I can or can't do but it's a respect thing.” Miray never would have been with a man who tried to tell her what to do, she was far too stubborn for that.
"Sounds like plenty of time to let the novelty wear off on the shift one people and then everyone can leave you alone." A fool's hope and he was no fool, the platitude rang as hollow as he'd meant it. As soon as word spread that Miray was posted up to pucker up, no doubt droves would flock to investigate for themselves. Which was precisely why Kerem intended on spreading the good news around. Her response to his Liam comment only earned a rather pointed expression indicating it was a joke. Or at least his version of one. "You needed permission for charity work? Yikes on bikes."

Miray knew the power she had, the aura, the ability to bring men to their knees. It was a dangerous thing to wield, especially when she was a taken woman and working at a kissing booth. She stood waiting for him to make the move, just because she was the one at the booth she shouldn’t have to do all the work.
At the ghost of a touch against her jaw, something echoed in the back of her mind about Liam not waiting other people to touch her but she was quickly too occupied to do anything about it. She had the presence of mind to keep her own hands on the table in front of her, surely if she didn’t touch it was fine, right? Their lips pressed together in something far hotter and most intense than she’d been expecting, so much so that when they parted she had to catch her breath. “One per customer I’m afraid. I’m hate to make the rest of the line jealous by giving you special treatment.”
his brain short-circuited the second she leaned in. that little smirk, dark hair spilling over her shoulders, and the lace? yeah, he was a goner. his grin stretched wider, a little sharper. hands planted on the counter he leaned in, almost closing the last inches between them. his gaze dropped to her lips, lingering there just long enough to make it obvious. then he met her eyes again—all heat, and his hand slid up, knuckles brushing the curve of her jaw as he leaned in. slow, deliberate his lips pressed against hers, warm, firm, the kind of kiss that didn’t ask. it took. tasted. a little more pressure, thumb rough along her cheekbone, and then he was on her. mouth hot, demanding, eager.
when he finally pulled back, full lips tingling, his eyes locked on hers, and his mouth curved into a cocky, breathless grin. "shit, i might need a second round."

Miray's eyes drifted over the newest person that had walked over to the booth, mind immediately trying to place him in a gang. "Not the first time this evening I've heard that. I really do hate to disappoint, but I have to let somebody else take over at some point. You're lucky you got in here while you could, I think shift two ends soon." Or at least Miray was hoping it did. As much as she greatly preferred the kissing booth to other places she could have been working she would have much preferred not to work any of them.
"I guess you better." She smirked, hands on the booth of the booth as she learnt forwards slightly. "And I should probably make it worth your time too for having to wait in line."
pink, red, hearts, glitter—like the inside of a candy box exploded and nobody had the heart to clean it up. stupidly romantic, but honestly, between the sugar rush and the easy wins at every game stand, the whole thing had been one big ego boost.
and then he saw the kissing booth. or, more accurately—the woman behind it. lace peeking from her neckline, dark hair, sharp mouth. smoking hot. and he was supposed to just walk past? nah. the line inched forward, slow as fuck, but he was patient when he needed to be. when it was finally his turn, tiago didn't even mind the edge of impatience in her voice. in fact—hotter.
he stepped up, leaning into the counter just enough to close the gap, let his grin do most of the work. “shame,” he drawled, eyes slowly trailing up. “guess i better make it worth your time, huh?”

Miray didn't need his money, she'd never needed a man to pay for anything for her or her daughter but she wasn't going to turn it down. She was independent but she wasn't stupid, free money was free money. "She's in a pink phase recently, which is wild because a few months ago she hated everything pink and would say it's yucky and now everything in the world needs to be pink and princess and glitter or she wont go near it." It was a hassle having to throw away so many of her old toys but Mina was a princess and demanded to get what she wanted, much like her mother. "I should be good at this I've been told my aim is pretty good, if only I didn't have an incredibly sexy boyfriend stood distracting me."
Liam dreaded having to stay in one spot for too long at events like this, the post making it difficult to keep tabs on everything going on within his surroundings. It wasn’t just himself that he was looking out for anymore, having an entire group of people’s safety in his hands was something he didn’t take lightly — though there was one person who was higher on his radar than the rest. Her voice caused a smile to appear on his lips, his attention quickly shifting to his girlfriend. “Hey beautiful.” His shift at the balloon dart suddenly became so much better. “For you?” He questioned with a shake of his head before pulling out his own money for her to play with. “You’re not walking away from here without one of them, what color?”

"That's a good point." Miray was sure they could have blended into the crowd, made it so that nobody noticed they were spending very reluctant time with each other but she understood why he wouldn't want to risk it. After everything the society had recently done to the serpents it was probably for the best that she wasn't seen with him. She was certain that wouldn't go down well with Dante if he were to find out. "I will. Maybe get her something big and pink, she'll be too distracted to ask any questions then."
He could certainly think of better ways to be spending his night. All of which didn't involve Miray - the kissing booth was admittedly less of an issue. "Wasn't exactly on my 2025 bingo card either." The curvature of his smile is polite, though it holds onto ice just as surely as the cold chill in the air. "All things considered, I'd much rather not be seen with you and our...- Mina, so publicly." Though it felt like pulling teeth just to admit it. Now was not the time to be dangling any ounce of vulnerability in front of the Serpents. The Gallo girl and the former society lookout, now rotting at the bottom of the Hudson had certainly lit a match between the factions. Tonight, he'd set the city on fire if Mina was caught in the crosshairs. "I'm sure you'll find a way to explain that to her," he bites out.
