#compression stockings for blood pressure

Random question that maybe you or the horde can shed some light on/help make things make sense for me.
We got confirmation for the POTS diagnosis for me (wheeeee). One of the standard recommendations for treating POTS is compression stockings. Which, yeah, it's my understanding that POTS usually comes with low blood pressure, and increasing external pressure via compression stockings increases internal pressure.
Problem is, my POTS comes with *high* blood pressure. Everything I know is screaming at me that wearing compression stockings is just gonna make that *worse.*
You got any knowledge/info that says otherwise? Anyone else maybe have experience with this weird crossover that cares to share?
Thank you for being you. You're amazing.
Oh, I can answer this: because even POTS with high blood pressure doesn’t make up for blood pooling and venous insufficiency which is very common in POTS with or without an EDS diagnosis.
When blood pools in your lower extremities, it forces the heart to work harder and in some types of POTS this can lead to high blood pressure. I know this because I have the hPOTS variant and my blood pressure is generally high, but getting my heart to work less hard evens things out, including my BP. Part of evening things out means accounting for my weak veins, and preventing my blood from pooling in my legs. If my blood flow is better from compression wear, my heart works less and my BP evens out.
I know it doesn’t sound right in terms of purely BP, but you need to account for venous insufficiency and that’s what the compression helps with regardless of POTS type.
Now, it might not work for you, you might be the small percentage of people with POTS who feel worse with compression wear, but it’s easily fixable by just taking the garments off. Sure you maybe just wasted $20 on a pair of socks which sucks, but it’s something worth taking a risk on imo if it might help in the long run.
Hope that helps!

PLEASE MAKE THAT INVINCIBLE FIC OH MY GOD I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR SMTH LIKE THAT FOR AGES
UGH. I tried...I gave myself immediate writers block so I might have to do a multi-parter....here's a little 2K I started to set the tone.
Thoughts and comments are SUPER encouraged and will help me out of this rut!
Pairing: Mark Grayson x gn!reader (currently in jail for being morally grey)
Notes: inspired by Blade Runner, eeao, etc. Reader's power is being able to see the future, currently set in the beginning of season three, etc.
By a cruel twist of fate, the moment you were born—created, was also the moment you began to die. You didn’t mind at the time, thinking death was a gift given only to the living. But it took time for you to learn that people—real people—had mothers that took time to form a baby that would grow into a someone worth something.
Not many were “born” the way you were. Your body was fully formed, mature like an adult rather than someone who had just come to be moments ago. Your infancy, childhood, adolescence, and adulthood never existed. You just were.
You lay there at your beginnings, wet and trembling, atop compressed rubber and metal grating, you felt nothing but terror. Your body was stricken by wracking sobs like a newborn. Your face gradually relaxed, already nothing left within you. Soon, your wailing turned into coughing as your body expelled the synthetically made amniotic fluid from your lungs.
“Are you done?” The voice was sudden. Clinical. Detached.
The voice made you aware of the world around you; a small, sterile room that it was, you opened your sticky eyelids only to be forced to squint against the penetrating glare of the artificial lighting overhead. You lay there for a moment, twisted and gasping like a crushed bird on pavement.
You shivered—no convulsed.
It took a few heaving breaths to focus your eyes. The first thing you made sense of was your hands. The sensation was odd. They were attached to you, but they weren’t yours. You weren’t sure.
It was too much.
Your brain was pressing against the confines of your skull, threatening to crack the bone and spill out onto the rubber. You wanted it to; your first desire. You wanted it to slip through the grate like the yolk of a broken egg.
Feet come into view. They’re clad in sensible heels over black stockings—utilitarian. You peered through the pulsing behind your eyes to find a worn woman’s pinched face peering down at you. Only in retrospect did you know it was with disappointment.
With human-like instinct, you reach out for her. For help. For empathy. She would become the closest thing to a mother you would ever know.
You clasped your slimy hand around her tight-clad ankle. The bones were fragile underneath your grip. One too-tight squeeze and they would snap under the pressure. She tried to shake you off, like this was familiar. Expected.
You clung on, desperate for contact. You didn’t know yet that you would be “raised” solely by the wire mother with no comfort of the cloth.
“Enough.” Her voice cut over the faint hum of the room. Disgust marked her face. You would grow familiar with the expression. Both from her and others. “Let go.”
As if burned, you immediately do. The compulsion to obey was too pressing to ignore. Every blood vessel and muscle fiber of your body was hardwired for submission. You tucked your hand against your chest, shrinking in on yourself. You were not praised for your obedience or comforted through turmoil.
Tools, you learned, did not get rewarded.
—
“You’re not supposed to smoke in here.”
You scoffed, pulling the contraband from your sock. The cigarette was rolled along your lips, a habit formed by comfort, before you lit it with a stolen match.
“Nothing matters, Mark.” You filtered smoke through your nose, half-lidded eyes remaining ahead. The thought was absentminded, your lips tingling with indifference. “I’ve told you already…”
Mark frowned. You never got him with a relaxed posture or a kind tone; dejection carved into him and he looked to place the guilt. The weight demanded to be shared.
“...Plus…” You took an obnoxiously long drag. “I’ve been on my best behavior…”
Smoke in Mark’s face fueled your ego. He’d let you stretch your legs for now, but you toyed with the boundaries.
“...Haven’t you noticed? No collar.” You smirked, elongating your neck. It was playfully seductive, but Mark couldn’t find the humor. “The warden just couldn’t resist me.”
Mark already berated the warden for the choice of returning your powers. Yet, the warden’s sport gambling outweighed the reason you were confined to these four walls. Even enforced justice was corrupt.
“Didn’t take much convincing,” You shrugged. “He loves baseball. You know Mark, Yankees are on a hot streak—
“Don’t you wanna know why I’m here?” Mark cut you off. His posture was hesitant, cautious with the vulnerability of his question.
You prickled, used to being a commodity. “I don’t give out fortunes for free.”
Mark leaned forward as if trying to bring you back. He was trying to reason with you. Loneliness touched with hints of regret, or hope colored by impatience. It was a pattern you recognized and rejected. Especially as only one of you were tethered to the leg of the table.
“Always Cecil’s errand boy.” Your tone was bare as you sucked in a crackling breath; the top of Mark’s hourglass was almost empty. It filled your chest filled with ill-suited humor.
You heard what happened; Dr. Seismic unveiled Cecil’s fallout plan that challenged Mark’s so-called incorruptible morality. You saw the way fear clawed its way up Mark’s throat, determined to make itself known. It fought with another emotion he was too proud to name. He wasn't unfamiliar with loss. But this. The feeling was wild.
Sentimental.
Mark wasn’t naive, though. He knew fear was like a pet to you: something you picked up to get a better look at but that you soon grew tired of. And now, fear was your ally. It weakened Mark’s instincts.
“Or have you finally come to your senses?” You were locked on Mark, eyes unwavering as you spoke.
Rarely had Mark seen you use your powers, but he’d heard plenty of its repercussions. Never had he thought it would affect him. It was like poison; something subtle that infiltrated his senses.
Slowly, things around him were off. An untrained eye wouldn’t see it. Couldn’t. Even now, Mark struggled to make out what the feeling was. Uneasy, but not tense. Stuck, but restless. Sound started to echo, wanting to linger on the skin. A touch unwanted.
He tried not to blink, it becoming strenuous with each repetition. The fraction of time expanded with each flutter, his life becoming fractured, but not privy for him to see. His attempt to focus was in vain as his attention was clung to the metallic taste on his tongue.
Then, able to muster up a final, sluggish blink, he reopened to see your eyes were no longer vibrant. They were devoid of everything. The white of your eyes turned black, seeping into the background to match your pupils.
“Oh, Mark…I hear the storm…” It hadn’t mattered if your mouth actually moved. Your voice stuck to him like warmed honey weighing him down. “They talk to me about progress…”
People theorized about the future. Some believed it was non-linear, fragmented by decisions unmade. Others believed it was predetermined. But you saw everything. Felt everything. Everything was just a random rearrangement of particles in a vibrating superposition.
It didn’t matter. Nothing mattered.
A simple breath through your nose was enough to translate your pessimism. It marked your return to the present. Your eyes were no longer dark and all encompassing. The room no longer spun and closed in on Mark. It was as if nothing happened. As if his soul wasn’t breached. As if no time had passed from your display.
“But I wouldn’t dare spoil your ending.” You tutted with gentle wit. Your forgotten cigarette was put out on the leg of the table. The remnants now belonging to the floor. “It’s just too good to miss out on.”
He pulled at his mask like he was suffocating; Mark never hid his anger well.
“Enough—!” He sucked at the air. Overwhelmed, he reacted with his strength, Mark’s grip dented the table to steady himself. Each breath helped clear the lingering fog you planted. “Listen to me—Just listen.”
“You want my attention, that it? Well, you have it.” You reminded yourself you could be fair. “Don’t waste it.”
“The guards said you’re not sleeping again.” His voice tempted to waiver, but his strength supported his point.
Mark’s admission made your ears ring. It was only meant for self-alleviation. To clear his conscience, but in doing so, he reminded you of your position. The only barrier seemed to be Mark’s incorruptible moral code, a space where you couldn’t quite freely exist.
In an ideal world, you’d like to think you and Mark could be friends. Frankly, though, his compassion made you nauseous. Or maybe it was nerves. The feeling was always hard for you to distinguish. You wished the way he looked at you would bring warmth to your chest, but it only reminded you of how that was another impossibility.
“You’ve been watching me.” Your eyes narrowed at the realization. Anger wouldn’t settle outside your chest. “You’ve always been weak Mark, but this—” You whistled lowly. “Pathetic.”
“Have you been dreaming again?”
“Try to understand. You do not have to be good, Mark.” You laughed. The smile his question elicited seemed genuine, but Mark’s guard went up. To you, he destroyed and betrayed himself for nothing. “You don't have to walk on your knees for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.”
“I’m not here to pity you.” Mark read between the lines. The idea of redemption bored you. “I don’t need to know what you saw. I just need to know if people are in danger. Last time was…”
Last time earned you freedom. No one saw it the way you did. They didn’t see the prison uniform as a comfort. Or finding solace in the itchy sheets of a metal bed. You lived better in a broken world; there were more corners for you lurk in.
Yet, it became Mark’s nature to think the worst of you, but it was never easy to swallow. There was a simpler time when he would have blindly followed you, not needing an excuse for your presence. But his skin crawled with something unspoken.
“Don’t you think I’ve learned my lesson?” You referenced something only Cecil was skilled enough to see through. Mark was still learning your tells. “Things are different."
With a sigh of your name, the original task was forgotten—Mark took the bait.
“I know, I know…”
There was exhaustion in his words. He was tired. Things had finally started to make sense only to upend. It was always too much, no matter how often you told Mark he was running in circles.
You couldn’t fault him, fucked up things happened and he was left to pick up the pieces. Even through all the noise, he sought you out. Mark didn’t understand what drew him toward you for consolation when you’d never stoop so low. He felt guilty for seeing your selfishness as something admirable.
“Chin up, Mark.” You said, voice lighter and less deceiving. The sudden lightness filled your chest, just shy of euphoria. “It’s the year of the dragon. It’s said to be an auspicious time.”
You relaxed in the metal chair. Its harshness was familiar, a comfort because when you saw everything, you felt everything. When Mark was the soft wool, you were the sacrificial knife.

Health Update:
it’s been a bit since i talked about my medical issues on here. this week, i finally let my friends and family convince me to bring up things that have been going on for years but i always have more pressing issues to address. i got diagnosed with orthostatic intolerance and not POTS like i was expecting. they’re still telling me to up my fluid and salt intake and to try compression stockings. it only took two minutes for my blood pressure to drop to 78/58. considering how awful i feel sometimes when standing, i bet my BP becomes even worse than that. anyone have recommendations for how to deal with this kind of thing? maybe compression stockings for sensitive skin?
i’m getting referred to the GI doctor and i’m supposed to ask my neurologist about the sleep walking and sleep talking. none of this is urgent, but i’d love to be able to swallow better and sleep better than i currently do
my daily life is still far more limited than i’d like. it sucks to compare November 2024 to that of 2023 and my current daily routine to those of January or May. in January, i was able to sit up and read all day most days. i only sit up for short periods now, and my back pain and fatigue are much more intense while upright. i miss being able to randomly learn, creative write, go out, and perform tasks of daily living by myself. i honestly don’t think i could survive on my own right now for longer than a month. i mourn those we’ve lost who were in the same situation but didn’t have a safety net
i’m grieving small losses in ability. even watching Critical Role or science videos. i wish i could go to community spaces. i wish i could write. (even speech to text and lying down while typing are too much.) it fucking sucks, especially when ‘author’ was one of the last terms i had to define myself and the impact i’ll have on the world
anyone relate? how is everyone else doing?

Would Connor have a smaller med kit bedside at home? If so when would he use it abd what would be in it?
The Nightstand Kit
Summary: Connor keeps a small medical kit in the drawer of his nightstand. Not because he’s paranoid—because he knows his wife. He knows how quickly things can turn. POTS episodes in the middle of the night. Migraines that hit before sunrise. Nausea that spirals into full-on dehydration. And so, the kit is there. Stocked, quiet, ready. And one night, when she wakes up gasping from pain and her heart racing out of control, that little kit becomes the one thing that stands between chaos and control.
Connor had built the kit slowly. Thoughtfully.
It started the night she woke him up with a whisper, eyes wide and glassy in the dark.
“I don’t feel right,” she’d said.
Her skin was clammy. Pulse racing. Her words slurring ever so slightly. A POTS episode, but a bad one. The kind that could lead to a fainting spell or even convulsive syncope if it spiraled.
That night, he’d run from room to room, collecting supplies in a panic.
Afterward, he decided: Never again.
So he made the kit.
Not some massive trauma bag. Just enough. Just what she’d need in a pinch.
It lived in the drawer beside his side of the bed, tucked neatly between a pulse oximeter and an extra phone charger.
Inside it:
• Emergency electrolyte packets
• A bottle of pre-mixed nausea medication in dissolvable form
• Pre-loaded syringe of Zofran
• Sumatriptan injector
• Spare compression sleeves
• A BP cuff with an auto-read screen
• Cooling forehead patches
• Instant ice pack
• TXA injection for heavy bleeding if she needed it fast
• Glucose tabs
• A backup injector for her Morphine, labeled with the dosage he memorised (because yeah it got morphine level bad)
• Her emergency med card and allergy list, just in case she couldn’t speak
He checked it every Sunday. Replaced anything expired. Swapped out what they’d used.
Sometimes, she teased him about it. Called it “Dr. Rhodes’ Nightstand ER.”
But she also looked relieved every time he opened it without hesitation.
One night, around 3:14 a.m., he felt her shift beside him.
Her breathing was off. Shallow. Tight. Her body curled in on itself.
He sat up instantly. “Hey, what’s wrong?”
“Hurts,” she whispered, hand pressing to her lower abdomen. “Bad. Really bad.”
He turned on the bedside light and saw it—the familiar look. Clenched jaw. Trembling fingers. That flare-up stare that meant her endo pain was cresting and her blood pressure was dropping from it.
“I’ve got you,” he said.
He opened the drawer calmly and pulled out the kit.
BP cuff on.
O2 sat monitor clipped to her finger.
She was tanking—fast.
He slipped on gloves and prepped the Morphine injection, talking her through it like he always did. “Deep breath, love. One… two… now.”
She whimpered, but nodded, leaning into his shoulder. He helped her drink half a glass of electrolyte water and propped her legs up with a pillow.
The migraine started thirty minutes later. He could see it in the way she flinched at the light. He handed her the cooling patch and closed the blackout curtains, using the softest touch to smooth her hair back from her forehead.
“You’re doing okay,” he murmured. “I’ve got everything under control.”
She cracked her eyes open just enough to meet his.
“You don’t sleep enough for someone who’s not the one flaring.”
He smiled faintly, pressing a kiss to her temple.
“You think I’m going to sleep while you’re fighting your whole nervous system? Nah. I’m clocked in.”
By morning, the pain had eased. Her vitals were stable. The worst had passed.
Connor sat on the edge of the bed, repacking the kit, checking the auto-injector expiration dates with bleary eyes.
She reached over and laced her fingers through his. “I don’t say it enough. But thank you. For all of it.”
He looked over and gave her a tired but genuine smile. “That’s what the kit’s for. That’s what I’m for.”
Because love, for Connor, wasn’t always grand.
Sometimes, it lived in drawers.
In pulse checks.
In knowing how to save her before she asked for help.
And he wouldn’t trade it for the world.

I tried to make it shorter but somehow only made it longer. oops. enjoy!
first off gonna point out things that you have done well: (which is a lot!)
Flush out infected wounds!
Being careful not to flush onto healthy skin!!! love love LOVE this detail!
If there is no way to position Danny to where the flush will trickle onto healthy skin have gauze catch the flush as it exits the wound
If not shot with venom stopping the bleed in the field is more important than flushing in the field because you can’t guarantee contamination during transport considering they are using their cars and not an ambulance
I know some of this doesnt apply cuz ghost healing powers but I just have many thoughts and want to give everything to you so you can have a big field to let your creative writing run wild 🖤
love that dash finds a container to collect the flush instead of just letting it run off onto the ground
dash remembering to restock his first aid kit!!!!!! ugh this is such a good detail
Bandaging gauze onto wounds instead of taping 🖤
Pressure!
This might seem like common knowledge but honestly it's not. sometimes people focus on absorption of blood which is no good. If there is blood to absorb, the pressure wrap needs to be taken off and redone
Dash could have shoved his jacket (or shirt. yes the one hes wearing. dirty shirt is better than bleeding out. can deal with infection later. in danny’s case, regular infection will be no problem) into danny’s wound for better pressure
the detail of describing dannys distress as he was losing blood is 👌
not everyone knows it gets hard to breath when you lose blood cuz blood is the thing that carries oxygen around your body
good for you
this is really cool
keeping danny horizontal as they transport him into the house 👏👏👏
dash grabbing a new rag and not the one sam dropped on the ground 👏👏👏
ideally they would be using sterile gauze though. even if not sterile gauze. regular gauze would be better than a rag cuz it doesnt leave lint behind
i dont know if you realized how well you wrote dash managing multiple people thru a crisis and remembering to check in on patient. like. fuck off (affectionate). so. good.
securing gauze with tape for the abdomen wound cuz wrapping pressure bandage around abdomen (1) would use too much material and (2) would make it hard to breathe/be very uncomfortable 👏👏
Wound care flow (since the rest of this is absolutely scatterbrained and I could not organize it better):
If need to stop bleeding apply tourniquet and pack wound with whatever gauze available
Place tourniquet 2 inches above wound. pull as tight as you can. then turn windlass until bleeding stops and not a turn more. you can cause serious damage to tissue if too tight. this is going to HURT
Combat gauze first (cuz it has clot activators)
Then compressed gauze on top (if wound is big enough. If wound small, combat gauze might be enough)
In order from most expensive to least expensive: combat gauze, compressed gauze, rolled gauze.
Ideally have all three but sometimes only have rolled or compressed gauze
With a high schoolers budget i’d imagine dash cannot afford combat gauze
Once wound is packed slowly loosen tourniquet to see if wound has been properly packed
If a tourniquet is on too long it will start to create damage (sorry I don’t know that time frame but a quick google says maybe 3 hours? Will report back when I do my bleeding control class
I say this cuz it would be interesting to see if you want to play with the venom
Like say bleeding is controlled but dash doesn’t have flush on hand or his stock was compromised in the fight. He gets bleeding under control but the venom starts to spread faster once the tourniquet is released.
Get out of the field if possible
Clean with diluted antiseptic and gauze (details on antiseptics later in note)
You want to clean before flushing because you don’t want to push anything that's on the surface into the wound
For venom sake dash might do like the worlds quickest clean, flush, then go back and do a better clean
Create a diluted antiseptic solution but adding antiseptic to saline/whatever flush is available (for chlorhexidine sky blue color or 30mLs per gallon, for iodine tea color or 15mLs per gallon - the mLs are gross estimates I never actually measure it out tbh I go by color) then soak gauze in it. So like have a bowl of gauze and pour the diluted antiseptic over it. You don't want a puddle but just enough to have wet gauze
The goal with cleaning is spreading the antiseptic around not rubbing it in
Scrubbing hard is counterproductive
Gentle wipes are best (but not like super soft just like no elbow grease if that makes sense)
Only need like 3-5 pass overs, this does not have to take a long time
Remove any small debris at the same time
Leave big debris in if danny infected with venom cuz this will help stop bleeding
Leave it in until in a spot where the venom can be flushed out but need to take it out before flushing cuz who knows if the debris is trapping some venom
Take it out if no venom cuz then he can start healing
Flush
Use saline not distilled water (more on this later)
Wipe the exterior with flush soaked gauze (especially if cleaned again after flush)
Dry with dry gauze
Apply ointment (optional)
Bandage
Make sure wound is completely dry before bandaging
(unless its giant then it can get a wet to dry bandage but with danny’s ghost healing that wont be something I need to get into)
If a small wound and no ointment applied, best to keep open because wounds need exposure to air to heal and like to stay dry (bacteria loves wet environments)
If large wound that needs to scab over definitely bandage
If cannot keep clean while healing then definitely bandage but take breaks in between bandages so the wound can have some air time and dry out
All gauze mentioned unless otherwise stated is nonwoven gauze (more on gauze in ifak notes)
danny’s big abdomen wound:
why do the antibiotics only work if the venom isnt active?
you do want the flush to go inside the wound. (responding to dash telling sam to not get the water inside dannys abdomen wound) because they are using distilled water and not sterile saline i can see your thought process but thats where the venom is. that is where you need to flush. and his ghost healing powers can take care of any infection introduced by flushing a wound with non-sterile flush.
why dunk the rags into a bowl of the distilled water? you’d want to pour the flush directly on to the wound and then clean with gauze soaked in diluted antiseptic. you dont want to dunk something that was already in the wound back into your cleaning or rinsing agent cuz then the whole thing becomes contaminated.
for this scene i would have put danny in the bathtub and just start pouring flush onto all his wounds. the pressure of the flush matters so pouring a lot quickly so it hits tissue harder is important. syringes work well for this cuz you can control pressure better based on how hard you push the plunger (but be careful cuz too much pressure causes tissue damage). but in this case he needs so much flush so quickly i would skip the syringes and just start pouring from the jugs. just like from a little bit of a height away from the wound (like a foot-ish) so that gravity can help in adding pressure.
why antibiotics straight onto the wound? sam can give them intravenously (IV). (most antibiotics need to be diluted and given over 20-30 minutes but you can ignore this fact tbh thats getting a little too technical…maybe…ill let you decide on that one). i was picturing the antibiotics being an oral administration. would be cool if team phantom was able to manufacture both IV and an oral version. for this wound danny would benefit from iv, during crisis, and maybe like one dose orally the next day to help with healing/take care of anything lingering. but for less serious wounds (like if his leg was the only thing hit then a few oral doses (basically until healed) would do the trick once the venom was flushed out. oral doses only work if patient is conscious enough to take them)
Antibiotics straight onto the wound would work just not very well. since the venom spreads so fast it probably became systemic (so like in his bloodstream) a few seconds after he started bleeding
I only added this cuz you already established Sam is able to hit a vein. But drawing blood is different (easier) than administering something into a vein.
Just want to give you all the info, do whatever you want with all of it 🖤
overall notes:
sterile saline. not distilled water.
if ‘saline’ is said instead of ‘sterile saline’ pretend like ‘sterile’ was said. sterile is always implied when talking about saline.
distilled water is okay if saline is not available
like in huge disaster situations where supplies are spread thin. say like when amity park was pulled into the ghost zone or a large scale ghost attack
or if budget is an issue (i’d imagine it is for a few high schoolers, sam excluded)
1 gallon (3,785mL) of distilled water for $1-2.80
100mL of saline is about $1 (so 37x more expensive)
distilled water is made by collecting and cooling the steam from tap water. So it is free from sediment (including salt) but it is not sterile
if using distilled water (for cost or availability reasons) put antiseptic (see ifak notes for details on antiseptics) in it first but only right before using. dont pre make it. if no classic antiseptics available, use vinegar (diluted out with the distilled water). id imagine vinegar burns (unsure) but less than alcohol.
Sterile saline is better than sterile water because something about salt really helps clean blood
Saline is just sterile salt water (0.9% salt)
sterile water is different from distilled water.
idk what it is about salt clearing off blood so easily, but when it comes to cleaning blood off my patients fur I always go for saline instead of peroxide because I think it cleans better and the reaction between peroxide and blood releases heat (exothermic if you want to throw that word in cuz you know. team phantom is full of nerds) and peroxide leaves a brown stain.
alcohol burns like hell as an antiseptic
Has a short contact time of 30s-1m but evaporates faster than that if too thin of layer is applied
contact time is the time an antiseptic needs to sit for it to be effective
Can dry out skin too much if used too frequently
chlorhex or iodine are better (see ifak notes for more info on antiseptics)
dont rice injuries - this is the instructor of my bleeding control class
You don’t have this in your fic but just in case
There’s no proof that elevation helps stop bleeding
Another thing you don’t have but just in case
Let me know if you want to know about CPR but won’t give you details unless you ask
pls don’t put CPR in your fic. I could not handle it 😭😭
also CPR is not as effective as movies make it seem
things that should be in dashs ifak aka the backpack he grabs in chapter 7:
ifak is an individual first aid kit (gotta teach you all the cool medical lingo too)
Tourniquet
if you are going for details a CAT tourniquet ONLY
can be helpful if dash runs out of flush, his stock gets contaminated, or punctured (from being too close to ghost fight) then can use tourniquet to stop venom from spreading
improvised tourniquets are no good
99% fail rate
can elaborate more if you want but this note is already long
gauze
no tampons
there are so many different types of gauze!
combat gauze (clotting)
compressed gauze
rolled gauze
woven gauze
nonwoven gauze
Antiseptic
Chlorhex (solution)
Must be diluted
2 minute contact time
chlorhex burns a lil but not nearly as much as alcohol
its a good antiseptic cuz it binds to the skin
There are two different types
chlorhex solution (no soap) for open wounds
scrub (soap version) for cleaning skin that is about to be poked
Not entirely necessary for blood draws (alcohol will do)
More for surgery prep, intravenous catheters, stabbing into chest to release air, or giving something in a vein
always follow up with a wipe of saline cuz it can damage skin if contact time is too long. iodine does not need this.
Will damage eyes so no good for head/face wounds
Iodine
Must be diluted
1 minute contact time (but starts working after 30 seconds)
Doesnt burn
Does stain skin brown/yellow (goes away with time)
Use for all head/face wounds bc will not damage eyes
Vinegar
Must be diluted
Only use as an absolutely last resource
But would use before alcohol for deep large wounds to minimize pain
Scissors
gloves! (i dont think dash ever puts on gloves?)
Non latex ideally cuz people are commonly allergic
regular bandaids
bandage tape
compression wrap (not ace bandage but similar. ace bandages get tighter over time so they aren’t recommended for wound care cuz too tight = not great blood flow)
regular water bottles (for drinking)
Sharpie
For labeling
Most important one i can think of is labeling the time when a tourniquet is applied
cold pack
ibu/tylenol
chest seals
in case dannys chest ever gets injured (not me wanting dash to cut dannys shirt off)
These are expensive
The goal with an ifak is to not over pack and to pack efficiently so things can be easily accessed. So think about what can fit into dash’s bag and what he can physically carry and still be agile/not fatigue for long journeys
live reactions / overall thoughts:
love that both dash and danny use pretty to describe each other
dash commenting on how dirty schools are and worrying his dog will get sick from school germs 🖤
calling bacteria little creatures 🖤🖤🖤
sam making sure the sink was properly rinsed so danny wouldnt get hurt 🖤
dash bouncing on his toes!! 😭🖤
dash and danny being domestic and cooking together 😭🖤
“the cold water felt nice on the inside of his lungs” god i need this
your scene of danny freeing emma also reminds me of a scene in face my demons, i wont hide
when Danny’s dad first went “whats on your face”, I thought he had ectoplasm on his face, and they were about to go apeshit on him for releasing their ghost
danny closing his book to give dash his full attention on phone call 😭😭😭😭🖤
danny getting butterflies over dash listening to his space rants 🥰🥰🖤🖤🖤
loosing my SHIT! danny putting reggie in his place!! Not only was it absolutely ADORABLE but I feel like Danny appreciated this on so many levels. Not everyone wants to know the creepy facts of a special interest and having someone remember them and seek them out for a separate convo they arent a part of is VERY SPECIAL. kinda similar feeling about my job. i love it but sometimes i forget my audience and get looks like
(continued from last bullet)
I appreciate this scene. so. much.
i’m very excited to tell you about wound care cuz i don’t get to talk about it outside of work a lot. I’m not gonna get into the nitty gritty of details of what a wound looks like (unless you want me to!)
I also love teaching so please ask as many questions as you want.
dash being proud of danny putting reggie in his place with space facts 🥰🥰🥰🥰🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
lmao danny still thinking he MIGHT be in trouble when he was basically just
Before, during, and after his call with dash. buddy. you ARE in trouble.
janice wanting dash to date danny so she can have a space buddy 😭😭😭🖤
dashs grandma 😭😭🖤🖤
was this
to say there is a lack of love between jack and maddie? like a reference to your overall theme of orpheus and eurydice
DANNY COMMENTING ON THE WARMTH OF DASHS HANDS AS HES DYING 😭😭😭 fuck me up
"warm strong hands pushed him back down into the soft covers" 🖤🖤🖤🖤
(me realizing why i love your dash so much. hes a gentle ace medic. hes me. or at least who i am trying to be. though i would not be described as strong. i love him)
lol dash saying “do you see the hours my mom works” is very accurate. nurse hours suck even if during the day. 12 hour shifts drain you and take a while to get used to. but that means taking 1 week off you get 11 days off (work 3 days a week)
would LOVE to see a scene where danny is healing and dash is taking care of him and he tries to kiss dash (not their first intentional kiss) and dash stops him going “careful. we need to keep your heart rate down or your wound will reopen” AHAHHD SJFBSHABD i would simply DIE. (phantom #2 lol) dash could also say something like “easy there ghost boy” like this scene in the amazing spiderman. i would just
I mean I already am tbh
Take or leave anything you want! This was fun to put together and I enjoy talking to you about your fic 🖤🖤
Things I Did Well:
Yay! 💚💚💚Thank you! It bugs me a lot when I watch movies or shows or whatnot and they just wash the super-poisoning stuff over healthy skin, like wouldn’t it just cause more issues instead of helping?????
Honestly thank god for ghost powers cause I don’t know enough about how to fix things without them
Containing biohazards saves lives
Always restock your first aid kit. I go hiking a lot and this has literally bit me in the ass a few times when I’ve forgotten to do it lol
I have POTS so the hard to breathe thing and I are very good friends, blood circulation issues are my greatest enemy. Keeping people laying down to maintain good circulation (that’s also not rushing blood straight to the wound) is also something I’m familiar with as I personally end up on the ground to regulate heart rate and breathing all the time.
Clean utensils every time!!!!!! 👏👏Honestly, lint didn’t even cross my mind as being an issue, I will think of this moving forward.
Dash is really putting those therapy skills to use 💪💪💪💚
Wound Care:
I thought about using tourniquets but I wasn’t sure if 1) I could write them well enough 2) if Dash’s first aid kits would have stuff for it or if he would even know how to so something that extensive. His mom taught him a lot of basics but I wasn’t sure if that was considered a basic.
But as time goes on and he gets more used to be Danny’s go to nurse, I’m sure he’s going to educate himself more on how to do more advanced things so this is super helpful to know.
I did not know there were so many different kinds of gauze; I have learned something today.✍️ I’ll probably do more research into what makes most sense for Dash to be carrying around
I read the word Iodine and had so many flashbacks to my childhood, that smell is permanently ingrained into my nostrils. Tbh I really should have thought about antiseptics more but I figured Danny heals well enough that they probably weren’t the most important thing to worry about after getting the poison off and stopping the blood. I definitely should think more about them though
Big Wound:
I did have notes on this somewhere and I cannot find them. It had something to do with his human biology cause for full ghosts the antibiotics work just fine. I also just kind of wanted to avoid having a miracle drug that could fix everything without having to put the actual work into it. So that was kind of my way of insinuating that fixing the wound is still important. I will refigure this out. TBH the venom wasn’t supposed to make so many reappearances and have a plot, I kind of patch worked it together as I solidified more headcanons and put this story together. It was supposed to be short and it it not lol
I can see how I wrote this weird now. My thought process was with so much bleeding the vast majority of the venom would have been pushed out with the blood and their main focus was to clean around it and get the edge off and where the blood touched but they didn’t want the water running uncontrolled and pushing the venom back into the wound or getting it on the healthy skin around it. Definitely did not convey aunty of that in the writing though my bad.
I’ll be honest, didn’t think about how antibiotics actually worked on that lol I just figured a liquid would be the easiest thing for them to make and understand. I’m sure Sam could administer a needle medication if she needed to, but with her freaking out I’m not sure she’d be the best at it.
Overall
I never thought of looking for Saline outside of a hospital TBH. I literally have contact solution in my house and was like “Where would someone obtain saline????” I’m a silly goose.🪿 I mainly went with distilled water because they’re more likely to have a lot of it and with so many wounds I figured they’d need a lot of liquid to wash something off. I will do some saline research though and see what the price and availability of stuff were back then
I wasn’t planning on CPR, I don’t really care for those scenes in movies and I don’t know enough about it to even know what kind of injury Danny could get that would require it
Ifak Backpack
Honestly, bless this information. Would you mind if I used this to sneak a joke in? I was reading this and at some items, I was like “when would they even need that?” and I have a scene where Danny goes through the bag and I think this could make for some great comic relief if that’s alright?
And no, homeboy did not use gloves, first time because he’s a ghost it didn’t occur to him and the second time, there was no time and he was trying to understand how the ghost powers worked to see what he needed to do. He would definitely use gloves if it wasn’t Danny getting hurt though
I appreciate you telling me what everything is for. Just had a hilarious moment of “Wait, why a sharpie?” *reads next bullet point “Oh! Duh! 🤦🏼♀️Glad that was here to tell me” I was about to ask a coworker and look really silly lol
Live reaction etc:
They’re both hopeless romantics what can i say💚🧡
Schools are disgusting. 🤢
Oooooh I now have something to read!!!
I didn’t mean to make Danny’s dad so aggressive about it, but I just really don’t like Jack and I think it maybe shows. I thought about the ectoplasm that got on him but considering stuff goes away when he transforms I figure ghost powers would have gotten rid of it
Dash is very proud of his creepy space obsessed (future) boyfriend. I’m a horror nerd so I’ll casually talk about things like cannibalism or you know dissection and people do the same thing. “Well, I was gonna eat and now I can’t stop thinking about cannibals. So thanks” like oops my bad, forget that bothers people
If you want to get into gritty details please do. I’m about to have burn wounds show up, like mild electric burns and google only gives me extremes so if you would like to explain I’m all ears👂👂
Those gifs made me chuckle, that’s exactly how he was lmao
I don’t necessarily think there is a lack of love, just the Jack is overall very oblivious about the people around him while Maddie isn’t. I don’t think Jack thinks too hard about how his actions and words affect other people. If anybody matches each other’s freaks it’s Jack and Maddie. Honestly they probably would be decently good people if they weren’t parents. It’s how they treat their kids (both, both kids) that give me major ick and think they aren’t the best people
Homie just likes being warm considering he isn’t lol
( we love to see it. Dash is doing his best to be gentle now too. Though he’s mostly strong cause he’s a gym bro who plays sports. We love our gentle ace medics 💚🖤🩶🤍💜)
I freaking love spiderman oh my gosh! I might have to write a short story for this lmao
Honestly, this made my day, thank you so much for this! I giggled and kicked my feet a lot lol Thanks for taking the time to write this 🥰🥰😊🤭🤗🥹🙈
#I've never had to work asks before so sorry if I fucked this up lol#been lurking on tumblr for 10+ years and never had to work an ask box#ehehehehe thank you

Understanding POTS and the Role of Hydration IVs in Symptom Management

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) is a condition characterized by an abnormal increase in heart rate that occurs after sitting up or standing. This sudden increase can lead to a variety of debilitating symptoms, including dizziness, fatigue, heart palpitations, lightheadedness, chest pain, nausea, and even fainting. These symptoms can significantly impact daily activities and overall quality of life.
POTS is often triggered by factors that affect blood volume and circulation. These can include dehydration, prolonged bed rest, surgery, trauma, viral illnesses, or significant changes in hormonal levels, such as those experienced during pregnancy or menopause. Autoimmune conditions and genetic predispositions can also play a role in the development of POTS.
Diagnosing POTS can be challenging due to the variability of symptoms and their overlap with other conditions. Many patients endure a lengthy and frustrating journey of multiple doctor visits and tests before receiving an accurate diagnosis. The diagnostic process often involves a detailed medical history, a physical examination, and specific tests such as the tilt table test, which measures the heart rate and blood pressure responses to changes in posture.
One effective strategy for managing POTS symptoms is the use of hydration IVs. These intravenous treatments deliver fluids directly into the bloodstream, providing immediate and efficient hydration. For individuals with POTS, staying well-hydrated is crucial, as it helps maintain blood volume and reduce the severity of symptoms associated with orthostatic intolerance.
Hydration IVs can include electrolytes and essential minerals, which are vital for maintaining proper cardiovascular function and overall health. By replenishing these nutrients quickly, hydration IVs can help stabilize blood pressure, improve circulation, and reduce the frequency of dizzy spells and fatigue. This form of therapy can be particularly beneficial during flare-ups or in situations where oral hydration is insufficient.
Incorporating hydration IV therapy into a broader treatment plan for POTS can provide significant relief and enhance quality of life. As always, it’s important to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the most appropriate and effective treatment options tailored to individual needs.
In addition to hydration IV therapy, there are several other treatment options for managing POTS symptoms. These include:
Increased Salt Intake: Consuming more salt can help retain water and increase blood volume, which may alleviate some symptoms of POTS. This should be done under medical supervision to avoid potential complications.
Compression Garments: Wearing compression stockings or abdominal binders can help improve blood flow and reduce pooling in the legs, thus minimizing dizziness and fainting.
Medications: Various medications can be prescribed to help manage POTS symptoms.
Physical Therapy: A structured, graduated exercise program can help improve cardiovascular fitness and reduce POTS symptoms over time. This often includes a combination of strength training and aerobic exercises.
Lifestyle Modifications: Making lifestyle changes such as avoiding prolonged standing, rising slowly from sitting or lying positions, and consuming small, frequent meals can help manage symptoms.
Dietary Adjustments: Eating a balanced diet rich in nutrients, staying hydrated, and avoiding triggers like caffeine and alcohol can support overall health and reduce symptom severity.
Counseling and Support Groups: Psychological support can be beneficial for coping with the chronic nature of POTS. Therapy and support groups can provide emotional support and practical tips for managing the condition.
It’s essential to work closely with a healthcare provider who understands the complexity of POTS and will help you to develop a comprehensive, individualized treatment plan that addresses the specific needs and symptoms. Dr. Jade at Amber Wellness Group supports patient with POTS and can explore the benefits of IV therapy for symptom management.

How to clear up low blood pressure

If you're experiencing low blood pressure, also known as hypotension, there are several strategies you can try to help alleviate the symptoms. However, it's important to note that if you have persistent or severe low blood pressure, it's crucial to consult with a healthcare professional for a proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Here are some general tips that may help:
Increase fluid intake: Dehydration can contribute to low blood pressure, so make sure you're drinking enough water throughout the day. Aim for at least eight glasses of water daily, or more if you engage in physical activity or during hot weather.
Increase salt intake: Sodium helps to retain water and can help increase blood pressure. However, it's important to consult with your doctor before increasing your salt intake, especially if you have underlying health conditions like hypertension or kidney problems.
Wear compression stockings: Compression stockings help improve circulation and prevent blood from pooling in the legs, which can help raise blood pressure. These stockings are available in different compression levels, so it's advisable to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the right fit and pressure for you.
Avoid sudden position changes: Slowly change positions, especially when moving from lying down to standing up. This helps prevent a sudden drop in blood pressure due to orthostatic hypotension.
Eat smaller, frequent meals: Large meals can cause a temporary drop in blood pressure, particularly after eating carbohydrate-rich foods. Opt for smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day to help stabilize blood pressure.
Limit alcohol consumption: Alcohol can lower blood pressure, so it's advisable to drink in moderation or avoid it altogether, depending on your specific circumstances.
Avoid prolonged standing: If you experience symptoms of low blood pressure, try to avoid prolonged periods of standing without breaks. If you must stand for an extended period, try to shift your weight from one leg to another or move around periodically to improve circulation.
Exercise regularly: Regular physical activity helps improve cardiovascular health and can help regulate blood pressure. Engage in moderate exercise such as walking, swimming, or cycling, but consult your doctor before starting any new exercise regimen.
Manage stress: Chronic stress can affect blood pressure levels. Implement stress-management techniques such as deep breathing exercises, meditation, yoga, or engaging in activities that you enjoy to help reduce stress.
Review medications: Certain medications can lower blood pressure. If you suspect that your medication might be contributing to low blood pressure, consult your doctor for a potential adjustment or alternative options.
Remember, these suggestions are not intended as a substitute for medical advice. It's crucial to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the underlying cause of your low blood pressure and develop an appropriate treatment plan.

Understanding Compression Equipment for Legs: Types, Benefits, and Uses
Maintaining proper blood circulation in the lower limbs is essential, especially for individuals at risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), swelling, or poor circulation. Compression equipment for legs plays a vital role in managing these conditions effectively. From sequential compression devices to DVT leg compression devices, understanding their use and purpose can help in choosing the right option for specific needs.
What Is Compression Equipment for Legs?
Compression equipment for legs refers to garments or medical devices designed to apply pressure to the lower limbs. This pressure helps enhance blood flow, reduce swelling, and prevent clot formation. These devices are commonly used in medical settings or for recovery after surgery or intensive physical activity.
Compression garments such as socks or stockings are used for mild support, whereas mechanical devices like sequential compression devices (SCDs) and DVT leg compression devices are more advanced and often prescribed in clinical scenarios.
How a Sequential Compression Device for Legs Works
A sequential compression device for legs is a type of pneumatic compression system that uses air pressure to apply rhythmic compression to the legs. This device consists of cuffs that wrap around the legs and are connected to a pump. The cuffs inflate and deflate in a set sequence, imitating the natural muscle contractions that push blood back toward the heart.
This sequential action not only boosts venous return but also reduces the likelihood of blood pooling, which is particularly beneficial for bedridden patients or those recovering from surgery. Hospitals commonly use these devices to help prevent DVT in immobile patients.
The Role of a DVT Leg Compression Device
A DVT leg compression device is specifically designed to prevent deep vein thrombosis, a serious condition where blood clots form in the deep veins of the legs. These devices work by delivering intermittent pressure that promotes blood circulation, reducing the chances of clot development.
Unlike compression stockings, DVT compression devices are often automated and deliver controlled pressure in cycles. They are particularly effective for individuals with limited mobility or a known history of clotting disorders. Regular use can contribute to better venous health and minimize the risk of complications.
Benefits and Applications of Compression Equipment
Compression equipment for legs is not limited to hospital use. Athletes, long-distance travelers, and people with jobs that involve prolonged standing or sitting can also benefit from using compression garments or pneumatic devices.
Some of the key advantages include:
Reduced swelling and fluid retention
Prevention of blood clots in high-risk individuals
Enhanced muscle recovery post-exercise
Pain relief in conditions like varicose veins and lymphedema
Whether using simple compression socks or a more advanced sequential compression device for legs, the goal remains consistent—supporting healthy blood flow and preventing complications.
Conclusion
Compression equipment for legs plays an important role in maintaining lower limb health, especially in scenarios involving poor circulation or a risk of clotting. Devices such as the sequential compression device for legs and the DVT leg compression device are engineered to improve venous return and reduce medical risks for those in need. Selecting the appropriate device depends on the individual’s condition and lifestyle, with options ranging from everyday compression wear to hospital-grade equipment. Consistent use, under proper guidance, can support long-term leg health and circulation

How Improving Lymphatic Function Could Alleviate Swelling in Heart Failure Patients

Swelling in the legs, ankles, and even the lungs is a common issue for people with heart failure. This swelling, known as edema, happens when excess fluid builds up in the body due to poor circulation. While most treatments focus on medications and lifestyle changes, improving lymphatic function can also play a key role in reducing edema.
Understanding the Lymphatic System and Its Role in Edema
The lymphatic system is responsible for draining excess fluids from tissues and returning them to the bloodstream. When this system doesn’t work well, fluid accumulates, leading to swelling. In heart failure patients, the heart struggles to pump blood efficiently, causing fluid retention. This is where lymphatic drainage can help by promoting fluid removal and reducing swelling.
How Lymphatic Drainage Can Help Heart Failure Patients
Improving lymphatic drainage can offer several benefits for people dealing with cardiac edema:
Reduces Fluid Retention: By improving lymph flow, excess fluid is cleared more efficiently, reducing swelling in the legs and other areas.
Enhances Circulation: A properly functioning lymphatic system supports better blood flow, easing pressure on the heart.
Supports Immune Function: The lymphatic system also plays a role in immunity, helping to clear toxins and waste from the body.
Eases Discomfort: Less swelling means reduced pain and improved mobility for patients.
Natural Ways to Improve Lymphatic Function
Many methods can help stimulate the lymphatic system naturally:
1. Exercise and Movement
Regular physical activity, such as walking or gentle stretching, encourages the lymphatic system to drain excess fluids. Simple activities like leg lifts or ankle pumps can prevent fluid buildup in the lower body.
2. Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
This is a gentle massage technique that helps move fluid from swollen areas toward lymph nodes for drainage. A trained therapist or a cardiology doctor in Bhubaneswar can guide patients on safe techniques to use at home.
3. Deep Breathing Exercises
Slow, deep breaths help stimulate lymphatic circulation and improve oxygen flow, which can be beneficial for heart failure patients.
4. Staying Hydrated
Drinking enough water supports the lymphatic system in flushing out excess fluids and toxins.
5. Compression Therapy
Wearing compression stockings can help prevent fluid buildup in the legs and improve circulation.
6. Balanced Diet
A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and low-sodium foods can reduce fluid retention and improve lymphatic function.
Medical Approaches to Support Lymphatic Drainage
In some cases, medical intervention may be necessary to improve lymphatic function. A cardiology doctor in Bhubaneswar may recommend specialized treatments such as:
Diuretics: Medications that help the body remove excess fluid.
Lymphatic Therapy: Professional treatments that promote fluid movement.
Cardiac Rehabilitation Programs: Supervised programs that combine exercise, diet, and lifestyle changes to support heart and lymphatic health.
Conclusion
Lymphatic drainage is an often-overlooked but essential aspect of managing cardiac edema. By improving lymph flow through natural methods and medical treatments, heart failure patients can experience significant relief from swelling and discomfort. If you or a loved one is dealing with fluid retention, consulting a specialist can help you find the best strategies for long-term relief.

Comparison of pathophysiology of CVI and DVT The pathogenesis of CVI is not completely understood; however, it's based on both venous reflux and obstruction; or an amalgamation of the two. Though venous reflux is actually based on a number of mechanisms, the key elements are venous valve ineffectiveness, vessel wall swelling, hemodynamic elements and additionally venous hypertension. These systems could be further exasperated by dysfunctional pumping devices (vascular and/or muscle pump), for example, in inert patients or even individuals with stiff joints (Goerge and Santler, 2017). Similarly, Deep Venous Thrombosis (DVT) is actually blood clotting in a deep vein of a limb (normally pelvis or the thigh or calf). Low-level extremity DVT frequently results from damaged venous return (for instance, in inert patients), endothelial injury or even dysfunction (for example post fractures of leg) as well as, hypercoagulability. Concurrently, upper-level extremity DVT frequently outcomes from endothelial injury because of pacemakers, central venous catheters, or perhaps injection drug usage (Douketis, 2016). Describe how venous thrombosis differs from arterial thrombosis. Particularly, arterial thrombosis is considered to be triggered by activation of platelet, while venous thrombosis is basically a situation of clotting-system activation (Prandoni, 2009). Explain how the patient factor you selected could impact the pathophysiology of DVT and CVI. Inherited thrombophilia gene mutations are actually recognized to experience a contributory role in VTE occurrence that is scientifically established by DVT. Based on research, the occurrence of Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) differs in races that are different. A number of studies have been carried out with the aim to investigate genetic risk elements that lead to DVT in various populations. Moreover, greater prevalence of 4G allele can also been seen in patients undergoing DVT; mostly in the South Asian population (Hosseini, Kalantar, Hosseini, Tabibian, Dorgalaleh and Shamsizadeh, 2015). Prolonged Venous ailment is extremely common in the developed world, with varicose veins behaving as the most typical form of clinical expression. With latest developments in sequencing systems, geneticists and clinicians alike are starting out on experiments to determine and disentangle the genetic applicants of prolonged venous ailments. There's now currently significant evidence to propose the existence of genetic effects in the pathology and aetiology of venous ailments (Grant, Davies and Onida, 2017). Describe how you would diagnose and prescribe treatment of these conditions for a patient depending on the factor you selected. Magnetic Resonance Venography (MRV) diagnostic process may be used that amalgamates radio frequencies, a big magnet, along with at least one computer to create comprehensive images of bodily structures and organs. An MRV make use of magnetic resonance systems as well as intravenous (IV) contrast dye to envision the veins. Contrast dye leads to the blood vessels becoming obscure in an x ray, enabling the physician to review the blood vessels under examination. MRV can additionally help identify reasons leading to leg pain apart from vein issues. It is suggested that people suffering from chronic venous insufficiency make use of compression stockings that exert sustained pressure to the leg. It increases blood circulation and also stops blood from flowing backwards, therefore lessen theswelling (Chronic Venous Insufficiency, n.d). The physician’s diagnose of DVT is centered on patient health background, an thorough examination, as well as the test results. The patient is going to identify risk elements and rule out some other reasons for DVT signs. Ultrasound is actually probably the most typical test for identifying deep layered blood clotting. Ultrasound make use of sound waves to produce imagery of blood moving throughout the veins and arteries in the area being tested. DVT is actually treated with some products and medicines as well as therapies. Anticoagulants are the most typical medications used for the treatment of DVT. They are also referred to as blood thinning medications. These medicines lower one’s blood's potential to clot. Additionally, they stop existing blood clots from increasing (NIH Medline Plus, 2011). How to Reduce Varicocele and Varicose Veins with Homeopathy
Naturally Treating Varicocele & Varicose Veins through Homeopathy and Lifestyle Management
Varicocele and varicose veins are general health issues that impact numerous individuals across the globe. Although both these conditions can be treated using surgery or other conventional medical methods, homeopathy and lifestyle modification, such as exercise, are useful, natural options. The following article discusses how to lower varicose veins and varicocele symptoms with homeopathic varicocele natural remedies, and considers whether or not exercise may be used to control these conditions.
Understanding Varicocele and Varicose Veins
Prior to talking about treatments, one must know what varicocele and varicose veins are. Both diseases involve the swelling of veins, which leads to blood accumulation in the veins rather than normal circulation. This leads to pain, discomfort, and cosmetic issues.
Varicocele is a condition where the veins of the scrotum become swollen. It mostly occurs in men and can lead to pain, swelling, and even infertility in some. Varicose veins result when veins, most commonly in the legs, widen and become distorted as a result of damaged or weakened valves. This results in bulging veins that can be seen, pain, heaviness, swelling, and cramping in the vein.
Both conditions have a major impact on an individual's quality of life, and many seek relief. Homeopathic varicocele treatment without surgery and natural lifestyle measures, such as exercise, can ease the symptoms and, in some instances, decrease the severity of these conditions without surgery.
Homeopathy: A Natural Approach to Varicocele and Varicose Veins
Homeopathy is an alternative medicine that involves the use of highly diluted products to trigger the body's healing mechanisms. Homeopathic treatment is tailored to the patient's health and symptoms. Homeopathy is focused on curing the underlying cause of the disease and not just the symptoms.
Exercise and Its Role in Managing Varicose Veins and Varicocele
Exercise is important in the treatment of both varicocele and varicose veins. Regular exercise along with varicocele natural treatment can enhance circulation, alleviate swelling, and build up the muscles that help hold the veins together.
Exercise for Varicocele
In patients with varicocele, physical exercise can also be beneficial in enhancing circulation and palliating discomfort. Low-impact exercise like walking, swimming, and cycling are good options since they enhance circulation without stressing the compromised veins beyond their capabilities. Heavy weight training and high-impact activities that put a lot of intra-abdominal pressure should, however, be avoided since they would enhance symptoms. However, if you want to reduce these symptoms, and want a natural cure, then you are advised to go with a homeopathy to cure varicocele naturally.
Certain exercises like pelvic floor exercises can also strengthen the muscles of the scrotum, which may reduce some of the pressure on the veins. It is important to consult a healthcare professional before beginning any exercise program to prevent worsening of the condition.
Exercise for Varicose Veins
Regular physical exercise is perhaps the best solution to treat and even avoid varicose veins. Exercise aids in improving circulation, lowering swelling, and making the muscles of the legs stronger, which helps alleviate varicose veins. Cardiovascular exercises such as walking, jogging, and swimming are good options for people with varicose veins.
Also, leg elevation exercises and certain leg stretches along with the best varicocele treatment can decrease pressure on the veins. It is also advisable to avoid standing or sitting for long hours and take regular breaks to walk around. While exercising, it is important to wear compression stockings if your doctor recommends it, as they can control symptoms and enhance circulation.
Diagnosing Varicocele and Varicose Veins: Role of a Specialist
If you think you have varicocele or varicose veins, you should get the right diagnosis from a health professional. For varicocele, the physical exam should suffice, but your physician might also order an ultrasound for a more detailed examination of the veins of the scrotum. Varicose veins are diagnosed with a physical exam and in some cases may need ultrasound imaging to evaluate the severity and extent of the condition. For anyone keen on non-surgical methods, such as homeopathy, seeking an expert who combines homeopathic cure varicocele without surgery and regular medical treatment can offer a comprehensive strategy. A varicocele expert or vascular expert can offer advice on how best to treat your case and investigate natural remedies such as homeopathy.
Getting a Proper Varicocele Specialist in Your Area
If you need an exprt to take you through the treatment process, begin by seeking varicocele specialist near me. Seek one specializing in vascular care or urology, preferably the treatment of varicocele. Most physicians today include alternate treatment such as homeopathy into their practice, so it will be a wise decision to search for a specialist familiar with traditional as well as natural treatments.
Conclusion
Varicocele and varicose veins are conditions that can be controlled and don't necessarily need surgery. Varicocele treatment in homeopathy is a safe and effective method for lessening symptoms and healing. Exercise can help improve blood flow, reduce swelling, and ease pain associated with varicocele. This is important to consider when treating varicocele with homeopathy. If natural treatment is in consideration, always consult with a health provider to make sure that the method that you're choosing is right for your unique situation. Whether you're seeking an effective varicocele specialist in your area or wishing to alleviate varicose veins naturally, a holistic method using homeopathy and exercise can bring significant relief and a general sense of well-being.
