I feel like Tumblr is the only place I can get Grumbo content... like the algorithm is so good on here because I can just filter through tags. As for things like pinterest and tiktok, I'll get random, like scarian or other ships I'm not interested in because I just like the Grian tag or something. Annddddd it reallllyyyy sucks.

Something I never got about Octavinelle x fem reader is the idea that the trio don't know what boobs are or just... anything about afab humans at all. It makes no sense.

They literally attended a boot camp before NRC (which I personally headcanon to last a year because there's a lot to learn) to learn about humans, beastmen and fae, and life on land? Huh?

The general argument for this is that there's no need to learn about it because NRC is an all boys school, which makes no sense at all because 1: that doesn't mean there can't be trans students, 2: the town on Sage Island most certainly does not only have amab inhabitants, and 3: Azul plans to expand his business on land and has said multiple times he does thorough research about land, which will include his potential customers- and something I've learned while taking Hospitality is that things like career and gender are taken into consideration when planning special meals or menus.

Idk, maybe I'm complaining too much, but I just don't like these kinds of fics because it always involves one or all of the trio grabbing reader's chest without her permission and squishing/pulling, which is sexual harassment and it makes me uncomfortable, especially since it's treated as a joke and any discomfort that reader may have is laughed off.

What do you guys think?

look computational psychiatry is a concept with a certain amount of cursed energy trailing behind it, but I'm really getting my ass chapped about a fundamental flaw in large scale data analysis that I've been complaining about for years. Here's what's bugging me:

When you're trying to understand a system as complex as behavioral tendencies, you cannot substitute large amounts of "low quality" data (data correlating more weakly with a trait of interest, say, or data that only measures one of several potential interacting factors that combine to create outcomes) for "high quality" data that inquiries more deeply about the system.

The reason for that is this: when we're trying to analyze data as scientists, we leave things we're not directly interrogating as randomized as possible on the assumption that either there is no main effect of those things on our data, or that balancing and randomizing those things will drown out whatever those effects are.

But the problem is this: sometimes there are not only strong effects in the data you haven't considered, but also they correlate: either with one of the main effects you do know about, or simply with one another.

This means that there is structure in your data. And you can't see it, which means that you can't account for it. Which means whatever your findings are, they won't generalize the moment you switch to a new population structured differently. Worse, you are incredibly vulnerable to sampling bias because the moment your sample fails to reflect the structure of the population you're up shit creek without a paddle. Twin studies are notoriously prone to this because white and middle to upper class twins are vastly more likely to be identified and recruited for them, because those are the people who respond to study queries and are easy to get hold of. GWAS data, also extremely prone to this issue. Anything you train machine learning datasets like ChatGPT on, where you're compiling unbelievably big datasets to try to "train out" the noise.

These approaches presuppose that sampling depth is enough to "drown out" any other conflicting main effects or interactions. What it actually typically does is obscure the impact of meaningful causative agents (hidden behind conflicting correlation factors you can't control for) and overstate the value of whatever significant main effects do manage to survive and fall out, even if they explain a pitiably small proportion of the variation in the population.

It's a natural response to the wondrous power afforded by modern advances in computing, but it's not a great way to understand a complex natural world.

What I seriously do not understand about books being made into tv shows is why are there only 8 episodes?? Like there is so much content in 300+ page books and you’re going to cherry pick the storyline?? And don’t get me started on how LONG it takes now in between seasons to release. Gilmore Girls has 40 minute episodes and there are 22 in each season and that is WITHOUT having a book to base the storyline on. Make it make sense bruh.

Can we normalize not writing smut about our favorite characters? Cause I just went to find a Steve Rogers x reader fic, and it's all smut. I genuinely just want a boring little romance with a hint of actually marvel content in there. I am extremely picky about anime because my patience for anime bullshit is incredibly low, so I've only ever watched a handful of them and I've only ever watched one all the way through (Soul Eater) but I have zoology degree and work at a zoo so I obviously have watched the Furry Anime(tm) (Beastars).

I love the animation style and music, but I definitely have some issues with the writing. But I'm not here to talk about that. I'm here to complain about exactly one big nitpick I have because I'm a nerd about animal morphology.

So throughout the anime I feel like some of the herbivore species are portrayed as inherently really weak compared to carnivorous species, which is kind of bs if you think about it. Like I get it, a sheep and a bunny aren't going to stand up to something like a lion or a grizzly bear, and there are also examples of herbivores being able to stand up to predators (herbivores in the police force, the crime fighting horse that kills lions, etc.). My point is that a lot of herbivorous species could absolutely kick a carnivore's ass, no guns required.

My biggest issue, however, is with Louis, canonically a red deer, being portrayed as a skinny little twink compared to a grey wolf. I get it, it's part of the conflict he's dealing with, but also red deer are fucking HUGE.

Look at this fucking thing. It's a deer the size of an elk. Males can weigh up to 530 pounds while male grey wolves are around 180 at the absolute largest. A single grey wolf isn't gonna take one of these guys down without getting seriously hurt by those antlers and hooves. Wolves can take down adult moose, but only in a relatively large pack. They're also close to twice the height of an adult male grey wolf (around 51 in at the shoulder). Louis should be towering over Legosi, even with him being abnormally tall for a wolf. If they wanted a smaller, weaker deer I'd say make Louis a whitetail deer or fallow deer, not one of the largest deer species in the world.

Anyway yeah Louis should not be portrayed as a twink imo and he could kick the gay wolf's ass like 9 times out of ten. The guy should look like a gym bro or something.

Don’t Watch Anything Dealing with Class of 09 (FLIPSIDE) If You Like Jecka

Like, I really like Jecka’s Character…

The whole reason why I even watched anything concerning Flipside was to finally see her get a happy ending. To finally see her grow out of being with Nicole and better herself…

But she doesn’t get even one good ending..

And this game sucks all the way to hell…

The foot fetish stuff? And the trafficking ending?

Like come ON man! Its like the creator unloaded all of his weird fetishes into this just for the hell of it.

Not to mention the controversy that has come up for the creator just as Flipside came out..

I originally liked Class of 09 because of its dark humor.

It was ironic. All the kids suffering and none of the adults caring was a reality I faced in highschool. Class of 09 felt like a clever way to show this, while covering it up with the edgy dark humor of a sociopathic high school mean girl…

(I was bullied heavily by girls like that in high school, so it was refreshing to see the game show that the lives of those types of girls suck..and they cope or with their terrible lives by being mean to everyone..))

But now, it just feels like the creator made it to say all of the stuff he wish he could say out loud now.
