I feel profoundly bad for every rpg yet to come out this year that now has to compete with Metaphor: reFantazio.

I just saw a post of a FanArt of Richard Greyson winning gold medals at the Olympics…
so an idea comes to mind…
A crazy guy is stalking the US Olympic team, at first the classic letters from a disturbing stalker, worrying but not enough to do anything more than increase security and start an investigation, after all they are in the middle of the inauguration and there is not much that can be done…
they don't plan to cancel anything… until the truck where the athletes are leaving the event is sabotaged/attacked…
despite the vehicle overturning, most of them had a scare and some bruises… but there are several of them who were left with injuries that prevent them from continuing in the competition.
which should end with the withdrawal of some competitions by the United States… but luckily they meet some of the Wayne boys who came to see the event and they are willing to be substitutes, even if it's just to fill in the spots…
Meanwhile, the Batkids are taking some time off, and by unanimous decision (no one votes against Cas) they decide to go see the opening and some events of the Olympics, what they didn't expect was to find a case involving the Olympic team, where everything seems to point to someone within it, targeting other athletes.
So they decide to investigate from within.

ok so its kind of really annoying me that all these new dav companions have been mentioned/introduced in books/comics/whatever source materials outside of the games. like the default worldstate that bioware uses for those is one i so vehemently disagree with that i genuinely cant reconcile that the characters im supposed to be meeting for the first time in dav are “from” a world with such different endings to what i envision. like between that and removing what dragon age keep does for the new game its like ok so all the decisions i made were useless? ive been playing these games for almost a decade of my life and the parts of it i held dear are now something i should overlook?

Azul never thought a day would come where he was jealous of his own kind. The fact that you fawn over another octopus is not fair! He hates it! broke: whatever the master used to replace even's liver functions the same as a normal human liver (aside from the part where it'll. explode or something. if they don't let him tinker with it every once in a while.)
woke: superior liver functions. even can't get drunk anymore.
bespoke: this fucker did not bother to stick to human biology when fixing them. even now has the equivalent of time lord livers, which is much less sexy than time lord hearts and also means they can't eat anything with ginger in it without getting intoxicated. no one tells them this fact btw. (and also they'll still explode.)

hm i do think the discussion of whether sera would have been better in da2 is less about like whether she would like the setting/characters of the game and more of a reaction to the flaws in sera’s writing (look at her writer) and general flaws in inquisition as a whole. while obviously her role as a pov for the little guy is important and necessary, it is handled pretty poorly overall and the inquisitors super sonic rise to immense political power kind of means you never really get a chance to engage with sera on her ideas and worldview, even if the inquisitor is part of one of the groups that would be considered the little guy in most societies in thedas, so i think its fair to say that if sera was in a smaller scale game, with more concern for the social issues sera’s entire character is concerned with her character could feel stronger. ie a game like da2
#its less about sera not 'belonging' in inq and more a reaction to how she is incorporated in inq#which is to say not very well (again look at her writer)#and this isnt saying she'd be automatically incorporated better into da2 because that game is also really really flawed#like i think if the writers were more competent and had a clear message and tone for da:i we wouldn't be having this discussion#beyond funny companions swaps#just my opinion anyway
