#dailygrind ...#literally. Working on a vegetation control and land clearing project today down on Industrial Drive in Hamilton. This 6 acre lot was very tall and fairly thick. To handle the bulk of the cutting we used our #Bushcat attachment with a #t590. The thicker vegetation, like these Russian Olives, were handled with this beast ...a #t770 Forestry Cutter unit from @bobcatcompany. Realistically, this work was bush league (haha!) for this machine. Our Enhancement Team is at Appleby Place: Retirement Living by Revera today completing a garden makeover. Kelly is one our Team Leaders. Today was a good day to spend some time in the field and do some training. We had her run some loads of excavation to brush up on her machine operation and get some hours behind the controls. Adjacent to Appleby Village, Revera was looking for an upgrade that would look appealing from both the street side and the building and have great charateristic all year long. I was solo today in the Town of St Mary's installing a "mosaiculture" of our national flag for the war memorial and July 1st celebrations. A mosiaculture is the composition of carefully selected plant material to create a motif, image or sculpture. This isn't a true mosiaculture. It was relatively simple and I only used two types of annuals. Some mosiacultures take on vertical form like a topiary and contain several species of plants which are meticulously clipped and shaped to create the final piece.
