having a Paul and a Pepe maiden win in a back to back week feels so surreal and kinda overwhelming but oh my god I'm so proud of them 😭😭😭 it also gave me enough motivation to edit again (despite it being my finals week 🥲) ahhh, idk why but just experiencing these wins already makes me miss this F2 season, it's such a bittersweet feeling. but hopefully even better things come next year 💙✨

yes yes it's truly surreal! it's like the motorsport gods suddenly want to reward us for suffering though a long and difficult season? with pepaullie wins in the last three races??? we're so lucky 🥹🥹 and yes so so proud!! so happy and thankful that they all pushed through despite the hardships!!!!

A lot of people have asked me this and I think it’s about time I write something more detailed. So here’s:

PukeFactory’s Guide On Writing Dream BBQ ENA! (My Way)

1. She is a contradiction. Start there.

Dream BBQ ENA is a creature of duality, but not in the gimmicky way. Her emotions swing like a pendulum carved from glass—delicately unhinged. She will comfort you with a whisper like starlight one moment and then yell at a tree for looking at her weird the next. Her logic is surreal but never nonsensical. It’s sincere in a way that bends gravity. She means it, even when it makes no sense. “I think you’re a treasure map, but I lost the key, and also the concept of directions… but I still wanna follow you.”

2. Her voice is fragmented but honest.

Write ENA’s dialogue with a rhythm that feels like a glitched lullaby or a mixtape made of poems and outbursts. Use capitalizations, glitches, or dream-logic metaphors, but keep them emotionally grounded. “OH—oh no. Oh no I said the wrong thing. AGAIN. Hold on—REWIND, REWIND—Can I have a second take of that hug?”

Her speech patterns jump between:

• Soft and strangely poetic:

“You remind me of the feeling before lightning hits.”

• Loud and unfiltered:

“I ATE A ROCK OUT OF SPITE! I’D DO IT AGAIN IF IT MEANT YOU’D FORGIVE ME!”

3. She doesn’t understand relationships—but she craves connection.

ENA often sabotages closeness by accident. She’ll say something jarring mid-hug, not because she’s cruel, but because she doesn’t understand the rules. Intimacy terrifies her. Not because she doesn’t want it, but because she wants it too much. “Wait—was that love? Oh no. I thought it was just heartburn. Or like… something… BEYOND heartburn. Wait, come back!” She learns through interaction. She reflects. She messes up and tries again anyway. She’s endearing because she’s trying—not because she gets it right.

4. Her emotions are surreal landscapes.

Instead of saying “ENA is sad,” describe it like: “She paced in figure eights, muttering apologies to imaginary dogs and invisible moons. Her smile was brittle. Like candy glass.” Or instead of “she’s angry”: “Her eye twitched like a jammed film reel. She bared her teeth at the air, yelling something about betrayal and unripe peaches.” Dream BBQ ENA doesn’t feel things linearly. Her inner world is a Salvador Dalí painting on fire with longing.

5. Her body is unstable; use that.

Dream BBQ ENA’s body shifts and jerks. Her facial expressions glitch. Use this for emotional emphasis:

• When she’s anxious, maybe her smile freezes too long.

• When she’s excited, her voice pitch spikes into television static.

• When she’s afraid, her colors invert or her mouth refuses to close.

Her body is a mood ring coded by a trickster god. Let that reflect her emotional state in the scene.

6. She uses weird metaphors because reality doesn’t fit.

She compares people to:

• Clouds shaped like broken promises.

• Paintings that make her cry for no reason.

• Broken clocks that still tick in time with her heart.

Let her speak in beautiful nonsense. It’s not “random.” It’s instinctive, raw, and emotionally precise. “You’re like… a sunset that happened inside my lungs. You make it hard to breathe. I like it.”

7. She is not just a joke character.

Even when ENA is funny or awkward or loud, she is never just a punchline. There’s a quiet ache under everything she says. She was made to observe, to wander, to experience without truly belonging. Write her with that bittersweetness in mind. “I think I’m the kind of person who touches joy but drops it before it sticks. Like I’ve got oil on my fingers, or maybe I am the oil.”

8. Let her be messy. Let her be sincere.

She doesn’t always say the right thing. Sometimes she runs away instead of talking. Sometimes she laughs too loud at the wrong time. Sometimes she feels more like a glitch than a girl. But when she says “I love you”? She means it. She really, truly means it—even if it sounds like: “If you exploded right now, I’d collect all your little pieces and make a shrine. Because you matter. Because you always did.”

9. Tone: melancholic absurdity with heart.

Dream BBQ ENA lives in a world that feels like a dream and a fever. Your tone should balance whimsy with gravity, joy with grief, glitchy chaos with honest love. She is a reflection of people who feel too much and understand too little—but never stop trying to connect.

10. In summary…

• Speak in fragments, but write with intent.

• Let her emotions be surreal, shifting, and raw.

• Give her dialogue layers: poetic, jarring, sincere, awkward.

• She doesn’t understand love—but she chases it anyway.

• She’s not a clown. She’s a girl made of glitch and feeling and static and sweetness.

Hc time : to some degree, every toon suffers from anemoia (Nostalgia for a time or a place one has never known)

The toons often get nostalgic over something that only happened to their cartoon counterpart and then are left thinking "Oh right, that actually never happened-".

I think the ones that suffer the most from it are the 6 mains. There are multiple reasons for that, but I think the biggest one is that their friendship in the real world has never been as strong as their cartoon counterparts' bond. In one way or another, they envy them, and wish they could all have been just as close as they were in the show.

(Hopefully it isn't too long of an ask-)

While I mostly focus on the writing of the characters in total drama, probably because I myself am an aspiring writer, today I want to focus on the character designs. This is due to the girls in total drama having wildly different stylisation to the boys and I think that's an issue.

First off, I would like to clarify I do love most of the character designs in total drama, there are some I'm meh about but none I actively dislike. However, I do believe there is something that should be noted, specifically about the stylistic gap between the boys and the girls in the show. For simplicity's sake, I will only be discussing the island designs, however I may make some follow ups on the other casts talking about if the issue got better or worse.

There is a very obvious difference between the boys and the girls. With the boys, while a lot of them share a similar physique, not a single one of them has the same body types. The closest in physique is Duncan and Tyler, but even then Tyler's shoulders are less pointy and Duncan has a longer torso with shorter legs.

The girls on the other hand aren't so lucky, Gwen and Lindsay, excluding their chest, have the same body type. Heather and Katie have the same body type. Bridgette and Izzy, again, have the same body type the only difference being their chest. The only ones with fully unique body types are four out of the elven girls, compare that to (excluding chef and Chris who also have unique body types) elven out of eleven.

Okay so, what about faces? Again, with faces all the boys faces vary wildy in length, width and shape. Even their favorite face type being square/rectangle is expressed in different ways, with DJ being round, Noah being sharp and Trent being long and skinny. What about the girls? Well, Gwen, Lindsay, Courtney, Katie and Bridgette all have the same face shape.

What about facial features?

Boys all have unique noses. Meanwhile, Courtney, Heather and and Lindsay share a nose, Bridgette, Izzy, Gwen and Katie all share noses, and Leshawna and Beth share a nose.

Eyes? Things are more even here, with Trent, Duncan, Ezekiel and (maybe?) Tyler sharing eyes, Noah and Geoff also share eyes. The girls somehow fair even worse, Gwen, Leshawna, and Bridgette share eyes, Katie and Sadie share eyes, Courtney and Lindsay share eyes, Izzy and Heather share eyes. The only outlier being Beth.

Even the way certain body types, like plus sized (see Owen and Sadie), and muscular (see DJ, Duncan, Geoff or Justin with Eva) are portrayed wildly differently between boys and girls, and yes I do see that as a problem.

Either tone down the stylisation on the boys to be more in line with the girls or tone up the stylisation on the girls to match more with the boys. Preferably tone up the girls but if you tone down the boys even after that you should still have added in a bit more body type diversity and facial diversity anyways!

I feel like this was most likely due either the character designers being to scared to experiment with their designs for the girls. This happens often and yes, it is a problem. I don't think it's right to have such a stylistic gap between girls and boys, not only because it's bad for consistency's sake and because it's just generally stupid but it's leads to more unoriginal designs. If you limit how you stylise girls, you are going to end up with girl characters who look the same. I don't think I'd have as much of a problem with this if boys were stylised the same as girls and similarly looked a bit samey but they weren't, which causes all these wild designs for the boys and some girls to end up looking way to similar for my tastes.

In conclusion, all of the island girls deserve better designs, not because their bad or poorly designed, but because they are way less unique and diverse in the way their traits are portrayed than the boys on the show. Again, I might make a follow up for later seasons and casts, but that's all for now. Hope you enjoyed my ramble about character designs =)

Oh… oh no. This is either going to be a Business Crisis or a Full-Scale Sentimental Meltdown. There is no middle ground. At first, ENA brushes it off. Plays it cool.

She leans in, all exaggerated brows and theatrical flair: “Oh! Hello, stranger-entity. I didn’t realize we were hosting a cuddle conference today! Must’ve missed the flyer—was there a coupon involved?”

Meanwhile, Meanie is imploding. Internally screaming: “WH-WHAT IS THIS?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! I DON’T RECALL SIGNING A POLY-AFFECTIONATE AGREEMENT WITH THIS FOOL!”

You’re just standing there like a poorly timed paper cut, watching a hyperdimensional emotion spiral pour out of the girl who once sold you heartbreak and called it a kitchen appliance.

One arm claws at the air like she’s about to summon a megaphone, while the other flails mitten-first toward the nearest emotional support structure. (That’s you. You’re the structure.)

Her mouth twists, clearly caught between saying:

A) “I’m happy for you! We should synergize our emotional assets!”

B) “YOU TRAITOROUS, TENDER-FACED THUMB WORM!!!”

Somehow, what actually escapes is:

“…I could also hold your hand. If you… invest.”

You blink.

You’re not even sure what’s happening anymore. A purple-spotted entity is hugging you from behind. ENA is spewing metaphors about fiscal intimacy. There’s a wind chime made of bones.

And despite all of it, you’re kind of—

“…Okay… this is weird. But strangely sweet.”

And she looks at you like she’s just realized you’re made of starlight and guilt. Like she doesn’t need a bathroom anymore. Just you.
