The Columbine Shooters have a subreddit for discussing the Columbine Killers and their families with over 33,000 members. It has been active since May 5th, 2020.

The Sandy Hook shooter has a subreddit dedicated to discussing him with 3,551 members. Here are some of the posts, in addition to pictures of him as a child. It has been active since December 3rd, 2021. he is also described by a mod of the subreddit as "not a pedophile, but an ephebophile."

The Pennsylvania Weis Markets shooter has a subreddit dedicated to discussing him with 500~ members. It has been active since April 15th, 2022.

The Apalachee High School shooter has a subreddit dedicated to discussing him with 260~ users. It was created the day of the shooting, September 4th, 2024.

if you dig through the frequent contributors to these subreddits, you will find that the vast amount of crossover from the users occurs in communities such as r/teenagers, r/highschool, r/roblox and a wide variety of subreddits dedicated to self harm, severe mental health struggles and other mass killers or topics related to them. totally normal stuff that reddit allows.

this is without seeking out all of the alt-right rat nests that have buried themselves underneath somewhat innocuous-looking community names pushing dog whistles and avoiding overt calls for violence.

every last one of these social media platforms, including the one that we are on, overtly allows glorification and deification of the most notorious, mentally unwell, violent, extremist mass killers in modern history. but if you show any kind of approval of what Luigi Mangione is accused of doing, you are censored not in days, but hours.

i sincerely hope this opens the eyes of people who previously didn't see the forest for the trees. this is what is meant by “they got you fighting a culture war to stop you fighting a class war.” not that our cultures aren't significant or that we don't have differences, but that ultimately, the divide among us lies in wealth, not in skin color.

as long as the "poors" are killing each other, there's no reason for alarm or concern. it's only when the roles are reversed that we see action taken or examples made of people like Luigi Mangione.

While in custody at the Sante Fe Police Department, he made a comment to authorities suggesting the shooting wasn’t entirely indiscriminate. The statement included in the Probable Cause Affidavit reads that Pagourtzis “advised he did not shoot students he did like so he could have his story told.”

a deep dive into the raul brasil school massacre.

as always, more information will be below the cut. this post is for educational, research, and awareness purposes only.

On March 13th, 2019, two students walked into their former school- Professor Raul Brasil State School, located in the municipality of Suzano, São Paulo State, Brazil.

The students, 17 year-old Guilherme Taucci Monteiro, born July 5th, 2001, and 25 year-old Luiz Henrique de Castro, born March 16th, 1993, had planned this for well over the better part of a year. It was 9:40 AM, and for the students at Raul Brasil, the day was just getting started. For Guilherme and Luiz, though, they were at the finish line.

Before arriving at the school, the two had shot and killed Guilherme’s uncle at the rental car shop, which he owned; that car shop was also where they stole the car they used to get to school that morning. Monteiro had previously worked for his uncle at this car shop, but had been fired for “petty crimes.”

When they arrived, they were armed with a gun (.38 caliber handgun), crossbows, and axes, as well as molotov cocktails and a handful of small knives. According to those who knew them, the pair had a “deep fascination with Columbine” and hoped to “emulate” it. Friends and former classmates were told about these plans, but claim they “didn’t believe it would actually happen” and those who did believe it kept their mouth shut, “afraid telling anybody would make them a target.”

Taucci and Luiz wanted to prove they could act like Eric and Dylan, the perpetrators behind the 1999 massacre at Columbine Highschool in Littleton, CO. They had goals of being even more well-known than the Columbine killers.

Allegedly, an unnamed 17 year old student was involved in planning the attack- although he was not present at school the day of. Police have asked a judge to issue a warrant for the teens arrest, (but it’s unclear whether or not anything has come of that request, five years later.)

Security camera footage captures Taucci and Luiz walking into the school. Taucci can be seen on CCTV shooting, and hitting several people in the head. Luiz can then be seen following him, attacking wounded, but still alive, students with an axe; “swinging it wildly” through the crowds of students who were attempting to flee the scene.

Luiz aims his crossbow, walking further into the school- and disappearing from the view of security cameras.

It would later be announced that seven people had been killed in the attack- 9 had died in total. 5 students, 1 teachers, and 1 school administrator (who police suspect to be the first to be killed.) 9 people were wounded in the attack, including 7 who were still hospitalized days later. One student was forced to run to the hospital nearby with an axe still lodged in his right shoulder.

After their killing spree, police were quickly closing in. Rather than facing authorities head on, Taucci turned the gun on his partner, Luiz- killing him. He then took his own life.

why did they do it?

Firstly, Taucci and Luiz were copycats; plain and simple. They wanted the fame and notoriety that Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold have.

Rumors did circulate about Taucci being bullied and dropping out of school over it, but sources claim this was pretty much irrelevant to the attack. The bullying wasn’t severe by any means, allegedly it was primarily focused on Taucci’s acne. State officials say the boys never showed any problems during their time in school.

Taucci had been raised by his grandmother, as a result of his mothers “addiction problems.” Taucci is considered the “leader” of the two, as he’s the one who originally formulated the plan. Luiz was described as a quiet kid who kept to himself, which has led the public to believe this was a “leader-follower” type of scenario. If it is, it’s still unclear how Taucci managed to rope Luiz into this. The boys had been friends since childhood, playing video games and visiting the local arcade together.

was there any criticism after the attack?

As with any tragedy, the public wants to blame the perpetrators- however, if the perpetrators are gone, the public will tend to target the people who made the tragedy possible in one way or another.

Brasil’s former right-wing president, Mr. Bolsonaro, (a president surrounded by accusations of political manipulation, buyouts, and more) had recently passed a law making the acquisition of firearms significantly easier. Gun violence is extremely common in Brasil, though school shootings are relatively rare, with only a handful of documented cases existing in modern times.

Because of this law being passed, many Brazilians blamed him for the tragedy at Raul Brasil. However, many others brought up the possibility of making sure all staff were armed, in order to better protect their students. However, nothing ever really came from this debate, as the law stayed in place, and staff remained unarmed (that we know of.)

(y/n's) pov: I was a freshman at columbine highschool. It was ok for the most part, on my first day I had no idea where I was going so I decided to ask the first person I saw. That person happened to be a boy that was about 5'8, with short spikey brown hair, and a long trench coat on. He seemed to be talking to his friends. I'm not gonna lie I was a bit intimidated by him. I took a deep breath and slowly walked over to the group.

"Um excuse me.." I mumbled as I lightly pulled on the boys sleeve. When he turned around he looked angry, but then he looked down at me and his face softened. Well all except a smirk that played on his somewhat chapped lips. "Can I help you?" He asked. I looked down at my new white sneakers as I spoke out softly "yeah um, do you happen to know where classroom 204 is?" I ask as I keep my gaze down now looking at my schedule. He snatches the crumpled paper out of my hand and looks at it squinting. "Oh yeah I know where that is. Here I'll walk you to it." He says with a slight smile. I smiled back at him as I thank him and we both start walking down the halls.

As we walk we start talking. "You new here? I just haven't seen you round y'know?" He asks as he walks ahead of me a little. "Mhm!" I hum feeling more comfortable around him. "It's my first year, to be honest I'm a little nervous" I say with a breathy chuckle. His head perks up at that "your a freshman?" He asks. "Yup!" I say with a smile, he mutters out a small "oh." In response.

We finally make it to my new homeroom. "Thank you for helping me" I say with a slight smile. "Anytime." he reply's with a soft smirk. I go to walk into my class but stop dead in my tracks and turn to face the boy. "Hey, I never got your name" I point out. "Oh. You can call me Reb." He reply's with a smirk before he turns a heel and walks away leaving me in the doorway of my new math class.

I couldn't focus the entire class period. He's all I could think about, I mean he was cute and sweet. Maybe a little intimidating. But sweet. I'm suddenly snapped out of my thoughts by the sound of the bell. I grab my bag and slip out of my desk slinking my backpack over my shoulder.

I walk out into the now crowded halls, I didn't have any friends yet so I decided to just go to the library before my next class. That is until I see two people wearing long black coats. I knew exactly who it was or at least one of them. "Reb!" I shout down the hall as I do a little jog to catch up with him ignoring the other students who's heads now turn towards me some of there faces twist with discomfort and irritation. I come to a stop in front of him. I notice the other guy now he's about 6'3, with longer dirty blonde hair the reached just past his ears he has a confused expression on his face while Eric's face has a smirk on it. "Hey, how was class?" He asks "it was fine." I mutter as I look down at my sneakers. "Why was it just 'fine'?" Eric asks his eyes squinting slightly and his brows furrowed "jus couldn't focus is all.." I mumble. "Dude come on, brooks is waiting at the pit." The taller boy says annoyance evident in his voice. Eric sighs "I'm coming damnit!" He snaps back. "I'll talk to you later uhh" he starts but stops when he realizes "I never got you name" he points out with a nervous chuckle. "It's y/n!" I reply enthusiastically with a warm smile. "I'll talk to you later y/n" he says with a smirk before walking away once more this time with his friend.

I let out a tired sigh as I make my way out to the student parking lot. I begin to walk just when I hear someone call my name. I knew exactly who it was. "Y/n!" I turn around and smile as I see Eric leaning against his car a cigarette between his lips and a pair of sunglasses on his face. I skip over to him and hug him "hi reb!" I greet him. Surprisingly he reciprocated the hug "hi baby" he says with a soft chuckle. He is so sweet! "Need a ride?" He asks as he taps the hood of his car "I dunno" I say nervously "I'm supposed to walk home." I mumble. Erics smirk falls and if I could see his eyes I'm sure he'd be glaring down at me. "It's fuckin freezing out. Get in the car." And without another word he walked around his car to get into the driver's seat. I don't argue as I hop in the passengers seat.

I give Eric my address and directions to my house. The radio was playing lowly and I was looking out the window. The car comes to a stop and I look over at Eric. He holds out a folded piece of paper as his other arm hangs out the window slightly and he looks forward. I gently take the small piece of paper out of his hands. "What's this..?" I ask softly as I look at Eric with my (y/ec) doe eyes. "My number." He says blankly. "Call me." He says. I look down at the paper in my hands and smile "ok!". I grabe my bag and get out of his car, "I'll call you later tonight, bye Reb!" I say to him with a warm smile as I walk up to the front door of my house.

There was a kid before that when I was in highschool, probably '74-75, took his father's gun to school and offed the principal and a teacher and the kids that had bullied him.

It's been happening my whole fuckin' life. And I'm old.

I was eleven years old when Kent State happened.

People need to stop acting like this is some kind of new development. No.

The only 'New Development' is that they are no longer hiding.

i'm finally getting around to reading cullen's columbine — why does he write like this?? he refers to one of klebold & harris's girl classmates as being 'busty,' and seems to repeatedly try to imply they weren't bullied at all, (or were very "minimally" bullied) in spite of journal entries from both gunmen & testimonies from their friends & acquaintances....

also i do already know that the book isn't a very good resource, and i've already found a few inaccuracies (or extremely understated references to their highschool careers .. i.e. downplaying the bullying they faced....) in the first 50~ pages
