I love the outdoors! Walks along the beach or through the woods are so nice!

selkie: are you a strong swimmer?

I mean, I can swim. I’m not sure how we measure this but I took swimming lessons for a number of years but I stopped after a few because I didn’t have the stamina to swim multiple laps of the pool.

Ahhhh! I was tagged in something! I love that so much! The darling tagger was the fabulous Trinity @colourfulheroes - I shall never grow tired of thinking of a new complimentary adjective to put before your name(s).

Nicknames: One guy at school called me Girl Who Reads, and my Mumzy calls me too many names to list. Everyone else just uses my full name, which is strange because Olivia is highly nickable, and I almost always nickname others. (Oh my gosh, I just realized I haven’t put my name on this blog anywhere else! I’m sorry followers! My name is Olivia!)

Star Sign: I have no clue. I’ve never even been curious.

Height: I am 5′7, which Google says is about 170 cm.

Favorite Music Artist: I am a huge huge huge fan of Dionysos! It took me ages to track down their older albums, but now I’m slowly, savoringly, working my way through every single song! THEY’RE JUST SO GREAT!!!

Last TV show you watched: Um.

What kind of stuff do you post: MIRACULOUS LADYBUG! 

Do you have any other blogs?: Not yet. I just decided yesterday to start a new Tumblr for writing because it’s easier to interact with people here. So, soon. 

Why did you choose your URL?: Okay, funny story. I wanted to be egg so badly for reasons I don’t even know, but egg was taken. I was devastated, and wouldn’t even make a Tumblr for months. But then I caved and went to a random word generator website and reloaded until I found something that I liked and also wasn’t taken. It took two days.

Hogwarts House: So I’ve only read 1 and 2 in the series (don’t worry, the rest of the series is right here beside me and I’ll read it eventually). Pottermore put me in Ravenclaw, but here’s an anecdote that contradicts that: Remember when Draco challenged Harry to a duel and Harry was like “bring it!” and then actually went to the place? I thought to myself, “Silly boy. If I were challenged, I would accept, but rather than showing up, send a teacher to catch the other party. Few people even knew about the duel, so I wouldn't be branded as a coward. Rather, my opponent would be in big trouble, and I would be winner.” That is exactly what Draco did. So at times it appears I’m very Slytherin. 

Pokemon team: Nope.

Favorite color: I like dark greens and grays.

Lucky numbers: I don’t have a lucky number, but I do believe 3 is the most magical number in the universe, and I like to keep things/do things in threes.

How many blankets do you sleep with?: Three in the winter, one in the summer, the window by my bed is always open.

Dream job: My dream would be to become a writer/YouTuber. I already write, and I already YouTube, so I’m half there (only half because I don’t make any money).

anemone: how old were you when you first started writing? 

Ohoho! I was eleven. I came across my old writing journal from 11 year old me recently, and I was so embarrassed and ashamed I threw the journal away! 

baby’s breath: about how many fics have you completed?

I’m going to assume this includes oneshots. Eleven in total, but hopefully that number will rise in the coming months ;)

lily: do you listen to music when you write? if so, do you have a specific playlist for it?

(i answered this in an earlier ask so i’ll just quote myself) “Sometimes, when I need background noise to think or if a song fits perfectly to a scene I’m writing/trying to write. I have a playlist on my iPod labeled “Writing Music”, but it mostly just depends on what my mood is or what the topic is or what the atmosphere in the fic is, ect.”

poinsettia: is it hard for you to make up names for characters in your fics?

For my OCs? When I make an OC of certain nationality that isn’t american, I like to do research on that nationality. (Ex: I made an Igbo OC, so I did extensive research on the Igbo culture before I decided on a name.) To answer your question, yes, it is. But only because I complicate it. It is a satisfying feeling when their name comes to fruition, though. 

sunflower: what is the best feedback/compliment you’ve ever received regarding your writing?

(answered this on in an earlier ask too sorry ;-;) “Hahahahaha…I try to be humble when I’m complimented because I still have room to grow in my writing technique. The thing that many people have commented on is my writing style and attention to detail. I really try to form an image in my writing, so it’s nice when I succeed in doing so and get the feedback from others who noticed. (I’m also referring to when I write academic essays and I get positive feedback from my peers and my teachers).”

violet: do you read a lot?

(answered this one earlier too aacjkdsnj) “Kind of. I was a HUGE bookworm when I was younger, but then responsibilities of life came along and I lost all my time. In addition, summer reading for advanced literature and English ruined reading for me a bit. ALSO, I read so many stories and genres with similar books that now in my maturity I get extremely picky over what I read. I grew to hate repetition in novels, because what else is new?? I like reading about fresh plot lines.”

lavender: what is the most important thing to you as a writer?

This is a toughie. Honestly, for me it would be thoroughness. Don’t leave the reader grasping at straws in a scene because you made it vague. EVEN WITH SPARSE WRITING, BE THOROUGH WITH WHAT IS GOING ON. I hate being vague because I have this innate fear of leaving all possibilities and explanations  out when I delve into a topic or a prompt. Not to say that sometimes too much attention to detail can be a bad thing (like don’t go on for three pages on the design of a chair, it’s a CHAIR. MOVE ON!). I mean this in an innocuous way, just be mindful of the readers who don’t have your brain and complete understanding of your writing and knows whats going on at all times.

Actually, I think it was around 1 am when I was last on Tumblr. I went to an event for the local robotics team that lasted until midnight.

Not that it really matters. I have no classes, tests or assignments due this week. I’ve just got a little bit of school work to prepare for next week. Aside from that, I could pull all-nighters if I really wanted. :P
