whenever i doodle leb i tend to give her slight eye bags, like she's quite the night owl despite how early she presumably has to wake up for her nun duties. whether that's because she has to stay up late to help with church matters, or just procrastinates sleeping because she feels like nighttime is one of the few moments she truly gets to herself, i imagine she just developed sleep issues from that in general

just had the concept of Percy going back in time to save Fred but not being able to with 100% certainty and having to try to run to save him or save someone else that he'd have a far higher chance of success with pop in my head

ok the scene at the end of beast with Mori and Atsushi blew my mind and I had a lot of thoughts but it got kinda long so I’ll be nice and put a read more

Mori’s character changes in beast are SO interesting to me and Elise being older in beast is a VERY significant detail regarding his growth imo. the only other time Elise changes is between Yosano’s time with Mori and after Mori loses her, where Elise went from emotionless and a bit older (a teenager, I think?), to a bratty child, somewhat reminiscent of Yosano as a child.

this line also reminded me of Yosano’s backstory and how Mori uses violence to force Yosano into using her ability so he can keep his undying army

essentially, when Mori had this mindset of using violence and fear to manipulate people (CHILDREN), losing Yosano made Elise change into a child that tries to defy him, the sort of relationship he had with Yosano, except Elise can never escape Mori. in beast, where he realizes that a child should never be treated that way, Elise changes in the complete opposite way, becoming an adult. Mori also doesn’t seem to patronize her like he did when she appeared as a child.

the other detail that really stuck out to me was how Mori was described as “the man who raised Dazai.” despite technically being his boss Mori really was like a father to Dazai considering their closeness, Dazai’s young age and lack of parents, and Mori saying Dazai reminded him of himself. Mori’s inability to save Dazai being what led to Mori taking in Atsushi feels a lot like a parent failing one child, realizing their own faults, and trying to do better for their other kid (not that that’s always how it goes…) which perhaps is the reason for Mori’s changed philosophies. Mori saying he’ll take Atsushi in as his son instead of his student is like Mori fully accepting his fatherhood role instead of… sort of half-assing it by trying to raise a child and a tool like with Dazai. raising children in an orphanage is maybe a better idea than doing it in a mafia organization, or so I’m learning

also because of all that, Atsushi being Mori’s son sort of makes Atsushi like Dazai’s little brother which I think is sweet

Dustlings by Dante Atlas is out for pre-order now! So what can you expect? What is it about?

Dustlings is a clean and wholesome fantasy romance novel, and a journey of self rediscovery. Bridget, having just ended a long term relationship with her boyfriend Jason, ends up in a magical world after falling through a portal and off of a cliff on her parents' property. She must navigate this new world, on top of being newly disabled, on top of trying to get home undiscovered.

In this new world, she must rely on others, whether it's trusting them to keep her secret or helping carry her on her journey. She's offered fresh perspective, and uncovers a history she couldn't have learned anywhere else.

I'll be releasing character profiles and more information as the time comes (and as I get them done) so look forward to those!

He is seated with his legs on the opposite side of the wall and his drink appears to be rainbow colored in the cup, some kind of fancy elven drink surely. He wears a simple white linen shirt, black pants and black gloves.

Sinew, my beloved, is a tiny red goblin standing up on the wall and ready to cause trouble with her two cups raised triumphantly over her head and ready to spill at any moment. Her design is based around a poison dart frog, red with black spots and the extremities of her body dipped entirely in black. Her hair is a shaggy black mullet styled Lesbianly, her ears stick straight out from the sides of her head, she wears a simple white tank top and brown pants. It's little feet grip the wall with self assured force, but even so, Wilrick's hand firmly grasps her to prevent her falling.

Wilrick is a handsome, short and stocky dwarf with purple/plum undertones to his skin. He has long indigo hair and beard which reaches the middle of his back and his beard is braided at some points, though largely obscured by his drink in a birch wood cup. He wears a simple brown linen shirt, vest, black pants and boots and the hands that holds the cup, like the rest of them, has his pinky straight in the air. Despite the impending chaos to his left, he appears to be at ease as he enjoys the evening. /END ID]

I know I post about this, like, every few months, but.

I don't understand how I'm supposed to develop a healthy relationship with sexuality when I can't seem to untangle learned Catholic prudishness from my naturally low libido, reasonable disgust at the degradation of women that seems to be unavoidable among expressions of sexuality under patriarchy, and confusion at stuff I just happen to not be into.

Like, does that make sense? Most things that I don't understand about the world can be dissected via learning and reason, but with sexual topics, it's much harder, because I either don't want to or can't rationalize it apart. And, for all that I have no interest in shaming others, I'm also not interested in pretending that some kinks and preferences aren't informed by the complex issues that shape everything else about the world we live in.

And then trying to explore this issue by exposing myself to these topics often leaves me with a strong emotional response that I can't identify the source of, and that I don't see coming until I'm already in the middle of it. And then I'm too overwhelmed to figure what's going on, so I give up.
